Short and sweet

This was a cute story about a little boy and little girl growing up together and destined to be together. They were faithful to each other even when apart. She has been kidnapped now and He is part of the team to rescue her. I love the people in this series and this was very sweet. A little too much sometimes but it's nice for a change. I definitely figured out who the villain was right away unfortunately. But it still played out well.

And it's over... Or is it?!

My favorite series has come to and end and I'm not OK. The only thing keeping me sane now is the knowledge that in September Janie Crouch is starting a new series and I'll. Be seeing my favorite people again.

I've been a fan since book 1 and I can say without a doubt this is my favorite series out there. Since the beginning it was filled with mystery, hot and swoony moments but most of all it was filled with love and amazing friendships that make this group of people FAMILY!

Amazing ending for an amazing series ❤️

This story was a perfect way to complete the series (although the author did mention a few of the next generation in detail, so that got me wondering if we’ll see them in the future 👀) as for Ethan & Jess, we’ve seen them grow throughout the series, they’re soulmates that have lost their way recently but the author brings them back together in an epic way, it was suspenseful, sensual and brought out every emotion. One of my favourite romantic suspense series EVER!

It's always sad to see a series end, but Forever is the perfect end for the Linear Tactical Series. Jess and Ethan's story is sweet, and sexy, and satisfying. Farewell citizens of Oak Creek and thank you for the hours of pleasure you gave me.

Holy Whatever I can't say on Amazon! I have tell you, anyone picking up this book needs to have at least read a portion of the Linear Tactical series. Not because Janie Crouch needs to sell more books (although I'm sure that would be fine with her), but because the very beginning of Ethan and Jess is there. But more importantly, their personalities were born there. And boy, do their personalities come through on this, the final book of the series.

I WILL NEVER LOOK AT A MANGO WITHOUT LAUGHING AGAIN. Its up to you, person who is thinking of buying this book, to figure that one out.

This book alternates between action, suspense, romance, and back again. It is FULL of everything that is Linear Tactical. Oh, I've read the one and two star reviews on Amazon, as I always do, and in this case, in fact in the case of every Linear Tactical book written, I just laugh. There always have to be a few people who just don't get it. This series never had to be perfect when describing tactical situations. It never had to be perfect when describing guns, or bombs, or whatever. We aren't reading anything on Janes website (and I mean Janes, not Janie, I do know the difference). This whole series is PERFECT for the one thing that had to be there - the romance. To the person who said that Janie Crouch makes weak heroines, the damsels in distress type, boy are you way off the mark. She builds characters that are strong, and characters who will stay in your thoughts a long time after you've finished the book. And her women are able to withstand things that would break other women in that situation.

No, this is not the Janie Crouch fan club. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I'll tear a book apart if it isn't well written, if it isn't entertaining, if it isn't well plotted, and sometimes if it is just written to a 15 year old audience. No worry of that ever happening here. Thanks to Forever, I went back and started reading the series all over again (I'd already done this once, lol)

I'm going to miss these people. Over the course of the series, they've become family. The reader knows them, knows where they live, what they like and dislike, and most of all the reader knows them. I'm going to miss Oak Creek, Wyoming, and yes, if you can read Forever without shedding happy tears, you must be dead.

I will keep saying this, Janie Crouch hits what she aims at, and her aim was really on point for this book, the finale for the series.

This story is the perfect add-on to the Linear Tactical series. If you have followed the series you know that Ethan belongs to Finn and Charlie (EAGLE) and Jess to Cade and Peyton (ECHO). They are absolutely adorable children and have appeared throughout the books in different instances – the best being in BABY where Baby has to babysit and when Jess declares to Quinn that Ethan belongs to her... "my Ethan”. Such sweetness! But in this book, we get to see them all grown up because it happens about twenty years into the future on the Linear Tactical timeline when Jess and Ethan have ventured out on their own to make their marks in the world. Yet family is never far away. It’s a wonderful story with a little sexy, a little sweet, danger, excitement, and lots of love. It’s their FOREVER.

