I don’t think anyone understands what it means to be part of a society. A society that can have its perks but for the most part that makes you into another person. The initiation is from birth and there is only one way out of it. Death. Nothing will ever kill me before I kill it. I am a force to be reckoned with. My namesake is the Greek god of War. He’s full of rage, terror, and violence. I am the same way too. No one and nothing can change what I am. Brutal, unrestrainedly impulsive… Until I met her. My wildflower. I could almost smell the jasmine behind every soft word she threw my way, the sweetness in the midst of all my chaos… Beyond my caged heart.
TRIGGER THIS STORY CONTAINS MENTIONS OF SUICIDE, RAPE, VIOLENCE, AND ABUSE. PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS IF IT CAN TRIGGER YOU. ALSO, THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION.
King Ellie discovered her love for dark romance through reading and as she read more and more of them, she discovered that this was the genre she wanted to write in. The antiheroes and what others would classify as villains, she sees them as an opportunity to show what a hurt, heartbroken male who is seen as anything but can love harder. The heroines get a chance to be loved deeply and only by the antiheroes. Love isn't always just black and white... it's a spectrum of color.
This was a heavy book. You’ll want to be mindful of the trigger warnings. I can’t really get into the plot without giving stuff away. But this started with an interesting premise, but by the end I wasn’t really feeling the direction. Also there’s a lot of times where we just from one scene to next without resolution of the previous scene. You may think differently, check it out.
This was a great storyline and I enjoyed the characters in this book. This was some sick sh*it, the things they had to endure. I can't wait to find out what happens next. I hope it's not a long wait because it's too many unanswered questions.
I'm a fan of all types of books, dark romance included. This was a really good book and I really do believe that there are people in the world and societies/cults just like this one that does sick and twisted things to people, even their own kids. Ares and Mars are twins who were put through torturous childhood. Ares thought Mars never tried to protect him but in reality he did when he could. Carmen to had a lot that she had to deal with. Her mother was just as unfit as it came. Her mother's boyfriend was a creepy perv who has again came back to mess with Carmen's head. I'm looking forward to see how the friend navigate through this cruel and twisted world.💚💚
Please get better proof readers, editors, publishers or just a good friend. There were way too many typos, mistakes and misspelled words for someone that has written as many books as King Ellie. Spoiler alert: What is up with KE’s obsession with boys being assaulted? It’s a bit concerning.
This book was interesting, it touched on subjects that are not polite and at times hard to read. Definitely not a book for those with certain triggers. Trauma comes in many forms its how you decide to handle and to try and over come them. The author delves into subjects that most do not wish to discuss however, cannot ignore.
This book is emotionally heartbreaking, I can’t comprehend how anybody can mistreated a child let along your very own. A parent supposed to nurture their child, I know this book is friction, however this sick, unthinkable act exists… 😡😢
What Ares and Mars been through and for them to still functioning showed their strength, I cried for them & hoping to see them rise above their circumstances and become powerful in the next book with Carmen by their sides including Monica and the rest. Can’t wait to see all these sick “F*@k* stripping from their power and rewarded with the same thing they did to those children.
Carmi you are simply beautiful! & u 2 Moni, ‘ can’t wait for your story.
King Eli has the new again, Ares and Mars are perfect renditions of their names. The passion and paying that they had to endure it’s heartbreaking. Carmen and Monica, where the perfect leading ladies and I can’t wait to see how things going in a follow up.
This book was so good. It brought awareness to how as parents you can ruin a child even into adulthood. Im also glad this book brought back the old Ellie .. i love all of her book. But something about the old her. Im ready for the next book by this author

Wow🤯 This was something and I mean it in good way. I’ve always been a fan of King Ellie and all her pen names. She didn’t disappoint. I wasn’t expecting it to go there but then again. You have to read it for yourself. I can’t wait for the next book.
Ok this book was so twisted and sick can't believe it . Definitely a good book but definitely will be looking for the next book and who does she pick ?
