Gordon Ryan was a writer with a varied history. He lived and worked in six foreign nations and a dozen or more states, including Alaska. He served in the 1st Recon Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps in the aftermath of the Cuban Missile Crisis, and in the Air Force in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He also served as a member of the American Embassy staff in Dublin, Ireland, during the violent seventies. His first published novel, Dangerous Legacy, was released in 1994 and he published ten more over the intervening years with the three Pug Connor novels, the last one released in early 2011.
Seems like a barely literate man without an editor got a book deal with a short timeline. All of the evidence of why he's so good at Jiu Jitsu are just "I'm better than you, work harder". I love watching Gordon grapple, and learning from his instructional videos, but this book is just a cash grab and is terrible.
Terrible book, some of the writings are actually from another book, it seems Gordon thinks he’s John Danaher. Also this is not the same Gordon Ryan that wrote all those other books. This is the Gordon Ryan that claims he’s the best No Gi Grappler of all time yet he’s afraid of tummy aches…
