This is possibly my favourite Fan Fiction of all time.
The way the storyline has been crafted to mould perfectly with the Harry Potter characters in their own right, whilst also not being predictable and in keeping with the Victorian murder mystery, AU that it's set in is genius.
There is never a dull moment, and I was hooked from the very first word right until the very end. I LOVED Tom's character, and I thought he was the perfect portrayal of a morally grey protagonist. I've reread it several times since I first finished it, and I plan to read it several more times.

3,5 because the first Part was great, in the second one I got really annoyed with the authors desire to get everyone in a relationship

I don't understand people who think this is so well written. I mean it's not poorly written, but the millennial slang in the Victorian setting is throwing me out of this book pretty hard-core. Like every time one of the characters says "D*mn straight" I die a little bit inside. I mean I'm a millennial myself, and use most of this slang in my daily life, but when it's used in a supposed to be Victorian setting it just ruins the overall vibe of the setting/book. Also for a murder who-done-it I can see most of the plot twists coming from a mile a way. I'm staying mainly bc it's not horribly written and is still pretty interesting.

I'm about 21% of the way through this thing and I can see if I do finish this it will be a long hall.

Anyone who is wondering if this is a romance, since in the author's note it mentions that it is not, I would say it is a murder mystery who done it with heavy romantic sub-plots (since multiple povs). I know my tags are confusing, and kind of contradictory to this above statement, but if you read this you'll get what I mean hopefully.

I'll give this an official rating once I'm finished or DNF, but so far it's a solid 3 stars.

10/11/2022:

I quit here and now, trying to understand this book and the characters was a lesson in insanity.

I have no idea how a book so thoroughly written through the female gaze, created the manic-pixie dream girl that is the special snow-flake version of Hermione Granger in this one. That just should have had me giving this book more than two stars. DNF at 62% which is about over 1500 pages. I give kudos to whomever finished this without going completely insane.

All of the characters were out of character and the story started to drag majorly after 40%. If you like long winded attempts at gothic thrillers you may like this book, but if you like Harry Potter (the og series) skip this one. I would not consider this fanfiction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fiction! The beginning, circa the first 20-30% I honestly couldn't put it down, the protagonist's relationship with the Doctor as the mystery unfolding as well as the friendships she had were epic. But around in the middle of the book, what I thought would be the story ended up being alot more of a thriller then I'd expected! Which let me tell you the thriller written was amazing and totally worth the clout but i'm not an actiony kinda girl. And the resolutions that we'd hoped happed literally in the epilogue, thus not a lot of character development between the two protagonists.
This book was long, and amazingly well written and despite my personal conflict of interests (lol) I would still recommend this to everybody!

This book is everything, i think about it everyday. Hermione is perfect, and i can’t say anything bad about this fic. The last chapter was by far, my favorite, and i’d get on my knees for Lovelyvillain.

The first half of this 700k+ word fic was phenomenal. Easily deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the further in you read, the more it drags and the over use of cliff hangers with every POV change (every few paragraphs with some chapters).

Themes:
Gothic, horror, mystery, historical fiction. Adventure.

The writing was absolutely beautiful. The themes integrated throughout written gorgeously. But the mystery was definitely taken too far further in the story.
The horror aspects had me checking every dark corner before bed😂

Time period:
I'm so so happy that the author included relevant laws and social Norms throughout and that the characters aimed to break them and change the ways.

Characters:
Draco was such a petulant child up until the last 2 chapters. He was my least favourite character, which is odd considering this fic labels Draco X Hermione as it's second main relationship and that's what I was looking forward to.

However, the other characters throughout were incredible! Hermione and Parvati were badass and so was Lavender when we finally got to really know her personality in Wonderland. Tom, whew, I was not expecting to fall in love🫣 every one of his POVs had me blushing; his aggressive, bloodlust perspective was exactly the kind of misunderstood bad guy that has me in a chokehold (see Loki).
Ever Bella had me wanting a redemption arc and justice for her.
Luna was as perfect as she always is, Sirius was fun but so on the outside at every turn. Harry and Theo & Pansy and Ginny *chef's kiss*
I'm so proud of Astoria for saying fuck you gender norms.

Ending:
Happy the sex trafficking got taken down lol. Happy for Susan and Ron. Happy we got Tom and Hermione (TO MY SURPRISE!!!)

One of the best top tier books I have ever read and considering how long the book it is you can tell by how fast I managed to read the fanfic how captivating it was. The plot and its many twists really made me love it so much along with the romance that carried along the book with many different characters, muhfwg holds a special place in my heart and I feel so empty now that I’ve finished reading it! 100% go and read this if you were unsure <3

This was so disappointing. I was really engaged during the first third but once the mystery was revealed and all the Alice in wonderland stuff started I completely lost interest. The chapters were wayyyy too long, and the story got really boring. All the characters got paired off which also always annoys me. Ultimately cool concept at the beginning but didn’t pay off for me.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! I freaking LOVE this story. Omg. I can’t. This story is what makes me question how so much terrible literature is for sale while this sits out there for free. Like. Just pull a fifty shades. Do soMe finagling and turn this work of art an “original”. I use the quotes because it is f-ing original. Just need to change the names. Done. There. I turned it into original work. Please publish it now so I can start pushing it like the pusher I am.

This fic is absolutely amazing! It was really hard to put down, especially with the first part. I do have minor issues with it, like how the author overuses the word luv/ overextended wonderland bit/ the author’s desire to get everyone in a relationship, but otherwise, I highly recommend this fic to anyone looking for a mystery/thriller :)

I thought the premise of this had a lot of promise. Unfortunately the chapters were way too bloody long and that meant that I struggled to stay engaged in the story and had to push myself to get through it.

This is the type of fanfiction that should be published if people would be more interested in inquiring storyline and compelling characters instead of reading smut…

SO GOOD i loved how the author incorporated the HP characters into this storyline i loved it so much. I loved Tom and Hermione’s dynamic i loved how much Draco loved her. i just wish it was slightly shorter because i skipped almost all of the wonderland parts because they were too boring.
