Daisy My dream is to finish college, get a good job, and move out of my judgemental mother’s house. A long weekend with the girlfriends is just the break I need. When I get lost and end up at the home of a handsome, older cowboy, I don’t want to leave. He’s strong, quiet, and I want to ride him like a bucking bronco. Have I finally found someone who thinks I’m good enough?
Harrison Settling down on a ranch was my life’s dream. But I never imagined I’d be doing it alone. When an innocent beauty knocks on my door, I want to help her. She’s curvy, sweet, and dangerously too young. Can I convince her that she is more than enough for me?
Liz Fox writes short, sweet, steamy romances romances. They feature curvy women and the alpha men who fall in love with them. A curvy woman herself, she has a special place in her heart for happily ever afters.
”Every woman should have a moment or two with a sexy, shirtless cowboy. Seriously. I highly recommend it.”
A “lunch break read” which apparently has been my thing lately. I’ve just been devouring them. The trick to a good “lunch break read” is finding the perfect author. Not every author can pull off a full on romance in just a few pages. Luckily, Liz fox is one of those authors.
We’ve got an older man named Harrison (who looks like Harrison Ford btw) and a younger college student named Daisy who is lost in a storm (literally) when her mom tosses her out of the house.
The romance is sweet with the only trouble being his conscience about having a daughter only slightly younger than her that he wasn’t always there for. I found his daughter to be a spoiled, entitled brat who can suck it.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Daisy is on her way to spend the weekend with her friends for a bachelorette party only after a fight with her mother is now homeless and driving whilst crying was not a good idea especially with the storm to a remote cabin so when she arrives where she is shocked to discover a handsome man rather than her friend, things go from bad to worse when she realises that she has made a wrong turn and where she had parked her car a branch has fallen and is now lying on the roof. So when the silver fox who has introduced himself as Harrison offers her somewhere to stay the night she has little option but to accept and when one night turns into two she knows he is her perfect man especially after the day and night that they have just spent together but in the cold light of day when she wakes to a note and direction to where she needs to go she leaves with her heart broken and with a man that doesn’t seem to want it. Did Daisy really make a wrong turn that night or was that her destiny?
Harrison bought his ranch a few years ago deciding that the time had come to put down some roots and make a home somewhere where his daughter wanted to visit him. But the night of a storm he opens the door to a vision, one that he wants to see every day and morning for the rest of his life but the age difference isn’t something that he can just ignore especially when she is close to the age of his daughter. But after one night he is smitten and when she agrees to stay a little longer he knows that the chemistry between them is not one way and it’s the best night of his life only with the morning brings doubts and after a phone call from his daughter knows that he has to concentrate on her and pushes Daisy away only to realise that was the biggest mistake of his life. Will he find her and has he destroyed what was the love of his life over doubts?
I am fast loving these ideal lunchtime length reads they have a taboo element with the age difference but the women in the books are always strong and easy to love. This was a read I have to say I loved and I am looking forward to reading so many more books. 4* Read.
Yikes. I never give 1⭐️ to books but wow. Pretty sure I was rolling my eyes the entire time. They both act like 16 year old high schoolers. I’m glad the book was as short as it was or I would have DNF so quick.
Daisy and Harrison meet by chance, one rainy stormy night. Daisy had gotten in a one major, and final fight with her mother, over of all things, Daisy’s weight. Once again, harping on how she needs, to do something about it, and when Daisy is fed up she says, no she doesn’t. Her mom proceeds to, kick her out of the house.
Daisy is crying, and overwhelmed knowing she, only has one more semester of college left so, that she could start her own business, and work remotely as, a graphic artist. Its beyond, frustrating to Daisy. So, she decides that, she will head to her friends bachelorette party early, because she knows her friend is heading their early, to set up.
Here’s where, the problem comes in, for Daisy. It’s at a remote cabin, and she has to use her GPS to get there, all is good until, a storm rolls in, and her GPS is spotty to, say the least. But, she is of the adage, ‘act as if.’ Here, not such a good call, or is it.? Enter a younger version of, Harrison Ford, but naturally ripped.
Yup! She ends up at the wrong cabin, and it is with a man who is, ironically named, Harrison. He is infatuated by, Daisy’s looks, but also her cheesiness. She is the total package, for him although she is, a good twenty years younger, at least. He can tell she is tired, stressed, and needs to be dry and out of the rain.
