When the enemy is within, you have to trust the one person who could break your control.
Watching his father almost destroy the family business for the love of a gold-digging wife and a greedy half-brother almost killed Gideon Cavendish. Working night and day, he dragged the company he loved back into prosperity, but now the threat to his family has re-surfaced. Finding out his half-brother is involved in a heinous plot linked to an old CIA project is shocking. More shocking is his reaction to the beautiful undercover operative who will save the very thing he loves the most. His mother's legacy.
Nadia 'Duchess' Benassi has always fought for the underdog. Working as second in command at Shadow Elite has renewed her faith in people and shown her that sometimes you have to trust in those around you. Going undercover as PA to Gideon Cavendish is a test she will not fail. He is grumpy, controlling, arrogant and conceited, yet even that can't stop the way the sexy CEO makes her skin tingle when he looks at her. Getting under her skin is one thing, but when Gideon makes it clear he wants in her bed and her heart, showing her the man beneath the mask, Duchess must decide if she wants to risk the life she has for the one she didn't know she needed.
As tempers flare and the threats rise, Gideon and Duchess must put aside their attraction and focus on the end game of stopping a network intent on harming the innocent-- even if it costs them everything.
Duchess breaks my heart here, she is so smart, sassy, strong, confident in her work and devious when needed, she can kill a man with just a look, but when it comes to her self worth she has doubts....doubts she will ever be enough, doubts anyone will pick her.... Shadow Elite are terrifyingly smart and dangerous but even they are blindsided, just when they think they have everything they need, BOOM, everything changes and nothing is as it seems. A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited, but this is part of a continuing storyline, so if you missed the first books in the series you need to read those first.
Nadia ( Dutchess) and Gideon’s story is one hell of a ride. Nadia is protective but so is Gideon. The plot is great, there is a lot going on in the background in Gideon’s family. Suspense, love, humor and bantering is making this story to one of my favorite stories. I love the chemistry. Can’t wIt for the next story.
Nadia is a badass on the Shadow team as second in command and the team is still trying to take down Project Cradle.
Duchess is undercover and working with Damon when Gideon as they investigate their youngest brother Carter.
Duchess and Gideon have a love/hate attraction for one another. Gideon tries hard to stay away from Nadia, but it just makes it worse when he demands to his brother Damon that she will be his PA now.
This book brings us Nadia's aka Duchess story that include some really sexy hot scenes with her boss, CEO Gideon. It also shows a more gentle side to Gideon when Nadia fails to come to work and he ends up going to her place to find her sick with the flu. Instead of leaving, he gently takes care of her.
This is the fifth book in the Shadow Elite Series. It is best if you start at the beginning to get the scope of the storyline. I can't wait to read the next book and hoping it will finally bring everything to closure.
WOW. Hold onto your panties ladies because this is one heck of a ride!! Maddie Wade just keeps getting better and better. This book was phenomenal!! Gideon and Duchess are a match made in heaven. Their chemistry burning so bright I half thought my kindle would set on fire. Gideon is everything any breathing woman could want in a man and then some. He’s larger than life, arrogant at first as he fights his attraction to the beautiful Duchess. He’s determined, arrogant, stoic, yet caring, kind and devoted to those he loves. Watching him fight his instincts not to be hurt again made my heart ache for him. Despite the way in which he and his brother were treated as kids by the one person who should have put them first, Gideon is a strong man with an uncompromising moral compass. He is a truly beautiful character. The epitome of what we want a man to be. Duchess is such a badass. We’ve gotten to know her in past books, the way she guides everyone on the team, the way she interacts and genuinely cares for the people who have become her family. She’s almost like a mother hen. But, watching her own story unfold was spellbinding. She’s such a beautiful and strong character. Highly trained and more than capable of kicking the biggest and baddest of asses. She has her own issues and insecurities to deal with about getting into something with Gideon. Watching her overcome those, allowing the steel walls around her heart to fall was awe inspiring. She’s so brave and strong. Maddie Wade has once again knocked it out of the park. Her talents genuinely know no bounds. The steam building between Gideon and Duchess was like an out of control train. You hold on tight or get the heck out of the way because there’s no stopping the inevitable explosion of passion between the two of them. This is a seriously addictive read. This is definitely a book I’ll be buying in ebook format and paperback!! Cannot recommend this book highly enough. Not enough stars in the world to fully portray how absolutely brilliant this story is.
