The Table has always been the center of the Wright Family. With Curtis “Coolie” Wright as the head of it, he made it appoint to be open with the two women in his life, preparing them for any and everything that has to do with the game. Only they couldn’t predict that he’d be framed for murder he didn’t commit.
Coolie takes his sentence on the chin, knowing truth always comes to light at the right time. While preparing for his time out, he leaves The Table in unsuspecting, but able hands with his daughter, Mahogany. No stranger to the game, Mahogany along with her God sister, Tiffany and their best friend Morae take their rightful seats and move as one.
In this male-dominated field, the streets aren’t always welcoming to a bossette; especially one with the style and grace of Mahogany Wright. In a league of their own, the ladies are met with more adversity than a little bit, some in their personal lives and some in business. Will they be able to handle it all and live up to their titles or will they prove just why there’s no room for a woman at the top?
Ride with a few bossettes as they navigate the gritty streets of New York and manage to keep their womanly essence while doing it.
Charge It To The Game is about a set of women dominating a game that is normally headed by men. They are go-getters, trained to get money, and not afraid to get their hands dirty. Mahogany is the head, alongside her two good friends Tiffany and Morae. They are the definition of “HBIC” - but not everything is what it seems. Mahogany has someone gunning for her spot and sadly blood isn’t thicker than water.
I was really curious to see these women in charge and how they would respond to adversity. I think the introduction of Justice was a good touch and I am eager to see how things turnout between him and Hogany. I do like Coast as the villain- I think he will add some good suspense and chaos to the book.
The beginning of the story started slower than I anticipated but it does pick up steam. The flow was pretty good; I like the diversity of the characters and how they had their own identity. But listen, when the plot twist happened, I was swiping pages so fast to see what would happen next. If there’s drama and secrets, I am absolutely going to read it! I cannot for part two.
This urban fiction novel is about a woman named Mahogany who inherits her father’s drug empire after he gets locked up. Their crew is called The Table and not everyone gets to have a seat if they’re not at the top of their game.
After inheriting the business from her father, Mahogany pulls in her god-sister Tiffany and her best friend Morae.Together these girls rule The Table with an iron fist. In this male-dominated field not everyone likes the fact that they have to answer to women.
Mahogany is smart and calculating. She was clearly meant to be a boss because she has no issues keeping her workers in line and making tough decisions.
Tiffany is the sexy, gun-toting baddie that is the head of Mahogany’s security. She knows what she wants and doesn’t settle for anything less.
Morae is the friend you want by your side when it’s time to roll up on the ops. She shoots first and asks questions last.
This book is set in New York and it gives all the vibes. The dialogue between characters was definitely authentic. I also loved their sisterhood and how straight up they were with each other.
The romance we get was also hitting. The character Money played no games in going after who he wanted and I loved every minute watching him hunt her down. All I have to say is…I want more of him and his love interest because that shit was HOT.
The pacing was also very much on point for me. We were able to take our time in getting to know the ladies but when it was time to turn on the action it was definitely there.
I also want to let you guys know that there is a cliffhanger. I’ve been assured that Part 2 is coming real soon and I can’t wait because things are about to get wild. Somebody is trying to take Mahogany off her throne and when she finds out who…bodies are more than likely going to drop. All in all, it's a solid introduction to a new series!
Charge it to the Game: Real B*tches at the Table – NAI
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher in order to provide an honest review.
Authoress Nai is a female American author who is quickly becoming known as the “Hood Love Dealer” in the urban fiction scene. Hailing from New York, Nai has 20 published novels such as “For the Love of my Savage” and “A Thug’s Love Mended My Heart”.
Mahogany is handed the reins to her father’s criminal empire when he is sent away to do a bid. So now she is the head of the Table, running things with girls and keeping it tight and on lock. But like always, there will be haters not happy that a female is running things and giving orders out.
Just as Mahogany is planning to make moves, someone who claims to be family, some guy calling himself Santana, someone that she knew nothing about comes in – and that’s when things start to really pop off.
A move is made to end her life, but not one to shy away from getting dirty and handling business, Mahogany sets out to find out who was stupid enough to pull something like this and why.
