The healing child. Still a menace to society. The victorious one.
The summer is colder than it’s ever been for Koya Priest. Balancing a new relationship while ending another, she faces her reality head-on. Owning up to her deception, Koya holds her head high while letting the speculators know she regrets nothing that concerns Parish. With past traumas lingering, can she love him fully, or will her beautifully flawed layers cause her to miss out on the first real love she’d experienced?
Recklessly out for revenge, Parish Sneaux stands on all ten toes behind his family. Sticking to the code, he gets his lick back on every person who violated him. Right by his side is Koya. Fully welcoming her presence, Parish finds himself locked in with her like never before. Their love is middle of the ocean, deep, penetrating parts of their soul that almost turn them toxic. He’s committed to making them work, even if that means tapping into a side of him that needs to heal, too.
With the odds against him, Vezzo Fallago vows not to give up. The Eastside taught him how resilient he has to be and what it takes to make it out of the hood. While the scandal unfolds, his friendship with Daisy seems to be the only good thing blossoming. She’s rooting for him at every stage of the unfair game he’s playing and is ready to see him win. That was the only option; there was no returning to where he came from, and Vezzo meant it.
In the finale of this coming-of-age urban romance tale, relationships are severed, patience is tested, and intentions are doubted. It’s a cold world in the summer, and it's best to bundle up if you want to make it to the winter.

I hate to see this story end. Koya and Parish were by far the best characters of the book. I've said it before, and I will say it again. Parish and Koya gave Big Boogie and Glorilla energy the whole chapter 15.
Idk! Parish may be my favorite BriAnn character so far! Whew him and Koya was that good toxic and I loved it! I also liked the storyline with Vezzo! He’s coming into age and following his dreams! I would like a little story line to see how it turns out for him! This was a great series! All four books were 🔥
I'm glad I read part 1 yesterday because this one just dropped today and I had to read it. Koya and Parish are now one of my favorite book couples. They may be throwed off a bit but they complement each other so well. I love how we got to see them be vulnerable with themselves and each other in book 2. I also love how they were there for each other. With the way their relationship developed. It being a whirlwind romance I just knew there was going to be a lot of obstacles in the second part. Surprisingly there weren't. There was a little drama but nothing like I thought. I'm not mad about it, I really enjoyed them focusing on each other. This might have been an urban tale but the love story of these two was really sweet. Their chemistry was on point. It was in the first book and I'm glad that it still felt the same in this finale. I can honestly say this is going on the list as one of my favorite urban fiction romances.
I’m truly sad that this series is over… Parish and Koya compliment each other so well. I literally start smiling so hard when I think of them. I loved how vulnerable they were with each other, toxicity and all. & every time Parish said “mamas” 🥹. Yeahhhhhh!
I was confused on Vezzo story until we got here to book two and I can now say that I did appreciate his story and so happy everything worked out for him in the end. He deserved it!
Parish have definitely been added to my book boyfriend list, for sure! I’ll miss you bae 😭
I had a time with Parish & Koya. Them two are something else! Lol
I’m glad everything worked out with Vezzo. Him & Daisy were cute. His brother Adrien might got something going onnnnn. Would love to see a book about him.
I’m slick glad that I couldn’t finish as fast as I wanted to, because I didn’t want it to end and could continue in their world. Urban romance is not even my favorite genre (I like it, don’t get me wrong), but Ms. Bri… The way she writes… even though the story is full of the drama… personally, I find it kind of cozy. Maybe it’s the details or the simple, realistic banter… but you become engulfed and made to feel like you’re in on the intimate relationships. I also believe my experience was heightened, because per usual… I’m a character development/series kind of girl, and this is like the 4th book in the series. So, you’ll have to read the others for the best experience.
I was getting “Front St.Porter - On Us “ vibes from this series which is definitely a good thing, because I love that series. It’s not the same, but made me think about it a little. I enjoyed the sibling relationships. Kavalli.. a NUT in a hut, lol. I always say I have a sweet spot for black contemporary romance, but it’s even sweeter when it comes with some laughs. Briann will have you cackling, and that’s that on that 🤭.
It was great to learn more about Parish’s background. I just know there will be more to the series with more characters, because I’m trying to learn more about these people that are popping up from Big P’s past. However, you’re not left in a cliffhanger or anything. Still very enjoyable. The freaking cuteness between Daisy and Vezzo, I cannotttt. I just love them. Yall.. this might be a spoiler, but… We get a tiny appearance from Lo and Projex, my babies 🥹
Ohhh, and the spice is 1000/5, so just know this is not PG-13, lmbo
I’d love to say more, but wouldn’t want to reveal too much. Just know, my first and second 5 star read of the year have come from Ms. Bri. I’d recommend.
Chileee, this was hands down my FAVORITE series! Them Priest brothers and their sister too? Whewwww, they were not to be played with. Every page had me locked in. I loved every second of this book!