Together with Bás, Duchess has shaped the Shadows team. She herself was an MI6 agent but stepped away when her boss left innocent people behind, people who had helped them and their lives were no longer safe. Always standing up for the innocent, always caring for others. But who takes care of Nadia/Duchess?
Not Gideon Cavendish. He brings out the bad in Nadia. He is a half-brother of the man who suspects Team Shadow of involvement in Project Cradle. (If you've read previous books in this series, you know that this is a long-running affair that everyone wants to end.) Nadia works as a PA for his brother Damon, but Gideon needs her as his PA. He was the man she hated with a passion and wanted with a desperation she couldn't fathom. He plagued her nightmares and her dreams in equal measure. When she has to work with him, it soon becomes clear that their attraction is dangerous. Dangerous because it distracts them both from the case they're working on.
I thought Duchess was beautifully portrayed. In previous parts I was already charmed by her personality, which came out even more in this book. Skilled at what she does, empathetic to those around her and highly intelligent. Gideon was a man who grew into his role and I really thought he was perfect for her. Caring, protective and putting her first like Duchess always does for others. Attracting and pushing away is his way of controlling his lust for her until he realizes that he wants to have her and keep her close.
A beautiful story about people from the Shadows team. I loved seeing previous characters again. The mutual bond between the members of Shadows really feels like a family and each one cares for the happiness of the other. Very funny to read about the threats Gideon takes to make sure he does the right thing for Duchess and otherwise leave her alone. The network around Project Cradle is closing slowly but surely, but not without danger!
highly recommended
I received an ARC copy of this book via the author and I'm voluntarily leaving a review
First things first...I am a big Maddie Wade Fan. Her Eidolon, Fortis Security, Ryoshi Delta series are favorites. However the Shadow Elite series is a cut above. Drama, suspense, danger, intrigue and spicy romance are ear each book is better than the last. The ongoing pursuit of taking down and permanently dismantling of Project Cradle has been the one of the continuous threads woven through this series. Subterfuge, blackmail, assassination attempts and murder as well as a Mommy Dearest are all in play as the team works to get one step closer in discovering who is the head of Project Cradle in order take them out.
Nadia "Duchess " Benassi may look like a prim buttoned up PA in her undercover assignment. She's anything but with her do the right thing attitude and take no prisoners demeanor. Gideon Cavendish is grouchy, demanding, has a seemingly cold persona and is drop dead gorgeous. He, along with his brother Damon, have worked night and day to save the family's business that their father seems hellbent on destroying by giving his youngest son carte blanche in the company. Nadia and Gideon's work relationship turns personal when he fully supports her after a personal tragedy. There's no going back from that not that they want too. Events escalate quickly and take a deadly turn before needed information can be obtained. The mission is in limbo but Gideon and Nadia are headed for an HEA.
Nadia and Gideon’s story is one you won’t want to miss. It has it all, action, suspense and sparks are flying all over the place! The dynamic between these two is everything I thought it would be when she first introduced the characters in this series. This is a continuation of the series and I highly suggest reading them in order however I suppose they could be read as a standalone but you just won’t have as much background information on the characters/overall plot. I’m from the US and Maddie Wade is a UK author so I learn something new each book. I really enjoy her writing and the books and hope that others will read it but also realise/realize (example) that there are some spelling differences and some things are named differently but it is written correctly. Some of the words I used my dictionary on my kindle to make sure I was understanding exactly what she was meaning to say so that I could learn and not just assume, I enjoy that aspect to. It wasn’t hard to follow so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to my friends but thought it was worth a note so they aren’t sent lots of emails with typos that aren’t typos. I can’t wait to see what she has in store next but I have to say I get more invested in these characters every book!
This is the fifth book in the Shadow Elite series. All I can say is OMG! Get the tissues out along with a fan... you're gonna need both, trust me. Nadia, a.k.a. Duchess, goes undercover at Cavendish, a company run and owned by one Gideon Cavendish. To say he is challenging to deal with and work for, is the understatement of the century. Used to getting his way, he demands Nadia work for him as his PA. She agrees but, with the stipulation that he gets her more access to the youngest Cavendish brother. He is in with the nefarious Project Cradle up to his ears and they need all the info they can get their hands on to stop him and the other human traffickers. When it comes to Gideon and Nadia, they frequently butt heads, but they have chemistry in spades. They are so hot together, they practically melted my phone. They are both first and foremost, protectors and this causes a little friction. Get this book ASAP and see if and how they get the HEA they deserve. Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.
