First Watch
Oh my, Emery Langford really finds herself in a pickle. I'm not talking about the dangerous men that are after her. Oh no, I mean the men hired to protect her. Oh yeah....
If you are looking for a one-handed read in novel form, this definitely fits the bill. 🔥🔥🔥 Woo-wee does it get hot up in here! There is a story through the mist of steam, but that sizzle really takes the cake.
Andrew Osgood, Benjamin, Akio, and Rhett may not be the best bodyguards, despite their billing (I mean, who let's their charge out on their own without at least covertly guarding her?), do return the favor. The fact that they are also gossips keeps things fun.
I want to note that this is most definitely fiction and a lot of liberties were taken with police procedures, the criminal justice system, banking, and the realities of a criminal's life. I put some effort into overlooking these... unrealistic actions.

I just can't
I'm not asking for the next award winning novella, but there has to be something realistic to base a story on. There's 4 bodyguards and not a 1 thinks to research neither the family of the daughter they're protecting nor the threats to them? I didn't even make it 20%. It was that bad. These dolts leave their charge alone the 1st night. In an unsecured apartment building. Not even a locked lobby door or doorman mentioned. Huh?? Like bad guys would never move the 1st night to grab her to use her to make her dad clam up. Right? Then, she acts like a brat and says she doesn't need help. When a known drug lord is just possibly a smidge upset with her dad and worried he might talk. Knows his only weakness is his adult, but incapable or taking care of herself at 23yo, daughter. She doesn't even check peepholes before flinging doors open! Not even a wooden spoon to defend herself. She's more worried about discovering who she is. But if she doesn't defend herself she'll never get the chance. And she turns away 4 prepaid bodyguards, not even calling the jail to see if her dad really hired them and they aren't plants sent by the drug lord. Geez. Or confirm with her dad's lawyer, something that says she isn't a complete noob and has 2 brain cells clicking together. Nope. When the guys are arguing in the apartment lobby, like it isn't an open space where anyone can hear anything, is when I tossed in the towel. Just a nope. Whole thing a nope. I don't need an episode of law and order but 4 hot bodyguards, I just need a FMC that isn't TSTL and the guys to actually understand that in order to protect their ward they have to actually be present and/or have electronics covering her and the space she's supposed to be safe in. Leaving her alone in an apartment building, with multiple unsecured entrances, plus stairwells and outer access fire stairs, with a drug lord bent on keeping her dad from talking, and an unknown number of his goons lurking about, well, it all equals (as Ryan Reynolds would say in Hitman's Bodyguard) that's how you lose your triple A rating.

Thank you to Nicole Casey for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the story, and I liked the suspense and the stakes that were in the story. I enjoyed this book more than Sleeping with Beauty and I wish I liked both this and Sleeping with Beauty more than I did. But I wish that each of the men that the fmc ends up with get more development. This book did it better than Sleeping with Beauty in my opinion. However, the romance fell a bit short for me. I still really enjoyed my time though. I do recommend this for anyone who wants a good story with a RH subplot.

Story: Emery (h) finds herself on her own experiencing unexpected freedom when her overprotective father’s illegal dealings land him in jail. Her time alone is cut short when her father’s hires a team of bodyguards, Andrew (H), Benjamin (H), Rhett (H), and Akio (H), to protect her from some of his dangerous associates. Emery initially resents this new intrusion in her life until she starts to get to know her protectors, though she can’t resist trying their patience and winds up in danger, Emery realizes how much she really needs the four men in her life. High heat RH with an HEA. The fun keeps going in the Love by Numbers 2 series as the books start counting up.
Audio: The narrators did a really great job with this story. The audiobook uses a male narrator and a female narrator – I always appreciate when an author goes for the additional costs of having two narrators so that listeners can hear male dialogue with a male voice and female dialogue with a female voice. Stephen Borne does a great job with the tone he brings to the male voices, and Heather Firth gave Emery a voice that seemed to embody her, as well as other female voices. The only thing I struggle with in RH audiobooks is trying to keep track of which male partner's POV is being presented - I wish that each segment would be listed with the "Chapter #" and the character's name to help me keep track of who's being voiced.

