I have everything that I could possibly want—money, power, and success. The only thing I’m missing is the one thing that every omega needs: a pack.

My best friend and co-founder, Tessa, and I have made our company a success by creating apps for fellow omegas. Knotted allows omegas to find alphas for one-time assistance with their heat, and Mated allows omegas to search for their forever packs in a safe environment. But now it’s time to expand our brand with Heated—an experimental reality television show that will follow an omega who is closing in on their heat as they try to choose amongst suitors who want to be a part of their pack. Because who wouldn’t want to have their struggle to find a pack televised for the masses to see?

Deciding to kill two birds with one stone by launching my career to the next level while also getting my friends and family off my back—I will be the first omega on Heated.

With only eight weeks until my heat, I didn’t realize how overwhelming it would be to be constantly surrounded by twenty hot, willing men who are all vying for my attention while also trying to run the show from behind the scenes. I can't seem to allow the people I hired to do their jobs—after all, I’m the only one I can trust besides Tessa, right? Because if this fails, it’s all on me.

Can this control freak omega learn to let go and find her pack? Or will Heated prove to be Bree’s first and greatest failure?

DNF at 50%. This book suffers from what the real Bachelorette suffers from… too many characters who end up feeling same-y. And the accents… yikes. Look, it’s fine to say someone has a Russian accent, Scottish accent, or Southern accent… but these guys are like the cartoon versions. An author can just tell me someone has an accent… they don’t have to try to write the sounds out.

The sex scenes felt cringe. There was not enough set up or chemistry to dive right into that on day 2.

okay, so...

I loved the concept, even though I've never watched the bachelorette or bachelor, but this was a lot. There were so many guys. I kept going back to make sure I was keeping them straight in my mind. I got invested in guys that just ended up getting cut. My biggest pet peeve was that I feel like ended up not getting enough of the interaction between Bree and the guys she chose for there to be a real deep connection. Except maybe Emmett. The other guys she only went on like one date with, though she did have sexual interactions with them. But again, it just seemed like more physical than emotional. So, I'm left feeling just "meh" after reading a 500 page book. Unfortunately, the only reason why I have interest in maybe reading the next one is that I might see some of the males that didn't make the cut in this one.

Listen, I don't usually let something so minor affect me, but the accents made my skin crawl. They were so bad! First of all, you should never write ~in~ the accent, like what?? That's just bad writing, and it also feels super weird to read. A simple, he had a slight accent where he rolled his 'r's, and then every once in a while, reminding the reader that he has a Russian accent is all you need. Russian accents don't have the 'th' sound like 'z.' It bothered me so much that I could not ignore it. Also, the southern accent... like with 20 men, I know you need to differentiate them somehow, but I'm from the south, and I've never in my life heard anyone talk like that. It was so cringe-worthy.
For that reason alone, I had to stop reading, and it took us over 100 pages just to get past the first scene. We also didn't need a POV for all of the suitors. It confused me, and I constantly had to go back and be like okay...who is this one? I think just Bree's POV would've been fine, at least to get us through that first scene 50 pages sooner. Maybe introduce a few of the men later as she forms the pack, but it's too much all at once, especially when they don't all end up staying.
Also, for the setup of the book to be super futuristic, and a whole society being rebuilt, just to have the same culture and mannerisms. Like, I get trying to justify why designations became a thing, but if you're going to create a new "post-apocalypse" society, maybe make it different to 2020s life? I don't know, maybe no one else was bothered by that, but it stuck in my head for a while as I read this.

wow

I have never once said to myself “you know what I would really like to read right now? A reality tv transcript with added commentary from participants” but here it is. I read it.

I think the idea was unique but hated the execution. The repetition in the beginning, the POV from characters that weren’t meant to stick around, the lack of depth to most characters, and for the love of god there is a major difference between a strong female character and an asshole who places themselves on every single moral high ground with out any concessions for others.

She decries bullying but treats anyone who does something that upsets her as if they are two years old or beneath her. I don’t think she needed to fix anyone else’s problems and I certainly don’t think she had to keep suitors she did not connect with. I do think she needed to tell them how their behavior was affecting her without immediately making demands for them to complete certain actions by a certain time or else. They are not children, if you calling out their shit behavior does not lead them to seek ways to correct it or at least have a dialogue about it then kick them out.

I really liked the premise of this book. Most parts were really good but I think it could have been shorter. A lot of characters to keep up with as she chooses her pack. The ending felt a bit rushed but it was a decent book. Interested to see who is in the next book.

● A few of the participants have some sort of mental illness issue like OCD (Dominic) and depression (Hudson). You do get to see that in these writings a bit and that could be triggering for people so check the CWs ●

Thoughts: omegaverse reality bachelor style show?? Yes please.

