Three Words. It's just three words. Three little words that hold the power over your life and choices. Three little words that can ruin you in an instant, yet we still crave hearing them. Feeling them. But they're just three words .
A chance meeting, a handsome stranger who wasn't her type. But Cody knew something about Crew was different than her usual choice. From strangers to friends, their friendship growing rapidly until... they wasn't.
Would he be the one to break the mould and turn her world on its axis, or was he going to be another heartbreak waiting to happen?
Three words. Eight letters. I love you. Simple. Forever.
Ashlee Rose lives in the UK where she resides with her husband, three children and her crazy cockapoo.
When Ashlee isn't being a stay at home mum and housewife, she is losing herself in her steamy romance novels and swoon worthy alphas.
Ashlee has always been an avid reader of romance and lives in a fantasy world.
In 2018, she decided to try her hand at writing, a few months later Something New was published. After vowing to finish the Entwined In You series and leaving it at that, Ashlee got the itch to continue and has many more romance novels up her sleeve.
Ashlee is on all social media platforms so go over and give her a follow.
This was not what I expected, someone really talked this book up on Facebook and I hate to say this but it was just ok. I felt like the book was talking at me. It also just spin in circles. It also has a lot of time jumps and makes you feel like your missing part of the story.
This book is about Crew and Cody. Crew is a police officer and Cody owns her own florist/coffee shop. She renovates the building and adds a book store towards the end of the book.
It’s about finding love, that’s why it’s called Three Words. Those words being I love you but after bad luck with men Cody doesn’t believe in love.
Crew and Cody meet on her birthday when her friends take her out to celebrate. Her drink gets spiked and he takes her home with him and takes care of her. They develop feelings for each other but are both to scared to let each other know. Thus staying in the friend zone. Crew finally tells Cody he meet someone else the same moment she tells him she wants to see where their relationship can go. I don’t know if Crew didn’t hear her but the author never made this clear. It was like it never happened and Crew moves on with Candy for awhile. Until he runs into Cody with Julian on a date.
Anyways, Crew and Cody kind of just spin around each other trying to be with someone else when really they just want each other. Two years pass by after Crew moved away for a job opportunity and Cody ends up in an abusive relationship. Cody is set to get married when she finds out Crew is back in town for good. After Crew pulls over Julian for driving under the influence and notices Cody’s bruised face he arrest him and takes care of Cody. Julian gets out of jail and beats Cody pretty badly.
Afterwards, Julian goes back to jail and Crew and Cody finally admit their feelings for each other. Then the book jumps another year and tells us they got married, you don’t get their wedding.
This could of been a much better love story if we cut out all the BS with Candy and Julian, these two characters shouldn’t even exist. Just my opinion, but what do I know. 🤷🏻♀️
Ashlee has absolutely smashed it with this friends to lovers, angst filled romance!!! 🥺 The constant pining between them and the “will they won’t they” made me want to SCREAM 😩 like I was screaming at my laptop “oh my god just get together already”!!! This story hit me right in the feels and I didn’t want it to end! They have a special place in my heart, I miss them already! The spice was top tier 🔥🔥🔥 PRAISE KINK?!? yummy 🥵 Crew is my new fave hot alphahole!!!! I was rooting for him since the beginning! Even though he pissed me off at times lmao. I adored Cody, honestly I just wanna give her a cuddle!
Three Words summarise how I felt about this book. I LOVED IT.
Crew and Cody had me hooked , I finished it at 3am (yep, you heard right - the one time I've deemed pregnancy insomnia acceptable). Let me tell you, this is one you do not want to miss! I couldn't put it down!
There was something about elements in this story that resonated with me.
Not to mention, Crew was a deeeelicious alpha!
I'm not giving away any spoilers but let me tell you, The spice! But not only that... my head was screaming at this pair!!! The will they won't they. The pining for each other. I just couldn't put it down until I knew. Oh my.
Seriously, if you haven't read this, go do it because Crew is just fire! And if you're a big fan of friends to lovers trope, THIS IS FOR YOU!
