One night, one mistake made my entire world crash and burn.
My band, my family’s rock music festival, my high school sweetheart — I left it all behind because of the Ramos twins.
Now, New Year’s Ball isn’t the only thing that has called me back to San Antonio. Timeless is falling apart, and all I can think about is righting my wrongs…
But every move I make is the wrong one.
Adrian has me in a chokehold, eager to pick up where we left off and pushing me back toward the band. Sacrifices are being made at Devil’s Bridge and watched over by an owl who could be the man-eating owl-witch of local legend, la lechuza — and Zak keeps flirting with danger, hanging out at the bridge while drunk because of me.
The devil is in San Antonio, and he’s coming for Timeless. We were told these were just folktales, but they’re coming to life — and they’re coming for ours.

I went into this book pretty blind. I didn't read the description, just seen it one day while scrolling and decided, hey something new. Rock Star Horror Romance.
This book was refreshing for me since I tend to read extremely darker stuff. I don't know where to begin, because there is so much to this book. There's love, betrayal, second chances on multiple levels, horror, and twists on urban legends that kept me guessing.
I fell in love with the characters, they are so written so well that I could practically feel the emotions coming off the page. I cannot wait for the next book, because the ending definitely left me with a whole lot of unanswered questions and tears in my eyes.
Because you're mine just as much as you are his. You get that, princesa? You might've been Zak's first, but you've always been mine. You've always been ours.
I went into this book completely blind and to say I was blown away would be an understatement. There is not a book out there that is even remotely similar to this and I am living for that! It was twisted and dramatic and a complete mindbender. I am obsessed with folklore and this book was full of it.
The characters, oh my goodness, Steph was so dislikable but at the same time I liked her, and the twins were utterly delicious. Whilst the book was very plot driven, the characters were well-rounded and felt real, and I loved that. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down, it just flowed so fast and well, and the cliffhanger was intense!!
Overall such an amazing book, could not recommend it more!

Adrian kisses me as if I hold all the precious oxygen left in this world and he’s on his final breath.
❤︎ ARC provided in exchange for an honest review ❤︎
Holy shit. The speed in which i read this was just wow. I was hanging on. The perfect blend of spice - drama - tension - mistakes and paranormal. Everything hit my check list and i am kinda hoping the twins are end game
I loved this and can’t wait for everyone to read it ! Bring on book 2 I gotta see where this story goes !
This is so bizarre and I kind of loved it. Jennifer's Body vibes if it was a love triangle with Latine inspired folklore and cryptids. We didn't get nearly enough background info or world building, but I kept reading because I NEEDED to know wtf was going on lol. I've seen that we're supposed to get a ton more back history in book two and I feel like that will help explain a lot. Also, Adrian has a hell of mouth on him 🥴 this book is worth a read for his scenes alone
Um. I am not exactly sure where I want to start with this review. I went into it like “okay, this seems cool,” and I LOVED it! I went in thinking this is a rock star romance (a fave trope of mine) with like a little folklore sprinkled in but NOPE. NOT a sprinkle and I am here for it! The story takes place in San Antonio, Texas only a hop skip and a jump from Mexico where a lot of ancient folklore and ritualistic practices come from. The stories are known all around town and the legends aren’t just legends — they’re real, and they’re after the FMC and MMCs of “Anything for the Devil.” I recently dabbled in a paranormal romance and it was not for me, but this? I imagined the story of the Mothman of West Virginia come to life and I 👏🏼 WAS 👏🏼 SOLD 👏🏼
I read this book in one sitting because I did not want to put it down. The story begins centered around the return of our FMC, Stephani, after two long years away in Hotlanta, Georgia. She left behind her family and family business, her band, and her high school sweetheart all because of one drunken mistake. Timeless (her old band) is literally shitting the bed, fighting each other with tension always running high, and Stephani is to blame… sorta. Adrian Ramos, the mistake, is stuck to her like glue, while his twin, Zak Ramos, is trying to stay as far away from her as he can — including the bottom of a bottle, always walking in the dark alone along Devil’s Bridge. As much as she tries, she is right back into the drama she left but this time, Zak has sold his soul to the devil and one day, he’ll want to collect. How far will Stephani go to make it up to Zak? Will Adrian ever leave her alone? Is la lechuza real and after her? Damn the Devil and his evil ways.