See how these two manage to connect, separate, and reconnect. Knowing for sure that life without each other is not what they want. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
An older man younger woman romance where he also happens to be a single dad? Sign me up! This was cute and the way they meet is funny but sparks fly instantly. There is a moment of hesitation where Harrison second guesses what they could be, but it doesn't last long. I love that the story is short so it moves fast and doesn't drag.
The way his azz looks in a pair of Wranglers makes me want to save a horse and ride a cowboy!
Her Older Cowboy is the first book in the Daddy Knows Better series and is the story of Daisy and Harrison. Don't let the series name scare you off this one as Daddy is not used to mean DD/lg. So if that is not your jam then no issues with story. Daisy is about to start her last semester of college. But before that happens she and her mother get into a larger than average fight, well really it is just Daisy finally standing up for herself, and her mother kicks her out of the house. With no where else to go she decides to drive to the rental house that her friend got to host her bachelorette party. Even if she is a few days later Daisy knows that Hannah will be happy to see her. But first she needs to get there and this drive is not going quite as planned. Least of her issues is the monsoon rain storm, the dark night, her phone GPS directions stopping a while ago and all of her crying. She may be lost but she is determined to find the place and when she thinks she does let's just say it is a big surprise to have the door answered by a very tall, large, handsome and sexy silver fox. Things get worse though as she turns to walk back to her car there is a loud crack and then a branch falls onto the top of her car. Daisy can just not seem to get a break today. A few years ago Harrison stopped working and bought a ranch so he could be closer to his only daughter. As he and his ex never got married and he traveled a lot for work he knew he had missed out on a lot with Abigail and he was determined to give her a place to land when she needed it. But in the mean time Abigail had graduated high school and started college and he was living on his own in a large house out in the country. So when he opens the door on a dark and stormy night only to find a young woman who was lost standing there he ends up taking her inside and giving her a place to sleep for the night. But as they were sitting in front of the fire he could not stop looking at her. She may only be a bit older than his daughter but to say he is attracted to her would be an understatement. Now he just needs to figure out how to keep her.
This is a charming and very endearing first book in the series. It is well written, has a great story-line that is filled with a lot of yummy goodness and characters that are realistic and likeable. Well, okay, so I did want to kick Harrison when he did one not nice thing and ends up hurting Daisy. But the man did freak a bit and he did make it more than right before the end. I enjoyed this story and would recommend the book to other readers. I am looking forward to the new series and seeing what Daisy's other friends get up to.
So Daisy's mom is a terrible person. She doesn't have a "mom" bone in her entire body. She never approves of anything Daisy does and constantly tells her she needs to lose weight. When during an argument her mother throws her out of the house. Daisy has no where to go. Remembering she was invited to a bachelorett party at a remote cabin by her friend , she decides to head there. Even though the party weekend doesn't start for two days, she knows her friend will be there setting everything up. But it has started pouring down rain. You can't see anything so she is crawling along in this ridiculous storm out in the boonies. When she finally finds the dirt road she is supposed to turn down, she does so with caution. But then seeing this big beautiful cabin she relaxes, she's here. Daisy jumps out and runs up the porch to the door. Even though it was a short jog, she is soaked to the bone. She can't wait to get inside and get dry and warm. But when she beats on the door, it isn't her friend that answers. Where has she ended up at? Who is this person answering the door? What is she going to do, she's freezing? This is an excellent short read. I really love Liz Fox's books. This is an excellent book for during lunch, right before bed, in a waiting room or anytime. Always with an hea, her books are pure entertainment. I recommend this book and this author.
Cute short about a curvy girl and her older cowboy. Daisy has been kicked out of her house after a fight with her mom, she decides to arrive a few days early to her friends bachelorette party cabin. Unfortunately she gets all turned around and is lost, she ends up at Harrison’s house instead. Harrison is an older man with a 18 year old daughter, he lives by himself on a ranch with animals. When he opens the door to Daisy he is instantly struck by how beautiful she is and surprised over how much he is attracted to her, he always just focused on work. He gets Daisy settled for the night, the next day after the rain stops he takes her on a picnic. Daisy loves horses and all the other animals on the ranch. That evening they enjoy sext times, the next morning Harrison’s daughter calls all upset cause she couldn’t reach him and guilts him about not ever being available to her. Feeling like he’s letting his daughter down again he decides to end things with Daisy by leaving her a note. Reading the note, Daisy is saddened and upset, she leaves for her friends party. Harrison realizes he made a mistake come to explain and apologize to Daisy. After hearing him out she accepts his apology, both say ‘I love you’ and they go back to his ranch. Epilogue six months later with Harrison proposing.

