Lisa Suzanne ramps up the OMG meter to HIGH here in her latest book, Groundball. No wonder she's the still the Queen of Angst, at least to me. This is the fourth book in her Vegas Heat: The Expansion Team series where the world revolves around this baseball team, one of it's star players, his best friend and the forbidden soulmate who he doesn't want to live without. But at this moment, holy moly- with the good, the bad and everything in between, I am feeling emotionally wrecked after finishing this book.
Gabby and Cooper have been waiting a long time for the right time to reveal their truth, to live freely and out of the shadows. But, meanwhile, there are challenging situations being dished up and dumped onto their plate from all different angles. Jealousy, secrets and one twist after another and the thrill ride isn't over yet. Looks like time is not on their side as another bomb is about to drop that will blow their cozy bubble to bits. Love and loyalties will be tested. Tears will be shed. The question now has got to be- can Cooper and Gabby get through what's coming with their hearts intact? Could anything be the same when everything is on the line?
This couple, these books, which must be read in order, are a wild ride from start to finish full of ups, downs, twists and crazy turns, but hopefully will have their happily ever after when the final inning has been played. This Series Intensifies!!
There was a devastating ending at the end of the last book in this series which only put Cooper and Gabby putting off telling her dad yet again. They are so ready to get everything out in the open but one thing after another keeps popping up that delays this every time. Their love is still strong for each other and all they want is to live their happy lives out in the open.
At the end of this book there is one surprise after another just as Cooper is about to leave for training camp for a month. To say that I need to read Hardball NOW is an understatement. This is a superbly written series that has me at the edge of my seat. I cannot wait to see if Cooper and Gabby will get their HEA and what it will take to get them there.

Okay so after the ending of the previous book I was like I need to know what’s going on asap! At this point they’re still hiding their relationship. However, things are changing. I can’t say too much without spoiling some details, but I was surprised by one trope that showed up in this book. Cooper is given an ultimatum and feels like he has no say in the matter. We’ve got some work to do to get to our HEA 😅 I did love Gabby surprising her father with a puppy and the name Ruby Sue is pretty cute. And I’m absolutely loving the audiobooks. The narrators continue to do a great job!

Groundball is the 4th book and I couldn’t wait to listen to this one. Aiden Snow and Stephanie Rose were amazing once again. Their voices bring these characters to life.
Cooper and Gabby’s story continues and the angst is so good. Keeping their secret is getting harder and omg I can’t wait to listen to the next one. I highly recommend the audios for these books…so good.

Just when I think this series can’t get any better Liza Suzanne does it again! My heart can’t handle anymore! Lots happening in this one and I can’t wait to find out how it ends for Cooper and Gabby!

And as with previous books, this one also ended on a cliffhanger only the secret is finally discovered! Yay! I wasn’t a fan of the reactions to the news though and now have to wait for book 5 to see what happens next..

This is so intense!

Picking up from the cliffhanger ending in Flyball.
Groundball, the fourth book from Lisa Suzanne’s Vegas Heat: Expansion Team series, continues in following Cooper and Gabby’s story.
Here we go again, Lisa had us navigating through the whirlwind that was the continuation of Cooper and Gabby’s story.
With the secrets being kept, lies being told, jealousy, medical emergencies, shocking surprises on top of threats at play.
It was no surprise we were on a rollercoaster ride, taking us through even more obstacles given all the ups, downs and loops that Lisa had us riding through.
Particularly when it came to the anticipation of seeing whether Cooper and Gabby would be able to spill the beans once and for all, given all the hurdles that kept getting in their way.
Ultimately having Lisa delivering a entertaining, yet weighty narrative considering the wide mixture of feelings that was flowing out at every moment. Making you feel every which way, alongside Cooper and Gabby.
Honestly Groundball was an enjoyable read overall. So much so that it is my favourite book from the series so far.
Something about it kept me hooked even tighter and falling further than ever before.
Groundball cliffhanger was a painful one, at least incomparison to all the rest.
Safe to say the last book Hardball could not come fast enough, seeing as Lisa has me lying in wait for it.