FIRST of all, the mouth on Adrian should be illegal and his perusal of Stephani is obsessive but oh so hot. The other Ramos twin, Zak, we haven’t gotten to dive too far into him yet because he’s essentially heartbroken the entirety of this book, but with his tattoos and piercings, I have high hopes for him in book 2! I have a lot of theories on how this love triangle will go but I’m sure I am not even close because I thought I was on top of what was going to happen next and NOPE. very wrong. most of the time. I was not expecting to like this as much as I did because my last paranormal-like book was an epic fail. I am a sucker for a band romance and then when you add in urban legends and twins, I’m sold.
“Anything for the Devil” was unlike anything I have read before. I was hooked from the start and flew through every chapter like my hair was on fire. Aurora Graves has a way of mixing two tropes that probably shouldn’t go together but they do here and they rock (see what I did there😉) Not all characters are lovable, but how often do you like every person you meet? It’s a story of real life mistakes and how to manage the aftermath — even if it’s dowsed in gasoline and lit with a match. The overall spooky vibes are great and again, keep you guessing. San Antonio has made its way up my list of places I want to visit.. just saying 🤓
Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️ Spice: 3/5 🌶️
Tropes: ☠️ Rock star romance ☠️ Second chances ☠️ Love triangle ☠️ Unlikeable FMC ☠️ Enemies to lovers ☠️ Paranormal-ish
WHAAATTT!!!?????!!! I did not just read a “rockstar/celebrity romance.” No, I read a Aurora Graves hørrør rockstar book with paranormal elements. Wow, just wow. I should know by now that Aurora would make my heart race, and I would be stunned. “Anything for the Devil” may start like a rockstar love triangle romance, but it is more than that. The town where the story takes place is pretty eery with the practices known to happen, but then the reader is distracted by the love triangle story to focus on until—bam. It’s quite the bam, too. Heads up, there’s a cliffhanger.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
What a crazy ride this has been... With all the action and plot this book has, it definitely hooks you.. wondering what will happen next. Until next time. . I can't wait to see what happens to Timeless.
Anything for the Devil was very different from anything I’ve read…maybe ever. It was this crazy combination of a rock band, a love triangle…which in itself is dramatic enough BUT then we throw in Mexican Folklore that is very very real. The story really circles around La Lechuza, which if you don’t know Mexican/Texano folklore is essentially a witch who shape-shifts into a gigantic owl who feeds on grown ass men. Creepy right?! I will admit I had to look up some of these folk characters as I was not familiar at all. Doing this honestly really helped me navigate the book better. This book is really fast paced and once you get into it you’re literally done before you know it. I was not a big fan of Stephani our FMC…but I was. Our relationship is complicated right now. The Ramos twins, Adrian and Zak, are 🥵. *panting*. They both love Stephani and to be honest I’m hoping the 3 of them can make it happen. Adrian has my heart pumping with his filthy mouth and his sexy as sin tattoos BUT we also didn’t really get to delve much into Zak and I think I’m gonna really love him too! Isn’t it easier to not have to choose?? Every character in this book has significance so don’t exclude anyone. I’m looking forward to the second one as I think it’s gonna be even faster paced and spicy!
Thanks to Aurora Graves for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I’m a very picky reader, but sometimes I’ll get into certain reading moods, where I’ll read something that perhaps any other time I may dnf or it won’t have my type of heroine for example-so I will bail early…this book should’ve been a book I put down, but something about it made me keep reading, I was really enraptured with all the drama with these characters and the folklore stuff piqued my interest.
I actually think the combination of it being a fairly short read, along with the rock romance, love triangle, folklore aspect, and the flawed heroine that wasn’t exactly likable, plus the toxic chemistry with the main male leads made the story feel more exciting and real, even though there’s a scary element to it, it all mixed together shouldn’t have worked for me personally, but it did. I couldn’t stop reading and although this isn’t exactly my typical read….I like dark romance and gothic romance, but I haven’t liked much of the folklore reads I have tried in the past, so this one was both entertaining and passed the time.
The only thing I would’ve changed would be to add in some transitional scenes. Like one second they’re talking on a sidewalk and next thing it says is they’re driving. Maybe just a quick sentence of dialogue exchange as they hop in the car to smooth that out, so the story flows a bit better.
