I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.

I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.

In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

A Scottish folklore horror.
The island of Cora has a deep dark secret. At what lengths will the town's people go to hide the horrible thing terrorizing the island? This was a fast-paced and thrilling book. I absolutely loved the writing style. I highly recommend this book if you're into creature folklore. It is gory and thrilling.

Brilliant once again from this author

Just another horror story? Wrong!, This is an amazing story that takes you on a journey that goes where you don’t expect it to. I read this book in a day and the late night wAs so worth it.
To give you a hint of the story would spoil the twists and turns so i won’t. It is a brilliant read just like all his books Recommended

Night Of The Demons is a gripping and terrifying horror novel by Christopher Artinian. It is the first book in the Scares in Scotland series, which promises to deliver spine-chilling stories set in the remote and mysterious Scottish islands.

The book follows Seb and Summer Richards, a couple who move to a secluded island with their children, hoping to start a new and peaceful life. However, they soon discover that their dream home hides a dark and deadly secret that will put them all in mortal danger. As a relentless blizzard traps them on the island, they must face a horde of demonic creatures that have been awakened by an ancient legend.

Artinian masterfully creates a tense and claustrophobic atmosphere that keeps the reader on edge throughout the book. The characters are well-developed and realistic, making us care for their fate and root for their survival. The plot is fast-paced and full of twists and turns that keep us guessing until the end. The horror scenes are vivid and gruesome, but also balanced with moments of humor and emotion.
Night Of The Demons is a thrilling and satisfying read for fans of horror and suspense. It is a book that will haunt you long after you finish it.

If you enjoy stories that combine folklore, mystery and gore, you will love this book.

I could not say this is a true horror story

I read this in high hopes of a fantastic horror story, however put in a remote Scottish island was a good idea

The thing that spoiled it for me was the byline, and the cheese family that readiatited love and success.

I cannot talk about the storyline, Basic good horror, storyline ok however the love bombs lost it for me, defo for 16 +

Another great book by Artenian, of course, having Kim Bretton narrate makes it even better.
Sometimes the things in your nightmares are real. For this family they find out that is very true.
Think of all of the folklore of monster and creatures and then imagine one is real. This one has been hidden and its murders have been covered up for as long as people have lived on its island.

Spoiler:
It would be really cool if there was information about scientists studying the creatures bodies and stuff using its numbing or coma inducing slime in modern medicine .

This was a strange book. I am not sure how to even explain it, so I won't. I'll just tell you what I liked and what I did not like.

The horror story itself was really good. It had a good pace and was a bit frightening.
The Richards' family was nauseating. They would have been fine for the book if the author didn't have them making jokes all of the time. At first it was cute and then it became barf-a-rama as it went on and on. Basically, it just didn't fit the story. We got the idea that the family liked to have fun, but the author went overboard on the humor.

I knocked off two stars for this incongruous problem with the story.

For me, the best parts of this entire novel was the dialog between the Richards' family members. I know this is labeled as a 'horror' novel, but I honestly found myself laughing more than anything. This is not at all a negative whatsoever about the book itself as a whole; rather, the sense of humor of the author and how he - to me - created one of the best family dynamics I've ever read in ANY novel.

Seb in particular had me cracking up at his comments to his kids:

“Do deer have claws?” Charlie asked. “I’m begging you, never come out with anything that stupid in school. We’ll have the social services at the house in no time. They’ll think we’re making you sniff glue or drink lead paint or something.”

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubt.” “What does that mean?” Charlie asked. “Don’t worry about it, Son, but thanks for illustrating the point.”

etc...

I was skeptical about reading this book because I know absolutely diddly squat about Scotland, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I'm looking forward to some more Scares in Scotland.

Scared Me Again!

After reading ‘The Devil’s Face’ - I couldn’t resist the urge to delve into another horror novel from Mr. Artinian.

‘Night of the Demons’ was by far another best in my small list of books that make me keep the light on - for weeks. At least in the beginning of the read I could say it was because I needed to read by lamplight.