I have truly loved every story in this series. All the amazing characters, their journeys to find happiness, sharing in their celebrations and heartaches along the way and seeing each of the couples embrace their situations and surroundings and forging their way as one. One family unit, whether by blood or circumstance, they rise to every occasion. It's a bittersweet read to take one final journey into the Linear Tactical world and come full circle from seeing Jess and Ethan growing from children who need to be cared for and sheltered to the amazing young adults they become embracing who they were always meant to be together with their families by their sides. This will always be one of my favorite series to revisit and I look forward to seeing what lies ahead in the upcoming Zodiac Tactical series and the new adventures yet to come. I cannot wait to read Wavy and Ian's story in Code Name: Aries! (especially from the hook at the end of Forever, where we get a glimpse of what's ahead.)

Two hearts that have been one since the day they met as young children. And now Ethan and Little Jess all grown up. This is a lovely romance with a gangbuster adventure plot in the middle. Flashback memories are not my favorite writing device but for those of us who have known these two all their lives, it works. Another great story! Rated R.

What a fantastic ending to the Linear Tactical series! I have been hoping and waiting for this book ever since four-year-old Jess claimed seven-year-old Ethan as "my Ethan" in Eagle. Like his father, Finn, Ethan protects those he cares about, and Jess had his heart from the get-go. Little Jess is a certified genius who has little to no fear of the world. She can outthink many adults and talk circles around the others. She can be obstinate and impulsive, frequently getting her into hot water, leaving Ethan to get her out.

Nothing changed as Ethan and Jess grew older. They belonged to each other, and everyone knew it. When Jess was fourteen, she earned an offer to attend a prestigious school, something she really wanted to do. But when she started talking about giving it up rather than leave Ethan behind, he knew he had to do something. Advancing his plans by a few months, he attempted to sneak away to join the military, removing Jess's reason to stay. Ethan's conversation with his father made me laugh (GO NAVY!). Over the next few years, Ethan and Jess don't see each other often, but their feelings for each other never change.

Then the two drift a little bit apart. Doubts arise about feelings. Neither Jess nor Ethan has any question about their own feelings. Each knows that there will never be anyone else. Misunderstandings and time apart lead to fears that the other wants something else. Just as Ethan makes decisions about his future and leaves the military, he gets tapped for a critical mission. Jess and three of her colleagues have been kidnapped while on vacation. Complicating matters, secret government research stolen from their lab may be up for sale to some bad people, and Jess is the top suspect for the theft.

From here, the suspense and action, combined with Ethan and Jess's relationship, kept me glued to the pages. With alternating viewpoints between Ethan and Jess, there was always something going on. The men who have Jess and her friends mean business and Jess fears for their lives. She's not the type to give up, having been raised around the men and women of Linear Tactical, and her brain runs a mile a minute searching for options. When Ethan and his team arrive, the race is on to get them to safety. Twists and turns, betrayals and renewals, kept the action moving. In the rare quiet moments, Ethan and Jess get to talk and clear the air between them. But will they survive to carry out that future they've waited so long for? The final confrontation was a nail-biter. Jess's strength in the face of almost certain death was incredible but not surprising. I wasn't sure how they would get out of it, but the author came through with a rip-roaring finish. The epilogue was fantastic and brought their story full circle, back to where it all began.

One of the things I loved about this book was the flashbacks showing the development of the relationship between Jess and Ethan. From their first meeting to their wedding day, the description of "soulmates" was never in question. Some of them were funny and sweet (mangoes, anyone?), some were steamy (hello, Paris), and some were heartbreaking (Happy Birthday, Jess). Ethan's strength of will and determination to do the right thing didn't surprise me, nor did Jess's attempts to get her way.

I'm sad to see this series end, but I can't wait to dig into the Zodiac Tactical series and fully expect to see some of the LT folks again. And yes, Janie, I would LOVE to see a Linear Tactical: The Next Generation series someday.