Koya? Babygirl had some deep healing to do. Her past trauma was holding her back, and you could feel how much it was getting in the way of her growth. But her and Parish? They were meant for each other. I was rooting for them like they was my cousins or something!
Now let’s get into my mannnnnnnnn baby, Parish is MINE now. That “Mamas” he be saying? Got me blushing through the pages! I still hear it in my head like a love song. The way he grew in this book? Chef’s kiss. Through all the chaos, that man stood ten toes down for Koya. He LOVED that woman and was willing to go to war for her, no questions asked.
And even with his past creeping back in, and him tryna keep his fam afloat when they couldn’t catch a break? He still held it down like a real one.
Now Vezzo? They really thought he was down bad but he came back swinging! Baby boy let them know he was NOT the one to play with. All them secrets flying around, all that pressure, and he still stood tall. I see nothing but NBA lights in his future he a star, period.
5/5⭐️5/5🥵 - Yeahhhh this was the one! I enjoyed this from beginning to end!
- Koya was still Koya... she managed to piss me off even in this book! She was still petty but she was there for Parish when he needed her so shes a star in my book. However the reason I enjoyed this book so much was because of my man Parish! He just moved different in this book! He had a point to prove and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved his character the most honestly.
- The side characters Arvez and Daisy were so cute. Vezzo was a basketball champ and Daisy was out here giving back to the community frfr not for the net. I loved the YA vibes from their side story. I enjoyed Parish and Koya relationship growing in this book. Like they were still mad petty but they also started to build a real bond. Parish was so sweet with Koya and wasn't scared to cause hell in the streets and I loved it. I enjoyed pretty much everything and was giddy the whole time I was reading it. Real urban fiction but not in a toxic trauma dumping way. Sad to say bye to them honestly.
So part 2 is a lot gentler than part 1. Still some hood 🥷🏾 shenanigans going on but it’s very calm after the storm. It started out with a BANG picking up from the mic drop at the end of SS1. I was on pins and needles as that played out.
This time around we get to see Koya and Parish fall deeper and become softer with each other. They absolutely brought the drama though. I just knew he was about to whoop some tail when he found Koya in the club. What was our good sis thinking? She was way foul for that.. I’m team Parish all day! I loved seeing them open up more about their pasts and calm it down though. I really enjoyed their transformation from SS1.
Vezzo and Daisy were the cutest! That high school love is unforgettable and he’s such a young gentleman. The scandal with Coach Wilkins was wild and I’m still kind of curious what happened to him but he was foul so will let him stay gone! Everyone’s HEA was perfect!
BriAnn Danae knows how to grab me and keep me in a chokehold because I live for this entire series! I will say as the series went on, there were some characters that shifted their rank in my mind but in the end, I was happy with all of the outcomes. I try not to give spoilers, but I just need to say that when we met Koya, she instantly became a fav, however, after finishing this book, I’m giving baby girl the side eye. The Priest brothers are all still giving BDE, and that’s never going to change it’s just now intensified with the love they show their women😩. Now lets me get to my favorite character Vezzo!!!! I absolutely loved him and his family and the way BriAnn crafted his “get back” in this book 😆 on the big screen, really???? I’m sad to see this series end, but like other books, hopefully, these characters will pop up in other books because I enjoyed them way too much to say goodbye forever! I wonder what the Urban Romancer will come up with next 🤔 it doesn’t matter because I’ll be there for the ride!
I loved reading Koya and Parish’s story. They are the true definition of enemies to lovers and the perfect matching energy.
With each other they found a love neither of them expected. They loved hard and didn’t play about each other, and that allowed them to grow as individuals as well. They became each others safe spaces and expressed past traumas as they worked through them. They really just give you all the feels. They’re basically another favorite couple of mime in BriAnn Denae’s universe.
I also loved the update on Vezzo’s story. I’m happy his family got back their missing piece and they became complete. Although faced with adversities, Vezzo had a strong support system to help him as he continued to work towards his hoops dreams. His and Daisy’s story was cute to read as well.
This was a great ending. I’m so happy for Vezzo and his family, they got everything that was deserving of them. Having his big brother home was everything they both needed plus still gave Krypt and the family. Him and Daisy were to adorable!!!!
Now, Parish and Koya was something else still. Honestly, all of their problems stemmed from Koya just being extremely childish and not being able to control her emotions smh. Parish had been locked in with her from the start but she was making things harder than they needed to be. I am glad that they got closer by sharing things from the past and Koya even going to see a therapist to ge better. Maybe need a update later on. Great job BriAnn !!!
