She’s my best friend’s little sister who I’ve always looked at as a kid I need to protect, until one summer I see her in a bikini, and she looks nothing like a kid anymore.
At her graduation party, she tells me she’s never been kissed and asks me to kiss her.
The craziest part, I do, and it blows my mind. So, I do the only thing I could think of doing.
I tell her it was a mistake and bolt.
Now I need to protect her from the last person I ever thought I would have to, myself.
I’m able to keep my distance for four years.
Now she’s back from college, but she’s not the shy, inexperienced girl I once knew.
She’s bold, daring, and more beautiful than I remember.
What happens when our world’s come together, and we’re forced to admit truths from that night that we always thought we would keep buried?
Author of spicy romance novels! Lover of dogs, wine, and coffee. Loves to write books that pull at your heartstrings but never leave out the dirty parts!
The writing felt very scattered. Sometimes the book had the energy of YA writing. In the way the characters were so immature and spoke about one another. And at other times the writing was fully adult. It almost felt like the spicy scenes and the rest of the dialogué were written by two different people Because the style was so different.
But the buggiest issue was the way the book treated the male love interests greatest shame. ADHD. They spoke about his ADHD like it was a dirty word and made him a worthless person. And even how they spoke of the disorder had the energy of a 3rd grade teacher with a student who couldn’t sit still 20 years ago before they knew anything about ADHD. It was so demeaning.
You know in romances when the main guy is like “we can’t be together I am a horrible person and have been manipulating your entire life just to get revenge and murder your father” (if you know you know). That is how he treated his ADHD. Like he could never be good enough because he has it. And all his siblings are doctors and lawyers and he is “just a firefighter because he is so incompetent”. And not worthy of being in a relationship with someone in med school.
I finished this book in one setting when I got the ARC, for I couldn’t stop reading. All the brothers hold a special place in my heart, though Logan was definitely my favorite. Every emotion and feeling he had in this book I felt it and I cried a bit. Mollie being the little sister that everyone felt needed protected showed up and didn’t need any protection at all, but she thought she needed to protect her heart. A really great brother’s best friend troupe book. Can’t wait to read more from this author!
I am late to the game on this series. This is book 5 in the series and the first one I have read. I didn’t feel as if I had to read the other books first and wasn’t lost at all but I am dying to go back and read them now.
I love a good best friend’s sibling romance and this one did not disappoint. After a shared kiss at Mollie’s graduation that she believes means more, Logan leaves and she is heartbroken. Back in town ready to start med school in a few months she can’t avoid Logan anymore.
I enjoyed both main character’s in this book but have to say Logan was my absolute favorite. He had this vulnerable side and insecurities from the ADHD and learning disabilities he keeps hidden from everyone around him. But get him around Mollie and all bets are off. He is a dirty talking, sexy man with her and I loved it! Mollie is the best! She knows her brother might have concerns but puts her feelings for Logan first. She helps him see his true worth and brings out his confidence. They were perfect for each other!
After denying their feelings for each other for so long it makes them coming together that much better. They have a few bumps along the way especially with Ryan accepting their relationship. Luckily they are willing to work through anything and we end with a perfect HEA!
Thank you so much to Nicole Baker for allowing me to ARC read Protected! Logan is Mollie’s older brother’s best friend since childhood who she has had eyes for since she was nine. After a kiss at her high school graduation party, things take an unfortunate turn and it destroys their relationship. After finishing college, Mollie is heading back home to begin medical school when her and Logan are forced to work through the incident that happened four years prior.
This was a very fun read with LOTS of spice but just as much depth to the story. Seriously, my spicy girls will love this book! I really enjoyed the banter between Logan and Mollie, Mollie’s friends and family who were very sweet and not to mention all the hot fireman content! The ADHD representation was very well done as well. I have lots of first hand experience with it as my dad, older brother & husband have it. It opened up some great conversations between my husband and I by prompting me to ask if he could relate to Logan’s experience.
Overall, it was a great read and I really recommend it! My only issues with the book were the brother’s best friend concept, not because it wasn’t well written by Nicole, but because I’ve been there, done that and would NOT recommend…
Not only is he a firefighter (love men in uniform. Especially firefighters) he's king alpha in the bedroom and has a PHD in dirty talk.