If you do anything today, make sure this alpha is added to your book boyfriends!!
ahhhhh this book was so good. the main characters are so likeable and relatable, cody just wants to be loved and i suppose you’d say crew just wants to love. crew is such a yummy book boyfriend. the way he looked after her when she was poorly🥺 he’s definitely up there with one of my favourites🥰 ashlee did amazing on this book. they’re just perfect together😍
Absolutely love crew and Cody so much how they are friends but they have feelings for each other and love when crew is there for Cody at the beginning since she had her drink spiked on her birthday and love Cody’s friendship with her girls marvel, tia and hallie so much and that crew and Cody both started dating someone since it wasn’t the right time and love that Cody works with her mum at the florist that is part cafe and part book corner to read and love that Cody is close with her parents since they have lasagne night on Thursday and crew is close with his parents and has three sibling and very spicy between crew and Cody but I hate Julian so much for hurting and being physically abused to crew and I love that crew has a group chat with the guys in the book and this book made me emotional but I love that crew and Cody got there happy ending with getting married and eloping with there family and friends coming along and we get to meet taron and luna as well at the end of the book but I just love this book so much and love Ashlee rose writing so much she is one of my new auto buy authors and I will read anything she writes and never disappoints on the spice in her books and I couldn’t put this book down and love the Taylor swift and other song’s referenced in the book as well has formula 1 in the book and love that crew is a cop in the book and I will be re reading thus book in the future ❤️🥵🔥 and love that there were some funny moments in the book between crew and Cody

I started this at 10pm and finished it at 1.30am!! I could not put this down. I really want to pick it back up and read it all over again!!
This is a friends to lovers romance, which Ashlee has perfected for these two being in the friend zone for each other.
Cody and Crew are just amazing. I just fell in love with both of them and felt that I could easily become best friends with them! They just felt so relatable and felt so real to me.
Cody and Crew meet on Cody’s bday night out where Crew is a knight in shinning armour for Cody. After they have parted ways, they both have each other on their minds and wonders ‘what if’ and as the book goes on we see their push and pulls towards each other. Their banter, the nickname lists, their interactions and the ‘will they won’t they’ moments are just so well written by Ashlee.
I felt Cody was really relatable, she’s unlucky in love with her ‘hoppys’, she’s down to earth, kind, would help anyone and just downright nice. Crew 🥵🥵 Crew and his mouth are just wicked! I loved him from the moment we met him. Defo a big boy with charm 😏
The love, the laughs, the lows and the spice (the final chapter is just… WOW) this book has it all and I can’t shout about it enough.
Having read Ms.Rose's work before i always look forward to picking up more of her books! As soon as i stumbled across a teaser for this one, i knew i had to read it next. I picked it up and got right into this story. I so enjoyed this story!
Cody and Crew's journey captured my attention quickly! Sometimes a person can walk into your life and it can shake up your world in ways you don't expect, something Cody and Crew know all too well. These two meet in quite the memorable fashion. Will they give into their feelings? or is the risk to their hearts too much for them to do so?
I really liked the way Cody and Crew were brought into each other's lives and getting to see their connection form. I didn't know how they'd tackle their feelings which got me into their story even more. I related to Cody, especially when it came to certain things in her life. Crew had me falling for him. I enjoyed the fact that both Crew and Cody had me feeling many things throughout as well!
With Three Words, Ms.Rose has created such a good read with feels! I am so looking forward to reading what this author comes up with next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
What to expect * Strangers to friends to lovers * Cinnamon Roll hero * Unlucky in love heroine * Hilarious banter & nicknames
Oh my god I love Crew and Cody!! This had me go through a range of emotions!! This book had me laughing, crying, angry (stupid Julian) and swooning. I love seeing Crew and Cody go from strangers to best friends to lovers even tho at times you’d want to slap them both for being so stubborn and not admitting their feelings 😂 even tho i was on the edge of my seat waiting on these 2 to finally get together, I adored their friendship they truly are soulmates! Crew is a dream he’s so good to Cody he respects her enormously and is absolutely hilarious!! Him and his nicknames had me rolling laughing and I think he partly does it just to annoy Cody 😂😂 I loved how relatable Crew and Cody are both together and as individuals. My heart shattered when I thought Cody was going to leave with Crew but along comes candy 😒 and don’t get me started on julian 😠 my heart was broken for Cody she just couldn’t catch a break.