•So at about thirty percent I kind of got bored with the repetitiveness of the book. i understand she had the meet the people but a lot of the things she was saying was repetitive or bringing up the same thing with internal dialogue to themselves. I also noticed that this happened a few times one right after another and I think it might be an editing issue because I noticed that a few other mistakes are spelling wise.

• I also find it interesting how stella jumps to conclusions so quickly without even thinking about the issue or having time to process it. Which I find interesting because she's called herself a control freak multiple times in the book.

• 50% in And I find I don't really care that much about Bree. Nothing in the story has really actually drawn me into you care about her. You don't really get to learn much about her other than the same things over and over again.

• Typing in the accent was a little much in this book and kind of brings you out of the story. I think it heart it more than helped it. I think that adding in saying or words in their native language would have been better than typing with the accent in mind.

SYNOPSIS:*These are ultimately for me so I can remember what the books are about quickly*

This book follows Bree an Omega who is 32 and owns an omega verse dating/mating/knotting apps To help people find significant others or people to help them through their heat she owns this company with her Alpha friend Tessa. Both do not have a pact because they chose to put their career first. They had the idea of creating a Reality dating show like the bachelor. they have twenty guys in different groups or singles who well the window down to five that will be in a breeze pack.
. You follow her meeting every single guy slash pack and she does this in the first 150ish pages/30% of the book.

The first pack to go is Pack Astor which is the second to last group she Meets. the reason that she lets them go is that she herself it's a control Freak and she did not think that would mess well with Dominic's need to be in control because of his OCD BUT She also men other seasons of the show if it does well and I expect we'll probably see them and one of the other books in the series. Bree Tell them a bit about why she needs control including the fact that her mother who was in a mega and one of her father who is an alpha used to use the alphabet to control her and her three beta fathers. Then she got into two messy relationships. Owen because he very stand offish and he says that the only reason he applied for the show is that his manager told him that it would look good. The first day ends at about 40% or 200 pgs in. So she's down to 15 on day 2.

So soon after this point, I DNFd about 50% in.

This is a weird one. It's rare that something so badly paced and characterized is so well written in terms of readability. There are multiple issues, but if they aren't big issues to you, you will probably enjoy this book. I certainly enjoyed parts of it.

First, as many other reviewers have mentioned, you don't ever spell out an accent and this author tried three. It was not fun to read.

Every part of the house is described in excruciating detail, as are clothes and appearances, in spite of the 2 dozen characters. Just because one character is describing the carpets to another character doesn't make it interesting. We get tremendous info dumps on backgrounds as well, including what must have been a half hour speech about the FMCs past relationships that is barely relevant going forward.

The FMC herself comes across as a very, very unlikeable person, controlling and selfish, and not at all suitable for the men she chose... a group of free-wheeling tattoo artists with a control freak business woman? Yep that's definitely gonna end well.

And alongside that is the fact that there's absolutely no punch to her interactions with the men because there's nothing at stake. She doesn't come across as needing them at all except for superficial reasons (she says more than once the major thing she wants from a pack is sex), so I feel nothing when I'm told they are hot and want her. Who cares? It feels like she could just discard this lot in time for the next season.

I'm not even going to discuss the pointless apocalypse scenario at the start. Or maybe that can explain why the accents are all so bad? Somehow after 200 years and billions dying we ended up in an identical modern world except Russians now talk like D list Bond villains and graphic gratuitous sex is apparently fine on a TV show where they've already said they'd have to bleep any word bluer than 'darn'.
It might also explain the many many holes in the narrative. The author should probably have researched how reality shows work behind the scenes because this would have made for extremely dull TV.

Probably OK porn though.

The other issue is that this is supposed to be a why-choose but the whole point is she's going to have to choose. I honestly read RH because I don't like so-called second male lead syndrome, so I was dismayed that a lot of the choices in this seem valid and there's a lot of angst in the long, long, drawing out of their demise. The fact that the narrative is treating them all as valid is an interesting gamble but doesn't really work for the genre or the pacing. For example, it added nothing to have a chapter in Owen's POV when he spelled out his motives later anyway.

Finally the pacing is just awful. At almost 50% into a 750 page book we're only two days into a supposedly 8 week show and already 7 contestants down. Half the point of OV is the fast burn romance aspect. The author should have just made the show a week-long thing and had done with it. But then very little of this feels like OV. None of the alphas seem to care much when she's physically attacked, or when she has sex in front of them. Aside from her treating the betas like stereotypical gay besties/servants there's not much to the designations in this book. It might as well just be a generic RH.