And just to add to the shit, Santana is trying to make moves and undermine Mahogany’s place as head of the Table. Well one thing is for sure, she wasn’t going to make it easy for him and sure as well wasn’t going to let that happen. That’s not why her Daddy made her the head of the Table.
“Charge it to the Game” is a true to life look as life on the streets when you are the woman in charge, or women in this case. You have to work harder and be harder and that is something the author really highlights and gets across in her writing. I loved the tension between Mahogany and the men in her life, as well as the thing that’s developing with Tiffany and Money Man. It's just very relatable which as a reader makes it easy to engage and just immerse yourself in the story. The author really left us in the middle of it with the ending, so I hope book 2 isn't far away.
Mahogany has taken over her fathers business with her god sister Tiffany and best friend Morae while her father is on lockdown. Being a woman in the game isn’t easy but its even harder when you are the boss. While Mahogany has the streets respect there is always going to be someone coming for her spot leaving Mahogany and her team scrambling to eliminate the threat.
Very rarely do I read a book where women are running the streets so I enjoyed reading about Mahogany, Tiffany, and Morae. These women are bosses, they played no games at all and I love it. I like how hard the women went for each other. Each woman knows her role and plays it very well, they did not try to step on each other toes or outdo each other, instead they worked as a unit and supported one another. Mahogany, Tiffany, and Morae are totally different and don’t try to fit into anyone’s expectations of who they should be.
I am very curious to see how the love interest introduced in this book will play out. Money was playing no games bro is down for the chase. The intro to Justice has me wanting more of this mystery man, I just know he is going to go hard behind his woman. I also need to know how this family drama is going to play out because when Mahogany puts two and two together its not going to be looking to good for the other party.
Nai left me wanting more so I cant wait for part 2.
What makes a great urban fiction story for you? This story had all the right ingredients for me. I love stories with boss women! Throw in a lil spice and some deceit and I’m good to go lol.
This story follows 3 friends Mahogany, Tiffany, and Morae. They live a dangerous life and the stakes are high. There’s many players at work and I found myself questioning everyone. This is a spoiler-free review but I will say that this is the perfect book to get you out of a reading slump. My only complaint is it was too short and I definitely was left wanting more.
I’m anxiously waiting for part 2 ‼️
Available on Kindle Unlimited for those with the same addiction as me 😆
This was my first time reading from this author, and when I’m reading an author’s work for the first time I try to come in with no expectations. I achieved that with this book. I had zero expectations and in the end I was pleasantly satisfied! The book is titled Charge It to the Game: Real B!tches at the Table and that is exactly what it gave. Mahogany, Tiffany, and Morae are real thorough b!tches and best friends, but most of all, they have genuine sisterhood that can’t be broken! In this book there were lies, a sprinkle of BD drama, betrayals, a lot of sexual tension, and a few plot twists! Never once when I was reading this was I like “this is boring!” The storyline held my attention and the characters were likable! And I’m sorry but Santana is either going to have to d!e or get in LINE! Now the only thing that is irking me is that I didn’t know that this was apart of an unfinished series lol! I definitely would read more from this author and get into part two of this series! If you are an Urban Fiction reader, then definitely check this out!
A Man's World Is Nothing Without A Woman Or A Girl
Nai, oh my good and messy. It's always some men feel a woman is supposed to be still and silent. Mahogany dad knew who he had to get in his seat. Some snakes are in the process of trying to do permanent damage to the crew. Justice is a friend, Montez and Tiff need to just let everything go. Tiff has to be down right now, and all things aren't what they seem. It's secrets that's gonna come out. Will it be ok in the end?🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
This was my first read by Nai and I was not disappointed! It’s very rare you get to read urban fiction books where the woman are the HBIC! All three ladies carry themselves well even though everyone is not happy about their positions. This book was definitely a page turner all the way to the end. That cliffhanger though whew! Definitely looking forward to reading part 2!
This book started off slow but the drama he picked up fast. Three young ladies living the fast life but we’re underestimated and slept on! They had to make examples out of certain persons in order to get their respect. No spoilers here. Read this great page turner, you won’t be disappointed with Mohagany, Tiffany or Morae.