I read fast, so I’ve got to get a better excuse fast. Probably pick another horror novel to read. Christopher Artinian may be best known for his work in Post-Apocalyptic Fiction - but I think he is fast giving authors like Koontz, King, and Stoker a run for penning the scariest novel ever.

Thanks for the delicious nightmares, and anyone looking to further explore what lies just beyond the darkest shadows in the cold, night enveloped forest, read this novel. Enjoy!

Audiobook: I was very entertained by this first book in the "Scares in Scotland". A family moved to a remote Scottish Island hoping to build a perfect home. A family, an island, and a storm. These elements created a "perfect storm of terror". I enjoyed the family and their interactions. I was entertained by the dialogue between the husband and wife as I thought a lot of it was humorous. There were some eerie moments which kept me on the edge of my seat. Kim Bretton's narration was skilled and added a lot to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which included my opinions.

Night of the Demons brings us on a terrifying ride into the mind of Christopher Artinian. Where he comes up with these wonderful stories, i can't even hazard a guess. A couple, with their children hope to get away from the hustle and bustle and crime of living in a city. They pick a nice little island with a charming village to start their new life. They got a little more than they bargained for. When they discover their son is missing, they immediately start off looking for him, in the dark rainy night. The whole island is in on a terrible secret though and this night will shine the light on all of them.

Artinian has done it yet again with an emotionally charged, character driven tale set on a remote Scottish Island. Seb, his wife Summer and their two children are looking forward to living the dream but secrets, old legends and stuck in the mud religious beliefs add to the tension and put their lives and the community's in immediate danger. Can they survive the night or will horror befall them all?

😁really enjoyable book

What a fantastic book, this is so different to what Chris normally writes, but I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. I was so engrossed in the story that I read it in one sitting. It is definitely an edge of your seat, hide under your covers read. And do not go investigating any noises you hear while reading it. Screaming is not good for your neighbours.

I loved half the story line. The character of Murdo and his narrative is interesting and well written. I really wish the rest of the novel had maintained the energy of the prologue. When the family of Seb and Summer are introduced the nausea commences. Not only was the dialogue between members of this family cringeworthy the interspersed narrative wrecks what could have been excellent pacing. As for the ending don’t even get me started.

Terrifying

Really scary. I was hanging on every word waiting to see if anyone would survive. The author really set the atmosphere is such a realistic way. My only tiny complaint was that the back and forth between the husband and wife were a bit much at the beginning. But an intense read.

See there are no demons

I like a book that has a good pace to it and this one does. The plot has to do with a local legend of a demon that haunts a small island near Scotland. The locals keep things to themselves, but this time it isn't going to happen. As the story rushes to its ending you just hope there are survivors. A good book to read in October.

Christopher Artinian,, Author of the scariest book since the exorcist, he has woven a tale of folk lore on a Scottish island, into a horror most foul, animals, humans, all disappearing in groups, the deamhon oidhch, night demon. Or what is it.

WOW!!

Well, that was an 'edge of your seat' read, to say the least. Funny at times, especially the repartee between Seb, Summer, Luna and Charlie, then hair raising the next. Couldn't put it down! (4a.m. review lol!)

3.0

I think the author is very talented and has a vivid imagination, but found Summer condescending and almost intolerable as the book went on. There could have been at least one islander that immerged as a hero.

I LOVE CREATURE STORIES

The fact this took place in Scotland was an automatic plus. The people were great and I Could feel the weather. There was a bit of common predictability but that was ok. I loved the the fight in the cave…I found myself breathless. Very fun read.

Creepy Good

Wonderful scare the willies out of you book. So many secrets with a martyr holding its residents at bay. Wasn't sure what to expect with this one. Thinking along the lines of 'demons' but well you read it and then you'll know too.

Monster Page turner

Another page turner by the author
Loved the banter between Seb, Summer & their twins. Usual plots and unexpected turns that you come to expect from this author. You just never know what's gonna happen. I found the author through The burning tree series which led me to Safe Haven and The end of everything. Highly recommend.