All that said, it's still a fun read in parts. Just pretend the FMC isn't a Mary Sue and skim a lot (A LOT) and enjoy.

The Bachelorette meets omegaverse in this reality show one omega is looking to find her pack from 20 suitors.

At one point I wanted Bree to be like a Pokémon master and catch all the alphas/betas but then I could see why that wouldn't work. Each of the men have their own personalities and backgrounds that don't all mesh well with each other or even Bree. It was unrealistic to think she's getting all of them and by the end I was glad she didn't.

Typically when there's books with multiple potential love interests you can usually tell who is going to end up with the fmc. This one did a very good job of leaving you guessing. Plus each of the men get their own POVs at some point so you can't even narrow it down that way. She did a really good job of making each of them different and I have no idea how she'll be able to keep it up for the next books. All I know is I'm going to be snatching up the books the minute they're available.

I wasn't sure what to think when I started this one. The beginning felt very dragged out and we are introduced to a lot of characters. It gives The Bachelor/Bachelorette meets fantasy vibes. There were some really cheesy points that had me cringing a bit. It definitely gets very spicy and the writing gets a little better towards the end. But on the whole the book wasn't what I was expecting and I felt a little let down.

very slow…

2.5 / 5.0 but I will round up to 3 stars because it’s not bad, just so slow… so so so slow…

some of the suitors have drastic personality changes when their times come, some are hyped and then left to flitter in the wind before being cut, and it’s obvious who will be the chosen few by the half way plot of the book. There is spice but it’s a little meh, like 3 / 5 🌶️ and not very imaginative.

Until next time

This is a book that I swore wouldn't work - a take on The Bachelorette, with 20 suitors, most of which get their own POVs? Really? I found myself getting sucked in, though, and got through all 500+ pages in two days flat.

The good:

- Bree isn't going on this journey alone - her company is behind the show concept, and her best friends are there in the roles of producer and host. If it were a more serious program the close relationships wouldn't fly, but it works well here and allows Bree to vent and connect when she needs to.

- I like how pack dynamics matter, and the guys have to figure out if they're compatible with each other, not just the omega.

- While the heroine worries about being slut shamed it's always countered with a, 'who the fuck cares?' Amen.

- There's a range of sexualities, from bi and pan guys to straight guys to a guy who is allosexual and aromantic with men. There are also side characters that are this universe's analog to trans, transitioning between the alpha/beta/omega designations.

- I found myself rooting for a bunch of the guys, even while...

The not-so-good:

- ...I had trouble keeping them all straight. Binging the first half of the book went a long way in helping my memory but by the end, despite efforts made to make them distinguishable, my mind gave up.

- Every author's omegaverse is different, much like every author's take on vampires is different, and I was confused about the details. What is a "normal" pack size? And here knotting isn't much of a deal, while in other books I've read it's a huge emotional turning point in a relationship. Some hints in the worldbuilding would have been nice.

- Despite this book being set 200 years in the future after a huge, world-changing event it felt like a contemporary paranormal. Dates by a lake are timeless, but others - at a club, going to an escape room - made me forget when and where I was.

Overall the writing is solid, I liked the ending, and it held my interest throughout. In that sense the experience was much like watching a reality show - fun with personal drama, enjoyable while you're in it, and great for days you'd rather not tax your brain.

The next book, covering another season of the show, is coming out soon and I'm looking forward to it.

Knot My Reality is the first book in a series of standalone, Omegaverse romance novels in a shared world by Miranda May.

Bree is an older, but by no means old, Omega woman in search of a pack. She also happens to be half of a dynamic team of women who own an entertaining app that allows Omegas to meet compatible Alphas. The two turn this genius idea into a ‘Bachelorette’ type reality show and Bree becomes the first contestant.

Twenty Alphas and Betas will vie for the chance to win Bree’s affection and a place in her pack. Omegas are scarce in the world and to have one is truly a rare gift. Some of the men treasure their opportunity and some squander it.

This was a unique and absolutely delightful spin on an Omegaverse romance. The Omega was absolutely in charge of her own destiny. I loved the characters of Bree and Tessa and the close female friendship they shared even being different designations. Reginald was divine and I want him to be my bestie. The guys revealed themselves more slowly since we got to know so many of them but I was smitten. I hope to see some of them get future books of their own. Fun read.

SPOILERS - ignore if you must.

I’ll be honest and skipped a good majority of the book so I could get to the last third of the book.

It’s hard because I get attached to characters and then to have their POVs just for them to not be chosen would wreck me a little which is why I skipped a lot of it hahaha.