Plot: Daisy's mom just kicked her out after a bad fight, and so Daisy is headed to stay with a friend for a few days. On her way, she gets turned around and ends up at Harrison's ranch, where he invites her to stay because the weather is really bad. That's not a hardship though, because he is definitely a silver fox. Harrison can't believe his luck either; he opened the door to the girl of his dreams. But there's some baggage: Daisy's just a little older than Harrison's daughter, and she has some major self-esteem issues because of her mom. Can they make it work?
Character development: Harrison did her dirty - I'm glad he came to his senses soon enough. His daughter sounded incredibly spoiled. He was even questioning that himself (should've kept questioning! She was an absolute brat!). Maybe Daisy's mom and Harrison's daughter can be roomies now. This was a cute story, even if it went super fast! The proposal was really sweet.
Daddy Knows Better is the series name, and while I don't object to all Daddy/Little Girl stories, I'm very careful as to which ones I read. I was wary but hopeful as I started this book. Well, let me tell you, I was quite pleased to find that Daddy simply referred to Harrison's status as a single father and the extreme age difference between him and Daisy. Harrison's daughter is only a couple of years younger than Daisy. What I loved most about this story was the connection these two shared right from the start. Yes, there is some intense chemistry and some angst (on Harrison's part) about their age difference. But from the first moment, there's more. Harrison looks like a young Harrison Ford, Daisy's favorite silver fox. Daisies are Harrison's favorite flower. Add in the fact that Daisy doesn't hesitate to help out on Harrison's ranch, and all the animals love her. Plus Harrison can't believe the way Daisy's mother has damaged her self esteem and confidence, and he wants nothing more than to be her safe harbor and biggest cheerleader. Love comes unexpectedly to these two unlikely people, but is no less fierce for it. Fast, fun, and utterly delightful - Happy Reading!!
Daisy is finishing up her last semester of college while living with her mother. When they have a huge fight, her mother kicks her out. Having nowhere else to go on short notice she heads to the cabin her best friend has rented for her bachelorette party. However along the way, Daisy gets lost and stuck in a downpour and loses cell signal, therefore, her GPS. Following the directions as best she can remember, she gets to the ranch cabin. When she knocks on the door, an older gorgeous cowboy answers the door. Harrison decided to step back from his hustle and bustle life and run a ranch. He is a single dad living alone. Now Daisy is stuck due to the downpour. Will sparks fly with the caring cowboy?
This is a great quick steamy read. Harrison is an alpha male with a soft heart and is a bit unsure of himself which makes him endearing. Daisy is a strong woman but has been dealt a hurtful blow which has her feeling bad about herself.
If you enjoy the work of Kate Hunt then you will likely enjoy this book as well.
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review which is my opinion alone.
Daisy was just kicked out of her mom’s house with a semester left in college and she is meeting friends for a bachelorette weekend when she gets lost and ends up at the wrong house. To make matters worse a tree branch falls on her car and she is unable to leave. Harrison owns the farm where she is stranded and is handsome and seems strong, kind and quiet. They become friendly and she enjoys helping him with the farm chores and they end up having sex. The next day he gets a call from his 18 year old daughter and he regrets getting involved with Daisy and writes her a note and leaves for the day. After Daisy leaves to join her friends will Harrison have second thoughts about Daisy leaving? Can Daisy be happy with her older cowboy?
