A secret heir. A kingdom in crisis. A magic-fueled blight with horrifying consequences. And an unlikely band of outlaws and misfits who are Landria’s only hope against the powerful, malicious Witch Lord.

Rule-breaking, unconventional assassins Joel “Ridge” Breckenridge and Garrett “Rett” Kennar team up with rogue spy Kane and the imprisoned, notorious mage of Rune Keep to save their kingdom, despite the bounty on their heads. When Rett’s mind-scarred magic sends him to a place that exists outside of space and time, he discovers that the solution to Landria’s succession to the throne is hidden in a magical safe house.

But the spell that maintained the monastery is crumbling, and the Witch Lord is intent on stopping its secrets from becoming known. Meanwhile, provocateurs rampage in the borderlands trying to start a war, and a witch with a deadly grudge conjures a terrifying infestation that could destroy everything. It’s up to Ridge, Rett, Henri, and their friends to stop the threat and protect the throne while they evade capture on the kingdom’s “most wanted” list!

Amid a web of betrayals and intrigue, can a group of outlaws and exiles stop a mage-sent plague, fend off a predatory neighboring kingdom, and protect Landria’s best hope for a peaceful succession?

Outlaw’s Vengeance is an action-packed epic adventure filled with loyal friends, honorable fugitives, secret sanctuaries, hidden magic, and unexpected explosions.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series before reading this book.
*This review may contain spoilers for the previous books.

While Rhett and Ridge are working to save the residents of the monastery, a key part of their plan to saving the kingdom from the Witch Lord. But the Witch Lord has other plans they must also foil if they wish to succeed. A blight that kills all it touches, bandits stirring up a possible war with their neighbors, and hidden artefacts that may hold more than just magic.

Rhett is still dealing with the effects the torture has left on his magic. His new magic may have some benefits that the team will need to rely on as they move forward, but there is an emotional/psychological side for him having to watch someone else back Ridge in the field. Ridge is dealing with the other side, watching his partner take risks on a level he can't back him on. The friends they have made along the way will be necessary if they are going to survive and save the kingdom, but the friendship between Rhett and Ridge will always be the strongest. They are going to need all of their allies if they are going to stop the Witch Lord for good.

The least sleuthy assasins in the history of Landria continue their underground crusade to store the monarchy to the proper heir. I can see that happening, since these guys, despite their (very) rough exteriors, have loyalty (for their chosen leader) engraved on their bones. I really enjoy the very real grittiness of these two nobledark (definitely not paladin material) characters, the other morally gray characters they seem to attract (like flies?) and the way they use their admittedly less-than-legal skills to clear the way to the throne for their somewhat innocent charge. For a fan of Mickey Zucker Reichert's Legend of Nightfall duology, this series is a must-read (and I am reading and loving it)!!!

I received an ARC from Hidden Gems and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was so excited to see another Assassins of Landria book! I love Ridge and Rett - the most loyal disloyal assassins around. (If you've read the previous books, you know what I mean;) This book is another roller-coaster ride of action, adventure, danger, and drama with plenty of snark, shenanigans, ups, and downs. Enemies, allies (can you tell the difference?), a mage plague, and more. Can Ridge and Rhett prevail and save Landria, or will their 'Most Wanted' status finally catch up to them? You don't want to miss this one!

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I read that the Assassins of Landria series is mainly aimed at readers who enjoy fantasy without the sprawling storylines typical of epic fantasy — more of a casual fantasy. The author definitely succeeded in that. All the books fit that idea.

I started the series without knowing this, and after the first two books, I felt everything moved a bit too simply and superficially. Having finished them all, I’d say it’s a decent series for readers new to fantasy, but for those with more experience, it feels too light and limited. It’s my least favorite series by this author, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

This was a good book. I liked the plot and characters though there were elements that I didn't understand as I hadn't read the first 4 books. However, it is still a good story and I enjoyed reading it. I liked the magic. Will definitely be going back and reading the first 4. I received this as an ARC and am giving my honest review.

Almost there!

With their luck all will show at the end. Excitement , action and a little bit of luck our heroes are on their way. I love this story and hate to see it’s end, so hopefully there are more stories to keep this tale alive and our heroes together !!

Yet another fast-paced exciting installment with Ridge and Rett. I love these bite-sized tales and can't wait to see if they save the throne and kingdom!

great book, unfortunately it is not the last in the series so some problems are not solved. Still lots of action, good characters and story, worth reading