I will say that the most of what I read really did seem more centered around the chosen Beta and not around Bree at all. It seemed more of a story for him and the connections he made and those that care for him. And the whole cheating situation not even being handled properly and how she states she doesnt care because they didn’t communicate about him sleeping with others was so underwhelming and should have been more of a problem. Considering the beta was her mate and that they were bonded. Just gross.

Really the pack was built for the beta with people he cheated on the FMC with and she’s just magically okay with it. Let’s be so for real right now.

I only started this because I want to read knot our reality and I didn’t know if we had to read the previous ones before. Otherwise I would have and should have skipped this one.🥲

Chosen pack dynamics: MMMMMMF.

Knot my Reality By Miranda May is an omegaverse paranormal romance. This story was very original in the sense that the female lead, Bree, has her own company and decides to start a reality show to pair up mates between omegas and Alpha/Betas. The real catch was she decides she is the first omega contestant. I honestly have not read a story line like that so this was very original and entertaining.
I enjoyed the characters and their development. The plot was great with the right amount of romance and steam. It was just a great story with a good ending for the main character.
I definitely recommend checking this book out. I know I am ready to jump into book 2!

DNF @ 53% This was my first omegaverse and I just don’t think it’s for me. I thought maybe I’d like it since I like shifter romance, but some of the terms used in this genre give me the ick so it’s just not for me. On top of this the book was a little slow and with 20 suitors it was just too much to keep up with. I did skim through to find out she picked 5 of the guys I had picked out by 50% and only one that I didn’t.

Oh my... I feel like one of those elderly ladies who regularly needs to fan herself to deal with hot flashes. Can reading a book make someone turn into an omega? Because I could swear I felt a Heat coming up while reading this book...

I had high hopes for this book when I read the blurb months ago, but Miranda honestly exceeded all of my hopes and expectations with this standalone. The entire setting is amazing, and I loved the idea of a why choose novel where the fmc still has to make a choice. I mean, I don't think I would have objected if she ended up with a harem of 20 but I can imagine that might be a little much... I loved the similarities with the Bachelorette, but I swear this novel is a hundred times better than that show ever was.

And then: the men. Oh boy, the men... So many of them stole my heart (and a bit of my sanity). I'm not sure I would have ever been able to make a choice if I had to, but it all fits so well at the end. I absolutely can't wait for more books in this universe! I highly recommend everyone to read this one, especially if you're a fan of Omegaverse, but even when it's not your favorite trope (like me) I'm pretty sure you'll love it.

I really enjoyed this entire story! I absolutely loved the Bachelor style concept of building a pack and I loooove who Bree ended up choosing as her pack mates!

This book was spicy and delicious and I loved the group scenes! I really appreciated that Bree was such a strong female character and felt that the story did a great job of portraying consent and dealing with a variety of mental health issues.

I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!

I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC and release day can't come soon enough so that I can get my hands on a physical copy!

Have you ever had someone start singing a song to you as a joke, and you laugh... but then they keep singing and it gets really awkward the longer it goes on, but they are committed to it so you just grimace and begin to dissociate while wondering why this is happening?

Welcome to Knot My Reality, where nearly 140 pages are dedicated to introducing every goddamn, repetitive detail of each and every one of the twenty freaking suitors on this reality show from all of their POVs -them arriving, meeting Bree, being interviewed, being told how the evening will proceed, being shown to the game room... one after another, over and over and over and over and over and over (is it awkward yet?).

It's like the bastard child of 50 First Dates and Groundhog Day except with none of the cute, romantic, or comedic components.

Perhaps you're thinking maybe, just maybe, that's not so bad because we'd be able to experience more depth to their characters early on. Well, I sincerely hope you enjoy being TOLD everything, because the reader isn't "shown" piddly shit, and even then, trying to excavate the bread crumbs of unique information being TOLD to us amongst the sheer amount of repetition is like trying to collect only black grains of sand on a white sand beach.

And just in case those things aren't enough, the author takes a blind, drunken stab at writing in accents. Hope you weren't immersed in zee ztory, beecuz vee arrrr aboat to git gyanked oat off eet.

STAAAHP. I'm so tired.

So, yeah, I just couldn't do it. I'm 200 pages in and it feels like I'm trying to do a pull-up after not doing one for 20 years... hanging there grunting while I struggle just to reach halfway. I shouldn't have to expend this much effort to get through a romance.

So many thoughts…

Ok so this was the longest and most different OMV I’ve ever read. A+ for originality. But it was also, extremely hard to keep up with the amount of men until it was thinned out at the last part. With so many side characters it’s very hard to focus on them and actually remembering them and differentiating them. Also, the first 30% was super repetitive with them repeating the entire science with each introduction, like seriously that was too much and took up so much time during the introductions.

