Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to spend a few months on a concert tour traveling the country? Did I mention that the famous musician headlining it is the ex-husband who walked out on you?
When I met Levi Truin, we were young, rich, famous, and beautiful. Nothing could go wrong, we had the world at our fingertips. Except millions of dollars, marriage and a baby all before twenty two isn’t all fun and games. And when my indiscretion caused it to come crashing down, we were just another Hollywood couple on the cutting room floor.
Seven years later, Levi and I are the poster-children for exemplary co-parenting. Attending red carpet events in support of each other, Sunday night dinners for the sake of our daughter, and her private school functions where we save seats and make polite conversation. The articles paint us in the healthiest of lights, because none of them know the truth.
So when he wants to take our daughter on tour, I have a decision to make. Let her traipse around venues with a nanny, or tag along and somehow survive sleeping in a bunk below my ex for months.
We go on the road, taking our demons and heartbreaks with us. And as we spend nights together with the highway lights flashing past the windows, that familiar spark reignites. Old hurts are discussed, wounds I guard tight are exposed, and my ex-husband makes confessions I’ve been waiting years for. Against all odds, he might just be able to love me again.
But then the dirty details of our long ago breakup get leaked to the press, and the newly fledgling relationship might be doomed from the start.
Lies, silence, and miscommunication are the things that ripped us apart. Can we push past our scars to reunite our family after everything we’ve been through?
Author of romance novels such as Fleeting and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. Her stories are fueled by vanilla lattes, meloncholy music, and copious amounts of candles.
When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in farm country with her husband, two children and ninety-pound rescue pup.
When I saw the title of this book, I immediately knew it will be one h3ll of emotional rollercoaster from Carrie Aarons. And she didn't disappoint me. Levi and Sophie are soulmates in every sense but their love story is not all sunshine and rainbows. Messy mistakes. Toxic grief. And an epic second chance romance. This story wrecked me through and through but also filled my heart with warmth and light at the end.
Music God Levi and super model Sophie had a love that was epic in every sense. They had a whirlwind romance. Got married and had a baby girl. And things went downhill immediately. Now they are divorced and have a good co parent thing going on. But the truth is..The love never went away. Levi asks Sophie to join his next unconventional short scale tour with Hart, their daughter. Will it be their second chance? Or will it bring out all the ugly skeletons?
This story talks about a very important and less talked about topic here. Postpartum depression. The author dealt with it so sensitively. This story shows that even the superstars and celebrities can lose themselves when postpartum depression strikes. My heart was breaking for Levi and Sophie. They were both young and they didn't understand how to deal with it. And there were a lot of guilt, anger and pain..and heartbreak. The time has healed Sophie and she tried to do everything to heal herself. Years of therapy and medication went behind making her this strong woman again. She is incredible. I love her big loving adorable heart so much. She is not only taking care of her daughter and her career..she is helping others who need help like her. But her heart is lonely. Levi know he messed up years ago and lost so much time. He just doesn't know how to make amends. This tour gave them the chance. Oh the angst in this book is just crazy! I was on verge of tears so many times. They had to work through the mountain of misunderstanding, miscommunication, heartache..and the world just wants a piece of gossip for their entertainment. It was hard but love makes everything possible. Levi is a perfect tortured musician and he owns my heart. The drama and the manipulative media were tearing them apart all over again but this time they were ready! It was definitely not an easy love story. It was raw. Gripping. Messy. Gut wrenching. But so so satisfying. PS I LOVE HART THIS KID IS JUST SO CUTE AND FIERCE.
I recently read a rockstar second chance that felt flat. And while its unusual for me to read a second book with a similar premise, I’m happy I did because this book restored my second-chance loving heart.
📔 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼: Say You Love Me Again by Carrie Aarons
📚𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Second chance, angsty romance, rockstar romance.
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Levi and Sophie divorced 7 years ago, after her postpartum depression tore them apart. Now he’s heading on tour and wants to bring their daughter - and Sophie has no choice but to tag along.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Man, talk about a swoony romance. From the gate, both Levi and Sophie’s POV made it clear that they were still in love and pining for each other. And I freaking love that.
The book was a perfect blend of everything that makes a rockstar romance fun, and everything that makes a second chance romance angsty. Levi is hard not to fall for, and Sophie is a great and empowered female MC.
I will say there’s cheating in this story. But Aaron takes it easy on us - it’s a kiss under some special circumstances that, while heartbreaking, is forgivable as the characters go on their journey.