These keep getting worse…
So, bodyguards turned lovers…eh. Overprotected rich girl whose daddy does wrong…been there, done that. I had hope, though. The character building was good. The heroine had just the right bit of spunk. The bodyguards seemed like nice guys…

A girl nearly gets kidnapped while drunk and gets slammed against a wall so hard she passes out. First priority when she wakes up? Loose that pesky virginity. He talks a caring game, but in the end he takes her virginity in the driver’s seat of a car 2 minutes after she wakes up from a concussion.
Two people you claim to care about are in a car accident so serious that the driver is unconscious for hours before his buddies find him. Do we take them to the hospital once everyone’s safe? Naw, we go home for our first orgy.
Heroine is rescued from kidnapping. The kidnapper remains at large. Eh, he probably moved on. Go about walking around on your own; you certainly don’t need bodyguards anymore!
The first book in this series was SOOO good, but they’ve gotten progressively worse from there. The author fights too hard to get to the spicy parts and then end the story. This book could have been decent if there was just…..more. I’m not bothering with the next one.

Four Bodyguards' Charge is book three in the Love of Numbers series. A full-length steamy standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and guaranteed happily-ever-after. It's brilliantly written with engaging characters great storyline that keeps you engrossed and turning the pages until the end. A hot, instense, and action packed romance with three sexy bodyguards and one sheltered client. Harold Langford is a wealthy tech tycoon. He has a twenty-three year old daughter Emery Langford who he keeps on a short leash and very sheltered from his business and the outside world. Harold got in bed with the mob a drug king pin Armond Deviau.
One day Emery was alone at home when a group of investigators came to her tearing her dad's home office apart. She watched helplessly in the doorway and yell at them as they looked for evidence. By this time he was already arrested for money laundering and was sitting in jail. The investigators were kicking her out of her home until they completed their investigation. Her father was overprotective and always hovering to the point where it was insufferable. But now that she was put out of the only home that she of have known she has to find some where to go. But at the same time she feels a sense of relief because her dad is not there to breathe down her neck even though she misses him. As Emery is leaving Zoe a reporter wanted a quote, she told her that there was a connection between her dad and Deviau criminal enterprise. She called one of her father's employee who put her up in a vacant apartment that her dad own.
Harold is scared that his actions has put Emery's life in danger and has procure the service of Andrew Osgood who was a former cop turn security and his friends Benjamin, Rhett, and Akio to protect her. Emery friend Delilah came to visit and the two snuck out and went to a club. After Emery put Delilah in cab an attempt was made on her life and her bodyguards save her life. They later went to a cabin in the woods as a safety precaution until things die down. However, while being out there in wood the dynamics of their relationship changed. Emery made the guys break their own rules, which never get involve with a client. The virgin heroine was able to explore her sexuality with hunky bodyguards, suddenly she doesn't want to run anymore. The story contains lies, deceptions, violence, secrets, corruption, revelations, angst, anger, money laundering, attempted kidnapping, threat, fear, reverse harem romance, passion, lust, enemies, suspense, mystery, pleasure, drama, adventure, love, and steam, steam. Will these five get their HEA? Will her bodyguards neutralize the threat so that she can live? Will they tell her how feel and that's it's more than a job?

My review is written after listening to the audio version of this book.
I enjoyed meeting these characters, the dynamics of the four men made for a fun experience. I loved how different each of them was.
Andrew is stoic and serious and the owner of a bodyguarding company. When he gets a call from a desperate father for a four-man protective detail to guard Emery his daughter Andrew knows it calls for his best team. He decides that as well as himself, he will assign Akio who is quick-witted and idealistic, Benjamin a rough-edged bad boy, and Rhett the the light relief as he's funny and goofy as well as being good at his job. They expected a socialite babysitting gig, but what they found was something bigger and life-changing for all involved.
Emery has always been over-protected by her father, but when he's arrested for a scheme involving money laundering for a drug kingpin things change drastically.
She gets her first taste of freedom from her sheltered life but her hopes are dashed when she discovers that her father has hired four men to protect her whenever she leaves her apartment.
Emery may now have wanted a bodyguard, let alone four of them but I bet in the end she was glad they were there. She was certainly taken care of in more ways than just protection. They would protect and fight for her were they just paid bodyguards or were they, men who loved her - you decide!
The narration by Stephen Borne and Auri Alden was well done and added to my enjoyment of this hot and sexy story.

