These books are cute. I’ve never read any “cozy mysteries” before now and I’m really enjoying them.
I just want to stay though that I despise love triangles and I spent 5 books being annoyed by it until I finally thought it was over only to have another guy show up to keep it going. It’s the only thing I hate about the books.
Addy is approached by Maggie, a young witch from another coven to help her get rid of a ghost in the house she had inherited which was haunting her. However when they go to the house they discover that the ghost is asking to seek help. Furthermore Addy is being threatened by an upcoming witch trial to be held by the ministry of witch hunters and all her family feared for her security. Logan and Addy seem to be getting closer to one another however even though he is a detective even he cannot keep her safe as is obvious when she and Maggie get kidnapped with only Spooky, Addy's familiar knowing what happened. Can spooky rally the help the witches need in time? I love the thrill in this book and the fact that spooky is aiding Addy and can now also communicate with Nicholas, as well as the fact that Addy's family are always so supportive and her circle of allies is growing. This is a fun and exciting read as are all the books in this Cozy Mystery series
Addy has broken up with max and found Logan has bound magic, but he is not so keen on exploring that and if he isn't keen to be that much a part of her world as Max wasn't, the romance isn't going to get very far. In the meantime there is danger as one of the witches from the other place asks for help, when her grandmothers ghost causes havoc, which leads to danger and also Maggie joining their own coven since her sister has gone. Nicholas would happily date her, spooky likes Nicholas, but Logan is willing to find out a little more about his past, so we will see what happens and if Logan will be a part of her world in the future or not.
With Max out the way the path was clear for Addy and Logan to finally move in to a relationship. So, why had things not progressed in that direction? It’s clear there’s feelings there but he wanted to be friends. That, along with the mystery they had to work through, was a perfect execution of a great installment.

I liked that it was a little less intense than the previous book dealing with Atticus. I'm intrigued by this Ministry of Hunters and how they are going to add to the overall story. I'm also curious about why Logan had his powers bound and what he is going to find out about it.
I'm really hoping that Logan and Addy get together soon. This is really been a great adventure again. And I really don't want this story to end with #8 . I really love the plots of them and what they do .
Book 5 ends of a cliff hanger but this book doesn't really do much with it. The mystery isn't that much of a mystery. And now there seems to be another love interest.
Seriously, Spooky's sarcasm and wit just have me dying with laughter. I love this volume the most. I like how each book can be read without the real need of the previous volume, but still flows beautifully.