Bonus points is that the book is short-ish. And I’m surprised Carrie Aarons could get so much detail and story into 250 pages.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀: If you love rockstar romance, the Stage Dive series by Kylie Scott is 👌
Overall Opinion : It's been a while since I have read this author but if there is one thing I always remember her and praise her for , it's her second chance romances. This trope by her is what hooked me in the first place and I always make sure to read books by her.
When I saw the title for this book , it screams SECOND CHANCE plus ANGST and I had to have it !!
This author never disappoints and this was one hell of a book. It contains tropes like Failed marriage, second chances , redemption and so much angst! I loved it a lot. It's not a dark romance but more of a contemporary one. The storyline is good and although the hero confused me in the starting, but I got to understand him as well ❤️
Definitely recommending this one to all the contemporary romance loving people out there!
The second chance romance in Carrie Aarons' Say You Love Me Again centers on supermodel Sophie Holly-Truin and rock star Levi Truin.
I knew from the start that this book would be angsty and would eventually make me cry, which it did, but that's the best part in reading angsty romance books.
I expected a little bit more from this novel, but it still delivered the anguish and a wonderful little kid. As I knew Sophie had changed for the better, which she recognized herself, I had anticipated a better character redemption for Levi. Levi only experienced so little change, and he was the one who really needed it.
However, I will admit that when I learned what had transpired between Sophie and Levi that had caused their divorce, I was upset since it had been caused by the slightest of things, and I think they could have resolved their issues by attending couples therapy before considering divorce.
In all, this book is the perfect example of an angsty romance with plenty of heartache and smut!

Say You Love Me Again is a standalone Romance about Sophie and Levi.
When I started reading Say You Love Me Again, I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t read the synopsis and just started reading. I didn’t expect this story to be so heartbreaking, emotional, painful and beautiful. This book isn’t just a Second Chance Romance, it’s so much more. This book talks about miscommunication, about postpartum depression, and about heartbreak. I’m really happy that Carrie Aarons decided to write this book because I just know so many people will relate to the main character, Sophie and her postpartum experience.
Say You Love Me Again is a book about Sophie and Levi. You read in the present, but you also get to know what happened 7 years ago and why Sophie and Levi got a divorce. I really liked both characters and getting to know both sides of the story. As I mentioned before, this isn’t just a regular Second Chance Romance. Carrie Aarons took the time to fully explain how Sophie dealt with her postpartum depression and what caused certain things, … I liked that the characters got a second chance, and that they could share it with their daughter Hart. Hart is just so adorable!
Say You Love Me was such a good book, but to me it started a bit slow. It was a bit hard to get into the story, but once I read more about Sophie and Levi, I wanted to know how their story was going to end. But besides the slow start, I really enjoyed reading Sophie and Levi’s story, and there were a few times when I was smiling while reading. Carrie Aarons wrote another amazing book and I’m looking forward to her next one!
I loved this book! Hollywood, rockstar, celebrity divorced couple, second chance, all my faves! Sophie and Levi Truin were gifted, magical, each successful in their own fields. He’s a rockstar, she’s a model. When they met, they clicked, and in less than one year they were married, and had a baby girl soon after. After three years of incredible bliss, it all came down like a house of cards, and seven years after, they are the epitome of a divorced couple who excel at co-parenting. They live close by, share equal time with their daughter Hart, and have a very amiable relation.
It all sounded to be too good to be true and as you read, you learn of all the undercurrents. There’s a strong theme of postpartum in the book, it caused the demise of their marriage and it became Sophie’s crusade. When she had their daughter, she got severe postpartum depression; she didn’t know how to deal with it and her husband didn’t support her. Years after, with many counseling sessions under her belt, Sophie emerged a much stronger woman but still damaged because she was the cause of their divorce. She now runs a non-profit to help woman with this condition.
You can tell immediately that this couple still love each other immeasurably. They keep a polite distance but maintain a loving relation. When Levi’s old song-writer collaborator emerges from the past, Sophie has a tantrum. When she accepts a dinner invitation from a neighbor and friend, Levi has a tantrum. Levi decides to go on tour and invites Sophie and Hart to join in, and off they go. And this is when the story started to burn and get yummy!