Now I have to say this, I seriously love and seek out strong FMC because I hate pushover FMC. However, even given Bree’s past and her history, I could not excuse her blatant witchy behavior. She was just awful. She was not kind except during certain times. She was super rash and judgmental and even I felt she was abusive to certain characters. She emasculated several men during the process and had a horrid temper. You know the very thing she didn’t want in a partner…smh. I tried to make excuse after excuse but she was so selfish and bossy not assertive plain out mean and self centered. I don’t feel like she cared about her pack mates as she should have.

Also, the cheating situation was appalling. I have never ever read that happening in and omegaverse story much less immediately after bonding. It was sickening and took away from so much. I was seriously so disappointed the author put that into the story. It cheapens the entire experience and supposed bond they had.

And then after the longest book ever when it comes to the end and the HEA…it’s the most incomplete and rushed part! Which read as super lazy and the author just giving up. That was so not ok.

Closer to a 2-star but rounded up.
+ 1 for a unique and interesting premise, it’s the only Omegaverse (or why choose in general) that I’ve ever seen utilize the idea of a dating show.
+ 1 for Emmett
+ 1 for the name drop of one of my favorite author’s series.

(-) 100+ page of purely introductory scene. No, seriously, it’s over a hundred pages of Bree just greeting the guys. It was tedious after a certain point.
(-) AUTHORS, PRETTY PLEASE DO NOT WRITE OUT ALL THE ACCENTS INTO THE DIALOGUE. The cringe level was absolutely suffocating particularly with the Scottish and Russian “accents”. It was painful. It was difficult to not DNF the book once those became part of it.
(-) Timeline is allegedly 200 years in the future? But it’s not really referenced beyond mentioning “old” pop culture/one book reference. Nothing in the entire plot is indicative of the future, not even the tech. The references, descriptions of things, the looks of the guys, etc., are all very 2018-2022 at most. So, that just felt unnecessary to even bring up a future society.

I really wanted to love this (especially since book 3 has bi fmc/ff rep and that’s so rarely handled in OV), but it left me struggling. I’ve never skimmed/skipped so many awkward spicy scenes before 🥲

This was such a cute romantic story. I absolutely love all the characters. They were very different from each other but still perfect together.

My favorite people though have to be Belles friends. They were all so supportive and genuinely happy for one another. Everyone Definitely needs friends like them 🫶🏼

Belles guys were also incredible. Especially when it came to helping her come out of her shell a little more and help her build her confidence. You can definitely see her changing little by little as the story goes. I LOVED how they were so big on consent. There was not one thing they did without asking her how she felt about it.

The only thing i would have liked to read more of was the guys friendship. They've been friends for years and I would have liked to just see them together at least have a dinner and
talk you know.

Also a big part of the book was her magic. I wish we got a little bit more with that. Yes it was mentioned at the end thats shes learning to control it and learning spells and stuff but it would have been nice to actually read about her experiences with it. It was kind of rushed over at the end.

Pleasantly Surprised

So, I want to start this off by saying how much I loved this book overall. It is such a unique way to write an Omegaverse story and I can say that I was kind of surprised how much I enjoyed it. I am not really one to watch or enjoy any sort of reality Tv so I will admit that I kind of put off reading this just because I felt as though it would simply be filled with petty drama as a lot of reality shows seem to be, however once I started it I found that wasn’t at all the case.

For those who also have concerns about the reality tv part of this, let me put you at ease and tell you how well I think it was handled. There was some drama but it was not drawn out or any sort of he said she said kind of thing that leads to people screaming and storming out. The FMC, Bree, handled all the unexpected events with some of the suitors maturely and made sure she stood by who she really was the whole time, even when she struggled with allowing herself to present some sides of her.

Another concern aside from drama was the way suitors are sometimes treated or released from the show. My main concern was that I would become too invested in one of the suitors and then have them not be chosen by Bree. I liked how the majority of the suitors were released with compassion and with the promise to them and the readers that even if they do not appear in a future book or season of the show that they will find some sort of happily ever after. It also helped that as the show progressed, I got a feel for who would actually make good mates for Bree and who would most likely be chosen so I wasn’t left as heartbroken when it was revealed who all was going to be a part of her pack. Overall, I find that it was all handled very well and I was left with a happy feeling instead of heartbreak by the end of it. I also look forward to seeing who or if any of these suitors will make any reappearances in future books.

Now onto some of my slight disappointments or critiques I guess of the book. Don’t be too concerned as there isn’t much. There wasn’t nothing that was really horrendous or took me out the story so much that I couldn’t get back into it so there wasn’t anything that I found really wrong or that I didn’t understand the point of.

