I’m the rowdiest of the bunch and I’m after the preacher’s daughter. The family farm needs my help—hell, all of our help. But no one looks my way. I’m the town bad boy, whatever that means. It’s all good until an idea comes up. Help the preacher and his smoking hot daughter with weddings to earn an extra buck. I’m down, but her old man is completely against our tainted love affair. Nothing like trying to steal first with a good girl. Our chemistry is off the charts, and she has me thinking about things that might mean my soul is in danger of the fires. But I’m all in. Unfortunately, I’ve got to prove myself to her, her father, and the whole town it would seem. This small-town girl is in for a surprise. I might be the wild one, but I’ll win her over. Whatever it takes.
Jessica Mills loves the HEA found in a Hallmark movie, must have coffee first thing in the morning, and a homebody that loves living in the country. She’s definitely family-oriented and an animal lover at heart except for snakes….nope! She recently relocated back to East Tennessee with her husband and daughter to be closer to family, she has a son that lives in Florida, and three furbabies that complete her everyday life. She’s always wanted to be a writer and put the stories from her head to paper. She never thought that would come to fruition until she met Ali Parker.
An unrequited crush and, what looks on the surface like opposites attract. Both Cash and Rebekah would do anything for their families. Anything for most of their community, too. But, they’ve fallen so far into the “bad boy” and “good girl” roles that most people don’t see the real people anymore. When a new business venture to use Cash’s hand-raised white pigeons as doves for weddings and events brings the two into constant contact, will their community see either one as more than the rumors have painted them? And will Cash and Rebekah be able to resist the pull of attraction that’s always been between them? I really loved this story. It’s filled with family – both the love and drama – and all about how we’ll never meet other people’s expectations so we should just be our best selves. Now, I can’t wait to see what the author has cooked up for the rest of the Whitlock siblings. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Welcome to the Whitlock ranch in Cheyenne where eight...yes eight...siblings reside with their parents on their two hundred acre plot of land. You can bet with five boys and two girls there isn't a boring day to be had. This story belongs to the rowdiest and most likely to end up in jail, Cash Whitlock. Cash doesn't fight at the drop of a hat, he does however fight to protect his loved ones.
With times being as hard as they are, everyone is stepping up to help save the family ranch and Cash is finally pushed to use his precious pigeons. The only drawback is having to approach Preacher McCoy with a proposal to release his white pigeons at weddings. Enter the preachers only daughter, Rebekah, that Cash has crushed on for years and seen as unattainable. Rebekah loves her life and her flower shop but being the preachers daughter has its drawbacks. She goes to church, spends time with her dad and best friend and doesn't step over any lines but something is missing. Convincing her dad to help Cash with his pigeons opens up all kinds of possibilities... including an old crush. With time spent together Cash and Rebekah get to really knows each other and Rebekah likes the real Cash. Keeping secrets from her dad is a must but when the old Cash comes out all is gone...or is it?? Will Cash ever be worthy of the preachers daughter?? What will Rebekah do when she learns the real reason Cash was in a fight?? What will the preacher do when he learns of his daughter's relationship?? So many questions and the way to find answers is to read this MUST READ story!!! Great real to life characters with real problems. His/her POV, no cheating, no cliffhanger and a real to life HEA!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and added it to my favorites collection. Looking forward to the next Whitlock story!!!
4.5 “The Preacher’s Daughter” is the first book in the ‘Rebel Ranchers’ series by Jessica Mills. It’s a small-town, friends-to-lovers story about the local bad boy and the good girl who end up exploring a new path in life together.
Cash is part of a big family – five brothers, three sisters, and their parents. It’s a tough economy in which to be a rancher and money is tight. He’s the bad boy of the family, and although he’s got a good heart, most of the people in town just see the bad side of him. But he’s got a thing about training pigeons and is really trying to make it into a business. Rebekah is the local preacher’s very beautiful daughter. She owns the floral shop in town and is about as off-limits as she could possibly be. Neither is aware that the other has had a long-standing interest in them, but that’s all about to come to light when Cash is hired to release white pigeons at a wedding Rebekah is doing the flowers for, and which is being officiated by her father.
This is an entertaining story with likable, interesting characters. Cash and Rebekah each grow as individuals, bringing out the best in one another. The relationship between them is sweet, then steamy, and sincere. There are plenty of great secondary characters, including his large family, her father, and an array of quirky townspeople. This was an easy, fun read and I’m looking forward to more closely getting to know the rest of Cash’s family as the series progresses.

Cash Whitlock is a 33-year old troublemaker, especially as it concerns drinking and fighting. His parents and siblings own 200 acres of ranchland and work almost continuously to keep it up while only barely making ends meet. That’s why they are all trying to find extra income sources.
Preacher’s daughter Rebekah McCoy, age 27, is a virgin who owns a flower shop. At one point she had a crush on Cash, but she left him behind because he is oil, and she is water. Add to that, her father would never let her have thoughts of him, and Cash knows Rebekah is off limits.