There was a scene in particular, where I had to go back and reread a tiny line I missed where the fmc said “I think I left my clothes in the bathroom”. Prior to that we knew she had nothing on but a big shirt on, so in the next scene when the mmc was “unbuttoning her jeans” I’m like huh? What jeans lol. When did she even put her clothes back on? There was nothing written about her changing, only that she thought she may have left them there. I guess I’m weird because as the mmc was undoing her clothes, I was still thinking she never found her clothes in the bathroom since there was no scene saying she got changed.
I guess I’m weird but just a few instances of those things which had me combing back over words looking for a sentence or two I missed where maybe someone did something or something happened that wasn’t described to the reader but something is implied and we are to fill in the blank. I’d rather know for sure then it be loosely implied, because then I know for sure where the story is going and I don’t need to go back and double check to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
Also, I love character descriptions, everything from their hair, lashes, their voice, imperfections, lips, chin cleft, vices, quirks, mannerisms etc, imo you can’t have too much, because it builds up the characters better in your mind. This book I struggled a bit with seeing everyone and there’s quite a few different people in the story, so I would’ve liked to see them a bit better with more descriptions for each character, so I can see each person more vividly throughout.
It’s also a crazy cliffhanger ending, and I had no idea before diving in. I thought it was a standalone, so that’s totally on me. I still have a lot of questions and like I said, this heroine is not exactly my type. She didn’t make me dnf so that’s a plus, but I’m still undecided when it comes to her. I like that she’s flawed and makes mistakes, I mean she’s human and she’s not exactly brass knuckle, but she’s dealing with her own past mistakes & demons and perhaps let’s her passions consume her a bit much. I found her very indecisive when it came to both of the brothers. I’m hoping this all ends well lol 😂 it was definitely a nice way to escape and was worth reading something out of my typical genres.
Breakdown: (look away possible spoilers)
Love triangle Twin brothers Cheating trope Toxic romance Degradation Tatted twin brothers Twin mmcs have piercings Cliffhanger Steamy scenes h ran away from the band years ago h comes back to town to help her parents with the band Setting -Texas Folklore aspect, bruja, horror, dark magic, witchcraft Flawed heroine who is unlikeable and wavers between brothers Music industry Twin H’s and the rest of the crew are in a band called Timeless Told linear (but mentions of the past are reflected throughout) Twin H proposed onstage when she was with the band and she said no, moved away and ghosted everyone because she cheated and didn’t want to face the music Other Twin she cheated with, they both were drunk at the time Aiden (twin 1) and Stephanie have a very toxic relationship Zac (twin 2) is her ex, the one she was dating steadily for years, but refused to marry and left because she slept with Aiden, she didn’t want to stick around and ruin the band or mess things up even more so she moved away and left him & the band Unique story, I would’ve liked it to be a bit more descriptive and fleshed out
Love triangle, rockstar romance and cheating… 3 things I hate and actively stay away from BUT SOMEHOW, Aurora has made me eat my words because I absolutely loved this!
Now it did take a me about 2 chapters to really get a feel for it and become invested but once I got going I quite literally couldn’t stop reading it. I flew through %60 of this in one sitting.
Stephani comes back to her home town of San Antonio, TX after a year and a half away and discovers the band she left is not the same band before her now. Her band mates are Robbie, Shannon, and the Ramos Twins: Adrian and Zak. We find out the reason she left and whewww baby is it messy.
Aurora says this has an unlikable FMC, and while I do think some won’t vibe with her, I freaking LOVED Steph’s character! She was such a real and flawed character that was easy to connect with because she’s just so..idk human!!
The folk horror that’s presented in this was awesome as hell and is perfectly suitable for anyone looking for some spooky-ness!
I hate the way his hands clutch my hips, the way his fingers dig into my flesh. I hate the way he groans through gritted teeth. I hate the way his eyes eat me alive. I hate how it all makes me ride him harder.

I'M FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW AFTER READING THAT SHOCKING ENDING... I MEAN... WHAT THE F JUST HAPPENED??
I have to say the suspense and that wild twister of an ending made this one a five star read for me. I seriously am beyond shocked and apparently can't stop talking about it.😅
It took me a while to relate to all the characters and understand what was happening. But then, the story picks up in such a way that it grabs you and doesn't let go till the last page.
Steph is back in town and now has to face what she left behind. Not only did she hurt her close family and friends but she also ran away to get away from her mistakes.
Steph might be back but she feels the burns of the hurts she left behind but also feels overwhelmed as her bandmates want her back and everyone just wants her to stay no matter what.