This is Jess and Ethan's story and boy do they have an adventure you hope they can survive. Jess is so smart but sometimes the decisions she makes turn out to be very questionable and they do not help her with her relationship with Ethan. He has his hands full trying to fix the things Jess does and keep her safe at the same time. I really felt sorry for Jess when some of the things she did would backfire on her and Ethan. I found myself wondering if these soulmates would ever find their HEA.

What an outstanding ending to a sensational series. Every book in the series will keep you on edge and are full of mystery, suspense and romance with wonderful characters. It was great seeing how the past couples were doing. Janie is a remarkable author and I have enjoyed every one of her series and look can't wait for Zodiac Tactical.

I started this, put it aside for a couple of weeks, then went back and finished it because I was bored.

The characters are young - 21 and 24. Not really my thing. Of course they act like they're much older. She's some kind of genius, he's a military expert even though he was a medic? I suppose all SEALS are supposed to be bad-ass so it just goes with the territory.

Our FMC is kidnapped with 3 friends while on holiday and the MMC is part of the "unofficial" team sent in to rescue them. There is some stolen research that is a factor. I didn't quite get why this was an off the books rescue but I'm sure there were reasons.

One of the people kidnapped is suspected of stealing the research. Pretty obvious who it is. Stupid decisions are made during the rescue. For example, you've got one person injured, seven or so who are healthy. There is one car that doesn't fit everyone. The rendezvous site is about five miles away so of course they decide the injured person is one of the ones that have to make the hike.

Idiotic.

Overall it was ok. Pretty much just fan service for those who have read the other Linear Tactical novels. Not the worst.

The Young Adult genre with its angst and turmoil meets the intensity and danger of the Romantic Suspense and sweetness and adoration of the Romance novels creating just the perfect kind of adorable, enjoyable, and entertaining tale.
Jess O’Conner and Ethan Bollinger have charm and enamored all the Linear Tactical readers since they first walked into the pages of the beloved series. Watching them grow older and closer to each other has been endearing, witnessing their tenser love melted hearts. I loved how this story wrapped up the Linear Tactical series while giving fresh clips of the future years of the characters.
The first-person POV first took me by surprise, but it fits well into the turbulent young love story. The tale has a touch of thrilling tension of suspense, but mainly it is a beautiful, ardent tale of forever kind of love, family, and friends. A fitting and perfect conclusion to one of my favorite series

A wonderful ending to a great series! I knew Jess and Ethan would be wonderful together. And it was fun to get glimpses of past LT heroes and future Zodiac Tactical heroes!

My only thing is that I'm not a big fan of first-person narrative. It was a change from the rest of the LT books. But it helped that I felt I knew these characters so well already.

One of my favorite things was comparing Ethan Bollinger to his dad and "uncles" to see the closeness of their bond, as well as all the life lessons he's learned from those great role models.

I can totally see a Linear Tactical: Next Generation set of books!

This was a story that had to be told even though it had been destined to happen many years ago.

Two Hearts Intertwined And Beating As One! A Beautiful Love Story Almost A Lifetime In The Making!

If you are a fan of this series as I am, you couldn’t help but want to delve into this short but emotion packed novel to finally witness the HEA of Ethan and Jess. Ms. Crouch has written a stellar story of Jess and Ethan, both in their twenties. In an ideal universe every woman would have an Ethan in her life. His selflessness is beyond admirable. Despite the fact that he wants nothing more than to live this life and beyond with his soulmate Jess, he also wants to encourage her to be all she can be, even if it means she must leave him to pursue her education and career goals. I have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for Ethan.

In true Janie Crouch fashion, her creative writing skills have once again emerged and readers are taken on a thrill ride involving angst, deception, and evil doers. Jess’s knight in shining armor/badass navy seal, once again comes to her rescue when she gets herself into trouble.

So, congratulations Jess and Ethan. I will miss this whole series but look forward to the next series beginning with Aries (Zodiac Tactical Series). I’m certain fans of Ms. Crouch won’t be disappointed. She already gave us a taste of what is to come and I can’t wait for the release date toward the end of this month!!!!