Logan has always intrigued me. He's not like how I expected him to be. In the previous books, he was portrayed as the goofy, fun one with no filter. But there's so much more to him than just his charm and fun loving personality. He has a secret that only his family knows about. The reason, he thinks it makes him less of a person. He thinks he's not as smart as others, that he's not good enough for anyone. Especially Mollie. However, he's wrong.
I know people with ADHD and I can tell you they are the best kind of people you want in your life. Yes, they're fun but they also tell you how it is and when they love, they love hard.
I normally write my review about both MC's but Logan owns this book. His character is so intense. He's loyal and sweet. He has such a big heart and loves hard.
I love how this book ended the series however I wouldn't mind a small novella about Sunday dinner at the Brady's now that everyone has their HEA.
This was the best book of the Brady series. Well written, great story line and good chemistry between the characters.
This is a classic, ‘falling for my best friends sister’, trope. Mollie has always been starry eyed for Logan and asks him to kiss her at her high school graduation. Once this has happened, Logan is bulldozed with his feelings for Mollie and pulls away. When Mollie returns after her graduation from college, Logan and Mollie are put into a situation where they struggle to hide their feelings for one another.
You can see where this is going. As they try to hide their relationship, the idea of sharing it with her family becomes more scary. Logan deals with a lot of self doubt around his condition. Now the condition is ADHD which you wouldn’t think is such a big deal but it can be very debilitating for some and also an insecurity.
Enjoyed the book and loved that the epilogue really rounded off the series well.
It always takes me a few chapters to remember the Brady family and figure out who is who. This story was the turn of the youngest Brady brother, Logan.
Fun loving, firefighter Logan was not expecting Mollie to walk back into his life with such a bang but boy, was he knocked off his feet.
This was a story of mistaken unrequited love and self doubt. It was heartbreaking to see Logan convince himself he wasn’t worthy of Mollie despite being all she wanted.
I devoured this book in one sitting, so surely that tells you all you need to know? My one criticism, it just… ended. Don’t get me wrong, a lovely ending, but I wish there was another chapter or an epilogue to see how things went after.
Regardless, all the Brady brothers have got there happily ever after. What am I supposed to do now?

This is the fifth book in the series, I loved the last one (Persuade) and are well worth a read! I came to this series late (book 4) so need to backtrack and read from book 1 but book 4 and 5 made sense so would say are ok to read as I have. From reading the blurb, I knew there was going to be spice between Mollie and Logan, I wasn't disappointed! Love how the book title sums up the story perfectly between Logan and Mollie. Their story flowed well, Ryan will always be the protective brother but Mollie is her own person, knows who and what she wants. Really liked Avery's part in Mollie's life, a life long, supportive friend and someone to speak reason when needed. Will definitely look for more books by Nicole after reading this!
I was gripped and kept interested which is always good, would recommend this book!
Protected is an angsty, brothers best friend romance that warms your heart & your other regions...
Dirty talking, sweet hearted Logan Brady is the last of his 5 brothers to find love. He's always been good with the ladies but more reserved than most. He hasn't settled down and has let work take over his life. That is until Mollie comes back home to start med school. Mollie is his best friends smart, innocently sweet best friends little sister. And the one that he let get away. Years later, with sexual tension that can't be ignored, Logan realizes that maybe beating himself up needs to end. Mollie is his, and he's ready to make it known!
This was the last book in the Brady Brothers series and man are these men 🔥. Nicole is amazing with her spice and her stories that have heart along with her heat!
I absolutely loved Mollie & Logan! Their story was so real, and so heartfelt. An attraction that they didn’t feel they could act on for different reasons, an age gap, a hatred created from miscommunication & misunderstanding, and a connection rekindled with forced proximity on vacation!
When Mollie and Logan finally let the things they are holding onto go, and they spend time together and allow themselves to feel and embrace each other their connection really blooms!
It was so sweet! They had to overcome things individually and together. They had to talk and have conversations. And like every good best friends little sister romance, they had to overcome telling Ryan that they were in love.