Kavalli really is a clown🤣🤣🤣 like I can’t take him serious… but I loves me some Parish but when my man (Projex) popped out I just knew I was gon be rereading his books by the end of the week. Now I really wanna read about Adrien and Ms. Moraye…. But as always I really enjoyed this series… I just know Koya gon be pregnant sometime soon tho, that girl said “put me in your pocket and let’s go” and I felt that with my entire being🤣🤣🤣🤣 amazing job well done BriAnn Danae
It took me a little longer to read than I expected, but I enjoyed every minute of this book. It was well written, flowed well, kept my attention and the character development was absolutely awesome. The relationship that Koya had with her brothers and their mother was strong. Koya and Parish’s relationship went through a lot, but it definitely made them stronger. I loved the cameo appearance of Projex and his family I can’t wait to see what BriAnn has in store for us next.
Parish was everything, his maturity showed throughout the story. When he loved he loved hard, he was all the way in. Koya was very immature throughout the story and didn’t start growing until Parish opened up to her about his past trauma. I’m glad she’s going to get counseling for her issues as well.
Glad Vezzo and his family got their happy ending as well. Vezzo was such a sweet young man. He deserved nothing but happiness. I loved Shantel as well. She didn’t play about her children.
This was the perfect ending for Parish and Koya's relationship. They were both trying to navigate life after losing both parents, which drew them closer because they could relate to the loss. I was happy that Vezzo got the chance to pursue his basketball dreams with the support of his family. I loved how mature he was. His story was one I hoped had a positive outcome after all the scandal. In the end, everyone's lives moved in the right direction, full of positivity and new beginnings.
Parish and Koya continued their blossoming relationship and things only became stronger with them. He gave her his vulnerable sides that only she could pull from him. She got all of his past secret, as well as he did hers. Vezzo continued his journey with successfully playing basketball at his dream school. Although things started off rocky at Pearson, he managed to come out on top! Adrian did as well. Their family couldn't have been happier with the easy things were going. This was an awesome series and I would love to read more about these characters!
I love them.. I love this series ❤️ Parish & Koya .. enemies to lovers, twin flames, both slick at the mouth, they were layered, complicated, broken hearted by their past but baby they loved each other hard and fearlessly. They were made for each other. It’s the date nights, blue roses, and tattoos for me 🥰😍❤️
Vezzo & Daisy.. first love, puppy love, oh they are the sweetest. I love that Vezzo is a gentleman. Study sessions, and the custom game day shirt #4
I loved the community, the found family, and Adrien ❤️🥰 The Priest brother updates, & of course Kavalli had me laughing
Mannn I really love this series for real. I like the way this was written and how soo many subjects were touched on but never took away from the storyline. Of course my favorite is black love and the positivity in our black men. Definitely make me want to read about Projex and Lo but want more from Adrien, Naeem hell and even Promyse. Just overall amazing series for sure!!!
Loved the finale!!!!! Koya was nerve wrecking but Parish handled her soooo well. He did not play about his "mamas" LOL!!! The bond between Koya and her brothers was amazing in spite of. I loved the way Gina embraced her.
Watching Vezzo's little romance blossom was everything. He and Daisie were tooooo cute. I would love an update. I am glad Andrien is out, enjoying life and getting back in the swing of things.
This book, omg I loved it! It reminded me of a good show on Showtime or something, that I actually would watch lol The growth of Parish was amazing to witness…im obsessed with him for the foreseeable future. Him and Koya are insane together, toxic in the most perfect way lmaooo the amount of times I laughed during this book!!? Parish is funny af, and every time Kavalli opened his mouth I was dying laughing and asking myself why is this book so funny. I’m sad this series is over.
I loved this series. this particular book focused more on Koya & Parish as well as Vezzo & Daisy. I loved the dynamics of both of these couples. Koya & Parish are two gangstas working with their past trauma and building emotional intelligence while Vezzo and Daisy are two high schoolers who are still learning themselves while Vezzo is pursuing his dreams with God right by his side.
Yasss come through! This book was so worth every single bit of the wait. Do you hear me. Parish will forever be bae ok! I loved how he did not play with her! And got her all the way together! He had me over here like yes zaddy whatever you say! I know she gonna give us a spin-off because I have questions that I need answered! Sensational
It's something about disliking a nicca, and then he turns into your nicca! Koya and Parish didn't even see it coming, but that one shootout made them see each other in a different light! Now it's Koya and Parish forever, and that's on Precious! It's another banging series!
This story is so beautiful from beginning to end. I’m happy Vezzo was able to accomplish big things at his school at the end of the day. Vezzo and Daisy are so inseparable and I can’t wait to see what the future hold for them. I just know there has to be another book because Parish and Koya babyyyyyy. I love them crazy and all!!!!
I Thoroughly enjoyed this ride , I enjoy these characters Koya &Parish were my favorite They really had all the highs and lows of relationship and there was so many gems dropped in here about relationships. Kudos to the author I love your work I swear I read more than half of your catalog