I enjoyed this short instalove story with an older man and young girl. The author let us see their thoughts and realize that their age difference didn’t mean that they couldn’t be happy together. I couldn’t help but laugh when I read my favorite line of the book when Daisy said, “His ass in Wranglers make me want to save a horse and ride a cowboy.” I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Daisy is on her way to a bachelorette party in a cabin. It is pouring rain and she loses her way. She pulls up in front of a cabin, but it's not the right one. The door is answered by an older, good looking cowboy, Harrison. He invites her in to ride out the storm and a big branch falls on her car. She's had a very bad day and accepts his offer. She ends up staying a few days and they are both draw to each other. Although he worries about the age difference, his daughter just graduated high school and left for college. Daisy is on her last semester of college. After sleeping together and having the best night and morning sex of their lives, he gets a call from his daughter which makes him doubt the relationship and he leaves a note saying goodbye and takes off in his truck. When Daisy finds the note she doesn't understand and is heart broken. She goes on to the party and a couple days later, Harrison shows up at the door, he apologizes to Daisy and lets her know he was wrong to be scared and to run like he did. He professes his love and firmly commits to spending forever with her. Ending was good, just wish there had been an epilogue a few years down the road.
A forever with a Silver Fox! This is about Daisy and Harrison. Daisy is kicked out of her home after an argument between her and her mother. She is on the road as she is heading to a friend’s bachelorette party but takes that wrong turn and ends up farther and in a rainstorm. She thinks the house she found is the right one but instead it’s not as it belong to Harrison and when she is about to head to her car, a tree limb falls off on top of her car, not allowing her to drive off after all. Harrison doesn’t want her driving at night in this weather as it is so he invites her to stay overnight hoping the weather will ease up the next day for her travels.
Harrison has a daughter who recently graduated high school and knows that Daisy is not much older than his own daughter but can’t stop feeling what he does for her as is this perfect curvy woman that he needs and wants forever! Will his daughter Abigail accept this, or will she be a cause for them not to be together? Of course, I always love the ending, this is no exception.
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 A girl down on her luck and a lonely cowboy...
Daisy is on her way to a friend’s bachelorette weekend. A few days early since she finds herself unexpectedly homeless after a fight with her mother.
But bad vibes seem to follow her when she gets lost during a rain storm. But one look at Harrison and Daisy feelings her bad luck might just have run it’s course :)
When a young woman knocks on his door, Harrison is blown away by the instant pull he feels with her. But Daisy is too young for an older guy like him, right? What he thinks is right and what he feels is right will throw both of these romantics for a loop. Nothing a couple of days of pure uninterrupted bliss wont clear up though!
No more spoilers! Give this cute quickie read a try! Just be prepared to love Daisy and Harrison!
If you want insta-love with a big dose of heat, this one is a must!
Heat Level: 5/5
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Daisy was on her way to a bachelorette party early ahead of schedule. She had got in a fight with her mother and got thrown out of the house. It was dark out, raining heavily and her GPS had konked out. She finally came upon a house and thought this must to be it. The door opened and Daisy saw not her friend but a silver fox handsome man. Harrison was not expecting anyone and when he went to the door, he saw the most beautiful woman. There was a moment, an instant when he knew this was the woman he wanted. Daisy was offered a place to stay. She felt safe and the next day helped with the animals on the ranch. Harrison and Daisy were good for each other. They enjoyed many of the same things. This story is about tender love, lasting love of two people at different stages in their lives who find each other and are the answer for each other. Together it works and their life becomes more with each other in it. I really enjoyed this story so very much!

Daisy is on her way to her friend's cabin for her bachelorette party but she is a couple of days early and the rain is pouring down in sheets and she takes a turn she believes to be the right direction when she gets to the cabin she knocks on the door but she doesn't see a car and she knocks again before she sees the doorbell and rings it and quickly the door is opened. When the door opens and she sees the handsome but older man Harrison was standing there when she asked where her friend was the man indicated she was not in the right place. Daisy was taken by the man but she was scared to go ln his house when he told her to come in and get dry he assured her she was safe and she could call whomever to make sure she felt safe with him. This is their story. A cute short storyline as are the characters. I was given an ARC without obligations. I am providing an honest review.
Daisy was having an awful day and she just wanted to get to her friends weekend party at the cabin. She lost signal and thought she was going the right way but wasn't she ended up at a cabin but the wrong one. It was storming really bad so Harrison said to come in and stay and she can head out once the storm is gone. She could call who ever she needs to let them know where she was. She ended up staying for a few days and they got to know each other better. Harrison was much older then her he had a daughter about her age. She called and was upset cause her mom was engaged so he cut ties with daisy let her a note and she left and went with her best friends cabin she was heart broken the next thing you know Harrison showed up and took her for a drive and said he was sorry and he wanted to be with her. So they ended up getting g their happy ever after.