I loved their story and this Brady family!! I have loved getting to experience and enjoy their journeys, and what a brother to end on!
***SPOILERS****" . . . . . "You think you were waiting for me?" his soothing voice asked hopefully. "Because I think I was fighting against my feelings…never settling long on anyone else because deep down I knew…" "It was always you," I finished for him. "Exactly." . . "And being with you these last couple of weeks, it's only made me realize you are nothing like my fantasies, you're better." . .
This book was SOO sweet. Friends to lovers, kind of second chance.
Logan and Mollie are the sweetest couple. They have been fighting their love for years. When it finally rekindles during a summer cabin trip, it's spicy and fast. The spice and praise is soo good. 🥵🥵
This book, to me, is written like a spicy, cute, Hallmark movie. If you love that type of banter, you will love this book!

Logan has been the fun loving, goofy brother in the other books, but there's so much more to him. He's holding onto a secret that makes him feel less than and not good enough for anyone, especially Mollie.
Mollie has been in love with her brother's best friend for years, and seeing him again after moving back home after college has reignited these feelings.
For me, Logan was the star of this book. He's incredibly sweet and caring, and I just wanted him to be happy 🥰
There's more spicy goodness in this one too (who knew a jet ski could be so much fun!)
I do wish there was a bit more at the end. I'm a big lover of an epilogue, but there wasn't one and I think a little glimpse into their future would have been so good 🩷
First, thank you to Nicole Baker for sending me an ARC of this book to review!
This was a cute story with plenty of spice! I enjoyed the relationship between all the characters, and always love a good friends-to-lovers story. The friends and side characters added the perfect level of support and banter.
I love that the MMC, Logan, is a firefighter (I need to find more books like that!) and that he was so sweet, caring and thoughtful… even when he didn’t believe in himself.
I felt so bad for the FMC, Mollie, towards the end - no spoilers but that girl had an emotional rollercoaster of a few chapters. I’m so glad everything worked out and her mom is literally the best!
I love to read Brothers' Best Friend romance. The whole point of me pining on these troops is that the characters and their chemistry has developed since long and how well they adapt the habits and easy going it seems for them. I really love the soulmate vibes that we get through this like it's always in front of you, you just have to see it and try not to fight it.
Mollie and Logan are total goofball and their chemistry is off the charts. The resistance and sexual tension in the beginning added to my fun of reading how i love this bold and beautiful version of Mollie and Logan my god man you are an eye candy for every girl out here.!!! Overall this is an amazing read with lots of spice that would add colours to your life 😋😜
'Look at you watching me like that. You can't wait to feel what I'm going to do with you".
A brilliant brother's best friend story that I devoured in one sitting, page after page, I fell more in love with Logan, with his swoon, with all the warm feelings he gave me when he is with Mollie, the baby sister who is driven mad by overprotective brothers when she doesn't really need protecting, well except for her heart now she is home and Logan is everywhere she turns.
Nicole Baker has produced a 5th book in the series that has me waiting eagerly for the next, a book, that I would happily read again and again.
5 stars. 100% wpuld recommend to anyoen and will most definitely read again in the future. Really loved this book! I flew through it. Was sich a happy read and a great change of pace from the dark romance I had been reading. Really loved the character personalities and their intentions are beyond good. Loved the subtle firefighter nuances. I will say at one point I was very upset qith her brother but I'm glad everything worked out and he pulled him head out of his ass. I will say the "I'm not good enough for you" trope is not my favorite especially when he is good enough. Overall I would read other books by this author for sure.

Second chance ✔️ Childhood friends/lovers ✔️ Brothers best friend✔️ Good girl and grumpy firefighter✔️
I mean what’s not to love 😍 I also loved how this book spoke about mental health. The only thing I’ve noticed in reading this series from the author is that her writing is not well written. I mean I’m no English professor lol but I did notice a lot of errors while reading all her books that just kind of got to me by the last book in her series. I hope in the future it gets better. 🩷 Overall I loved all of the books and stories in this series, I hope she writes about Avery and Ryan I would love to see them be a thing. ❤️🔥☺️
This book was filled with emotions. After a slow start, I eventually got into this story and was so ready to read how Logan and Mollie's story would turn out.
