Broken Boys

Rate this book
From the moment I stepped inside Howden House, I was theirs and they were mine. We just didn't know it yet.

The seemingly simple housekeeping job I applied for, turned out to be anything but. I quickly found myself in a house full of torment, desire, pleasure and pain.

These boys have secrets and scars so deep they may never heal, but they're mine to try and save. My perfectly imperfect group of misfits who would die for me and each other. I only hope it doesn't come to that.

Violet is our female main character in Broken Boys and she is a struggling student working hard to make ends meet when she sees an advertisement for a live in housekeeper that sounds too good to be true.
There are 5 men who live in the house, Ben, Cole, Jasper, Spencer and Darryl. 5 extremely hot males who each have their own idiosyncrasies and Violet is determined to figure them all out.
When Violet finds out what happened to them she does everything in her power to make their lives easier and more comfortable.
I loved Violet and all these men in this book and wow what a long list of issues they each have.
Fabulous story but Gemini how could you leave me hanging like that??

Tropes: dark, why choose romance, psychological thriller

From the moment Violet walked through the front doors of Howden House, she became theirs, and they became hers. They just didn't know it yet. The simple housekeeping job turned out to be anything but. Soon, she realized she was living in a house filled with torment, desire, pleasure, and pain. Ben, Cole, Jasper, Spencer, and Darryl had secrets and scars that ran so deep that they may never heal, but they are hers to try and save. Her group of misfits would die for her and each other. Her only hope is that it never comes to that.

So far, I have loved what I have read of Gemini Black's work, but this story went above and beyond. It is a dark read, so if triggers are an issue for you, please educate yourself before beginning it. Violet became an inspiration as she realized how a simple job had become so much more. Each of the guys were unique and had stories of their own that made them who they were. There are few that could have taken on their combined pain and darkness while still being willing to try and help. Each guy had qualities to love and even hate, which made for a very intriguing plot. I easily fell down the rabbit hole that is this story while the outside world stayed put. I was able to relate on many different levels, which made it realistic as well. If the triggers don't stop you and dark romances are your thing, then I highly recommend this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

WOW....JUST WOW

This is book one of the More Than Men Series, and I seriously can not wait for more.
I absolutely loved it, and 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ are just not enough.
It had me gripped from the beginning, and it certainly left me wanting and needing more by the time I came to the end of the book..
These men are so broken that I'm not even sure if Violet Lane knows how to fix them. They have all been tortured mercilessly. But Violet is not going to give up on them.
There's Darryl Saunders, the Boss who is fiercely protective of them all and has no control of his fierce temper.
Cole Barratt, the joker who doesn't feel anything, especially pain.
Jasper Conway, the Techy Nerd who is just so sweet but also so broken.
Benjamin Ramsey lives in the dark and is easily lead, and I think protected by Spencer Hudsons, who is mean and likes to play games and tells you how it is good or bad. I don't want to give too much away. Just download it. It is most definitely worth the read. I can't wait for book 2... Thank Gemini for another fantastic read!🥰😘

Fabulous

Where to start........? I know....... When can I move in to Howden House?! Beautiful Broken Boys, I want to hug them all!

This is a why choose, dark romance, psychological thriller with some triggers and kinks. I read this book in one sitting, it was so easy to read and follow.

I really enjoyed this book, even though it is classed as dark, there were moments reading where I had a huge grin on my face.

I have fallen in love with each of the broken boys. They've all suffered but are still beautful souls underneath their battle scars. Feisty Violet is perfect for them all.

I really want the rest of the story and a big fat HEA please!

The only reason this isn't five stars is because I feel incomplete, I need more.

Darryl, Cole, Ben, Jasper and Spencer, The Broken Boys, will wreck you. Violet will bring love, laughter and light back to these Broken Boys in her very unique way. I had the wonderful joy of being the Alpha Reader for Gemini Black and this is what I wrote after I finished reading the book.
I have just finished and omg.
Womens personal products in the laundry still gets me every time and "did you grow something extra in the lab" bwahahaha everytime.
The story is unveiling so fabulously and how each boy is reacting to Violet and how she reacts to them is genius.
The Darryl shooting episode where he reveals that he has a truly soft side. How you show he is so desperately scared of HIMSELF and his strength is awesome. I cannot wait to see how you deal with him and Violet.
How sensitive Ben is to sunlight and how badly he burns just brings tears to my eyes.
Cole is just a really fab dude.
Jasper, what can I say. I just lurve him to bits.
Then you bring Spencer into the mix and OMG. Violet obviously because she is studying to be a psych doctor, finally understands and realises how to get through to him. Genius!!!!!
I will never look at satin sheets quite the same way hehehe but it works til it doesn't. Poor man.
I really like how you are mixing in the covert operation bits, just enough information so the reader gets what is happening but not too tech to put them off.
I don't know what the word count is but it is too short!!!!! I do not think I can wait for book 2. Sorry, not sorry.
My 2 fav genres, RH and Covert Ops you will be begging for the following book(s) as I am.