Steph hates to see the pain in her ex-boyfriend's eyes. Moreover, Zak still seems to look at her as if he's never moved on. Add to it that she can't stop feeling the pull she feels towards Zak's twin brother, Adrian and try as she might she hates the lusty things he makes her feel and also the unwanted feelings.
Steph's ex bandmates are awesome and they are more of a family to her. Shannon, the twins' sister's husband was the mature one and the way he is so cool and shows Steph things in a different light, really made me look up to him. Shannon gave me the sweet, elder brother kinda vibes for sure.
But oh my goodness... Weird things are happening from mysterious sacrifices found in the forest to the shrouded in the dark figure on the bridge. Add to it that Zak is starting to behave unusually as she finds him unaware, on the bridge outside and the biggest of them all, When Steph finds herself face to face with the truth of the legend of La Lechuza being real.
Wow, this one balanced the Paranormal shades with the suspense along with the family drama and the love equation that was going on. Although, the revelations will certainly shock you when they come, I have to say the biggest shocker was that ending when one after another, things are revealed and when everything seems to be spiralling out of control, comes the biggest shocker of them all.
Yes, there's the biggest cliffy there but I just love cliffies like these that just hangs me on the edge of suspense so good, I have to straight run into grabbing and starting the next book in the series. Ahh....what a Wild, Wild ride. Loved loved this one.❤️❤️❤️
Ehhhh. I think the premise is here and if it had more cohesive on what it wanted to be it would've been better.
I had a couple problems:
- The vague booking about the Ty guy? Who even was he? He comes across as a boyfriend but Stephani is like oh no he's my "best friend*. huh? but I thought Shannon was? And then it's Dree(Adrian?)? and then it's apparently uhhhh.... I dunno the chick with the stripper sounding name, Destiny maybe? I don't know I've literally just put this thing down and forgotten most of the details.
- The New Years Ball ™️. What the fuck is this. It's never really explained what it is, a music festival? a ball?????Her family does this only as a job? How does that pay the bills? It's 1 day? Also, you're telling me the twins family is rich enough for a "estate" from 1 store.
- San Antonio is a large city no? Why does this read as small town. I'm so fucking confused about the geography.
- I can't believe (well I can considering the things I've read) that Stephani says she doesn't want to have a dude finish in her because she doesn't want to get pregnant and then.... about 2 chapter later she's like YOLO. 😑😑
-Love triangle. Can't stand it here and normally I'd be laughing maniacally in the corner about the pain of the 📐.
- The folklore is good, I'll give it that. But it's not interesting enough to read more of these, there's TOO MUCH going on and none of it jives by the end.
It's got good bones theoretically but a landlord has unfortunately plastered a bunch of bondo on the walls of this book, not sanded it whatsoever and called er good. Oh and they've painted over 6 moths and 4 light switches.
I couldn't put this one down. I was hooked within the first few chapters and wanted to know everything. This does end on a cliffhanger. Book 2 is slated for later this summer.
This book was amazing! It's a rockstar romance with some paranormal elements. Think brujas and those cultural elements. I love how at first the FMC kinda plays it off like a joke, but it's real, and it gets real fast.
Tropes: You've got friends to lovers, exs with major history and unfinished business, band mates with history, tension with friends, friends with benefits, Paranormal, I did think it was going to be MFM for a minute but I feel like it's going to MF there's just so much history with the FMCs ex I'm interested to see how it will go. The MMC keeps calling the FMC our girl but also his girl. Either way, the FMC is clearly in love with both. I also love that the FMC isn't instantly forgiven for everything they did. The devil deals are interesting, and honestly, the last 5 pages I wish had more cause that twist made me go 😯.
It was spicy. There are very few books that get that element of hate sex just right and honestly I think Aurora did a great job you could feel the resistance with the FMC and the MMC but also the chemistry and their pull together.
Congratulations on your book!! From your author's note, you can see how much this book series means to you, and I really think you did 14-year-old you proud. The world building and character development is spot on for the story development. I so look forward to more books by you!
"Because you're mine just as much as you are his. You get that, princesa? You might've been Zak's first, but you've always been mine. You've always been ours."
I went into The First Deal nearly blind, and OH MY GOD. I DEVOURED Grave's first novel. I went in, knowing this was a rock star romance. And what we got was a gorgeous, gruesome, masterpiece.