Logan turned out to be more vulnerable than his brothers and sister. And it had me rooting for him. Mollie and Logan were perfect for each other.
I am sad to say goodbye to the Brady siblings. Hopefully we will get an epilogue book or something to give us a glimpse into their HEA's.

➛ Contemporary Romance ➛ Dual 1st person POV -Logan & Mollie ➛ Tropes: Best Friends Little Sister, First Love, Enemies To Lovers, Forced Proximity, Small Age Gap (5 years) ➛ Spicy ➛ This is book five in an interconnected series: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Can be read as a standalone!
This was the 5th book in the Brady Series, but the first book of the series I read. It was great because I didn’t feel at all like I needed to read any other of the books first.
Took me awhile to get into and stay into this book. I kept putting it down mid chapter and getting distracted. Overall it was a good, easy read. Brothers, best friend romance. Has the usual components to go along with a romance such as. If I could be picky, I’d go for a 3.75/5 star rating on this book. It just didn’t stand out to me, wouldn’t be something I feel I’d love to reread.
Slow burn, age gap, brothers little sister, enemies to lovers. This book was fantastic. I loved the chemistry between Mollie and Logan, from hating each other to being insanely in love with each other. The slow burn was intense, I felt antsy each chapter wondering if this was it, if they were going to jump each other's bones LOL.
I definitely cannot wait to read more books by Nicole.

I’ve been in a major reading slump in this book was just what I needed. It was a quick, sweet, fun read that kept my attention the whole time! I ended up binge reading it in one sitting. I am always a sucker for a sibling‘s best friend trope in this book was no exception. It was so well done. Logan was such a sweetheart! You could tell he really was such a pure soul and he cared about Mollie so much! Mollie and Logan suited each other super well! The spice, as per usual, was on point!
Logan Brady, Ufda! I loved that this book took on real life problems that men struggle with! This whole series has focused on the men and not the women having struggles and it was a breath of fresh air. 5/5 stars for relatable problems! This book deals with ADHD and the struggles that come with it, it deals with feeling like you are not good enough, and it deals with the potential loss of a friendship over a significant other. It is real life and I loved that! 3/5 stars for dragging it out a little. This book was significantly longer compared to the other books, which is fine, but was it truly necessary? I wished with the added length we could have wrapped up the other characters a little more. We saw a glimpse into their lives but we did not get the interaction between characters that I would have wanted. Overall, quick read if you need to get out of a book slump.

I think this is a good book. It was short and what you would expect of a brother's best friend book, but I enjoyed it. I liked the characters and how the story progressed. I would recommend, the three stars is because I can't give it a 3.5. The book is good, I am just comparing it to the other books I have been reading and it wasn't as intense.
“Growing up I've always wanted to protect her. I just didn't realize that I would eventually want to protect her because she was mine” 😩😩❤️❤️ the book was easy to read I enjoyed every second of it and I loved their relationship, and the jet ski scene…OMG ..😳. … I was hoping he is “her first time “ but it’s okay
🔥😅🥹😘🥰 This is an endearing and spicy brother’s best friend romance.
These two have crushed on each other for years, but he didn’t feel good enough so he pushed her away. He became a fire fighter, she came back in to town and they hit it off. I loved how the relationship developed between these two! I was very invested in the entire story and it pulled at my heartstrings.
Protected is the fifth in the Brady series by @nicolebaker_author but could be read as a standalone. The story between Mollie and Logan is relatable and the tension between the two jumped off the page. This is the perfect end to the Brady series.
Dnf 60% It's a decent story, Mollie honestly annoyed me so I usually skimmed her POV so I could get to Logan's but then Logan has ADHD and he makes it out to be the worst thing in the world and the way he describes it, he makes himself a victim of it instead of trying to overcome it.
This book just didn’t hit for me. It was just okay. There was some continuity mistakes. The ending was a little lackluster for me. And the middle was kind of boring. Overall it just wasn’t for me. I really liked the beginning but it just fell off for me after that. 2/5
