Cali Jenkins She’s a good girl. A rule follower. Mature beyond her years, but not by choice. She’s always had to be the responsible one. The caretaker. The strong one. No one would ever know it, but sometimes she wishes things were different. When things take a devastating turn, she isn’t ready for the roller coaster that’s about to begin. She never expected to get mixed up with a devastatingly handsome yet terrifying mafia boss. Declan Gilroy He has everything. Money, power, respect, family. What else could he possibly want? Something he’s sure he will never find. After all, he's twisted and ruthless. Imagine his surprise when the timid little waitress approaches his table filled with the most dangerous men in Seattle and bravely demands a moment of his time. When she makes him an offer, there’s no way he can refuse. In fact, he can’t wait to say yes so he can corrupt her and make her call him Daddy. You may have met Declan already, but if not, you can get to know him in my Daddies of the Shadows series where he first appears in Wolf's book.

Mafia with Dom/sub but this takes a twist that I’ll be honest have not read before- Daddy and Little. So with a woman who is more like little girl- all above age range and not really my kink but still a good story. That was the only thing I didn’t like about it but everything else pretty good.
A page-turner! This is a book I could read again and again. I loved all of the characters - Declan's men, I mean.
There are many quotes that I just absolutely love in this book. One of my favorites is from Declan: They just help me take care of her because if she's important to me, she's important to them.
Your feminism has no place here…all I can say is it was an entertaining read if you don’t let yourself overthink it too much and can deal with all the cringe.
It’s my first time delving into this whole ‘Daddy’ thing and I’m really not into it. I had to mentally replace certain words. I loathe the term ‘baby girl’. Every time I came across it - which was so many many times - I replaced it with ‘love’ and I blocked out the ‘Daddy’ pet name all together.
Did I cringe and die a little inside while reading this? Yes.
Was I giggling like a mad woman and entertained? Also, yes.
I love me a mafia book, but I really struggled with this one.
I like a big bad possessive anti-hero and the strong family that stands with him and I'm all about trying something new, but this was clearly outside my understanding. I kept questioning actions and it took away the entertainment and I just rolled my eyes or got really annoyed - which probably isn't the reaction the author was going for.
The writing at times felt a little immature, but considering the subject matter, I suppose it's to be expected. I don't mind the daddy-thing in role play, but add the whole 'Little' to it and it was like wading through treacle.....the tantrum at the end finished me off and not in a good way.
It's a shame, as I really liked the brothers, but to have a whole family with the same penchant (seriously?) that's just a tad too much to endure 🙄
Without doubt, a genre I'm not going to be reading again.
This is one of those books I wish didn’t end because I loved it so much 😍
Cali is an absolute sweetheart and Declan is a big, bad mafia boss who’s a bit obsessed with a girl he shouldn’t have. Doesn’t mean he won’t drop everything to help her when she needs him.
I’m obsessed. I can’t wait for her sister and Killian’s story!
So the whole "I want to look innocent and small and pure" is a little far, and I like Daddy books. This is a 22 year old who watches porn and goes to sex clubs, but has apparently never even put a finger into herself (no tampons I guess) and is a virgin and completely inexperienced. Her Daddy is 22 years older than her, immediately faithful and obsessed and painfully repetitive with how badass and dirty and dangerous he is and how much he can't "taint" her but is convinced to marry her immediately.
Some inconsistencies, like he tells her not touching herself is rule two, and then a chapter later says it's time for rules and gives her a different list.
And they say they'd break their mafia agreements by kidnapping a woman, but then it becomes that he can't get her back without marrying her sister. The rules are very convenient.
Anyways it's okay. I laughed out loud a few times at how unbelievable it was, but that's fine if you're into that escapism. Thick in the suspension of reality trope but okay.
I was recommended this series by a book bestie as a “I think you’ll like it, just give it a try” book! I’ve never read a DD/lg book and honestly didn’t think it was for me. However, I’m all about unlocking a new kink so obviously I downloaded it…..
Verdict: WHY IS IT SO FREAKING HOT 🥵😈🤭
The author had me instantly at Mafia series and I quickly fell in love with these characters! It was so interesting seeing their dynamic and a different type of relationship than I am used to reading! I didn’t know I needed a Daddy Dom in my life!!!! I devoured this book and then the next 2 in the series in a weekend not wanting to put them down! If you have ever been curious about DD/lg books wanting to dip your toe in I highly recommend this series!!!!!
This was an okay book it was more towards a DD/LG vibes if anyone wanted to know on the daddy front. Has some little talk and stuffies and stuff like that. Not really age gap.
Cali is doing okay she met Declan at a club but he is a mob boss and he doesn’t want to ruin her with his darkness so he watches out for her from afar. Things are going okay he sees her when they eat at the place she works at. Until she ask him a favor her sister is missing and was wondering if he could help her.
He says yes and the more he listens to who took her sister he thinks she might be in trouble. We see them get closer but Declan does push away few times because of his job and when he finds out she’s a virgin he doesn’t want to ruin her. It does take his brothers few times to say he she’s going to be in danger when you’re not around make her yours. They are dealing with another family who took Cali sister and all that.
Why it wasn’t a higher rating.. I didn’t care for Cali little and her beings brat.. I don’t enjoy brats.. annd I got tired of her saying snitches get stitches… and the guys saying they would punish her when that should be Only her daddy’s job. Like I get telling him if she was being naughty or didn’t listen to the rules. But I’m glad they never crossed that line but them saying it a few times.