This book is a journey for Crew and Cody they have to face many obstacles… failed relationships, life hurdles, new relationships, the friend zone, hurt feelings, time apart but finally they get the happy ending they deserve! And as usual Ashlee absolutely smashed it with the spice level, as always….. CHEF KISSES! 🤌🏻
Three Words is a best friends to lovers book with tons of tension and pining. I will say that there are potential triggers so please do your research before going in, as they are not shown in the beginning of the book.
Crew and Cody meet by chance and quickly form a tight friendship. Cody has all but given up on love, realizing that the only men she meets are hoppy’s [I love the use of this word] and Crew is absolutely obsessed with her. She’s too blind to what’s in front of her, and he’s too scared to admit he likes her and ruin their friendship. Because at least as friends, she’s still in his life.
I wouldn’t say that there’s miscommunication in this book, but it’s more lack of communication and fear—very valid fear. We can all relate to being scared of new things, and I think that’s perfectly shown in Three Words. Crew is the swoony police officer with a dirty mouth, and Cody is the pessimistic florist who only wants to be loved. But together, they’re everything.
If you like friends to lovers, elderly secondary characters, and spice, then you’re in for a treat with Three Words. Congrats on another successful release!
-Strangers to Friends to Lovers -Cinnamon Roll Hero -Dual POV
This was my first book by Ashlee Rose but I can tell you it will not be my last, Cody and Crew's journey captured my attention from the beginning. Although I am not a huge friends to lovers lover, I did love seeing how Cody and Crew meet by chance and how their relationship develops into friendship -- then the angst and tension.
There were frustrating times when reading because Cody could not see what was right in front of her and Crew did not want to mess things up and at least with them being friends they were in each other lives...but that just wasn't enough and there were times I just wanted to shake them. It was the lack of communication that kept them apart, but it is relatable and that is what I loved.
The banter and chemistry in this book was top tier and this was a great read that you just will not want to put down!
I received this book from Ashlee Rose in exchange for an honest review.
Seeking Hallow
Spice Rating 8/10 Book rating: 4.9/5
Three words.. Three words that can either make or break someone’s life.. Words that can be a deciding factor into one’s life. Every body wants to hear and feel it… But is that always the case?
Cody and Crew started as friends with tensions. They both wanted to be more than just the friendzone. What happens when they both that line? You get a rollercoaster of a love story. It is very addicting and I must say it is very relateable to readers. Most people have a “ Crew” or ”Cody”n their life one way or the other. Another great story will make you wonder about your own what if.
The spiciness inside will make you want your own “ Cody”. I sure do want my own. I enjoyed reading evey part of the book. I really love how Ashlee Rose makes here books relateble to her readers and bonus for the amount of spicy in each book she writes.
I’m going to be honest: I was furious and just about threw this book out at the 70% mark. And I never do this—not the DNF part—I can do that for various reasons. Crew’s character made me so mad. Was it the author’s intent to make me feel this way? If so, they did their job. I pushed through, and though the story did take an unexpected turn, I’m still pondering whether it was necessary for some of the decisions and actions of Crew’s behavior. But I made peace with it.
Let me preface that I was initially drawn to the story because of the “Dad Bod” theme. The cover model does not reflect this. But I’m okay with that. There was a character mentioned in the beginning that I kept wondering what truly happened to him. It wasn’t essential, but I tend to do that—fixate. That’s likely more of a me problem. I still enjoyed the story overall. The spice was good. And Cody got her HEA.
This a cute strangers to friends to lovers romance and it follows Crew & Cody. To be quite honest I loved the whole period where our main characters decided to take the time get to know each other as friends. Yes that period did last a lot longer than it should of because both Crew and Cody were stubborn to admit their feelings for one another😂.
From the moment we met Crew he was an utter and total gentleman like he in fact helped poor Cody after she was spiked🥺, and the fact he always respected her wishes.
The tension between them is utter PERFECTION and don’t even get me started on the spice.. hot damn 🥵. If you are looking for: Spicy✔️ Fast paced✔️ Strangers to friends to lovers✔️
Then I would highly recommend this book
Thank you for the author for providing this arc for my honest review.