I loved the angst and the yearning! Clearly, the love between Sophie and Levi was strong. I appreciated that the author moved the plot slowly to enjoy the slow burn. Initially, there was a lot of character rumination and I was afraid it was going to be a blabby book but as the action developed, it turned out perfectly balanced in prose and dialogue. I was kept riveted as the characters dealt with their issues and got closer and closer. I felt frustration and anger at the invasion of the paps in their life, all the insulting innuendos and questions. They truly live in a bubble and have to be super careful of what they say and how they act in public. Imagine taking your child to a zoo and have a fan follow you around taking photos! Unbelievable. Thank you to the author for such a memorable depiction of the life of celebrities and a wonderful second chance love story! It was a great read!
Thank you Carrie Aarons for the ARC copy and this is my honest review: I was blown away by Levi and Sophie. I absolutely fell in love with their obsession with each other and my heart was broken over their divorce even knowing how much they loved each other. I hated that they put off talking about what tore them apart for so long, but the way that they worked back to each other was so glorious. Rock Star romance has such raw emotion and this one did not disappoint in any way. When the jealous feelings and longing finally exploded the spice was so incredible to read, they truly were one person and because they had already loved each other and were having a homecoming of sorts is was even better. This book was a beautiful balance of angst, spice, longing and happiness. The open discussion about postpartum depression really hit a chord with me, and I felt like it was written perfectly. The mental health side of the book blew me away!
In my opinion Carrie Aarons has never written a bad book but this one has to go in my top five because it is just so well written and she talks about things that are normally taboo, and opens a discussion to make them more normal. I love that about her writing, I felt like she wrote it just for me.
This book has all the feels but, more importantly, revolves around a topic we must discuss more. The author does a beautiful job handling postpartum depression and how it can affect a family.
Sophie and Levi married young and started their family. Things quickly fell apart due to many circumstances, and they divorced. Successfully co-parenting their daughter Hart for seven years while their own successes flourish. But are they still in love? Can they communicate and get past the angry words that were said? As a tour opportunity presents itself, will Sophie and Hart join Levi?
I loved Sophie and Levi’s journey. The time apart is needed to grow and understand what they have or let slip away. I know I will be rereading this book, as I am still thinking about it, days later.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Adored this book!!! Levi and Sophie are simply meant to be. Their history is difficult; it’s emotional and it broke them apart; however their connection and chemistry is like nothing else. How this story develops and how these two characters find their way back (not an easy ride) is wonderful. A captivating story throughout - it had me hooked! This was a 5 star read!
ugggh i wanted to love this, the premise was super fun! but i hate books that have previous cheating & it’s taken way out of context the entire story 🥴
also a big portion of this book is related to postpartum depression so if that’s something you want to stay away from, just a heads up!
When Levi Truin is asked by his record company to do an intimate tour he wants to take his daughter along with him. Speaking to his ex wife, Sophie, he gets her to agree to come along too. Both have never stopped loving the other but have remained friends, co-parenting and supporting one another. Will this tour see them finally talking about events from the past? Can they begin to understand what happened and how to move forward? This was such a heart felt book, showcasing postpartum mental health with such delicate and sensitive words. It has true love and soul searing chemistry along with the bad guy to hate! I loved this book and wish I could give it !pre than 5 stars!
This story was really great and emotional discussing a topic that’s rarely mentioned in romance books. I’m so glad that the couple managed to find their way back together because you can tell that the love never went away. However, I’m still pissed about the reason for their divorce and I’m glad that the mmc acknowledged that he should’ve reacted better and how he should’ve done more for the fmc.
2.5 The trope of this book was second chance. A divorced couple who never fell out of love with each other. That’s how the first part of this read. But then it almost seemed like an essay on postpartum depression. This wasn’t a romance. It was a woman’s lit about postpartum. I understand that’s an important topic but that’s not what I wanted wen I bought this book. At least the cover is pretty. And their 7 year old daughter, Hart, is adorable and funny. Also talented, playing guitar on stage with her rock star dad.
Wow, this story really blew me away. Extremely well written by Carrie. Everything about this story was amazing. Carrie captured postpartum in ways a lot of people don't understand. She did an amazing job!! I work in the OBGYN world and it is a topic a lot of people don't understand. I LOVE Sophie and Levi! This was a fantastic 5 star must read!!
I enjoyed Sophie and Lexi more than I expected. They brought up the hard stuff and were able to grow throughout that story. Hart was absolutely adorable and such a great part of the story. Aarons doesn’t shy away from hard topics and brings in new perspectives.
How can someone recover from a world of hurt, especially when the person you love the most in the universe is the one who cashed their and your tickets into that emotional pain?