Broken Boys by Gemini Black is book one of the More Than Men Series. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I am a fan! This book was so well done. This is a why choose romance that has dark thriller energies. Did my heart break for the Broken Boys. I found myself after finishing that I still wanted more; I even had questions!!! It feels as if there will be book two and if there is, I definitely have to read that as well! Also this is dark so ⚠️⚠️check trigger warnings!⚠️⚠️ it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Violet, the main female character, felt so incredibly real and relatable. The Broken boys, there’s five of them… Spencer, Jasper, Ben, Cole and Daryl. Each of the men have their own heartbreaking story as to why they are the way they are. Violet after accepting a live-in housekeeper job learns of this and wants to do everything she can to help ease their pain. To help in a way that she can. I truly loved how she was the light to their darkness. When she brought smiles to each of their faces, I couldn’t help but to smile myself. Have I mentioned how much I liked this book? I did? Well saying it again, I enjoyed this book. But I need more!!!

5⭐️ 4🌶️

When Violet starts as a housekeeper at Howden House, things a rougher then she imagined. Darryl hired her but is always so formal with her, Jasper is mute, Spencer is extremely rude and very upfront about not wanting her there, Ben isn’t as rude as Spencer but still doesn’t seem to want her there, and then we have Cole. Cole is a huge muscle man who sometimes acts more like an overgrown puppy.

With Cole helping Violet feel included, she starts learning that not everything is as it seems with the guys and they just might need more then a housekeeper in their lives.

There are many twists, turns, angst, and a wonderful amount of spicy scenes that aren’t just steamy, but crucial to the story line. This book does not leave off on a huge cliffhanger, but it is book 1 and there will be more.

If you like dark why choose romances, psychological thrillers, and grouchy men, this book is for you.

Gemini Black’s Broken Boys was a book that has left
me wanting and waiting for the second book.
I can’t wait to read more about these broken boys,
Darryl, Cole, Jasper, Ben and let’s not forget Spencer.
Violet is a student psychologist and hates her job that
pays for her tuition.
An advert she sees in a paper left on the table calls out
to her, she gets an interview and gets the job! Being a
housemaid and cook isn’t her forte but she’ll give it a
go.
But her job entails a lot more than just cooking and
cleaning.
These boys are broken, each and every one of them.
Their own demons and their own horror story.
But why Violet? Why was she chosen?
This book gave me the chills…..in a good way.
I was intrigued when I started reading it and by the
time I got to 30%, I was done for. Violet is no shrinking
upper either as she has some guts living with all
these men and their problems.
I was completely invested in them and loved it. I felt all
of Violets fears and the men’s mood swings as if I was
in the room with them.
I hope to god the second book in More Than Men
series isn’t far away…….

When Violet decides it’s time for a new job, a chance listing for a house keeper might just be her only option. Little did she know, walking into the beauty that was Holden House for that interview would only be the beginning. Between her for passion for psychology and finally meeting all 5 of her new house mates she can’t help but want to stay and learn more. What she finds out will shock you (and make you want to give each character a big hug) and as Violet gets to know Cole, Ben, Jasper, Spencer and Darryl and of course you can’t help falling for each in their own ways so why choose! Spice level: 3.5

*An ARC was provided in exchange of an honest review*

Working for & living with 5 strong, sexy as sin men…why not? Violet gets a job opportunity that improves her previous working situation. At first all seems to be too good to be true with this new job but one should never stare a gift horse in the mouth, so why not! I read this baby in one go and loved every second of it! All 5 men sure did captivate me, each in their own way. I CANNOT WAIT for the next book! Be sure to read this book! You will be sucked into it and will want more!

