This book goes back and forth between politics and fighting, and not always in a coherent fashion.

It is not hard to figure out who the President is, and how he leads this country into a conflict.

Having worked with various NATO allies during my career, there is a great deal of mutual respect and understanding in our respective military services. The idea that we will withdraw from NATO and then wind up fighting them is ludicrous. There is a point where a soldier will refuse to follow an illegal order, and that is true for the soldiers I have met in the NATO countries. The NATO charter goes into detail about defending all of the members from an attack. It does not mention interfering with internal politics in a member country.

The Chinese military, like the Russians, is a paper tiger. Across the board, we have better equipment, better training, and best of all, better people. While it might be true that our flag officers will fight the next war just like they fought the last one, it is also true that our men and women on the pointy end of the spear are smarter, tougher, and better trained than their counterparts in the Chinese military. US Navy submarines will put the Chinese Navy on the bottom of the ocean with Mark 48 torpedoes. US Air Force, Navy, and Marine fighter pilots will loose off Slammers and put Chinese aviators in the dirt. US Army tankers and mechanized infantry have come to understand that the combination of the M-1, TOW, and Javelin will transform ground combat. Having your head handed to you at Fort Irwin make company and battalion commanders better tacticians.

Given what we have seen lately from computer hackers making a mess of our systems, election interference is a plausible concept. The rest of this book is not even remotely plausible.

Reading this book was a waste of time and money.

This was an interesting story. The basic concept of a second US Civil War, egged on by a global conspiracy, a la the Bilderbergs, was the hook that drew me in (I'm a sucker for alternate histories, conspiracy tales, and military action). The writing exhibited a depth of knowledge regarding the technical aspects of military operations, elections, and international trade that impressed me. There were plenty of plot twists, as befitting a story this complex. But more than that, Mr. Rosone's ability to imbue the many characters in his tale with depth and emotion brought them to life, so much so that I couldn't wait to see what befell my favorites next. The only reason I didn't give it more stars had nothing to do with the story or the author. I thought it was very good. My complaint is with the editing. There were numerous instances of bad editing. They detracted from the readability of this book.

I should note that I read the entire series over the course of a couple of weeks. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this type of fiction. Even if political thrillers and military adventures aren't your usual reading, you'll find the story entertaining enough to keep you flipping through pages.

So Real, So Possible, So Terrifying!!!

If you are concerned about what is going on in our country right now, you need to read these 5 books because everything in here can be correlated to what’s happening for real politically. There’s a secret plot afoot to manipulate the voting to unseat the incumbent candidate. Multiple countries invade the USA and are controlling the narrative & suppressing actual events & information. Suddenly we are in a fight for the continuation of our freedom in America & fighting Canada, UN forces, Russia, China, Mexico & many more simultaneously. Our states & major cities are invaded. It is SO real, SO possible, and SO terrifying!! Wake up America. This could actually happen to us!!

A Story About. What Could Happen

As I read this book I kept thinking about what has been going on on in the US for the past 9 years. I could seethat there were possibilities that the things in the story could actually happen if people didn’t start to wise-up.

The story was slow to start as I was trying to figure out what all the action was about. However, as things moved along I found it more and more difficult to put the book down.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will certainly be reading more books by Watson and Rosanne.

Too close for comfort

This is an excellent look at one of the many paths our country made end up going down. While it's not hard to figure out who President Sachs is supposed to represent, it does highlight the severe and stark differences of opinion many people of our country hold towards our government and those in positions of high power. An all-around hair raising scenario told in an easily understood manner.
Highly recommend this book if you are trying to kick the caffeine habit. It will get your blood racing!

A fast paced thriller showing the ugly side of war

I read this 1800 plus page series in few days and I must say never felt like I should skip pages or should drop the book.
The book is a real page turner and fast paced.
Meddling in US election by foreign powers led to a sort of world wars with several countries coming together and attacking the USA.
There are several twists In the five book series which will surprise the reader.

Outstanding Novel!

These books were simply outstanding! Kept me up late reading, as I couldn't put them down. A look at a possible future, and the characters I met were so honestly drawn and compelling. Though the series is quite long, it is so engrossing to read that I was sorry when it ended. The authors are great writers. Thanks.

Even better 2nd time around

I have just finished reading the Falling Empires for the second time, and the emotional roller coaster was just as strong as the first time.

Rosone and Watson never disappoint. They keep you enthralled from the first page to the last in every series they have authored together. I never get tired and always look forward to the next great adventure.

The horrors of war!

This book was hard to put down, especially with the Biden administration in power. The Chinese are our major enemy, but the majority of the politicians in power don't care or are too dumb to realize this. They like the money they get. Too many politicians become millionaires while in office, how does that work!

Exceptional Read

I finally finished this long series. Definitely worth the time spent. The authors have spent considerable time researching and putting together a very believable tale of our possible future. All you have to do is replace some of the characters names with some of our actual politicians and world leaders and you have a possible look into our future.

THOUGHT PROVOKING

If you are a Tom Clancy fan, you will like this. The story is frightenly realistic given current geo- political realities. I was a!ways reluctant to pause my read.

it just goes on and on so it became a struggle to get through it from about three quarters in. The characterization is pretty non existent but the overall plot is ok and not that fanciful imo. However, the writing is about high school level hence only 3 stars.

outstanding!

What an awesome series! I plowed through the series as I couldn’t put it down. A lot of emotions, anger and sadness that as a country we were so easily divided.
Politicians unable to see the bigger picture and work with each other..

Very thorough

A real good tale. With MSM as it these days it's not beyond comprehension as too who's driving the narrative. Very well written.

Decent read

Juggling a lot of different plot threads, most of which are handled pretty well. Not great writing, but decent read.

Excellent read

Very real. As a veteran, it was difficult to read at times. I'd been to too many of the places described.