Thank you Ms. Crouch for giving me and all your fans amazing stories to read! You have a gift and I’m so blessed you choose to share it with us.

I loved this series and I’m so glad that Ms. Crouch ended it with Jessie and Ethan.
It was meant to be. When Ethan who is a Navy SEAL is brought into the fold of the rescue mission he is confused to say the least. When he sees Uncle Ian, and he’s part of the operation things get more confusing. He soon learns what it all entails of course he doesn’t hesitate. All he sees is the little girl he feel in love with so long ago. What he’s told by his Uncle he just can fathom, and will do whatever it takes to complete the mission. #1 get her safely home, #2 win her back. Last but not least is make her his FOREVER!

Jessie doesn’t know what she’s gotten herself into. It’s not good, and she hopes that maybe Ethan will find her, he is a Navy SEAL after all.. It’s only been him, and she wants him to know it. If she and the others can stay strong maybe just maybe things will work out, and she will see him again. They were meant to be together FOREVER!

I highly recommend this series and this book. What I love is that they are all standalone. They also are all connected. So all the characters will be in each of the books. The Linear Tactical is family so when something is wrong they will be right there. That’s what family does they help out when your in trouble.

A new series starts which is a spin-off with characters from this series, it’s called Zodiac Tactical starts with Ian Derose and Wavy Bollinger. I’m starting shortly.

This is the 14th and final book in the series. This book jumps ahead in time from the others. This book is about Jess and Ethen. Jess and Ethan are older and still together but have be separated for years because of their careers. Jess is given a scholarship to a special science school at 14. At the same time Ethan is 18 and decides to join the military so Jess won’t have to decide to go or not. Now six years later Ethan is called in on a special mission even though he isn’t in the military anymore. Jess has been kidnapped. All of Ethan’s training is about to be put to the test. Something has been stolen from the place Jess works and they suspect her of taking it. Their family has a plan for if it is Jess. Would Ethan give everything up and go off grid to be with Jess if it is her? There is more going on than any of them know. They know something more is going on just not what. Will they be able to figure it out in time? I both love and hate this book. I love the characters and am always ready to read the next book. However I hate that it is the last book in the series. I am already looking forward to the new series Janie is writing. Hopefully some of these characters will cross over into the new series. I can’t say enough about the this series and recommend it enough. It is a must read. Fantastic job Janie finishing up this series.

So sad to read the last book in the series....but they all will return in the new series, yeah!

I have been looking forward to embracing Jess and Ethan again after quite a long wait, but I wanted to try to save story for a special time! I didn't want to see this particular series come to an end! Yes, I knew the characters would survive, but Linear Tactical was my particular favorite and I wanted to hold on to it! Ok, really pathetic I know, so while I knew I had a hospitalization coming up, it can be very distracting in such a choatic setting to concentrate on a good novel! So, I choose to read some unknown authors (to me)! That quickly ended!
You'll notice I'm not summarizing the plot of the novel! Wait, I never do that, since the author and or editors write them very well to begin with!
My joy is reading about my little angels, back together (as they alway's belonged)! As fate would have it, I read forever when I entered the hospital and finished as I leave! (I write this review as I wait on my discharge papers).
What a great story by dear Janie Crouch! A wonderful suspense narrative with lots of lost romantic misunderstandings and
Deaththreats! Still, the immense tapestrey of love and support built into the series, ultimately proves the necessary overwatch leading to the HEA and delicious Epilogue!