After turning 33, Cody has accepted the fact that she’s different from her friends. With no significant other or kids she knows that she won’t be hearing those three words that she wants to hear any time soon. After meeting Crew and not wanting to be heart broken, they developed a friendship that they both aren’t willing to risk. But what happens when their feelings start turning into more than just friends.
I loved this book! I read it so quickly! I loved how sweet Crew was with Cody and how their relationship is. I truly believe that the best relationships always bloom from friendship and you have to be each other's best friends to really understand each other. Cody and Crew loved each other so much but because of her past Cody was too scared to push and admit how she really felt. I loved how playful their relationship was. This book just made me so happy!
Oh wow this book 😍😍 It was so cute Cody and Crew have my whole heart.
I loved how their friendship developed over time. It was all so relatable. I was engrossed in the story from the start.
At times they had me frustrated and I wanted to shout at them to talk to each other. But I do get where they were coming from also.
I loved the banter between them too, the nicknames made me laugh. Oh and all the ‘will they won’t they’ moments will have you turning the pages to find out what’s going to happen.
This one is not a smutty read but believe me the spice at the end is well worth waiting for. 🔥🌶️
This was an easy 5 star read for me, definitely one of my favourite reads. Highly recommend it.
Thank you to Ashlee for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
I enjoyed the first half. It pulled at my heart strings, made me bonkers, and just really was rooting for them. But the jump to 2 years later killed it for me.
TW Spiked drink. Abusive partner. Drunk driving.
It has some of the will they/won't they. But truthfully, it's also just annoying that they both kept putting themselves in the friend zone. Not only that, but Crew only coming back after Cody is about to be married to an abusive "twat", and that "twat" beats her black and blue, and then Cody and Crew get married almost immediately after. Leaves a bitter taste.
The ending is really lacking as well. I get the idea because only Crew can get her off, so it's meant to show the difference in relationships.

Ashlee has kicked my reading year off to a bang with Three Words. I was hooked from the first chapter! Crew and Cody are the sweetest couple. I loved how their relationship developed from strangers to friends to lovers. Their friendship was the best and it was great to see them become so close. I did at times want to knock their heads together and scream at the pages “say how you feel”. But the denial between the stubborn pair added to the tension of the story. I found both main characters to be unique and refreshing. Crew’s goofiness added to the banter of the story and it was easy to love his character. Such a great read!
This book brought the feels right from the start! Cody was such a great friend but so insecure with herself, it really hit home and made you just want to hug her to pieces. And, I never felt annoyed with her, she took everything in stride. Now Crew, I really could not get enough of him. He was everything anyone could want and more! I honestly was jealous of the attention Cody received from Crew. This storyline was an attention grabber and believe me when I say I went through a range of emotions from laughter to angst to happiness. It was beautiful. This book was definitely an enjoyable and spicy read!
I was really disappointed. The whole big up of he saves her from a domestic relationship and is the big hero. BOLLOCKS. At the start I didn't know who was who, it was unclear and wasn't written the best. But then the whole "hero" comes in when he leaves with Candy and not her and then Candy leaves and he returns to find her boyfriend speeding drunk and her with a slapped face. 1 slapped face is all she had, I know its bad even for a slapped face but the way hes bigged up as a hero for saving her from her abusive ex, I had expectations of a lot more to happen. (Not that I want her to get abused but yk)

This was such a cute read. I absolutely adore Crew and his fluffy/soft personality. I loved Cody and my heart hurt for her with how she viewed herself from not having settled down. I loved the friendship groups both had with their own friends. I will admit, OW/OM drama really isnt my thing in books, but i do feel like in this it was done so well. It added to the story and as much as i wanted to scream and shout at Cody and Crew to talk to each other, i got where they were both coming from. I loved how protective and caring Crew was with Cody even when they were just friends. I loved the ending to this book and seeing them finally together.
This was so cute and also almost made me cry! It’s such an emotional journey for Cody and Crew and I just wanted to yell at them and be like JUST BE HONEST with each other.