Book 5 in this series focuses on Duchess and Gideon. (I do recommend that you read this series in order to get the benefits of understanding the previous characters and their relationships.) Duchess was a MI6 agent but she steps away after her boss left people behind in a previous job and felt she could no longer work with him. We now find Duchess working undercover for 2 brothers Damian and Gideon Cavendish and wow do some sparks fly…. I’m not giving storylines away here so suffice to say there are plenty of under currants within their organisation due to a stepbrother, step mum and their dad all vying for control of the company. The story is well written and connects with the Eidolon team and others in the organisation. I felt story is well crafted and how everything is resolved ensures this is another page turner from Maddie Wade. As always plenty of suspense and action, romance, steamy scenes, and a plot that leaves you wondering what happens in the next instalment. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A sassy, yet deadly operative + A sexy uber alpha male = my favorite type of characters! I loved Duchess, her sassiness when it comes to Gideon, not backing down from anything and giving Gideon a run for his money. And boy o boy did she. The attraction between these two from the beginning was sizzling. The storyline, in my opinion, was excellent as is most of Maddie Wade's books I've read. There is a plot, danger, love, comedy and what I thoroughly enjoy is how everything comes together at the end. Too many times I have read a book thinking this is an excellent plot to begin with and I can't wait to find out how the book is going to end, only to have the ending be anticlimactic. This is never the case with any of Maddie's books!!! How she introduces the next character in line for a book is one of my favorite things. It is what makes me look forward to the next book and the next and the next. So, from an eagerly, excited reader to an awesome author, Maddie Wade...Thank you very much for the entertaining value, I'm sure you don't only bring to me but to all your fans.
Nadia AKA the Duchess is the next in line for her story in the Shadow Elite series. Along with Bás she is one of the founders of the team. Nadia’s working undercover as her friends PA. the plan is to get the info on his younger half-brother, and stop the baby trafficking ring. If only his older grumpy brother didn’t make her hot and bothered things would be great. Gideon Cavendish watches the money, and oversees the expansion of his families company. He knows there are dirty dealing afoot. However, he will do anything to keep the Co. clean. He just needs to somehow limit the control his step-mother has on his father. Oh and somehow get thoughts of Nadia out of his head. It will take them both finally working together to resolve some of the problems. Though it doesn’t help having an old enemy moving in to try and stop them. It should all work out hopefully. Ms Wade has added another great read to this series. It’s one of those books that has you connecting well with the characters, and reading on the finish.
The next in the Shadow series is another must read in one sitting!! Dutchess and Gideon's story isn't your typical suspenseful romance story. This time the bada$$ is the female lead Dutchess/Nadia (except when it comes to the bedroom, the it's alpha Gideon's turn to take control!) Nadia is undercover in Gideon's company trying to investigate his youngest brother's illegal activities with permission from Gideon and his middle brother. As Gideon's personal assistant, the attraction between Nadia and Gideon flares into epic proportions. But she has to keep it has professional as possible considering her team is also watching. They action is more spy type with a little bit of suspense. The heat between Gideon and Nadia is hot! It is a must read!!
I do suggest you read the others in the series 1st as there are parts that will make more sense.
Lethal Salvation by Maddie Wade is another tablet exploding romantic mystery in the Shadow Elite series! The ongoing mystery of the heinous Project Cradle means you can’t afford to miss any titles in this wonderful series. I could not put it down. Why are Gideon and Damon the black sheep of the family? How many despicable activities is fair-haired half brother Carter involved in that could destroy the company? The sizzling attraction between Gideon and Nadia (The Duchess) melts the book pages. How Carter, Marsha are involved in the Company Gideon brought back from the brink despite Cavendish senior’s actions The more you read, the bigger the mystery …. how is Bas involved? Who controls Project Cradle? You cannot miss this book, or the Shadow Elite series if you love a really spell binding romantic mystery!