I loved this so much!! Just hits you right in the feels. We have always wanted a HEA for Ethan and Jess. Their little formed hail and connection from ages 7/4 was unparalleled. They were each other’s missing piece and other half. Loved the jumps back and forth to random points in their life. It gave us sneak peeks at moments leading into Ian and Wavys book(yayy). Moments in their life as their grew up and their relationship evolved and intensified. Loved that they waited for one another. Love Ethan’s honor and protection of her even from herself at times. They were adorable through the whole series and this book really gave them and all of us who has been invested in the series a hard earned win. Poor Ethan thinking he lost her. And her thinking she needed to take the world on alone, caused lots of issues. Loved the ending!! I am hoping we get a second generation of all the kids as a spin-off series. With the smarty pants Lincoln(baby/Quinn), twins to a couple of the linear team, and all kinds of trouble being caused. It is bound to be a kick ass Series. This book was amazing and I am very sad it’s brought everything to an end. Ugh total book/series hangover. Can’t wait for the zodiac series now.

fell in love with young Ethan, age 7 struggling with dyslexia and the brilliant genius Jessica Elizabeth O’Connor, age 4 when she declared him “My Ethan” in “Eagle” book 2 of Janie Crouch’s Linear Tactical Series. It is a love story that has stood the test of time through not just 13, prior to this one, but through moments in “Echo” when Ethan has a heart to heart with Jess’s dad country music star Cade Connor, who has recently learned about her. Ethan tells him what it means to be a father and that Cade should either step up or step away because Ethan will always love and protect Jess, FOREVER.
CROUCH completed her LT series sending her readers off in a “Blaze” by treating us to the grown-up FOREVER of Jess and Ethan…he the youngest Navy SEAL, much to the mixed pride and dismay of his Special Forces dad Finn.. “seriously” and she of the genius brain who at 14 has been in England at a think tank doing super secret government work.. “Woman, you are going to be the death of me.” And so their escapade begins. Did Jess commit treason? Would they have to take Ethan’s uncle Ian DeRose (Zodiac Tactical Series coming in September) up on his offer to go into hiding permanently? Is there a happily FOREVER after?
A 5 STAR MUST READ. ENJOY.

The Linear Tactical series turned out to be a bit of a wild ride.
Forever is the fourteenth book in the Linear Tactical series by Janie Crouch.
This series is definitely worth reading, especially if you love romantic suspense with a side of action-packed drama.
Each book focuses on a different member of the Linear Tactical team—think ex-military, super-skilled, and totally swoon-worthy heroes—paired with strong, relatable heroines who hold their own.
The stories are fast-paced, with just the right balance of heart-pounding danger and heart-melting romance. Mixed with some sizzling chemistry between the MCs injects a hot and steamy element to the overall storyline.
The small-town vibes mixed with high-stakes missions make it feel grounded yet thrilling. Plus, the way Ms. Crouch weaves in themes of loyalty, redemption, and second chances? Chef’s kiss
The Series Contains:
-Cyclone (Book #1)
-Eagle (Book #2)
-Shamrock (Book #3)
-Angel (Book #4)
-Ghost (Book #5)
-Shadow (Book #6)
-Echo (Book #7)
-Phoenix (Book #8)
-Baby (Book #9)
-Storm (Book #10)
-Redwood (Book #11)
-Scout (Book #12)
-Blaze (Book #13)
-Forever (Book #14)
-Code Name: Outlaw (Book #15)
Another binge-worthy series!
Happy Reading…

Oh my god Janie that was amazing!!!!

If you’ve followed the Linear Tactical series you’ll know that Ethan and Jess have been the dynamic duo, double trouble, grousome twosome, whatever you want to call them for most as long as the series has been going. Now it’s time for their own story.

After a misunderstanding causing a drift between the two Ethan is called in after Jess is kidnapped with four colleagues abroad. Jess is pointed to have stolen research that looks to have been sold to terrorists. Ethan, having been with Jess his whole life, knows this isn’t the case and he has to save her and clear her name.

I honestly can’t tell you how much I loved this. Having read the full series and remembering them as kids this story actually felt so much more if that makes sense. Ethan had taken after his dad in the protective stakes and has been taught how to be a gentleman. Jess is the definition of strong and feisty but with a heart and an independent streak that can get her in trouble sometimes. I can’t put in words how great this was. Sad that the series is finished though but couldn’t have ended it on a better couple.

