I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Damon wants revenge on another Mafia family. He believes they are responsible for his madre's death. He has infiltrated the family and became the right to the mafia boss. He didn't bank on the most beautiful daughter who reminds him of his mother. She is regal and he believes she should be queen.

Part of the Sons of the Mafia hang on and be sure to buckle up this is a wild ride, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!!. Damon sexy as all get out man on mission of revenge for his mother’s death her last breath, she gave him one name but that one name will end with war, and it is starting with him looking for a way in to bring it all down on their heads never taking into account his heart waking up. Luciana with an inner strength born out of being locked in a beautifully prison with her father as the warden she runs the house because her mother is too drunk to do it, taking care her sister, tired from it all and wanting her freedom all at the same time so when one kiss with the hot stranger changes everything. The both feel the intense attraction but Damon doesn’t want to get involved because he has one mission kill whoever took his mom but the more time they are around each other the harder it is for him to step away from it all but the easier it is for him to she is nothing to her family but a pawn to be used and knows she wants freedom but can they work together to achieve one goal or will she show him there is more to life than revenge but where are they headed is the question?.

This brisk prequel serves as a promising introduction to what I anticipate will evolve into an exceptional series.
Damon Papparado embodies a relentless pursuit of vengeance against the Valachi family who he believes respolsible for the murder of his mother. To achieve his goal, he plans to infiltrate their ranks undercover.
He meets Luciana, the daughter of Don Lorenzo Valachi. She's a queen in the making: strong, beautiful, and full of compassion. She's also an innocent… and the only thing standing in my way.
Lulu epitomises the sheltered princess of the very family Damon has vowed to dismantle. Yet, as the adage goes, even the most meticulous plans can unravel unexpectedly... The characters are vividly depicted, each possessing their own endearing qualities.
Although Lulu appears to possess ample inner strength, I detected little chemistry or connection between her and Damon initially. Observing the development of Damon's strategies and the unforeseen bond forming between them, one can hope that their chemistry will evolve into something more intense and passionate.
Part of the Sons of the Mafia, and is best enjoyed when read in order:

This is a novella that started off so good!
We have the almost full backstory of the main characters and how they met etc. I know they will have one of the strongest relationships of all time 🌹
The ending was very good. I hope to read the full story soon!
The writing style is very easy to follow and read also. This is a clean book. Read. ❤️

What a great start
Sins of the Mafia is such a great start to what will obviously be an even greater series. He’s a man bent on revenge. She’s the princess of family he has vowed to take down. What these two will end up being to each other is both inevitable and explosive. Well written, this prequel to a future series leaves you wanting to know their full story. Can’t wait!

Nothing really happened in this novella.
It is just the back story to what I am assuming the actual story in book 1 in Sons of the Mafia series.
It was a lot of nothing. Just 6 years summed up in about 90 pages. At the end Lulu had acted like she had some right to telling Damon he can't keep running off without telling her like he was her man or something. I had thought that was a little odd.
Also, how did Damon find them when the girls got caught up in their brother Angel's crap and was almost taken. It was never mentioned why he was there or how he found them.
What didn't make sense was that as a daughter of the don or any made man ... usually they are sold off as soon as they hit a legal age - sometimes before. This is the first mafia type story I read where is already 25+ and still sits at home doing nothing. Normally if they are not sold off, they are used in some way. But it seems like her and her sister were just sitting around the house, not allowed to live life or do anything really. No allegiances were made with them. It was just weird. I know in the next story Damon takes Lulu in an arranged marriage, but still. In that story she would be over 25 which is kinda old for that to be happening.

3.5 stars--SINS OF THE MAFIA is the prequel novella in the contemporary, adult SONS OF THE MAFIA romance series co-authored by Vi Carter and ER Whyte.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Damon and Lulu) SINS OF THE MAFIA focuses on Damon’s need for revenge. Six years earlier Damon Papparado’s beloved mother was gunned down in a Mafia style hit, a drive by shooting, his mother would blame on the Valachi Crime Family. One year later, Damon finds himself the right-hand man to Don Lorenzo Valachi, a position that places our hero in the direct line to the top but all is not well within the Valachi family including a drunken matriarch, a spoiled sixteen year old princess, a son whose aspirations conflict with his father’s control , and their twenty-one year old daughter who quite possible could control them all. Another five years will pass, Don Lorenzo Valachi will die of presumed natural causes, and a now thirty-one year old Damon Papparado sees a chance to take revenge on the family that destroyed his life.