Violet is trying to make ends meet while being a student. When she sees an advertisement for a live-in housekeeper, things may turn around for her.
There are 5 men living in that house, all with their own troubled past and problems. And Violet is determined to find out what so she can help them all.
This is a reverse harem romance with darker vibes. You will fall for each one of these men, who feel like they are broken and lost. The issues they all suffered, is a long list, but it makes them even more loveable. I am looking forward to reading more about these boys, cause my feeling says that their story isn’t over just yet…

I loooooved this so dang much!!
Always gotta start with the FMC she was the best…. Top tier bad A that didn’t take crap from no one, not even the men’s!
I was so impressed how well this fell in line that I wasn’t expecting the ending to be the end. I was so excited for the next chapter and then bam it was OVER!!!
The boys as much as they were delicious they were so so so so very broken. I felt everyone’s pain when they cousins do what you normally do to comfort people. All of them were damaged in ways that you could never imagine.
I am truly OBSESSED with this book that I will be heavily stalking and waiting for the next book.

This is a new to me author, and I definitely will be reading more of her work. The characters are well developed, and the storyline is intriguing, entertaining, and exciting. This book revolves around Violet and her five broken men. These men are so broken I don’t know if Violet can even fix them. She is not going to give up on them. There is Darryl, the boss, protector of them all. Jasper, who does all things tech. Cole who is the jokester of the group. Spencer who likes to play games and is mean. Finally, Benjamin who lives in the dark. Can Violet help them?

I Need More!

This book is a why choose psychological thriller romance. It revolves around Violet and her 5 men. The men are are ‘broken’ because they unintentionally signed up for experiments that ended in torture and lasting damage. Violet is special and sees the person beyond the damage and helps to heal them.

This book has a moderate level of spice, some angst and an interesting story. I fell in love with this broken boys and want to get to know more about them. I’m am hoping that we get a more indepth look at this chosen family and that the questions I have been left with are answered in the next book. This book is so different than most of those that I had read and I found this very refreshing and had difficulties putting this down.

Spice Level: 🌶

When I started reading this, I wasn't sure I was going to get into it. But then I got hooked and fell in love with the men of this book. It was heartbreaking when you learn each guy's backstory of what happened to them and I hated how much they felt they were "damaged" or "broken". The fact they felt they didn't deserve happiness and love just made you want to climb inside the book to love on them. Violet was the breath of fresh air that was needed for these men. The way she started figuring out what each of them needed and would find ways to help give them something to benefit them, it was so beautiful to see. I'm not sure if these characters realized it was her way of loving them and it was beautiful.

This book is not like any other book I have read and it was a nice change of what I usually read.

I gave this a 4 because 1. I need more of these men and 2. there was definitely some things that never got answered which I am believe there will be a book 2.

This is a kind of dark, psychological thriller romance with Reverse Harem trope. Please check TW before reading.

This book ends on a happy note but not a definite HEA. There looks to be a second book to this story and I'm looking forward to more of these broken boys <3

This was AMAZING! Their relationships and their growth throughout this book were incredible! And can I just say, I was so excited to see a psychology major as the FMC! Also, thank you for giving me a HFN and now a horrible cliffie that would’ve driven me crazy! I want to read everything you have to offer about these characters!

Ooo this story is good. It unfolds naturally and effortlessly. Secrets are exposed and the adventures begin. It's a teasing titillating tale of what was and what could be. You can't help but feel and love these characters. As I was getting toward the end I was already wanting more... It's that good. Read and enjoy.

Before reading, please read the forward statement from the author.

If you’ve read Gemini Black, readers you are in for a treat.

Violet is a struggling student, working hard to make ends meet, when she eyes an advert for a live in housekeeper, which sounds too good to be true, she takes a chance and it pays off more than she bargained for.

We meet the five men of Howden House - Darryl, Ben, Cole, Jasper, and Spencer. These boys have secrets and scars so deep that they may never heal.

Violet has claimed them as hers and she is determined in her actions to try and save them, but in order to do that she has to learn who they are, what makes them tick, and what sets them apart from each other.

As she gets to know them, Violet finds out what happened to them, they don’t want her pity, but it makes her appreciate them all the more as she does everything in her power to make sure their lives are better and more important, putting their needs first above her own.

As time moves on Violet finds herself in a house full of torment, desire, pleasure and pain, despite there trauma, she instills something in each of her imperfect misfits, something they never thought they would ever experience. She accepts them for what and who they are, and they can see she is genuine, the real thing.

Darryl, Ben, Cole, Jasper, and Spencer are bounded together, for Violet means something to them and would die for her and each other.