This is the last book in the Linear Tactical series and this book focuses on young Jess, the whiz kid and Ethan her beau for many years. This has them grown up and into their careers. Ethan just getting out of the special forces and Jess at the top of her field. However when Jess gets kidnapped, Ethan gets called in to help get her back.
This book is fantastic and so typical of the Janie Crouch books. Her writing is spot on, taking us into the drama and involving us in the action, never stopping to let us catch our breath. Likening her books to a roller coaster is not really doing them justice.
The chemistry between Jess and Ethan is sweet, homely and just downright brotherly mostly as he had tried to keep his hands off as being several years older, but the force can not be reckoned with, once she pushed that she wants him.
So drama, action, life, death, mystery suspense, some steam and amazingly romantic, this book is the most fitting end to the Linear Tactical series of books and a welcome introduction to the new series, Zodiac Tactical showcasing Ian and his team. Absolutely brilliant book and series of books!
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.

A definite must read book & series

I love that we got to see Ethan and Jess from their early years to fully grown! Their lives took turns that were surprising, sometimes taking them away from one another (which no one thought would be possible), but in the end they got what they'd told everyone since they were little: together, forever. This story was sweet, full of drama, angst, mystery, suspense, and intriguing twists and turns. It's truly the perfect ending for this series.
If you haven't already read the rest of this series, I would highly recommend that you start from the beginning prior to reading this book. It's a fantastic series, and you won't be disappointed. If you want more of these characters (cause we all know that they'll be involved, especially in the first book), want to meet more heroes, then make sure that you check out the new upcoming series Zodiac Tactical. The first release, Code Name: Aries, is about Ian and Wavy, and it's sure to be an explosive story.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and fantastic author.

Janie Crouch astounds me in the fact that she had this book planned when she wrote the first book in her series. The way she weaves the storylines together makes me in awe of her intellect. I personally did a complete re-read of the LT series before starting this book and the way each storyline only made the next book a richer read was extraordinary. This is more than true for Forever. The story of Jess and Ethan is one we've seen throughout the series. There are always those books that will break the couple apart before allowing them to get the HEA. Thankfully, although hinted at, that didn't happen in this book. We got to see their love mature and grow, and yes deal with some doubt, but ultimately know that they were as they always knew, meant to be together forever. This book is probably not for someone who hasn't read the rest of the series, but seriously why wouldn't you want to. These books are the best and now I'm anxiously awaiting Wavy and Ian and the rest of the ZT crew.

Good

Generally I liked this little addendum to the Linear Tactical series. Jess and Ethan have been stealing hearts most of the series. Here we get to see them more mature and still in that devotion to each other. No OM/OW drama. Lots of cute flashbacks to scenes we know and some new ones.
I did have somewhat of a problem with Ethan’s behavior. He made all the decisions in the relationship ‘what’s best for Jess’ without actually communicating with her beforehand. He knew best and that was that. In some cases it kind of made sense, but it was a major reoccurring theme. Then when confronted about why he couldn’t discuss some of these things like a grown adult in a relationship, his response was ‘you weren’t behaving how I wanted so I did what I wanted’. Seriously? And Jess took the blame and guilt.
This was a cute couple but they didn’t exactly age as maturely as I would have liked.
The suspense was good. I found the traitor obvious but some might not. And we got to see a lot (not all) of the offspring of the original crew.

When Jess first met Ethan she proclaimed him "my Ethan" and from then on it was true. He was hers and he took on the role of her protector. We watched them grow up but at 17 and 14 fate was to intervene. Jess was offered the chance of a lifetime but Ethan knew she wouldn't take it unless he left so he enrolled in the Navy much to his father's chagrin.

Jess always had a knack for getting into trouble and no at 21 it was no different. She and Ethan have grown a distance from each other but when he finds out she needs to be rescued, he will be there for her.

I put off reading this story because I knew it was the end of a series that I enjoyed so much. Ms. Crouch wrote a wonderful send-off to this exciting series. She used flashbacks to catch us up on things we missed while the two were growing up and it was very effective in telling their story. She had me laughing and crying throughout the story. She managed to capture true love even before the main characters truly knew what love was. I am sorry to see the series end but what a beautiful story to end it with.