I really enjoyed this short story. It was an entertaining beginning to a new series. I look forward to reading more books in this series. The characters were interesting and relatable. Daisy had wonderful friends that were supportive and had her back. Harrison and Daisy were immediately attracted to each other when they met. Harrison was kind and sweet while he helped Daisy with a difficult situation. Daisy was appreciative of Harrison's kindness. Daisy and Harrison had a "regular" romance where they got to know each other, had dates, etc. but it was sped up and squished into a couple of days. There is a little bit of drama/angst but it resolves well. I loved their happy ever after although, I wish there was an epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.
I wasn't excited to read this book, and honestly, I only picked it up because there was nothing else.
Daysy, a college girl, gets kicked out of her house after a fight with her mom. She ends up at the wrong house-Harrison's-because, of course, she got lost. He invites her in because a storm conveniently destroyed her car. Two days later, they're supposedly in love. Then he breaks up with her via a note .
The book is seven chapters long. Seven. There's no depth, no emotions, no connection. Daysy's insecurities barely show, and Harrison gets manipulated by his 18-year-old daughter in a way that makes zero sense. The story is rushed, absurd, and flat. Two days, fake love, instant forgiveness. If this boo. are food, it would be bland, soggy cereal with zero flavor.

This is the 1st book by Liz Fox that I have read and it certainly won't be the last. Ms. Fox writes a story that grabs you from the 1st page to the last and her characters are so delightful that you can't help cheer for their happily ever after. Harrison and Daisy's story is one of finding your soul mate when you think that your life as you know it has gone horribly wrong. This story has everything that you could want; comedy, drama, angst and hot romance. I can't wait to read more in this series and you will be sorry if you miss this delightful gem of a book!

Her Older Cowboy is first book in Liz Fox’s Daddy Knows Best series. In this book, we meet Daisy and Harrison. Daisy is a strong woman emotionally wounded by her mother and Harrison is an alpha male with a soft heart. A severe storm causes Daisy to get lost and land on Harrison’s doorstep. Sparks fly from their initial meeting. Fear, misunderstandings, and emotional wounds provide obstacles in their romantic journey. Will they be able to work things out?
I enjoyed this age-difference romance story. It is a well-written quick read. I loved the strong female lead character. Ms. Fox does a superb job in creating realistic and likeable characters. I applaud her theme of unexpected love between two unlikely characters. Way to go, Ms. Fox!
Daisy pulls into the wrong house but gets the right man. Harrison owns the house and a freak storm knocks a branch on her car stranding her at his house. I loved this book. Harrison was a hot older man who had an insta-love situation with Daisy. I loved his gentleman charm and special considerate touches he had not just for her, it was just his way. This was a fantastic story and I was really impressed at the simplicity but definitely a kindred spirit.

I absolutely loved Her Older Cowboy by Liz Fox. I fell hard and fast for Harrison. He was strong, sexy and knew how to wear his wranglers! Daisy finds herself on his porch getting lost on her way to her friend's bachelorette party. Harrison invites her to stay with him after her car is damaged. Harrison is lonely living on his ranch by himself and having Daisy around brings light to his life. Even though Harrison is immediately attracted to Daisy, he struggles with his feelings knowing she is his daughter's age. Will he let his doubts tear them apart? 5 stars!
Harrison and Daisy will have you riding high on this intriguing story. When Daisy is kicked out of her home again, she decides to go to her friend's weekend party. She didn't expect to get lost on the way or end up with a tall cowboy as her host. When she pulls into his driveway, she knows for sure she is lost until Harrison opens the door. He is captivated by her right from the beginning. Can these two lost and lonely individuals find solace in each other for a chance to find happiness? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
What started out as a pretty bad day, events take a dramatic turn. It’s an accidental meeting. Or is it? Could it be fate that she knocks on the only door that could lead to a lifetime of happiness. Harrison may be older, but he falls fast for the curvy Daisy. Neither can resist the magnetic pull. Of course, there’s some drama to put a hiccup in their whirlwind romance. I received an advanced reader copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Harrison had his life planned. Then life changed those plans when Daisy got lost and showed up on his doorstep. Then Mother Nature kinda put an end to the evening of her reaching her destination. It's a wonderfully sweet romance, yes it's insta love, but Harrison is sure he knows what he wants when he finds it on his doorstep. I would recommend to anyone who likes a quick read.