But what happens when Cash, with help from his brother Flint, congers up a way for the Whitlocks and the McCoys, instead of feuding, to help each other? Add white pigeons to the mix, and a rancher, a preacher, and a flower shop owner set out on a rollicking journey.
Jessica Mills has a way of inviting readers into the warm light of small-town Wyoming living, with all its quirks and juicy gossip. While Cash and Rebekah may have been opposites, they claw their way to HEA in stunning form, surrounded in love by their family, including her father. And yes, there will be white pigeons in their future. Don’t miss each delicious scene in this sweet, sweet love story with just the right amount of spice!
I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily leave my honest opinion.
This book is the one to read if you want to laugh, scream, cry, jump for joy and be devastated. Not in that order. Cass is the town’s mess-up. He’s always getting thrown in the drunk tank from the local bar he attends. For fighting. It’s not like Cass goes looking for trouble. But. Trouble always finds him Enter Rebekah, the town preacher’s daughter. She owns and runs the local floral shop. When Cass approaches her father to market his release of doves/pigeons her solution. To go into a joint venture. But because the preacher is aware of who Cass is he’s skeptical. And voices his concern. Vowing to NIT be associated with Cass but allowing him to approach his engaged couples that are paying for preacher. Will the town rebel and Rebekah’s working relationship flow into a romantic one? Will the preachers daughter be able to keep her crush a secret? Are they doomed from the start? Read this emotional novel to find out.
You''ll love Rebekah and Cash's story. She was a 27 year old virgin who owned her own flower shop and was the daughter of a local preacher. Cash had a reputation about town as a bad boy who was always starting fights. Needless to say Rebekah's father was not a fan of Cash's. Things get interesting when the three of them join together in the wedding business. Rebekah's father as the preacher, she as the florist and Cash with the white pigeons. The pull and chemistry between Rebekah and Cash is magnetic and her father's disapproval is even stronger. You know what they say a good woman can change a man. This was a cute story with likable characters an an engaging story line. A happy ending that you will enjoy. I read an advance copy via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
A brilliant start to a new series from Jessica Mills. Cash is known as the bad boy in town and always does what he wants but he will do anything for the people he loves. So with the family ranch not doing well he knows that he needs to earn some extra money. He has been training his white pigeons and plans on using them at weddings as doves. Rebekah is the preachers daughter and has always been a good girl but has never got over her crush on Cash. When an opportunity to work together falls into their hands she will do anything to help him. They get closer as they work together but her father isn't happy. I loved how they were together and how she brought out his good caring side but can they get their HEA when everyone is against them. Loved the ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Trouble always seems to find Cash Whitlock and he doesn't run aways from it either. The Whitlock Ranch is having some financial problems and need all eight kids to help out with thefinances someway besides working on the ranch. Cash has been training and breeding homing pigeons to be used as doves for weddings, funerals, etc. His siblings help him make a website and set up a meeting with the preacher and his daughter, Rebekah (flowershop owner), to propose going into business together. The preacher has no use for Cash as a human but sees business potential after Rebekah stands up for Cash. I ❤️ loved reading this book and especially reading first in a series when you get introduced to everyone. This is a bad boy meets good girl sexy romance.
This is book one of Jessica’s new series and told in dual first person POV. I loved this story and how there was family love, loyalty, banter, drama and steamy chemistry. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down.
I loved Rebekah and Cash. I enjoyed how Rebekah encouraged Cash and stood to the ones who doubted his ability. I loved that Cash was so sweet and caring but wouldn’t take any crap when it came to those he loved. I loved all the side characters, they really helped to bring this story together.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book. These words are my own thoughts and opinions.
5 Stars I received a free copy of the steamy novel The Preacher’s Daughter: A Rebel Ranchers Novel Book one by Jessica Mills and this review was given freely. I love the family dynamics. The touches of steam enhance this drama-packed first book in the new Rebel Ranchers family saga. The diverse characters, the strong family bonds, and a long-standing crush realized are just a few of the things I loved about this well written opposites attracting story which features the preacher’s daughter and florist, Rebekah McCoy, and the misunderstood, family-protective, pigeon breeder Cash Whitlock.
Missing and incorrect words. Needs some better editing to clean it up. Small ranch town romance. The h was 27 and the H was 33. The H, Cash was silly with no plans and made poor decisions. I thought he was very immature. The ranch family of like eight siblings and parents barely making it was not fun to read about. Not sure why some of them didn't find other work to help. The h was a preacher's daughter. Not sure how she was doing so well in a small town. Some heat. I guess not caring for the H made it difficult to like the story. He's like the normal main male character's screw up friend, not the normal main H.
He's the bad boy and talk of the town. She's the preacher's daughter and all around good girl. Two opposites but perfect for each other. The author brings a cast of strong secondary characters and weaves an entertaining story filled with drama, anxiety, fear and anger. Add in the smokin hot chemistry and growing love and she delivers a great read. She moves the story fluidly with perfectly painted scenes and some great banter throughout. Loved and recommend this book.