I don't know a lot about Mexican folklore, so I was confused at times, and honestly should've researched before diving in head first. But I feel like I was able to get a better grasp of the legends as I read, which is a huge plus.
I totally felt bad for the guys, hearing their side after Stephani left the band and San Antonio "for good". They needed her, and she left. At times, I didn't like Stephani, but she proved herself in the end. The entire book, their relationships to each other, were very relatable, and reflected some in my own.
The combination of tropes, and genres was done so well; the dark romance, the folklore, the horror. Something you don't see very often, and Graves knocks it out of the park.
There's so many twists and turns and the CLIFFHANGER?
"I hate you." // "Then f*ck me like you hate me."
“All anyone’s gonna see is the shitty things you did in a moment of weakness, no matter how much good you do or how much you wanna make things right.”
tropes // love triangle, rockstar, paranormal, second chance,
“I finally got a taste of what it would be like to keep you, and I’m not about to let that go.”
This is the first book of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. As always, please check triggers before reading!
I went into this book completely blind, thinking it was just another rockstar romance. I was blown away and shocked by how wrong I was. From the beginning, you’re sucked into the story, and at times, I felt the emotions and the situations the FMC was going through. I have also read paranormal books, but none compare to the folklore horror that Aroura Graves put into this story.
Even though this is a relatively short novel, the characters felt real and very well-rounded and diverse in their personalities. Steph, our FMC, holds onto a lot of guilt, whishing for a second chance to erase her mistakes. Our twins, Adrian and Zak, have secrets and mixed feelings about Steph’s return home. You can tell very early in the book that something weird is going on in the town, and the plot twist/cliffhanger at the end was so shocking. This book had my heart beating out of my chest with anticipation!
I can't wait to read the next book in the series Anything for the Devil: The Second Deal.
“You know what I like about you.” “What?” “I like that you still see the best in me even if I think I lost it.”
Holy freaking hell shit this book surprised me in a very exciting way. I don’t like cheating trope so I was very apprehensive that what to think about it and how to react to things at first but when I got the hang of it then damm it’s blowing my mind now. How?? I mean how could you turn the events so vastly?? Aurora Graves hats off to you to pull up such an interesting plot for your debut writing.
I am intrigued and I am very excited about the second book now. There are so many questions I want answers to. The love triangle going on here is not what I want, I want it to be both of them. Ahhhhh I want so many things here for Stephani and the guys and that can be easily attainable but this story has proved that nothing comes the easy way and now I’m just guessing that ‘will it happen’ or not or I’ll be left heartbroken here??
Zak is sweet, Dree is the shit one but by the end, I really started liking his character. He had a growth that changed my perspective. The other characters are mysteries in their own form and way. The Paranormal meets the Rockstars, I am thrilled with this concept and I am bouncing on my heels to know what more this series is to offer to make me go all gaga over it again.
The song Zak wrote “Dawn” is amazingly beautiful and leave’s you with emotions you’ll think about before feeling. It’s touching and incredible.
I freaking loves this book. First time reading something by Aurora Graves but it won't be the last. Check your trigger warnings before reading because it gets dark. Its a dark rockstar romance, love triangle with folk horror twists.
We have our FMC Stephani who left her home a couple of years ago without any explanation, she left everyone and everything behind, her boyfriend who proposed to her, her friends, her family, her job, and her band. But she comes back and that's where the story starts. She comes back and has a lot of grovelling to do with her friends and family. But the story takes some very dark turns along the way. So in between trying to get her life back on track and trying to be happy again she finds herself between the devil and his diciples.
Our FMC goes through a learning process seeing the cause of her actions and trying to deal with that. On top of all that, the feelings from before come right back and take her down a delicious path with the twins.
I've loved horror movies and this story with the folk horror twist is so good, i didn't want to stop reading. I loved every second of it and it ends on a cliffhanger, which is ....... I'm very excited for the second book.
WOW!! What an adrenaline packed, exciting and utterly suspenseful story that was. It was one hell of a crazy rollercoaster ride that I never wanted to end.
The story burst out of the pages at 100 miles an hour and didn’t slow down one bit. I was riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of what was going to happen next, and shocked over all of the crazy things that kept happening. It was the perfect blend of action, suspense, mystery, tension, drama and spicy moments all packed into a dark and twisted PNR story with an ending I wasn’t expecting.