Her father has been arrested for money laundering. Emery is forced to leave the house while the police search it. As she is leaving, a reporter mentions someone named Deviau. Armond Deviau supposedly heads a drug running business.
Andrew Osgood is a former cop and now runs a security firm. His team includes Benjamin who is a couple years younger than him at 29, Akio who is 26 and Rhett who is 24. They all bring different skill sets to the company and work well together. Andrew is hired by Harold to protect Emery.
Emery is in an apartment hiding out. Her father’s lawyer told her that all of Harold’s money has been transferred to her. She is sad that her dad is in prison but happy that she has a bit of freedom. She ends up sneaking out with her friend Delilah to a Club. Right after she puts Delilah in a taxi home, Emery is attacked. Luckily the guys were there to protect her.
What happens when Armond Deviau goes after Emery for the money? What happens when Emery finds herself attracted to all four of her bodyguards? Are they attracted to her and are they willing to share her? Can the guys keep Emery safe while pursuing a relationship with her?.

Audiobook Review
This audiobook was utterly amazing. The narrators had such harmony when they spoke together. Listening to the book felt so easy and flowed so well that I loved listening to every second of it. I am definitely building up a collection of favourite narrators.
The plot for this book was amazing. You definitely go through a lot of emotions while listening. The book follows Emery after her over protective fathers gets sent to jail, she is in a world of trouble after being sheltered all her life by her father so he enlists 4 of the best bodyguards their town has to offer, Andrew, Benjamin, Akio and Rhett, each as hot as the could be. I loved these men all individually in their own ways.
To be honest, this book was a cloud of steam with a plot scattered around, and it was so good. The tension in this book especially in the start when Emery was quite reluctant to let them protect her in any way until trouble arises which shortly leads to letting go of all things conduct and being swept into a whirlwind with 4 men.
From start to finish, this book was amazing to listen to, and all I wanted was longer. I loved that Emery was not some spoilt rich kid and actually wanted to help people, which you see across the book. It certainly made me love her character more for it. The author always does amazing with her books, and I can't wait to listen to more of them!

I enjoyed that this one was a little darker than the other books in the Love by Numbers series that I've read. This was a nice change of pace from the others and I really liked that.
However, it seemed like Emery's relationship with her men seemed to develop mostly off screen. I didn't feel like she had any major bonding moments with any of them outside of sex, but they suddenly fell for her and knew her deeply and swore that she was the one. I wanted to see more of their relationship and how it developed over time.
I also had a bit of a hard time figuring out the timeline for the story. There was a lot going on, but then it turns out only a day had passed? It wasn't clear to me how much time was passing while certain events were happening, and it confused me trying to understand where everything was at.
I liked the characters, even though they're all a bit of a mystery to me. I didn't get to know them beyond a surface level, and the backstories of the guys are all a big, blank space. I know next to nothing about who they are, what brought them together, where they came from. I don't even know their last names, other than Andrew's.
I enjoyed that this one was a little darker than the other books in the Love by Numbers series that I've read. This was a nice change of pace from the others and I really liked that.

Errrr
So every book this author has been adding another bloke to the mix, we're now upto 4 guys and 1 girl, having started with 2 guys in book 1 of the series....
The writing style isn't terrible, but there are a few errors which makes me think it may have been self-published, or at the least not have had a professional proofreading?!
The 3 stars are mostly for the characters. The plot is rather unfinished... as if the main baddie would just disappear without there being a huge climax (if you'll pardon the pun, because there's plenty of those!!!)
Now whilst I'm not averse to the steamy stuff, I do wonder why in this author's world none of her leading ladies.... or heroes... have even heard of contraception?!? For Christ sake if you're going to portray the girls as total slapper, at least give them brains to use a condom.... if only before we're meant to believe they're all loved up.
So all in all... Bit of an airport read... May get you hot, but certainly a few ridiculous bits.
I'm only continuing to read this series to see just how many guys the author will see as a limit!!! 🤣🤣🤣You have to wonder if the author has an overactive imagination, or lives in a house full of hunky sex-starved men 🤔

More Than She Ever Expected -
This book was definitely unexpected, as I thought it would be a run of the mill reverse harem story, but boy was I wrong. Emery found her life turned upside down after her dad was arrested, but what she thought made it worse was when she found her life was restricted. However, her new meant she would be living with four gorgeous hunks named Andrew, Benjamin, Akio and Rhett.
Her initial combative interactions turned into blissful nights of intimate moments, which was nearly derailed when Emery‘s life was in danger. However, the connection they had built together and their previous training allowed them to find her and get them back on track to getting their happily ever after. I love how head strong and feisty Emery was and how she found something different from each of the guys.
This was an incredibly wonderful book to read and I found myself glued to the pages with all the drama, action-packed moments and steamy encounters. This is a definite must read book.