Levi and Sophie Truin made me a believer in second chances, even when the situation they needed another shot from seemed irredeemable.
The divorced couple has learned to co-exist and co-parent in the last seven years. The only problem is that they've also suppressed the feelings they have for each other as penance for their respective roles in their separation seven years ago.
Now rockstar Levi wants to take their daughter on tour with him. To alleviate model and nonprofit director Sophie's fears, he also invites her to come along.
A tour bus full of unresolved tension? Yes. Please.
I was ready for Carrie Aarons to bring on the angst, and brought it she did. The angst, the feels, the tension -- they weighed heavily as I read through Levi and Sophie's second chance journey. They definitely made the story even richer. I love that we get to see the payout of their growth as they navigate this chapter with the maturity and grace they very much needed seven years ago.
I also adore the supporting cast. Sophie's mom Gloria and Levi's friend and mentor Judd were fantastic as the couple's conscience and the book's comedic relief. Their daughter Hart -- certainly an old soul -- was just plain adorable.
This standalone read is going to be a slow burn so buckle yourselves in for an angsty ride, but the wait is definitely worth it.
** I am voluntarily reviewing an advance copy of this book. Thank you to Carrie Aarons for providing an ARC. **
I absolutely devoured Say You Love Me Again by Carrie Aarons. I loved, loved, loved this book so much. This was Carrie Aarons at her best. I have been reading her for a long time and truly enjoy her books, but this one, this one she knocked right out of the park. I could not stop reading. When Levi and Sophie met fireworks flew. Their chemistry and connection was undeniable and they fell, hard. They were meant to be together. Then it all came crashing down. Seven years later they are divorced and the perfect portrait of co-parents. They are determined to be what their daughter needs no matter what and they did. Their daughter knew she was loved.
Though they have been apart for seven years, no one could deny how they feel for each other, except each other. He is hurt and she is full of guilt and yet neither has admitted what they feel. When Levi goes on tour, he wants his daughter with him, but will brining Sophie with him change everything again? Levi was caring, protective and afraid to open his heart again. Sophie is full of guilt, a bit lost but determined to help others like her. It is what drives her now. Now when they may find a way back to each other, everything that tore them apart may do so again.
I cannot begin to express how much I loved these characters. Levi and Sophie stole my heart, even as they broke it. They have been through so much together and apart. They hurt each other deeply and then kept each other at arm’s length while they raised their daughter even if doing so broke them. Their journey was emotional, heartbreaking and captivating and I was consumed by it.
Sophie and Levi could be any of us. Two young people creating a family, but the reality being overwhelming. I was emotional the entire time I've read this, them being celebrities gave a different vibe to the story, but deep down it's about how people from the outside judge and think they know what's going on in a family. I must be repeating myself, but I love how the author uses the main characters jobs talk about sensitive topics. This second-chance story is about love not being enough to continue a relationship. While we say that people shouldn't change for someone, the reality is that we do change, being married means that we need to be there for our partner and not run at the first roadblock, and they can come in many ways or forms. Sophie and Levi are an example of co-parenting, I think women should read the book and guard the message it transmitted, because it's very useful. I was never a fan of second chance romances, but lately I seem to enjoy them. It might be that as time passed I matured and understand that life is not perfect, if we don't forgive and move on we're never going to be happy. That being said, this is quite an emotional book. Most will hate the slow burn, I find it sad that people might give less stars because a story is more about feelings and not the physical aspect. I personally love this author, because she always manages to make me feel while reading her books. As time passes her stories are becoming more meaningful, not just romance between two characters.
I think just might be my favorite in all the Carrie Aarons books. The way this book is written, it will cause your heart to hurt but only to be so full, it will threat to burst with happiness.
After spending 7 years apart romantically, but raising their daughter together, Sophie and Levi are finally pushed to find closure. Their love was epic and they both still love each other, but something is preventing them to confess the love is still there. But when they finally lay their hearts out in the open, they're rewarded with the best gift ever and that's falling back in each other's arms.
This story is more than two people finding themselves. It's about how life is not filled with flowers, that sometimes it takes you down, only to let you build up a stronger foundation for your future. This story was beautifully written about the struggle mothers face after giving birth, about how you have to work so things don't get overwhelming. If there's one thing to take from this story is, when you feel like everything is getting to be too much, ask for help. There is always someone willing to help.