This story starts in Palermo with Damon attending a family gathering. When gun shots are heard and people scatter. On his mothers dying breath she whispers Valachi.
One year later Damon is being introduced to the Valachi family for whom he will be working.
The Valachi family is full of characters who are well described and each has there roll.
Angel the prodigal son is worthless and more trouble than he should be, a pure disappointment to his father.
Mrs. Valachi is an alcoholic who is abusive towards her daughter, not just verbally, but also physically.
LuLu seems to be the one who runs the household and tries to keep the peace. She has an immediate response to Damon which is unclear in the beginning.
Vivi is the youngest daughter who is quiet, withdrawn and her mothers favorite when it comes to demeaning her verbally.
This book was fast read laying the ground work to a story I’m looking forward to reading. I highly recommend this series if you enjoy mafia romance with suspense and intrigue.

This is the prequel to the new series by VI Carter and E.R Whyte. It is short but manages to portray the world with such fullness and clarity.
Damon and Lulu are both multifaceted and full characters that are born into this life and have no escape.
Damon is driven by his lust to avenge his mother, Lulus family are the cause of his death in his eyes and he will do anything to crush them, except Lulu has a hold on him, her innocence, formidable force, caring nature and strength remind him of his mother, he wants her to be his Queen but can't get to close until his work is done.
This is a captivating and enjoyable read. It is a prequel to a series and does leave you wanting to read more. If you like mafia, forbidden romance then this will appeal to you.

I'm not sure what I wanted from this read exactly, but it was just okay.
I finished the read wanting more, which is the point of a prequel - I know - but more from the characters I guess.
Lulu has plenty of inner strength, and I expected her to do more with it. Damon's quest for retribution was clear from the start, but I'm not sure I actually buy into his reasons for sticking around so long. The chemistry and connection between these two characters is lacking in my opinion, but possibly, when the longer story follows, it will make more sense.
I plan to read the next story from this author, and look forward to it.

This introduction to Damon and Lulu’s story had me wanting to read more of them because this small taste just wasn’t enough. Damon is out for his revenge, and he has planted himself in the enemy’s camp which is Lulu’s family. Lulu is responsible, innocent in a way, the caregiver of the family, all around the one who holds it all together. The tension and chemistry between Damon and Lulu are intense yet forbidden. They fight the attraction and as time and life goes by the attraction is still strong, but everything is about to change. We are left with questions and wondering what will happen next. This teaser gave us a taste of what is to come later this year and I am curious and dying to know more.

I absolutely loved reading this book it was captivating, the storyline was mesmerising and the characters were really amazing. This story was hard to put down it was exciting. Damon is set out for revenge for the death of his mother but before she passed she said a name to him. Luciana’s (Lulu) has been looking after her little sister, she keeps asking her father if she can help him but he won't answer. Damon has to be careful not to fall for Lulu they kissed and he had to pull away he could get lost in her. He has a job to do and he is getting closer to where he needs to be to get closer to the killer.

SINS OF THE MAFIA is a novella/prequel of a story that has Damian seeking to avenge his family’s assassination. His mother’s last words may or may not be the clue to the killers. Damian meets Lulu as he seeks answers about the role of her family in the tragedy.
But he keeps his distance from Lulu because of his strong attraction to her. She is, like all mafia daughters, under her father’s thumb and can do little more than keep her eyes averted, run his household in place of her drunken mother, and care for her younger sister.
It’s a great tease - hot even though nothing technically happens between them. Looking forward to the next book in Damian and Lulu’s story.

This is a prequel to the new Romanov the Mafia series that introduces Damon and Lulu to us and teases us with what's in store. Damon is bent on revenge Lulu is the princess of the family that he's seeking vengeance on he's vowed to take them down. This is a fast-paced action-packed story full of danger, intrigue, suspense, twists and turns and enemies that you don't know who to trust. This was a great way to introduce the four Mafia families who control the underworld in this exciting new series. I would recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see where the story takes us.

OMG, I could not put this book down!
I am drawn into Damon’s world as he sets out for revenge on the death of his mother. I feel for Lulu, the strong female protagonist who tries to be everything for her family and lets her life slip by or that is until Damon enters her father’s world to help him run the business. To say the dynamics between the two is explosive would be tame. Yet, her brother’s actions keep tipping the scale to unsettling the two, and it about blows up when Lulu crosses paths with her brother while out. Add in the plot twist of her controlling father and Damon’s extreme willpower to avoid the magnetism of Lulu and you wonder how the story will all end. I can’t wait til Vengeance in Blood comes outs!

