Guest artist Riccardo Burchielli (DMZ) joins Earthdivers, for a side mission to the Ice Age in the first of a four-issue mini-arc exploring America’s pre-Columbian past! When Martin and Tawny’s children disappeared, the couple barreled into the desert to track them down at any cost. Instead, they ran afoul of another group of rovers who claimed to be saving the world by traveling through a cave portal to the year 1492 to prevent the creation of America—an idea that defied belief until the grieving parents were lured into the cave and vanished in time and space. Now alone, Tawny must adapt to the wild marshlands of prehistoric Florida, circa 20,000 BC, and the breathtaking and bloodthirsty megafauna are the least of her problems when she’s caught in a war between a community of native Paleo-Indians and an occupying Solutrean force. Tawny’s odds of survival are in free fall, but she’s a mother on a mission…and she’s holding on to hope that the cave brought her here for a family reunion.

A new Earthdivers installment is my favorite thing to wake up to on my kindle! I really like the direction of the series I have no idea where it could go next, and really it could go anywhere and I like that possibility. Can’t wait to see where it goes next.

Entertaining!

As I have LAKOTA Pawnee roots on my mothers side, I found this story very entertaining and laughed throughout it. The premise is silly SiFi/Fantasy with amazing graphics! The artwork is just stunning as the story unfolds of a Native American mother is taken bake to the Ice Age via a cave, her son lost and trying to survive the indigenous of that era along with the Creatures of monstrous size.

Stephen Graham Jones is evidently a man so filled with hatred of white people he has to fabricate a scenario where Ice Age "white people" cross from Europe to America and immediate genocide the natives, because, and I quote "that's what white people do". Never mind that the Solutrean hypothesis is debunked nonsense that ironically white supremacists use to legitimise the European colonisation of the Americas, and let's ignore the fact that Palaeolithic Europeans 1: weren't white skinned and 2: aren't actually the ancestors of modern day Europeans, leaving 0 genetic trace in modern so-called "white people". A bitter revenge fantasy by a man so saddled with victim mentality that he has to fabricate a millenia old race war where his side are noble innocents bravely resisting the inherent monstrous nature of the irredeemably evil and bloodthirsty white people. Truly awful premise, do not waste your time

I am loving this series. The art. The crisp story telling and pacing. The action. The deep and deeply flawed characters who make mistakes and bring their whole selves into the situations SGJ has put them in. #7 kicks off the next storyline with a rip and a tear and I am here for it.

TAWNY - "And by the end of the day you've fallen through some HELLHOLE into .. the ICE AGE."
... well, I have no idea what is happening, but the “20,000BC” scenes are entertaining. I’m still oblivious to the story, but it’s fun to read. ***

Solid intro to a new story arc. Not sure of any evidence of "European" white peoples coming over to N America during the Ice Age, but the premise is fantastic.

When Martin and Tawny's children disappeared, the couple barreled into the desert to track them down at any cost. Although Tawny may have gotten more than she bargained for

clovis point

Shifty intro to this arc. Love the megafauna. Lady lost that nice skin too quick. Lol. Let’s see where she warms up next.