This book had me gripped from the beginning and, by the end of this book, had me wanting more.

There are definitely some noticeable and worthy scenes with the right amount of build up, because they were blazing hot and spicy.

I am very much looking forward to the next book and what is in store for Violet and her men.

Highly recommend both the author and the book!

I received an ARC. Therefore, am leaving a voluntary review.

This story of Violet and her Broken Boys.
Violet Lane is a psychology student who has one more year to complete her studies. Living in the city and struggling to pay her tuition fees.
So when she comes across a job advertisement on a newspaper she is very intrigued and decides to apply.
Howden House is the home for 5 extremely good looking men, Darryl, Spencer, Cole, Jasper and Ben. Each of them flawed, each of them troubled, each of them very different from one another, which Violet finds is really challenging at first yet interesting in their own ways. For years the 5 boys had been battling their own demons. Hiding their darkest secrets. Soon Violet becomes their hope, the light in their darkness that they never knew they needed in their lives in order to heal.

Oh my god! This book has everything! It had action, drama, sexy times, suspense!

I love, love, LOVE this book so much! And that last chapter? I squealed! I want my birthdays to be like that.

I adore Violet, she’s a badass and I’d love to be her friend. She’s everything I want to to be.

I adore all the boys, Jasper and Cole immediately caught my heart, and then Spencer and Ben wormed their way in there before Darryl claimed it. I can’t decide which one I love more, so I won’t. I’m happily settling for loving them all equally.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series, because now that I’ve had a taste of this world, I just want more.

This is definitely a book that I will read over and over, because I love everything about it.

It took me a few chapters to get into this one. Once I was in, I was hooked! I’ve never read a book like this storyline before. I really enjoyed it.

It’s a reverse harem story, with Violet as the main FC. Darryl, Cole, Jasper, Ben and Spencer are her Broken Boys. When you finally learn their backstories, your heart will just break for them.

This is Book One, so the story isn’t a complete one. It states it ends on a cliffhanger, but in all actuality, it just ends…rather abruptly. Even though I enjoyed this story quite a lot. It felt like it was missing or lacking something more. However, when Book Two comes out, I’ll definitely be checking it out!

This book was very cool. I've always loved sci-fi, supernatural, fantasy type stuff, so this book which included a group of men who have been 'modified' really appealed. I loved the characters and the storyline and how the various relationships developed. My only criticism would be that the 'issues' seem to be resolved almost too easily. I would have loved a more in depth look at the covert operation and the intruder incident was resolved almost before it started. I think if these sections were expanded further it would greatly improve the story. Overall I really enjoyed the story and I can't wait to read the second book.

When Violet is a psychology student and needing some extra money she gets a job as a housekeeper at Howden House, but she soon becomes far more to the resident bad boys Darryl, Cole, Jasper, Ben and Spencer. The broken boys wothndeep pasts and ones Violent is determined to understand. This is book 1 and ends on a cliffhanger, the characters and story develop well and hold yoyr attention through out and leave you craving more! I especially loved the character bios for the boys at their first chapter.

This is a dark, why-choose book. It is book one in the More Than Men series. Please check Trigger Warnings before reading. I loved this book! The FMC and her 4 men gave me life! They are broken and unique and the FMC comes in and shakes things up. This story had me engulfed and devouring it with every page turn. I'm super excited for book two and to see how everything plays out. I know that book two will have readers on the edge. Book one was the edging readers needed. If you haven't read it then you should grab it.

Violet applies for a job as a live in housekeeper and meets her 5 broken boys. This is the first book I have read by Black, but it won’t be the last. I loved Violet and seeing her figure out ways to help each of the 5 guys. The guys are broken in their own ways. I loved seeing them all start - there are twists, mysteries, and a few laughs, but for me this story was all about the relationships and finding their strengths in their brokenness. Can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.

Very Interesting.
It's a RH, medium burn, dark romance with a little of PNR!?
The FMC grows as the story unfolds.
Doesn't have a cliffhanger but is to continue. The end of the book it's funny...
The guys were deceived and forced to participate in an inhumane investigation. They escaped but without bad consequences.
She was hired to take care of the house, but the guys were the ones who needed care.
I want to read the next book.

Violet needs a new job when she sees a job circled in a discarded newspaper she decides to go for it . Never in a million years could she have guessed what her new job entailed and the ones she was to look after and even though a few try to push her to make her leave she’s made of strong stuff and defies their attempts.
