Read this along with Girlfriends in God group. Enjoyed discussing and wish I had been able to attend all discussions. Good book and up to date for current reading in our times. Even our younger gals liked and learned more about themselves and their relationship with God. Author more my age and could relate to so many of her situations. Would encourage any gal to read.
I really enjoyed reading Mary Pierce. I decided to use this book as part of my daily devotions, and it did not fail me. She is a woman as ordinary as the rest of us, yet so talented to make us laugh at our problems.
Who is that pitiful, overweight woman in the mirror? It's me!!! Oh my, Mary Pierce is funny and really drives home our need to be okay with who we are. God made us as we are for His glory, not just His amusement.
Read this way back when it was first released. The author happens to be a personal friend... we do not share religious paths, but we shared a lot of young mamahood, and I hear her voice constantly in the book.
I stopped reading after 100 pages. It is well-written, but I kept asking myself where the book is going. It is more a collection of short stories than a book. Also, I found the author quite negative towards herself, and that didn’t speak to me either.
Started off strong, very funny. But as I got deeper into the chapters the author's negative self talk and negative approach to aging and becoming a mother was quite off putting. I don't think Mrs Potato head can only feel better about herself by constantly bringing Barbie down.
Very humorous way of putting life in perspective. I was drawn to the book simply by the title and great graphics on the cover. This was a book I took along as I traveled. I laughed my way through this book.