This book is really good. I’m so used to reading and watching shows where the males are the lead gangsters and thugs. But this book had some bad bitches taking charge and not taking no BS I LOVE IT! My favorite is Mahogany, she hold her crew and her family down and if one person get out of line everybody has her back.
I really liked the story line, however, I felt like there was something missing. There were times where you would be ready to be hyped up but the particular part wasn’t giving the same energy. I love the authors writing style and will be reading more from her. Looking forward to part 2 #butleronbooksreview
This book started off slow for my liking but when the drama the picked up it picked up fast. These young ladies living the fast life but we’re straight bosses and I loved that!! This was a new to me author and I’m sooo glad I took the chance to try her out!! I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
I love a book when women are a boss in these streets! Mahogany, Tiffany, & Morae got things on lock. Now, Santana is going to be a problem. Why he think he should be the HNIC is beyond me. You left the nest and don’t know how Cool ran things, but he’a going to see.
I can’t wait to see things blossom between the couples in the making. You never disappoint Nai!!
When I first started to read this book, it took a while for things to pick up. Once it did, there were a lot of moving parts/drama jam packed into a few chapters. I enjoyed the girl boss/friendship element in this book. Hopefully in part two we get to see more of the girls’ personal and love lives. There are some unanswered questions and things I would like to see unfold.
Overall I did enjoy the book. There were a lot of moving pieces which I don’t mind. The plot/action started around 58% of the book. I do feel like once the action and when things really started to happen that’s when it was really good and then it ended. Will I read book 2 yes! Hopefully we get some answers to who the heck started the shooting!
Chile I love me some Justice ALL READY!!! Can’t wait to see what happens with him and mahogany. Tiffany needs to gone head and hook up with Money for real. Lawddd I just know Mo about to tear some shit up!! Good job on this book but imma need part 2 Monday!!!
See thus is why men get murked. Always trying to take something that aint theirs nor was it offered. Its obvious his sister was put in her position for a reason. She already gotta hear it from her bd. But Justice is going to be the one to put her all the way up there.
I just love how Mahogany works. She is not for no games. If her big brother thinks he is going to come to the East Coast and start some trouble, he has another thing coming. She got some Hittas behind her that will clear his whole other blood line.
The author put it all on the table!!! This book was so good. Face paced and really makes you get to know the characters and feel like you are in the streets with them! This storyline gets the reader hooked and invested in each character. If you want a page turner of a book then give this a read!!!
This story gave me everything, and I definitely want more. The characters were interesting. The plot executed well. The angst, conflict, and setup for the sequel had me enthralled.
Listen, all I have to say is give me more. By the time I got to the last page, I almost felt like throwing this book. How the author could just cut me off like that was cruel. I hope book two is around the corner!
This book was a bingeable page turner! The female empowerment in this story rules! Mahogany is a true boss and does not play ANY games – with her business or her daughter. I love the relationship she has with her two friends, in whom she puts the highest trust, her ride-or-die girls. The romance parts of the story were on point as well. Please give me more Justice, along with more Tiffany and Montez. I think the characters are so well developed, and I really want to see where this story goes. I'm low-key obsessed!
Thank you, Nai, for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review!
There's nothing I love more than a female bossy book. I seldom come across them, but I'm happy to discover this one written by Author Nai, a new author to me! Let me tell you some times to anticipate in this read. Not one, but three female bosses are all about the business first and the play second. The character development of Mahogany, Tiffany, and Morae was excellent! In addition, you'd better be careful who you call family because you never know who might try to knock you off the top. This story is just beginning, and I am eager to see how it unfolds. Please let me know when part two is available!🫣🔥💜🔥⚠️
Now, everybody guilty until proven innocent. Santana gone be a problem and I very curious to see what Coolie got to say about this cuz im on his ass and Paris BD? Bihhh you a bum, when is part 2 coming cuz I’m ready 👌🏾
The women don't come to play. They are best friends but they are in a male dominated business... The mafia. By sitting at the head of The Table, Mahogany shows how she gets down and how she means business. Money tickled me because he is on Tiffany's azz.