Interesting As I ready to read this very quick book I got really excited it see how it all went and surprisingly I believe this is a prologue. It tells us what started and way two families are very bad enemies which I agree with once you read this book it makes since. Plus you might feel the same way and will want continue the characters story right away I know I personally do! The characters in my opinion are easy to understand I love how strong the oldest child his she is a peacemaker in the family and so much more! This book is a page turner in my opinion leaving you wanting more action packed feels like a cliffhanger with lots of possibilities to come!.

This is the prequel to a new series. Damon is out for revenge on the Valachi family. He will go undercover and find out who killed his mother. He mees Lulu, who is Lorenzo Valachi's daughter, and she is innocent, beautiful and compassionate. But even though he burns for Lulu he must avenge his mother's death. Will he get his vengeance and Lulu? Damon leaves and Lulu has decided that she's not going to be left out and put in a cage again. Damon has given her hope. I think this novella was the perfect introduction to the Sons Of The Mafia Series. It gives you a taste of what is going on between and in the mafia families.
And of course there is never anything wrong with some lust on both sides of the coin. It's always the most alluring when it's forbidden. Who doesn't love going against the grain for what they want and making sure they get it?

In this series starter the reader is introduced to Damon Papparado who was witness to his mother's assassination by a rival mafia family...She was an O'Hanlan of the Irish mafia family, his deceased father a member of the Italian mafia...his mother whispered Valachi before dying so Damon goes to US from Sicily to infiltrate that crime family, becoming the right-hand man of the Don...as well as being attracted to the daughter Luciana, known as Lulu...but with a mission of revenge could he make her fall for him??? This book really reeled me in! I was hooked instantly and left wanting more, so much more, when I came to the end.
This is a great beginning to a new series! I’m rooting for some characters, wondering what happened to others, and waiting for the demise of one. I’m loving the very slow burn that Damon and Lulu have going on but I have a feeling that their world, especially Lulu’s, is going to be flipped upside down.
I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!.

After reading this book, Sins of the Mafia, I am so excited for the rest of the series. I have been a huge fan of Vi Carter since the first book I read, so I knew I would love this book. But it blew my expectations away. Damon and Lulu are incredibly written characters. The pull that I experienced between Damon and Lulu was papable and intense. Damon wants revenge, but what will happen between Damon and Lulu, in my opinion this was a magnificent book.

This quick read is a great start to what I believe will be a greater series. Damon’s a man determined to exact revenge. Whilst Lul’s the pampered princess of the family he's sworn to take down. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans..... The characters are well-drawn and each in their own way likeable. I loved seeing how his plans changed and what they end up being to each other. Their chemistry is explosive. This is a prequel to the future series that left me wanting to know more - I hope I don't have to wait too long.

Sins of the Mafia is a particularly extraordinary beginning to what will clearly be a considerably more noteworthy series. He's a man twisted on vengeance. She's the princess of family he has promised to bring down. What these two will turn out to be to one another is both inescapable and unstable. Elegantly composed, this prequel to a future series leaves you needing to know their full story. Can hardly stand by!.

In this Novella, we are introduced to Damon Pappardo and Luciana 'Lulu' Valacchi who are part of four of the powerful mafia families who rule the underworld. Damon is dead set on revenging his mother's death which he believes to be due to the actions by or as a direct order from the Valacchi. Since this is a Novella, it stopped just as we were starting to get to the "meat of their story" so I can't wait until the next story in this series is released.

Damon and Lulu are part of the four mafia families that rule underworld. Lulu’s father rules her life with an iron fist, and she wants to escape. Damon is fuelled by vengeance and infiltrates his way into the mafia world and becomes to right hand man for Lulu’s father. This is a well written quick read, which has suspense, drama, danger, intrigue, twists, vengeance, secrets, action, and love, which leads to a thrilling page turner.

After witnessing his mother's death, Damon is set for revenge and his only clue was the name she said with her last breath. Lulu has been in a caged and in order to avoid an arranged marriage, she has made herself indispensable to her father. The chemistry and the introduction of the plot has made me hooked. Looking forward to the series.
