Truth by Ruben Huys, is a poetry, writing and quote collection that pulled the strings of my heart through its honesty and ethereal flair. There are 108 pieces in total and each of it is thought provoking and has a ring to it. They dance at the realms of consciousness, oblivion and beyond.

“Lost with who we are
Confused within ourselves
Raising all the bars
Neglecting our own health

Striving for success
With no true Love in sight
Dying for the fame
Rejecting our own Light”
- Routine, Truth by Ruben Huys

The book as a whole gives structure to the rawest and deepest feelings we all hold and makes us confront and introspect the reality. It instigated my mind and soothe both my tongue and soul. It brought me closer to my inner and spiritual self. Rendered with freshness and beauty this indeed is an inspiring collection that seeks truth through its pages and sets readers free.

Truly modern!

I read this book like I've been waiting and hungry for it. Seems like it has come at the time when the consciousness/light of the self is rising in the collective.

This is truly 'new age' poetry and essays. Thank you from the bottom of the heart🌸.

I would like to thank the author for gifting me a copy for an honest review! 'Truth' is a well structured collection that focuses on leading a moral life and striving to reach a truth that helps us live our lives with love and faith.

I really like the cover and thought all the poetry and prose was well laid out and every piece had a clear title. However, I found this book challenging in quite a few ways. It did seem a little rushed as there isn't a lot of the things you'd usually see in a book. For example, a dedication, 'about the author', acknowledgements, a blurb, social links etc. These are quite minor points but it does add to how professionally the book is presented. Also, every new line was capitalised which is something that can easily be corrected and if it was intentional there is no real impact behind this.

I felt that this book was preaching rather than guiding which put me off. Maybe people that have a religion or faith may enjoy this book more than I have but I still don't think people need to be preached to. I also didn't feel like there was any concrete images expressed throughout the poetry that would help the reader to relate to the writing. Everything was very abstract which made me feel pushed out rather than welcomed in to read. I also felt that some of the opinions couldn't be written about as if they are truths. One poem said that 'embracing our misery' is 'pathetic' which made me think about what we should do with our misery? Ignore it? Pretend it doesn't exist? You can't preach opinion and act like it's the truth.

There are also quite a few tense problems throughout and sentence structures could use some revision to make more sense. I didn't feel like a lot of the poetry flowed all the way through. It felt like it could use more editing to just get some of these problems corrected. I found it quite annoying after a while when particular words were capitalised, for example, Soul, Truth, Love, Life, Faith etc. Of course these are just my own opinions and I can see how many could get a lot out of reading this book but sadly this one isn't for me.

🍷Truth🍷
This is a very beautiful collection of poems by the author, most of poems focused on being straight or showing the reality to the readers. We all live in a world full of illusions and basically we pre assume so many things and concepts but the reality or truth maybe far away from what we actually assume. I love the basic concept of the book, it's very new yet it's so natural and seems so familiar. Here is my favourite paragraph of a poem from the book,

"In our heart resides the Spirit An eternal reflection of Light It’s just there Watching As a witness Whatever happens in Life."

Honestly, the poems are definitely unique and out of the world, they are so subtle and easy to read. I think this could be read by all types of people and people who aren't into poetry will also enjoy it because of it's simple nature, avid readers and poetry lovers will love it because of it's deep meanings and heart touching vibes that it gives out. The poems aren't based on any one particular topic but are scattered in all different directions. It's definitely a book that will be with you from the very beginning till the end. Definitely recommended.

One star more for the effort. The intention was…noble?

Reading this feels like a lecture but from someone who doesn’t fully understand what they’re explaining themselves.
Although the author keeps mentioning the words heart and love over and over and over(as if they’re trying to knock some more sense into them) they seem to fail to put some of these actually inside of his words.

I personally don’t enjoy texts (because most of this isn’t poetry) that have a very analytical character but maybe someone else gets it.
Though the author seems to mean well, what he writes comes across as quite judgemental and aggressive at times, contradicting with his initial intent.
Resulting in doing more harm than good in the end.