First of all I wanna start by thanking Grey’s Promotions for this arc. This story is absolutely beautiful and approaches a very sensitive and important subject. It mentions postpartum depression and that’s something you don’t see very often in books. This second chance romance was absolutely beautiful, emotional from page one and angsty. I loved both Sophie’s and Levi’s relationships with Hart. She’s the cutest little being and the only thing I have to point out about this story that I didn’t think was too realistic was the way she was portrayed as 7 year old who looked all too grown up for her own age. Like the way she would play guitar like she was already a prodigy and all I mean she’s a 7 year old. But that might just be my view and that the kids Would know that age aren’t that grown up 😅😂 Any ways all in all it was a very beautiful second chance rock star romance and I highly recommend it! 4.5⭐️ for me 🥰
It’s no surprise that I love all of Carrie’s books. This one is no different.
While I did love the book as a whole, I did find the beginning a bit hard to get into.
I appreciate the back story and why it had to be I think it could have been done a bit faster (but who am I? I’m just a reader 🤷🏼♀️).
I do love that postpartum was a part of this story and the attempt to normalize it. I think this is a very important thing and for an author to put it in her book sheds light on the issue in a non-conventional way.
After I got into the story I feel in love. I loved the story, the characters and who couldn’t love Hart??
First off, I LOVE that Carrie Aarons is normalizing how traumatic postpartum depression can be and what a toll it can take on someone’s mental health. Its something that is not talked about enough. That aside, this book was incredible! The angst and yearning between Levi and Sophie gave me actual goosebumps. I was so invested in these characters. Full on ugly cried at some parts, but I loved how hard they worked to be great co-parents to Hart. Such an incredible second chance romance with great spice and some of the best angst I’ve ever read. Absolutely loved this! *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Carrie Aarons never disappoints. THIS WAS SO GOOD!! I love me some good second chance but especially when they’re already married or have been. It just hits the spot that I love. This had so many turns that I didn’t see coming. It makes you sad how much time they were apart, but then you actually see the growth which is everything.
I love love love the celebrity aesthetic in this. They were so humbling too. A rockstar and a model—come on. And their daughter was the cutest too. This tugged at my heart strings more than it was steamy, but when we did get to the spice, it did not disappoint.
This is a second chance romance. They were married and got divorced yet still were parenting their little girl together. Levi was headed out on tour for his album and decides to bring Sophie and their daughter with him. Slowly but surely they work through issues and it had me swooning the whole time. There are a few trigger warnings for this one so message me I’d you want them. It makes me so happy every time I read a book by Carrie Aarons and this is no different.
Self note Rockstar +model second chance romance. Need real safety info from non arc reader. All these 5 star reviews all say the same exact thing without spoilers. How obvious can you get🙄.
Why did they break up? After they had the baby, h went into postmortem depression and someone cheated. Apparently cheating is just kissing, but was it a full on emotional affair, and who was the cheater?
Once again, i feel like Carrie Aaron’s books are best ideas, poor execution. i once again was so excited for the trope, only for it to be rushed and way too simple. like would it kill her to make a book twice as long, god knows the potential was there…
This book grabbed me from the moment I read the blurb. A power couple who falls apart, but are still in love. How they work through the angst of their meeting, falling in love, getting married, and finally the demise of their union. It sounds like a simple cheater book, but there is so much more to their story. A story that lives in the public eye, as they are both famous in their own rights.
The best part of the telling of this story is how Carrie so meaningfully weaves in the pain and struggle of postpartum depression that Sophie battles. A very real situation many women find themselves in and the damage it causes. While I had a problem with the way Levi treated his wife, I had to think about how young and passionate they both were. I think their reactions were very real and believable. The way they are able to-slowly-make their way back to each other was beautiful. They both grow up and become stronger, better versions of themselves.
I very much enjoyed this book; so much that I have read it cover to cover twice! When Sophie, Levi and Hart found their final HEA, I cheered for them. I highly recommend this book!
I was absolutely emotionally spent once I finished this book all in a good way. This book was heavy emotionally for sure. It has some heavy angst and you can feel the tension and resentment and pain that these two have jumping of the pages of this book. This is Levi and Sophie's story and I couldn’t put it down. Levi and Sophie were married and are now coexisting and coparenting. But under everything there are theses deep suppressed feeling on both parts. They both still have feelings for each other but have denied it as kind of a punishment for the roles they both see they each played years ago in their divorce. Now Levi wants Hart to go on tour with him and has invited Sophie to come along. I loved their journey and it is a roller coaster ride that I would not miss and would highly recommend.