Warning for possible spoilers ahead in some parts, nothing overly big but read at your own discretion!

So the only major hurtle for me with this book was in the beginning when the show was beginning and introductions were being made. I felt that it was too long and repetitive so I kept leaving and coming back to it later. I felt it could have been condensed a bit, especially into less PoVs, such as simply keeping it in Brees PoV and then having the suitors go over their feelings on the meeting briefly as the book goes on. I, however, understand how the way it was set up allowed the reader to get to know the characters and the reasons for them being there, especially those who were only there briefly. It did help in some ways to set it up, but it was a lot of information and I kept getting names, jobs, etc mixed up since it was all compacted together. I also understand how for the storyline, this was the very first season of the show and how Bree was working to fine tune the show for future omegas. So, it makes sense that not everything in the show would be smooth and Bree even mentions multiple times how she doesn’t exactly enjoy the way the initial meetings were set up so this may mean it will be different in future books.

Once I got past the introductions I was able to get into the story a lot better and didn’t find myself setting it aside all that often. So, if you are unsure because you are still at the beginning, I am telling you to push through as it gets better from there and try to be understanding of the overall reality show plot.

There were some other little minor things that drew me out of the story a tiny bit such as the giant trauma dump Bree does near the beginning of the book. I understand some of it was necessary but I think that in reality, not many would be willing to put all of that out there on live tv and to pretty much complete strangers so I found it unrealistic. This is just my opinion so I am sure others will disagree but I just thought that Bree could have simply shared parts of her story and everyone would still be understanding and then throughout the story she could reveal the missing pieces to some of the suitors.

Just another teeny tiny thing that stood out to me as inconsistent was in the initial bonding bites Bree gives to her first alpha(s). In her previous bonding bite scene, she had stated how she wanted all of her bonding to take place in the nest so that it was not filmed in any way which I agree with, however, in the next bonding scene, it was stated that they went into the bedroom for it where there were cameras.

In the end I highly recommend this book and will be reading the next and possibly other future ones in the series.

Go read the fun, gif-ied review on my blog. Click on the banner above.

DNF @ 32% (read chapters 1-9).

I've never actually watched any reality television dating shows, but I have watched shows like UnReal or Love is for Suckers that revolve around that concept from the production point of view (highly recommend both, btw), so I was considerably excited and quite looking forward to a book crafted along those lines, but made all the more delicious and spicy by the addition of the omegaverse trope.

Sadly, this was an epic fail for me. The writing was simply atrocious. The "meet the bachelors" portion was absolute TORTURE to get through. The same conversations got rehashed again, and again and again. Not to mention it was all pure, undiluted info-dumping. There was zero "showing" it was all just very clumsy, rough "telling".

"Once you have all arrived, Bree will join all of you in there and spend some time with all of you before we do our first rose ceremony. I'm sure you have questions about the rose ceremony since it wasn't in the packet. I won't be answering as Bree will explain the ceremony to you[...]"

[...] Then she explains the next part of the process—waiting in the game room, time with Bree as a group, and then something about a rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

"Then Bree will come spend a couple of hours with all of you before we move to the ballroom where we'll hold the first rose ceremony" [...] "Rose ceremony?" "Don't worry, you'll learn about it with the others tonight. It was Bree's idea, and we wanted to allow her to be the one to explain it to you"

[...]she explains how the rest of the evening will play out, even mentioning something about a rose ceremony that I assume I'll read about in the packet or it'll be explained at some point.

Tessa nods, explaining how the evening will progress, explaining that the night will culminate in a rose ceremony that will be explained to us later.

She goes over the schedule for the evening—the game room with the suitors until we all arrive, and then Bree will join us. Then something about a rose ceremony that will be explained to us.

She gives me a synopsis of what to expect for the rest of the night, which will end with a rose ceremony, and apparently Bree will explain it to us.

She gestures to a beta male who waves before proceeding to go over the plan for the evening, which will end in some kind of rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

[...]letting me know he'd be taking me to the game room. After that, we'll spend some time with Bree as a group before some kind of rose ceremony that Bree will explain to us.

"Hector will show you to the game room, and I'll bring Bree up as soon as she's ready. Then she'll spend time with all of you before the rose ceremony, which she will explain later".

"Then you all will head to the ballroom for the rose ceremony. Bree will explain the importance of each of the roses [...]"

"[...]Once I'm done with each group, we'll head to the ballroom together for the rose ceremony. Don't worry if you have questions about it, as I will explain how the ceremony works then[...]"