I am waffling between three and four stars for this one, so I’m going to write a like/dislike list to express what I’m thinking:
Like: Cooper and Gabby together. Love them actually. They are so in love and everything that they say and do for each other is such magic.
Dislike: at the end of several chapters the last sentence is something like “if I had only known it would end so badly” or “the way it ended was so much worse than I could have thought” and stuff along those lines. Well how does it end? It was a lot of what’s gonna happen when really, just tell us what’s happening. I didn’t need that much buildup. I already know it’s not gonna end well, there’s a fifth book.
Like: Cooper and Gabby are finally going to tell Troy
Dislike: Gabby has no self confidence and literally one person has to say something slightly negative and she doesn’t think she deserves anything. Mia is a bitch, maybe just don’t listen to her?
Like: when Cooper says he wants Troy to accept their relationship because he wants Troy to be the one walking his future bride down the aisle at his wedding. I loved that!
Dislike: That nothing ever goes to plan! Can we just tell Troy already?!
Like: That Gabby’s mom isn’t blackmailing her with the info she knows about Gabby and Cooper. I was so worried that was going to be part of the story and I just didn’t want that to be a thing.
Dislike: that Cooper is about to make the stupidest mistake of his life

Cooper and Gabby still couldn’t find the right time to tell her father and Cooper’s best friend that they were together. I can’t imagine how the two felt with more people finding out about their relationship. I think her father didn’t notice so much what was happening with the two since he and Joanie decided to marry. Gabby is so smart and was doing such a fabulous job as an intern in the marketing department of Vegas Heat. You could tell how much she loved her job. Everything starts to fall apart when unexpected tragedy strikes. Of course Ms. Suzanne left us with a whopper of a cliff hanger. I can’t wait until the next book. I strongly encourage you to read this book, especially if you have been reading this series. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Oh my freaking gosh! She’s definitely the best in the cliffhanger field! And Mr Cooper Noah is the best in the baseball field. I love how in each book we can see the growing in their relationship as couple, the love and the goals for the future together. And the friendship between Gabby with Joanie, and Cooper and Troy. The drama, all the secrets… is driving me crazy but I loved every second. And to be honest more than once I wanted to pu|\|¢|-| Troy, yep! The cliffhanger in this one oh men, broke my heart, for Cooper, Gabby, Joanie and Troy too. Can’t wait for book 5 and their HEA!

Listen this Audiobook just keeps getting better and Better, especially with these talented Narrators Aiden Snow and Stephanie Rose who have been doing their thing on the Mike!
They certainly continue to deliver one heck of a performance bring these Characters to life!

This book picks up where the third book, “Flyball” left off and after that ending with Troy’s collapse, I could not get this book in my ears fast enough. We learn what happens with Troy and how Cooper steps up to help get the team ready for spring training. Gabby is doing wonders working behind the scene as an intern, coming up with great ideas to help market the team. Not is all fine and dandy, they still have not come clean about their relationship with her father and more people know then there should be, which could lead to a disaster, but that can’t be their undoing, or can it? I can not get enough of these characters and as soon as I started the book, nothing else around me mattered except what was going to happen next. It is a wonderfully plotted story with the balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. Lisa Suzanne, thank you for this amazing story, I am looking forward to hear where you take these two and how it all ends.

They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. The story picks up where the previous one ended with a medical emergency that causes Gabby and Cooper to, once again, delay talking to Troy and put off going public with their relationship. Gabby is excelling at her internship, and jealousy arises in some interns who imply that her success results from nepotism. She’s also helping with Troy and Joanie’s upcoming wedding. Gabby and Cooper are both very busy, but they still manage to steal away and spend time together every spare moment. Admittedly, I knew where this story had to go. I knew what had to happen at some point and that it was gonna be crazy dramatic. Yet, here I sit, trying to decide which of these characters I'm madest at. I seriously want to shake them until their teeth rattle - all four of the main players in this nerve-wracking, edge-of-my-seat, hanging-off-the-edge-of-the-cliff, crazy good sports romance. Who knew the world of baseball could be so dramatic?! Once again, Lisa Suzanne has left us with a jaw-dropper and very impatiently waiting for the next book in Cooper and Gabby's story. At this point, I'm thoroughly invested in these characters, and I've found myself talking to them as I listen - usually to express total exasperation with them. I, like many others, want a book that's gonna draw me in and make me feel things. This series has definitely done that, and I feel like I have as much skin in the game as our couple. So, yes, Lisa Suzanne is one seriously gifted storyteller, and my TBR has grown with her backlist.
Of course, I have to mention narrators Aiden Snow and Stephanie Rose. They've done a wonderful job with this series, and I can't say enough about just how good their performances are.
As a little reminder, this is book 4 in the series, which is a continuing story, so you do need to read the books in order. Go ahead, you won't regret it.