A new story that I found unexpectedly lovely. There’s good and bad, some parts difficult to read, but overall lovely I wasn’t sure if this would be a story I’d like, but I couldn’t put it down. I loved it. This story follows Cash and Rebekah. This couple is one you want to root for and read til you see them happy. They are strong volunteers whenever anyone is in need and the Whitlock family is having a tough time. The whole community pitches in to help. This couple has chemistry and then some. I loved the ending, such a good read I kmow I’ll read again.
Fantastic read! Starting the next book, that's how good!
Cash and Rebekah have been eyeing each other most of their lives. She's the preacher's daughter that owns her own flower shop. He's a rancher bad boy with 7 siblings! A match made in heaven, who knew? They go into business together, her father the preacher, her with flowers, and Cash with his trained white homing pigeons. Together they can help each other's business grow by sharing weddings! Thanks Jessica, 5 stars from me!
Cash and Rebekah are a great couple after they find their way to be together. He and his siblings are asked to help with the ranch and he’s the playboy of the family. But he’s got a business plan about using pigeons instead of doves for weddings. Rebekah is a preachers daughter and she believes in this plan. Each has had a thing for each other but never acted on it. Is this that chance? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Great start to a new series. A large family of ranchers where one son is the bad boy and he finally gets a chance at romance. Of course it’s the preacher’s daughter and they have a lot to over come. I enjoyed the dual first person point of view. I love the inclusion of his large family and her preacher dad. The gossip of a very small town also comes into play. Ic any wait to read more! *I was given a copy and am voluntarily giving my honest review.
A wonderful, delightful, entertaining, steamy with a bit of family drama and romance.;This is Cash and Rebecca's romance story that you will love and enjoy..A preacher daughter who is a goody two shoes and her highschool crush and the bad boy of their town Cash but with a heart of gold and he will do everything to help his family and protect them...I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Cash and Rebekah danced around eachother for years. She thought he wasn’t interested and that it was just a crush. Little did she know he was pinning for her just the same. This bad boy just needed a strong willed woman to tame him. Pastor McCoy was extremely judgmental and set in his ways but he finally took a step back and listened to his daughter. This book was well written and I’m excited to see what’s in store for the rest of the Whitlock crew.
A sweet romance. The bad boy in town is in love with the preachers daughter. Needless to say, the preacher doesn’t want him to influence his sparkling, clean daughter. They had crushes on each other for years and finally decide to do something about it. When Rebekah sees Cash’s real side she knows he is the one she has been waiting for. A great book. It takes the right woman to change the man. Wonderful.
This was a real sweet small-town romance, where the unhinged bad boy falls for the sweet preacher's daughter. One thing I will say is that I wished this author went more in-depth with these characters and their backstories. I would have loved to learn more about their pasts, but other than that I really enjoyed this fast-paced and sweet story centered around family bonds and classic old-school romance where good meets bad. I recommend this story to anyone who needs a nice sweet romance.
Cash has a bad rep. He has landed in jail too often, and never met an insult he can't greet with his fists. Rebekah is the preacher's daughter, hard working, sweet natured and a virgin. Any attraction is dismissed as the bad boy vibe. But it isn't. A lovely story. The arc was different than I expected, and while at first, I struggled to get involved, by half way through, I was enchanted.
Cash is the town bad boy and Rebekah is the town goody two shoes. She is also the daughter of a preacher. Cash will do anything to help his family and comes up with an idea. He works with the preacher to help with weddings and dove release. Rebekah and Cash work close together and slowly build a romance. Will the drama with family keep them apart?
Cash and Rebekah had liked each other from afar for years each thinking their liking was onesided. Their story was good although I that the character's history was a little lacking and underdeveloped. I felt that I wanted to know more about that before they came together. That said overall it was good and had a nice HEA.
A sexy, entertaining read with wonderful characters. Cash and Rebekah were sweet together with a sizzling chemistry. I loved the Whitlock family. Looking forward to reading more about them. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.
Received this as an ARC. The story line is pretty good. It felt a little lacking as these characters grew up in a small town and their history was a little vague. I felt like their could have been more before they were thrown together. Overall a good HEA with lots of characters to build on
Oh I just loved Cash and Rebekah story! Who doesn’t live a story with a cowboy who is a little wild and the one girl in town who is the preacher daughter. She shows him that he. Can be a good man!! I would recommend this book to everyone!!
This is a first book in a new series . I found it was well written and had plenty going on that had my glued to the pages to see how the relationship between Cash and Rebecca was going to work out. Looking forward to more book in this series.
I enjoyed Cash’s and Rebecca’s romantic love story. It’s a sweet story centered around a family situation. It’s fast paced and engaging. I loved the HEA ending. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*
THE PREACHER'S DAUGHTER A Rebel Rancher's Novel by Jessica Mills This is a entertaining, well written, light hearted romance between the town bad boy Cash and the preacher's daughter Rebekah. Even as a hot head, Cash is very likable. He is extremely close with his family. She is a florist and the local preacher's "daddy's" girl. I did enjoy this 5 star read.
