I really dislike the whole idea about labeling a book "Step 1, ready to read" and then seeing difficult vocabulary in the book. It is confusing for first-time Moms trying to teach their kids to read. These books are not for young early readers to actually pick up and read. At least this is my opinion. If the publishers actually think a beginner reader will understand two vowel combinations, consonant blends, compound words and long vowel words they are mistaken. What this book does have is large type and choppy sentences. Horrible to read to my kids.

This was a nice quick read. It was easy for my 5 yr olds to memorize and "read" to me. They are huge Barbie fans.
There isn't much substance to the book but if you are looking for something to get your young daughter interested in basic reading this is a good one.