I don't typically DNF books, but I hope these quotes have shed some light on why this one in particular made me want to put my head through a wall. I just can't cope with this level of terrible writing.

This is the first book in a stand alone series and if this one is anything to go by then we are not going to be disappointed. It’s hard to believe that this is Miranda Mays first omegaverse book as it was so well written and encompassed the omegaverse so well. This book leaves you wanting more and you can’t wait to see what else is come from this author in this genre.

So what do we get from the book:

🖤 Strong, independent fmc
💜 Why choose romance
🖤 Reverse harem
💜 Hot mc
🖤 MM scenes
💜 Group sex
🖤 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

There may be some triggers for some readers but the author does cover this at the start so check it out and if you have no issues then I say jump on in to Knot My Reality.

What happens when your other side shows it self and your designation is that off an Omega - the norm is for you to find your pack and have children, but what if that’s not what you want, you don’t want the norm you want everything. Your a strong, independent female that wants more from life.

Meet Bree an omega who along with her bff Tessa (an alpha) launch Fated Industries and through this launched their first app Knotted and then mated, which brings them to now - their new experiment driving their brand forward with Heated - a reality dating show were the omega chooses their pack from 20 suitors. What better way to test this new show out than to use Bree an omega looking for her pack. Bree has always relied on her level headiness to help to get along in life but what will happen when she discoveries that to get through the reality show and to pick her pack mates she needs to rely and open up to her omega side.

Bree meets each suitor for approximately 10 minutes and in that time we see a mixture of hot alphas, a@@hole alphas and not in a good way, bonded beta and alpha, sweet alphas, bonded pack mates etc. Each suitor has their own personality and as the weeks goes in we are drawn into this story like we are actually watching a reality tv show. I felt myself cheering own certain suitors and booing others and hoping for redemption from others. Each suitor brings something to the mix that would work in a pack environment and also work for Bree but who will she choose and how many will form her pack.

This story is so well written not only from Bree’s perspective but the suitors and then to add in the concept of a reality show. Miranda brought this story alive in my eyes and the steam is just 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Can’t wait for more and intrigued if some of our suitors who aren’t picked make a reappearance.

Well, certainly has realty drama

I'm mixed on how I feel about this. It had things I like and things that, well, I didn't. Its definitely based off the bachelor premise and has all the fun things about reality dating shows with a ton, megaton, of steamy scenes. If you like as many steamy scenes as possible, and loads of sword crossing, this is for you.
Free was interesting, her back story and her character were fun to read.

Could be considered spoilerish.
Cons for me - I love multi POV and POV's of the guys, but asked we get every contestants POV, I didn't get as attached to any of the MMC's as usual and the page time seemed a little wasted to me. I didn't get the feeling of real, strong, relationships being formed
because there was so much going on.
Unpopular opinion probably, but I didn't like Emmett. He gave me annoying pick me vibes. This was basically what pack did Emmett want to pick, how many hot guys could Emmett get, oh yeah and I guess Bree could guest star every now and then. Bree just felt like a tool to bring the guys together as a pack. Outside of bringing the guys to one house so they could meet, they didn't seem to have much use for her. The POV's from the guys involved with Emmett were so very very concerned about making sure he was in their pack(future pack?) and then would.occasionally think about Bree and that they should get to know her and get her to choose them all or none of them because then they would at least leave with everyone they wanted. Ummm what??? what about Bree, do you not truly want her too, because that's how their POV came off to me! Isn't the entire premise of the reality show about mating the omega-Bree? about creating Bree's pack? It just really seemed like she was a side character on her own show and a side piece to her mates. It also seemed like the decisions on who to choose were being forced by Emmett and what he desired, even unintentionally..so really, its Emmett's pack.

In regards to the TW in the beginning, I was underwhelmed by the conversation that happened. She essentially took all the blame and no one ever really discussed how it happened or how they felt about it. Everyone involved had extreme reactions and guilt, which just shows me that they knew what they were doing was wrong and it just was not handled well from any of the parties. Bree just kind of rug swept it.

Interesting Take 🖤

I went into this blind and am both glad and disappointed that I did. Let me explain why.

While I enjoyed reading it as if I were watching a reality tv show, I feel a few kinds of ways about how long it dragged out with the repetition of meeting the suitors and rereading the processes in the beginning. Not to mention the absolute desperation I felt for a really good editor when there were like 500 pages of repetitive sentences (not exactly the same sentence over and over again, but essentially saying the same thing in different ways multiple times) or over-usage of a word in one sentence or paragraph.

Example: “Emmett is a highly sought after CHEF who is currently the head CHEF at Lyrical.” As opposed to writing something like, “Emmett is a prominent figure in the Foodie World as the head chef at Lyrical. He’s highly sought after by many competitive restaurants in the Los Angeles area.”