I see an overthinking idealist looking down on people.
I see lots and lots of repetition, toxic positivity and trendy terminology which he doesn’t elaborate on, which makes the writing even more flat.
There’s no need to talk about the poetry. It’s children’s rhymes, I’m so sorry but that’s it.
He used very simple language (fair enough) and repetition and first grade rhymes.
Honestly, I tried, but I didn’t enjoy this read at all.
I was glad it was over.

Truth is the debut book of the writer and poet Ruben Huys. This book is a collection of poems and thoughts that often cross our mind. This book is for those who want to walk on the path of self discovery.

That Day
When Your Public Image
And your true personality
Finally become one

You will feel complete

The poems and thoughts expressed in the book are so relatable and true. We often have the feelings/thoughts about ourselves to reach somewhere in life but we don't sincerely work on them to achieve our goals. We keep on making fake promises to ourselves about following some routine to achieve something but we fail to follow our plan after few days.

Simplicity, Confrontation, That Day, Satisfaction are some of my favorites from the book. This is the book that will motivate you from time to time. I have added it to my book shelf. I definitely recommend this to everyone. It's a gem.

Truth is a book of poetry, writings, and quotes by Ruben Huys. The author’s book contains verses and observations with titles that reflect the theme of the work. Some topics include self-discovery, love, doubts, growth, and the laws of man. The book opens with an introduction to the author and his reason for penning the material, and it closes with contents and a document outline that will allow the reader to flip back to the poems that were the most significant to them.
It’s impossible to read Truth without finding at least one richly detailed poem that defines you or helps you see a troubling issue in a new way! Readers will quickly understand that Ruben Huys wishes to gain truth and his words reflect his deepest feelings and insights. His perceptions are written in his poetry, but can also be found in his perspective pieces, where he describes his observation, and speaks to the reader with wisdom. The author’s poetry is strongly emotional, but thought-provoking, and readers will find a deep connection with Huys as they read his work. The depth of this book will resonate with and inspire readers long after they read the final page! I was blown away by his observational pieces and I connected with them the most. They reflected his emotional maturity and sage understanding of the world around him. Truth would be a great book for readers who are ready to grow and understand themselves better as they move along their own soul-searching journey.

Author Ruben Huys has written a beautiful book of poetry that explores the messages of our hearts. With courage and definite action, he has composed poems that will touch each reader - from personal identities, routines, emotions, actions, freedoms, and much more. It is a progression from a "coming of age" point of view to adulthood. There are plenty of poems to choose from, and the range of topics was significant. I recommend this poetry book to all ages, but mostly to young adults. Five of five stars for me! Thank you to the publisher via NetGalley for this arc. I voluntarily read this book and all opinions are my own.

Truth is a series of poems by Ruben Huys all of which look at different truths of life. All original poems looking at how we can look at life.

However, these poems missed the mark for me and felt more like someone preaching about truth and how we can best engage in the world. While many may enjoy these poems, unfortunately they were not for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Amazon for this ARC.

A MUST READ POETRY: TRULY AMAZING

"𝑩𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒍
𝑾𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆
𝑾𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍
𝑾𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆"

'Truth' is a compilation of poetries with some quotations and reflections in between which will provide you with the stimulus to move out of your existing gloomy state of mind or heart and get back in the orbit

Each poem takes you on a quest of self-introspection and expresses some of your anxieties, crises, feelings and fears with such clarity of words that you will not feel like reading it fully in a sitting.

Each poem, every line will grab your thinking and you will sit and meditate over the words written, which seem to be simple yet so deep, raw and elegant. Straight from the heart, the messages will touch your soul

The book talks about the truth, the actual joy and the genuine meaning that one needs to hold on in life but instead we are craving something else which end us into a state of war within ourselves.

I honestly loved each and every line of the book because it took me into the state of bliss while I was reading it

I read each poem thrice. Those words connected quickly with my heart and I was so relaxed when I read them. My heart said, "Hey! This is what you wanted to read, right?"

𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭.

Also, for a debut book, it's frankly a great piece of work.

Ending with yet another line,
"𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕"