Audio Review:
Groundball was so different than I was expecting and I loved it! I'm even starting to love the cliffhangers because they just keep me wanting more.
I am on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens. The secret they've been keeping from her father, also Coopers best friend, keeps getting pushed into the background for one reason or another and it's bound to explode. And explode it does! The ramifications and fall out are so much bigger than anyone could have predicted. Will any of them come back from the way Cooper and Gabby's secret was exposed, and where?
The increasing maturity in Gabby is refreshing. Even though she is only 21, she is growing into a strong woman that knows what she wants and her #1 is Cooper. The love they have for each other is palpable and the narrators do a fantastic job of bringing those emotions out. Stephanie Rose and Aiden Snow give listeners one an amazing story.
The decision Cooper is faced with, and the secret Gabby is keeping leaves us with a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers and I need book 5 now!
Lisa Suzanne is delivering a fantastic series through audio and I'm anxious to get the ending, but sad that I know it's coming.

4⭐️ I’ve been dying to see where Cooper & Gabby were going to end up after the end of book 3 & this one didn’t disappoint. It picks up immediately where the last ended and spans a few couple of months in a short time.
⚾️We continue to see Cooper and Gabby attempt to figure out their relationship. The hiding and secretiveness is catching up to both of them. There is so much tension in this book & I love it. While I do think these 4 books so far could have been 2, I enjoy the cliffhangers and fun details LS is able to add making it longer. I’m excited to see where the finale is going to take us, & how Cooper and Gabby are going to find their HEA.

Holly Molly if you have been reading them you know we were left with the cliffhanger of cliffhangers and Troy collapsing. Oh man on this fourth book it feels like we are walking the fine line between everything coming to light between Cooper and Abby. These two have been reluctantly keeping their love a secret and it has been getting harder and harder to keep lying to the people around them especially Troy. Well things finally catch to them in this book and things get exposed.Troys health is a huge factor. Cooper is forced to choose between Gabby and his career. Gabby is too faced with something but she chooses not to tell Cooper feeling it is better to not tell him. Ugh I wanted to scream so many times at her. This series gets better and better and I’m more and more invested. I can’t wait for the next book. I highly recommend you grab the three first books and this one before the conclusion.

Audiobook review: Narrated by Aiden Snow and Stephanie Rose
4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance

While this story did not start in the dramatic way the last book ended, it made up for it through the rest of the book. While Gabby and Cooper feel like they have a strong, secure relationship, the constant cloud hanging over them has the tension turned up to ten. I love the way the author makes this such an emotional read while also feeling like you are sitting on the edge of your seat the whole time (kuddos on the master use of foreshadowing!!) Amazing story, great timing on the plot, and the chemistry, as always, is right on par. Loving all the twists as well.
The narration will absolutely keep you riveting to the story. The way these two commit to the emotions is impressive. It makes it so easy to listen non-stop and for a quick listen, it is highly entertaining and will leave you wanting to dive right in to the final book.

OMG!!! Lisa Suzanne!! I listened to the audio version & let me 100% recommend this series if you are going on a long trip! I will suck you in & you will love every minute!
I adored the meet/cute between Cooper & Gabby! Each of wanting the other to get to know their true selves without any background stuff to cloud anyone’s judgement. A blackjack table at Caesar’s Palace is where that magic happened! You could feel the love between coming from the speakers. When outside interferences arose, they tried to do the right thing & stay away from each other but you can’t fight true love & your heart, not your mind picks your soul mate. This series will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions but you will love every minute. *I prefer the set as opposed to the individual books because my ADD would go crazy!!

This is my least favorite book out of the series thus far. I know it’s a build up book and the final book is the finale but I’m so sick of the lack of communication all around.
We start off with Gabby’s dad, Troy, having a heart attack on the red carpet to the MLB Draft. He recovers but has some restrictions for a month and a half. Gabby gets him a Lab to help recover and slow down a bit.
Gabby is finish’s her fall/winter semester and is now in her final semester of college. She celebrates the holidays with Cooper while Troy is at home recovering.
Cooper needs to grow a pair and when it came down to tell Gabby’s dad he wimped out. Gabby had to be honest alone.

Combine!
Why do these books need to be separate?! I get it, it's a story broken up so it's not one big huge story with like 700+ pages, but I think book 2 could have been combined with book 1. Books 3 & 4 could be one book. Or you know 2 & 3 as one & 4 and 5 as one. I like it, I do, I just don't need it in so many pieces. I took time off until the last one was ready to come out so I wouldn't have to wait long & now it's ready so I've read this one & now I'm ready for the last to put it bed. Few typos but if you've read the others you might as well read this one. Ready for the last one!

It was at this point in my life that I started getting irritated by the story. They refuse to tell her father even though they both consistently say they hate keeping it a secret BUT Cooper also won't stand up to her father when put in uncomfortable positions for Gabby. I also hated the foreshadowing in this book, it didn't up the angst factor, it just annoyed me.
The only reason this gets 3 stars is because I love them together but the potential blackmail (and why was the mom storyline a thing when not much came from her taking the picture?) and Mia being horrible nearly made me nix that idea too.