And it happened so much throughout the story that it took focus off of the good parts of the book as I was reading.

Please note: That’s totally a personal pet peeve and shouldn’t in any way impact your choice on reading the story, just some (hopefully) constructive food for thought—no pun intended—for the author and her editor in the future if she reads her reviews 🖤

I almost never rate or review my reads unless they are 4 stars or above—at least imo—because I’d never like to discourage an author. Anything negative stated is only my opinion to hopefully help better one’s work. Not because I’m an expert or anything, but because I can definitely see so much potential for this series.

Now for the good parts, because ending on a good note is the best thing I can do here. The shmexy scenes were hot AF! The author did an amazing job writing them and if you like mm+, it’s a solid book choice.

Another thing that was well done was getting the reader to fall in love with the MCs the same way one would when watching a show like The Bachelor—picking and choosing favorites based on the MCs personal characteristics. It was hard to see some of them go and it was intriguing to feel so immersed in the final outcome.

Overall I’d say this book was well thought out and uniquely written, as many game-show or reality tv tropes aren’t done so on-the-nose. I’ll likely read the rest of the series over time and think the author is doing a beautiful job.

I love Omegaverse, and after I have read another Bachelorette RH PNR themed series, I was hooked by the idea and the blurb. I haven't read another book of Miranda May, so she is a new author to me either.

Not only that, but I'm surprised in a very pleasant way by the experience. It not only has everything I love in Omegaverse, but is very thoughtful and believable written. The emotions and different POVs makes it a story, I felt deeply and loved all the same. That are the most important things, to make a book outstanding to me and a fan of the author.

The world around them was another plus in the books. Miranda May shows us the world around them. With many little details and information, so I could imagine it without any problems. It was really a life in experience in the entirety.

All characters were great. Bree, our Omega in the story, with her sass and wit, but with so much compassion and love. She cares so much about the guys. Even about some of them, who aren't chosen.

That was the hardest part of the story. I'm glad, it wasn't necessary to add more drama. The story had so many high emotions running, that it was sitting at the corner of my seat. I couldn't stop reading it, because I wanted to know who will be pack. At the same time, like Bree, dreading that the guys getting hurt. There were so many moments, I wished she doesn't have to pick. But that's the way it has to go. And I could understand, after the reasoning and reflecting the situations, why some just couldn't work. Sure, I was sad to let some guys go, because I could have imagined them in her pack. I know it was meant that way to make it so much harder. And I could understand why there had to be reasons why some just didn't fit, and everything was well thought over.

And I had to fan myself a lot, too. So many steamy moments. It was really an intense book.

But all of my favorite guys made it in the end. So, I'm glad it worked out! I hope we will see glimpses of Bree and her pack in the next book. I want to know about their future children and all. Though, seeing as Bree being a control freak, and it's her show, I'm sure we will at least see her! 😂😂

There is no way she is sitting it out. So, I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

First I would like to say I loved everything Miranda has written so far, but I have to admit I was a bit afraid to dive into this one, because I knew it would be hard for me to watch Bree choose between her suitors. It was obvious she can’t have 20 mates.
When I stopped putting off reading it I regretted not reading it sooner, because I loved it from the start and it’s a strong ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating for me.
It seemed like Miranda was leading us from the beginning to like the guys that would be choosed. I was right but I was also wrong and it was really hard to read the final choice. I wished she could keep all of the remaining guys. Because I adored them all 🥺
I loved Bree so much, she was a strong omega which isn’t seen much in Omegaverse. She was also caring and understanding and it felt really good to see her comforting and reassuring alphas. I feel like Miranda should get a big 👏👏👏 and an award for this, because finally someone has once again written “insecure” alphas. I’m not saying I’ve read every Omegaverse book there is, but I’ve read my fair share and it's rarely seen.
Saying all this, there were few things I personally couldn’t get over and had to take off one star because of them. For me there was definitely cheating and I think Bree shouldn’t have handled it how she did. It just didn’t feel right. I’m all in for fast burn reads but here? It again didn’t feel right for me. Someone with Bree’s past should be more wary and not be immediately intimate with so many suitors. That leads me to another thing I had a “problem” with. It didn’t feel right she was very intimate with suitors she didn’t pick at the end. This all is connected with the last thing I didn’t get and that’s not common in these kinds of books. She was okay with her mates being intimate with every suitor. Writing all this I know I have a problem with cheating, open relationship and choosing. But it’s a personal preference that shouldn’t keep people that are reading this review from reading the book. Because I don’t regret reading the book even a little and for most part I loved it.