It was also filled with such raw and gritty emotions that had me shedding a tear or two over all of the pain, anger and heartbreak that was revealed throughout the story. And all of the horror/gore creepy moments kept me wondering who are these men and why would they make deals with the devil.
I loved all of the crazy rockstar moments and all of the dark and twisted folklore elements sprinkled in. Now I can’t wait to see how much more the story is going to delve further into the PNR portion of it and what the hell is going to happen now to Stephani.
I randomly came across Aurora in a Dark Romance group on FB where every week you get to sign up for ARCs and I saw her link and clicked it. When I originally applied, book 1 & 2 were out and book 3 was due to be released, I DEVOURED every single one of these books and since then have gotten to know her as an author and a person. The way she advocates a safe space for her readers genuinely amazes me.
Anyway, In book 1 after moving across the country to run away from her ex-boyfriend after a proposal onstage in front of the world Stephanie finds herself back in San Antonio for the New Years Ball her family throws every year. But she just can’t shake the Ramos twins from underneath her skin.
The lead in their band Timeless, since she left it has fallen apart. With sacrifices being made, Adrian pushing her back towards the band and Zak determined to uncover the real reason she left, can the man-eating owl-with of local legend protect them? Or will they have to sacrifice themselves at Devil’s bridge in order to be able to move forward with their lives?
Screaming. Crying. Throwing up from how gruesome that ending was💀
The vibes, the vibes, THE VIBES!!! I absolutely loved the fvck out of this world & being steeped in San Antonian folklore. There’s just something so darkly delicious about metal core mixed with southern gothic nightmares.
This is a paranormal book so when I tell you to suspend your reality brain & expect the unexpected around every turn I can’t state that more clearly.
We know going in that la lechuza the man-eating, humanoid owl makes an appearance but there’s much more lurking just beneath the surface👀
These b!tches was so messy too & I LOVED IT. The “chisme” was piping hot (to quote Aurora). I loved than she labeled Steph as an “unlikeable” FMC because so rarely do we read about FMCs that are purposefully flawed. I just felt closer to her & automatically wanted to understand her actions.
Last but certainly not least…NOBODY TALK TO ME ABOUT THAT ENDING. SO MUCH WAS FLYING AT MY FACE & I KEPT ACCIDENTALLY SKIPPING AHEAD & EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING & THEN IT JUST ENDED.
So if it wasn’t clear, yes this ends on a cliffy, yes it does hurt & yes we already have a tentative release date for the second one🥲
Anything for the devil, wasn’t what I expected. It was way better. I was expecting a rockstar romance and got so so much more. I’m not sure if you would classify it as paranormal but it’s definitely not your normal rockstar romance. It takes place in San Antonio, TX which isn’t far from Mexico. There is Latin inspired forklore, legends and rituals. Stephani (our FMC)comes back home after running off and being in ATL, Ga for a year and half. She returns home to try and make amends for a mistake she made which caused a riff in everyone’s life that she left behind. When she returns she realizes nothing is really the way it was and there is someone who has been performing rituals near the bridge in town. Without giving away too much I will just say this book will hook you and keep you stuck till you finish. I’m still reeling from the last few pages and about to start the second book. 4/5 ⭐️ 4/5🌶️
Who doesn’t love when the main character is stuck in a love triangle with metalcore twins?! sign me up!!!!
I love that this book talks about Mexican and Texano folklore. I like my books dark and spooky! The author really kept you on a rollercoaster of a ride through the eyes of former Timeless band member Stephani Wade. She really messed up a whole lot ever since she up and left the band behind because she cheated on her boyfriend Zak, band member and Ramos twin. All the while she is realizing all of these folklore stories been told are real. When she returns home the people she left behind aren’t the same people anymore. They’re more than people. This book leaves you wondering if she will become one of these legends as well. Until then we are left with a cliffhanger until the next book in the series releases!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I started this book late last night and only got a few chapters in before I NEEDED to get some sleep lol but as soon as I picked this book back up I couldn’t put it down! I ate this book up and loved every minute of it! I loved the Mexican folklore, a love triangle is always fun to read about and a little hate f*cking is always hot 🥵 Those Ramos boys are something else! I wish I got to learn a little more about Zak but he was so heartbroken and shocked by seeing Stephani again, I can understand that his story was a little less in this story. Adrian’s possessiveness sure is something else but you can’t help but love how he talks to Stephani 🔥 at first I couldn’t stand it but after reading more with him, I fell in love with his character. I so hope those boys win in the end and everyone gets what they want. And I really hope to learn more about Zaks personality in the second book!
