Four fun, fresh and sweet romances sure to delight. Discover how four unfortunate wallflowers make a wish and manage to stumble into love...
A Wish Upon a Duke How does a wallflower change her fate? One Maypole One Duke One naughty puppy And a little wish… May Day is bearing down on Mayfair and Miss Aubrey Featherington is facing another failed season. It’s difficult to be a successful debutante when one is as painfully shy as herself.
A Wish Upon a Marquess How does a socially inept bluestocking find love? One ruined chemistry set A marquess in need of a scientific mind Three meddling friends and, of course One wish upon a maypole Miss Camilla Fairbanks' romance starts with a bang. Literally. The explosion is heard by everyone in the Marquess of Ashburn's country estate.
A Wish Upon an Earl How does a near spinster find love? A knight in shining armor A little wish about the Maypole A masquerade ball And one injured foot… Lady Sarah Appleton stands accused of a terrible crime. She’s a known romantic. Or at least she was until one epically awful attempt to use her romanticism to catch the love of her life.
A Wish Upon a Viscount How does a daydreaming debutante find love? One forgotten book of poetry A case of mistaken identity A love letter to the wrong beau And a wish made 'round the maypole Miss Rose Waterstone might be a romantic, but she knows better than to believe romance can happen to her. True love and magical wishes are all well and good in poetry, but there's no place for it in her real life—not when the fate of her destitute family depends on her marrying well.
A WISH UPON A DUKE - This was such a sweet romance with no drama, angst or dark problems with the hero or heroine. Andrew White (Drew), Sixth Duke of Amesbury has recently come from the country as it is time to marry & provide the title with an heir & a spare. He has brought his seven hunting pointers - Clover, Rose, Lumpy, Lila, Frick, Frack & Patches. Patches is the new puppy & manages to escape out of his fenced yard & a young lady sees him & keeps him safe. Miss Aubrey Featherly is attending the Dukesbury Finishing Seminary that neighbors the duke's property. She is there to learn how to converse with gentlemen & not get tongue tied. While out walking near the school with her friends a friendly puppy runs up to her & she picks him up & loves on him - funny thing she had just wished for a puppy this morning, but she also wished for love. An angry man finds her with the pup & introduces himself as the Duke of Amesbury & thanks her for rescuing the pup but then blames all the noise that her & her friends were making to be the reason he escaped from his enclosure. Their romantic friendship starts here & he is thrilled with her love of all his dogs & that she loves the country - the courtship is entertaining, sweet & the secondary characters are wonderful, I highly recommend this first book in the new series.
A WISH UPON A MARQUESS - If you want a fun, sweet & romantic read that will leave you feeling happy & smiling - well, this is for you. Camilla Fairbanks is an intelligent & beautiful lady who has seen her third season without a match. Why? Well, as soon as she answers a gentleman's question, her intelligence takes over & their eyes glaze over & they leave. Camilla is going to the Ashburn country estate to visit with her friend Sarah. Sarah's brother is the Marquess of Ashburn & Camilla know Sarah will be having parties, etc. & she needs to find a husband - not that she wants one, but she can't fail her parents but what she really wants is a chemistry set to replace her set that was ruined. When she arrives at Ashburn, Sarah greats her & then there is an explosion. The Marquess of Ashburn "Ash" is newly titled. He was the second son & his older brother died & now Ash is trying to find his legs under the new responsibilities & attempting to finish projects his brother had started - one being the implementation of a brewery; the problem is that Ash doesn't drink ale, nor does he know the first thing about brewing beer. While attempting more experiments a barrel of fermenting beer explodes, drenching him and the drawing room that has become a makeshift brewer's room. Sarah runs in to the room after hearing the explosion & after finding her brother is well, she introduced Camilla to Ash. Sarah is set on having Camilla help Ash with the scientific parts of brewing the beer & Ash accepts her help. The fun they have experimenting, building a friendship, both being attracted to the other but not saying anything was so entertaining & full of humor. Does Ash succeed in perfecting the beer, can he teach Camilla how to act in social situations without scaring off the person with her intelligence, can Camilla convince Ash that he is not his brother & that he needs to be himself.
A WISH UPON AN EARL - What a sweet, very romantic friends/enemies to friends/lovers story. I have enjoyed each one the books in this series & they all have fabulous, handsome, romantic heroes & intelligent, feisty heroines that have fun journeys to their HEA. John Marxum, the Earl of Bentley, or Jack as his friends called him is a true example of the romantic hero & Miss Sarah Appleton was a smart & beautiful miss that Jack had wronged years ago & now is willing to risk all to make it up to her.
A WISH UPON A VISCOUNT - A great finale book in this series - I hate to see all the characters go as they were are so likable & had great stories to tell. The couple in this final book were so special & so opposite but that is what made them so great together! I did wish in the end that we would have found out more about the coded love poem - I was hoping something mysterious would be answered or lead to a next book. I still gave this book 5 Stars because of the grumbling, scowling, growling viscount, Liam & the happy, sunny, beautiful, Rose. I highly recommend this entire series - all the books are easily read in a short time but longer than novella.
There is nothing better than a Regency story but to get a series is even better. These are four wonderful women with four wonderful stories. The characters are so relatable and lovable. You can't help but get behind them in their journeys. I came wait till the next edition is available.Enjoy!
I absolutely adored these books. The characters were so well written along with the scenery that It was like I was there. I think that the Knight was my favorite of all but you'll have to read them to find out what I'm referring to. SOOOOO AWESOME.
What wonderful set of delightful young women. Their stories are sweet and predictable but appealing each in a different way. They each have an interest that could be seen as unusual but their support of one another is heartening.
This little quartet of stones is about four young ladies from the ladies academy. They all decide to make wishes sound the maypole and then we read how their wishes come true
I really enjoyed this collection of stories. The characters were all nice, a joy to read clean old fashioned Regency stories. Suitable for all ages from preteens to your grandmother.
This was an outstanding series. I have reviewed each book separately under their individual titles. These are short stories so the timelines are a bit rushed, but that's to be expected. Be warned that the author uses a more modern language and writing style with a lot of anachronisms. Personally, I'm fine with it if the stories are good. But if you enjoy sweet romances that are character driven with witty dialogue and tender, romantic moments, this is an excellent Regency series of short stories.
These are all sweet stories, with kisses and embraces, and no steam.