It’s a bit of a slow burn and there are definitely emotional triggers with this book, so if you have any issues with any forms of abuse, tread carefully.
It sorta reminds me of Bridesmaids. Definitely some new kinks unlocked ;) I hope we see another book about some of the other characters too, particularly two best friends ;) ;)
Friends to lovers. Absolutely loved this book, i devoured . All about the right person wrong time. Cody is just very unlucky in love. Picking the wrong guys and almost giving up on love completely. I absolutely loves the characters of Cody and Crew although sometimes you just want to shake them! I did find that sometimes the story seemed to jump through time too quickly, it almost seemed like the author just wanted to get the story over with at some points. Overall I loved it! An easy read with a bit of drama. I'm a sucker for nicknames 😍
I was not a fan of this book and I only made it about 60% of the way through before giving up. I didn’t really like the main characters - especially Cody. Crew had his moments but overall was just meh for me. The side characters were a lot more entertaining in my opinion!!
I will try to finish this book at a later time!
I’ve enjoyed the other books I’ve read by Ashlee Rose so far so I will continue to read her books!
Thank you Ashlee and your team for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
So normally I’m not that big into friends to lover BUTTTT this book changed that for me !! LORDDD I was hooked !!
The minute I started reading I couldn’t put it down !! & Yes Ashlee we love them BIG BOYS 😮💨🥰 I need me a big boy like Crew PLEASE & THANK YOU 🙌🏽
This story was just a bittersweet read, I’m so glad I got to enjoy this gem 🥹😭 my emotions were all over the place like if was me going through this friend zone 😭
This is my first book from Ashlee Rose & I’m so grateful I picked this book up!! I’ll definitely be reading more of her work !!
I couldn't put this book down. Their chemistry was mindblowing. And I love how spot on this hit with being unable to say things because we get too stuck in our own heads at times. I also loved the banter between these 2 with nicknames because my husband and I have done the same thing in the past. Can't lie.. I had a hard time reading parts of Cody's relationship with Julian but thankfully that was a very short part of the book and things quickly went in a more positive way.
Cody is single among all her married friends! She goes on lots of dates for them to end with them hopping out of her bed quickly after! On her 33rd birthday she’s out with her friends when she meets Crew! They go from strangers to best friends! Until they are not… he moves away another woman and man come into the picture! They just don’t tell each other how they feel! Will they end up together? Will it be in time? This book had me shouting at my kindle! I loved it! Honestly why do three words hold so much power? Oh and Bertie 🥹🥹
Sometimes life brings you what you want when you least expect it and when you are most definitely not looking for it. Cory is tired of of all the guys that just hop in and out of her life never staying to even try to develop a relationship. Of course she seems set on thinking differently and then when Crew comes in to her life she is not even close to expecting him or even what to do with how he is with her. I thought their relationship was so cute the way they met and he was definitely ready to pursue her, but she is not ready for him to go all in.
To start with I thought it was a bit of a slow burner, but it was well worth the wait ❤️ It’s a book that most people could relate too and is so well written. I love the fact that I can hear the way they talk as I am reading it. The story itself had me huffing when things didn’t go the way it was meant to (queue real life experience) but the HEA made me so happy I’d say the characters are both quite stubborn and shy with self doubt so makes the dynamics even more interesting, but they are both so loveable Another fab book from Ashlee, looking forward to the next one

She did it again! This book was great and I can't wait for yall to read it. Three Words had everything romance, spice, banter, silly and heartbreaking moments.
I love the banter between the two MCs and I think my one of my favorite parts were when he was coming up with silly nicknames for her it was sweet and wholesome. The dirty talk was on point as always. And the side characters…I’ve never wanted a story about the side characters more than I do right now lol
🌶🌶🌶🌶 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I absolutely loved this book! Strangers to friends to lovers romance. I love Cody and crew! Crews jokes, the banter. silly nicknames made this book fun and playful. Cody was unlucky in love and Crew was so sweet to her and protective over her and the chemistry blossomed throughout the whole book. The spice I cried at the end I loved it so much! This is now in my top 3 books! Highly recommend! 🫶🏻Thankyou for having me apart of the ARC team 🫶🏻