Stephani comes back to her hometown after many years of avoiding her past mistakes. She keeps finding herself coming back to her ex's (Zak) twin brother, Adrian, and struggles with wanting to rejoin the band. She soon finds out that not everything is the way she left it though. Mexican folklore and childhood horror stories are coming to life around her.
First of all, I love that this book is surrounded by Metalcore music because that is one of my favorite things to listen to, and wish this book came with a playlist!
This book had so much suspense, twist, turns, horror, and spice. I LOVED it. I honestly couldn't guess what was going to happen before it happened which, in my book, makes it that much better because it was full of surprises. There were even a couple of times when I was questioning, "Is this really happening?..... Oh, she's into it." LMAO The ending left on a cliffhanger and I am so eager to read The Second Deal!
[Snack-Size Review] Anything for the Devil: The First Deal, by Aurora Graves
Quick Bite: Smutty, but also a fun supernatural story.
What It’s About: Stephani Wade left San Antonio and her hardcore metal band, Timeless, in disgrace after she cheated on her boyfriend Zak with his twin brother, Adrian. But now she’s back to try to fix things. There’s just a few teensy little problems - a couple of devils, a vampire, and at least one horrid owl creature. Oh, and Adrian wants to pick back up right where they left off.
A Word From The Nerd: I don’t read a lot of erotica, because frankly, a lot of it is ridiculous. And yeah, the “hooking up with twins” thing is kinda gross. But I am definitely into the heavy metal and folklore, so I’ll keep going.
The Nerd’s Rating: FOUR HAPPY NEURONS (and some margaritas, hold the sadness.)
What a perfect combination of all the things I love!!! The tension between Stephani, Zak, and Adrian, you could cut with a knife! The emotions felt between Zak and Stephani made me shed actual tears. Adrian is all consuming fire and brimstone and the chemistry between him and Stephani is just indescribable. The folk horror aspects of this book were so incredibly interesting! The spice in this did not disappoint. Anddddd let me tell you, as a metalcore lover, myself, my soul was so happy with all the music references! Ends on a cliffy and I cannot wait to see what happens next!!!! Tropes: Rockstars Second chance Love Triangle Enemies to lovers Folk horror Making Deals with the Devil ❤️🔥Ratings:❤️🔥 Story: 5/5 Spice: 3/5 Emotional Damage: 3/5 Overall: 4.5/5
A rock star romance duet, with a dark, folk-lore twist and dipped in horror. High emotion read, with a lot of angst. Could feel the hatred and anger written into the spewed words from those surrounding Stephani.
Stephani, running almost two years after breaking away from every relationship. Coming back home to mend the band Timeless
The twins: Adrian on the drums & Zak on guitar Robbie is on bass and Stephani's brother. Shannon, vocalist, and the twins' brother-in-law.
Offerings on Devil's Bridge, la lechuza, a fang baby, the dancing devil, and so many more 👀 lots of drama and angst with some mild heat 🔥
Single POV throughout, hoping now that a few questions were answered at the cliffhanger that it will get expanded out to multiple.
What a frigging ride!! Wow. Just wow! I’ll start this review by saying, I’ve visited San Antonio and the creepy cool vibes I felt during my visit were eerily, yet alluringly, illustrated in this book.
I don’t listen to metal. Or even rock. Yet, I was seamlessly pulled into this world and boy what a ride!
The author takes care to give us complex characters that you can’t help but root for…even the devil. I enjoyed the backstory and folklore built within.
There are definitely some triggering thematic elements, but they all fused nicely and were purposeful to the story not just dropped in.
I loved this book and can’t wait for the second installment. I NEED to know what happens AFTER our MC says “yes.” 🖤
Anything For The Devil is deliciously written with a good balance of steamy smut and folklore ‘which I do believe in the unknown and mystery within the stories that’s been told for centuries by our ancestors’. It’s like keeping those folklores and our ancestors alive while telling another story within another and create a world where it all can live on.’ With music in a way with some, you do sell your soul for something you think is the best but ends up being far from it. The ending to book 1 will have you wanting more because this isn’t the typical sell your soul to the devil-situation when all you want is something more pure in a way that you’ll just have to figure out for yourself. My goddess, Aurora thank you for your gift!!