I love polyamory books! This book definitely does it for me! It has excitement of Criminal activity and hunky bodyguards for safety.
Poor Emery watched her whole life fall apart because of her Dad. He was arrested for money laundering. The one thing he did right get her 4 bodyguards. (Little did he know that they were all as hot as sin) They are with her day in/day out. Until something happens when she escapes them for a night. They take her far. Andrew is her driver. They end up making love in his car and she loses her virginity. Slowly they all take turns with her. This book is filled to the hilt with erotica.
The one thing that I wanted to see is Andrew expressed wanting a child as did some of the others including Embry. I would have loved to have seen twins or triplets. That would have been so sweet.
This book is totally worth it if you love polyamory. Even if you don't, the erotica is through the roof.
I highly recommend READING all of this book.

I loved Four Bodyguards' Duty Book 3 of Love by Numbers 2. Emery is lost after her dad is arrested. The only thing she knows is she finally has some freedom. That is until 4 handsome bodyguards show up at her door saying her father sent them. She’s resistant to them until she sneaks out and is almost taken. Now she’s giving into their ideas on protecting her and more. Is it possible to have feelings for four people at one time? Are they willing to share? What happens when the danger finally gets Emery? Will they be able to save the woman they love in time? Such a great story and I loved the characters. It had a little bit of suspense mixed in with the hot and steamy parts. I would definitely recommend this book.

The spark was there from the beginning. They all only grow closer the more time they spend together. Emery's dad was correct, someone comes to take their revenge out on Emery. Is this just a job for the 4 bodyguards or does Emery dare dream for more? Plenty od spice in the story.

Time is running out and the bodyguards have to find Deviau before he can get to Emery to keep her father from talking. Will they find him in time and will the relationship they are building together lead them all to happiness. This story had me glued to the pages and cheering for Emery and her bodyguards.

The next day she answers the door to 4 men who claim to be her bodyguards. She tells them she doesn't need their services but they are not leaving her. Good thing since she finds herself attacked and they are there to protect her. After that they take her away to a safe house where bonds are formed, singularly and with all the team. Even when the danger finds its way to them, they survive. Now they have to figure out how to make it all work when they get back to civilization.

This new series by Nicole Casey is amazing. I couldn't put it down. I loved every second. I couldn't wait to see what happened next between Emery and her bodyguards, Andrew, Benjamin, Rhett, and Akio. Emery's life is falling apart. Her father has been arrested and she needs to figure out what to do next. She does not expect for bodyguards that her father arranged. At first, she doesn't want them around but she soon realizes that there is more to them. She is drawn to them. Will they be able to keep her safe and find happiness together?

As the title suggests this story is about 4 bodyguards who are hired to protect the daughter of a wealthy mobster, when his enemies go after her. Emery is desperate to use her fathers ill gotten wealth to do good and hates that his life is encroaching on hers. The though of having her life limited by bodyguards has her annoyed, but when an attempt on her life has them going into hiding a new problem arises. This reverse harem is really well written. The plot flows smoothly and is a pleasure to read. The dynamics between the four is balanced perfectly. I loved reading how they achieved their HEA!!!.

Emery finds herself in a....sticky situation. Her dad goes to jail and he hires 4 hot bodyguards to keep an eye on her. They really do keep their eyes on her...and their hands! The head bodyguard set a no messing with the client rule but he is the first to break that rule and takes Emery's virginity! In a car, which I did not love but oh well! She is running from a criminal who is after her due to her dad's shady dealings and her bodyguards spice things up, whisk her away, protect her, save her life, and let her live her best life in hot sexy romance. Nicole is consistant with her writing and spice. I do enjoy trying to figure out who is going to be involved in the next book!

Great read with loads of steam!!!
I really liked this story! I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. The men all sounded pretty hot and you could tell the differences between their personalities. Emery was a good character, a little immature at times, although she was always over protected by her father. I loved the way the guys handled her. The love scenes are hot and definitely NSFW. Overall this was an enjoyable read, and great add to her next love by numbers series!!!.