Idk if I’ll read the next book. I enjoy Killian but Cali sister I’m not 100% sold on her.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, slight secondary, drama, sexy times, virgin gal no manwhore

Omg this was a great start to a new series from Kate Oliver!
I loved the tie-in to the Daddies of the Shadows series. She clearly knows her readers well and knew we couldn't have a total goodbye to that crew.
I appreciated that while this was a darker mafia DDlg romance, she balanced it with so many laughs (Snitches Get Stiches, Sleeping With The Fishies. IYKYK).
The series was set up really well, we were introduced to a ton of characters that could easily get their own books, the world was developed fantastically, and if I'm not mistaken she could have even set up and hinted at other spinoff series as well.
I'm 100% sold and will be back for the rest of this series as she releases them...she got me hook, line, and sinker (but you won't catch me sleeping with the fishies, I'm a good girl 😉)
HOLY Irish mob batman! I met Declan in Wolf's book and he intrigued me so much that when i saw he had a book I just right into reading it. OH Declan, you hard core sweet man. You tugged at my heart string in Wolf's book but you just twisted them all up in your book. Between you and your brothers and men I am going to have to have a cool down soon.
Over all I loved the sassiness of Cali and how she just gave enough back to make these big ol men smile. So wasn't a wimpy girl at all, she knew the deal and just took that faélán by the ears and made him hers. I can't wait to get into Scarlett/Kellian story. I know that one is going to make me cry so hard.
But just remember :
snitches get stiches and get their finger cut off and fed to the fishes.
This was a first for me it started off good but then the ddlg kicked in and for me it was just like reading a 24 year old woman act like a 5 year old and I’m not sure it was just off putting 🫣 I loved the H loved the other men in the series but the h and the ddlg was not for me
I didn't even bother reading further than page 2. This is not a mafia book. Mafia dons and crime lords don't go to costume parties wearing wolf masks and fake wolf paw gloves. They don't describe other people's costumes as "adorable characters." Author, do you really think Al Capone, Lucky Luciano or even Tony Soprano or Scarface would wear a wolf costume or use the word adorable? At least watch a mafia movie (ANY of them) before trying to write a mafia book.
Corrupting Cali by Kate Oliver This was my first experience with this author, and I must say, the book was quite engaging and steamy. The plot unfolded with an intensity and fast speed but I felt the word "Daddy" was too repetitive. Despite those minor cringe moments 🫣 I found myself thoroughly absorbed in the story, and overall, I truly enjoyed the book
Oh my…. Please this book was addicting from start to finish, and the spice was sheeeshh… I love the relationship between Decland and Cali, the only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of all the d*ddy talk, no thanks…..
Has some good spice and is a mofia age gap. Story was good; however, this book made me realize that I am not into 24/7 Littles kink. This was a bit too much.
You guys wanted me to post what I was reading, well here you go. Kinda cheating cause these were the most socially acceptable ones out of them all (aka only minor ddlg :))
I want to start by saying I love Kate Oliver and all her previous books, but Corrupting Cali was not my favourite. Cali was too repetitive and her character was lacklustre. Declan, in my opinion, for a "mafia boss" was weak and every decision he made he chose wrong or questioned himself. There is only so much "snitches get stitches" a common biker term, or " swimming with the fishes " or "cutting off a finger" a person can take. It's like Kate ran out of ideas and wrote the same paragraph over and over again and it's amazingly offensive to the reader to have to read those same phrases over and over again. I am sad because Declan fell short of the Shadow Daddies and didn't live up to the hype. I just so hope Scarlett story will save this series and it will only get better.
Man this book was sooooo good. I don’t have time for a long review but the writing was really good. And a DDlg in a mafia? Yes please!
-Possessive & protective H -Sees her at a chance meeting in a S club (only moment there) they talk and that’s it. He’s done for. He doesn’t get involved with her to protect her but of course he has to now all about her. He gets her security at her apt upgraded, gets her a better job within his territory and basically does all he can to car for her from a far -all the mafia goodness you’d love in a mafia romance -h is sweet. She’s basically been taking care of herself and sister most of her life. -H is dominate and sexy as sin -daddy kink (she calls him daddy) -Mild/light DDlg… lemme explain this more for those who don’t normally like this. This has all the good daddy things like. Taking care of her by:hand feeding her, bathing her, he picks out her clothes, and he dominates her. He calls her little girl, little one. There is NO adult diaper play type stuff. -HEA-HFN
Excited to read the side characters and will probably check out her other daddy stuff. Really loved this mafia DDlg stuff.
what the fuck, i dont mind the daddy/baby girl thing but his friends AND his brothers acting like “DADDIES” towards her? too much. also her sister is KIDNAPPED and all she wants to do is fuck him and make bracelets … make it make sense
I had a difficult time settling on a rating for this book. I really liked Cali and Declan and their relationship together. I also liked all of the side characters. I read the second book first so it was nice seeing more of the other members of the mafia and learning about them. With that being said, my first complaint is more of an annoyance. Cali just repeats certain phrases over and over again and it becomes so tedious and repetitive. Like, "Snitches get stitches" and cutting off someone's finger or toes to feed to the fish. The joke is that she reads too many mafia book and while this is funny considering that this is a mafia book, it was just the same two jokes on repeat throughout the entirety of the novel. Second is just personal preference. I wanted the book to feel somewhat darker and like it had higher stakes. Based on the synopsis I expected Cali to be taking a chance and entering into a deal with the devil sort of situation. But Declan just ends up sort of whisking her out of her life as soon as she mentions the situation with her sister. There is tension on the fate of the sister but I guess I wanted more tension on the relationship between Cali and Declan.