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Lethal Salvation . This story is Spectacular from start to finish . Nadia goes by Duchess use to work for MI6 but left her job . She now is part of an off the books shadow team . Her and Niall O'Scanlan known as Bas are the bosses . Duchess is working undercover as a secretary to find information and stop a group involved in human trafficking . Duchess has her work cut out for her avoiding the sexy Giddeon Cavendish and the smoking hot chemistry between them while keeping her head focused on the job . But it's definitely harder then it seems when Giddeon's life is in danger . Can two people so different make a relationship work . I really enjoyed reading this well written story . It's full of action and suspense and sexy times . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
Brilliant - this is another incredible book from Maddie Wade, who is definitely one of my favourite authors. The Shadow Elite team are continuing to hunt down the people behind Project Cradle, and Nadia, aka Duchess, goes undercover as a PA to Damon and Gideon so they can get closer to Carter, their half brother. Gideon is arrogant and strong willed, but Duchess stands up to him and they find themselves initially fighting a mutual attraction, before the chemistry between them explodes. The story is fast paced and keeps your interest from the start, the other team members are also involved so we are able to keep up with developments in their lives too. The team continue to be very close knit, like a family, and I loved the way Gideon was warned very clearly not to hurt her. I really recommend this book, and am so looking forward to the next.
I absolutely adore Maddie Wade, one of my favourite authors, and this story is no exception to her amazingess. Nadia, aka Duchess, what an absolute badass, who is so strong, so powerful, so smart, and yet has the heart of a mama bear looking after her cubs (aka her team). Loved her character. Dream woman right there. And Gideon, boy Mr Tough, I take no s*** from no one, and won't tolerate anything other than perfection alpha learns to lean on such a strong woman and also be her supporter when she needs him to stand back and watch her handle business, but hold her hand when the shadows are lurking. Really enjoyed this instalment, cannot wait for more! Those teasers of what is to come. Eek. I don't know how I will be able to survive the anticipation of Bas in March. Cannot wait. Highly recommend Maddie and this series.
I have been a Maddie Wade fan for some time now but her books just seem to get better and better. No sooner do you worry about a series being over then Maddie pulls something else out! This book has it all, excitement, humour, steamy love scenes, murder and subterfuge. This book follows the story of Gideon and Duchess although we also get the opportunity to catch up with friends from previous books. The dynamic between Duchess and Gideon is brilliant and there is plenty of banter between the two of them as she keeps him on his toes. This book could be read as a standalone but to get the most out of it, I would recommend reading the series in order. As always Maddie leaves us with a tantalising glimpse of the next book, which keeps me on my toes waiting for the next installment. All I can say is that I highly recommend this book (and in fact all books by this brilliant author.
Another amazing book from Maddie Wade I absolutely adored Duchess and what made her the way she was. And Gideon he had lessons to learn along the way. CEO Gideon and his brother Damon were the black sheep of their family and in trouble, but help came from Duchess undercover and her Shadow team. I really enjoyed this book. The cast of characters were a great mix and the dynamic of them being family surely shows through. I enjoyed the sharp relationship at the start between Duchess and Gideon but as they slowly came to know each other that changed. Especially loved when Gideon looks after her when she gets sick. Another wonderful book you just can't help but enjoy!! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
Wow, I love Nadia and Gideon! Maddie has done it again! Nadia was brought in undercover to help take down Gideon and Damon’s brother Carter. Gideon had an attraction to Nadia from the beginning and you could say they had a love/hate relationship. They could literally throw daggers at one another. Gideon moved her to where she was his PA putting them in constant access to one another which only helped build that love/hate bridge. After working beside each other, feelings for each of them grew without either realizing it until it was something they could not hide from. Lethal Salvation is a wonderful addition to the Shadow Elite Series. It is not required to read the other books in the series before this one but if you do, the characters will be more familiar to you.
Duchess, a member of Shadow Elite and former MI6 agent, had been undercover for a year when her assignment gets shifted a little to her “working” for Gideon, CEO of Cavendish Company, as his PA instead of his brother Damon. As the story progresses the fire burn hot, things are difficult more often than not, and it becomes dangerous as feelings are caught. Lethal Salvation set the thrill level high and kept tragedy in the reader’s eye. Another link in the chain is dismantled, but there are still plenty more to take down before Shadow can call their overall mission is complete.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
The shadow elite series has very interesting part and women that are strong characters and important in each book. Duchess was acting as a PA for a large corporation in London for over a year when the Elite team was hired by two brothers to force their younger half brother out of the company. He’d been using it to hide his illegal businesses and one of them was the baby operation the group discovered previously. Duchess was very attracted to Gideon, one of the brothers, but she worked for Damian. That changed when Gideon wanted her to work for him. He thought his attraction would end if she worked for him. It didn’t. The book is very suspenseful and I enjoyed it.
Well Maddie Wade did it again with another phenomenal book in the ShadowElite Series Book 5 I actually have been waiting patiently for Nadia aka Durchess story and they're still going after Carter Cavendish and his mother for project cradle. She was working with Damon Cavendish but his bossy brother fired another pa and now she is working with Gideon Cavendish but can they both find away to work together or will someone from the inside of the company come after her or Gideon?this book is filled with suspense and action packed and chemistry and romance and so so much that we have come to love with this shadow elite series.
Nadia “Duchess’ Benassi is under cover helping Gideon Cavendish and his brother, Damon, keep the family business legit and afloat while trying to sink their half-brother, step-mother and father or at least let them sink under the weight of their crimes.
Gideon had a nice redemption but Duchess showed little of what made her a fan favorite in this lusty romance. The delicious nastiness wrapped in villainous crimes and a twisty plot was built with an inconclusive ending. Perhaps this reader would’ve connected with the major threads and enjoyed the backdrop had this outing come earlier in the series, instead of feeling this was an incomplete read. Rating: 2.75stars
Lethal Salvation is an awesome book. Duchess has made a life for herself leading the Shadow Elite team. An undercover job leads her to Gideon. His surly behavior drives her insane, but she is wildly attracted to him. She is great at her job, and she has to figure out who is trying to harm Gideon. Can she have a great personal life too? Maddie Wade always writes great characters, and her stories are full of action and suspense. I couldn’t put this book down. It had a lovely happily ever after. I can’t wait for the next book!
Nadia and Gideon’s story was sweet! Nadia is undercover in his company, trying to get dirt on his brother. Gideon knows who Nadia really is, and while she’s not someone he’d typically go for, something about her draws him in.
The bigger story that runs through all these books continues, but it seems that they’re getting closer to sorting that out.
I enjoyed getting to know more about Duchess, and catching up a little on the lives of her friends and co-workers. I love the way they stick up for their own, too.
Really enjoying this series. Look forward to reading more.
This story is number 5 in the Shadow Elite series by Maddie Wade. Nadia, aka Duchess, is co leader of the covert ops Shadow Elite team along with Bas. She was recruited from MI6 and goes undercover working for CEO Gideon Cavendish as his secretary. Gideon's younger brother is involved with a group called Project Cradle, a notorious sex and drug trafficking ring. The sparks fly between Duchess and Gideon and he realizes that he would do anything to win the elusive Nadia's heart!!!! I loved this story and give it 5 stars!!!!!! Maddie's books are awesome!❤❤❤❤❤

Maddie Wade: Duchess/Nadia and Gideon are so hot that they actually melt into each other when they come together! O. M. G. (Fan). Maddie’s “Lethal Salvation” is a fantastic addition in the next installment of her Shadow series. You will not want to put it down, although I do recommend reading the others in this series first to help you place the other characters and their dynamic (Love Jack!). Every book Maddie has written is fantastic, and this book is equally as good! LOVE THIS BOOK and you Maddie Wade!
I’m loving this series and this book is a fantastic addition! Dutchess, aka Nadia, is a tough b@ll busting, get it done woman. Gideon is a brash, arrogant a hole. When these two meet sparks fly. The chemistry is off the charts. Watching these two clash and resist is hilarious and. Watching love take hold is so romantic. The action and danger is scary and exciting. This is a great book and you definitely need to read it!
Love this series. Gideon and Duchess were on fire once they both stopped denying their attraction. Add in the danger, suspense, action, and mystery of an Shadow Elite novel and you get another terrific book from Maddie. Gideon was the perfect man for Duchess, alpha protective but understanding she was a strong, independent, and fierce woman who just needed him to be by her side, not in front of her. And the way these too just "got" each other... great love.
Lethal Salvation I love Gideon and Nadias story. The chemistry was amazing. The story line was fun to read and fluid. Nadia and her team were sent to get close to Gideons brother and get intel on Project Cradle. They felt they were finally getting close when the lead they were so close to was extinguished. The dynamic for the series is excellent. Can’t wait to dad more from Maddie
