Thirteen-year-old Maureen Lindstrom has serious misgivings when her grandmother comes to live with her and her mother. They’ve never been close, despite living in the same town of Denton, Florida, where Maureen has grown up. Despite her hope that their relationship would improve, it doesn't start well and only gets worse.
Meanwhile, Maureen has a new friend, a boy named Nick, whose family has moved twice in the last three months, first from his lifelong home in California to Michigan, then to Denton. Worse, Nick is not allowed to contact friends from either place. When the reason for the sudden moves comes to light, tragedy ensues—a tragedy that leaves Nick wondering if life is worth the effort.
This poignant, honest, and reflective fourth book in the Twigs series continues to search for the meaning and rewards of love in its many forms.
I was so excited to find out that there was another book in the series. I read it quickly and it was just as good as the other books. Time has passed as we revisit the main characters and new characters are also introduced and they all collide for better or worse.
A touching multigenerational story. Most importantly for me, we see growth in the characters throughout the book.
I love the way Charles Tabb writes and how he develops characters and plots at just the right pace while keeping us wanting more. I read this book very quickly.
I hope there's another book in the series. If so, I will definitely buy and read it right away!
this is a great story for teenage girls or adolescent girls to read for them to understand that if something bad happens to them it’s not the end of the world. They will have plenty of time to get over it and see brighter times in the future.
I enjoyed the story and feel that I received some learning experiences out of it. The twig books all of them I read each one almost nonstop from front to back they hold your attention and you wanna know what happens next so in the last four days I’ve read all four of the Twig series books.
I loved this whole series. Each one sort of stood on its own but yet read them in order to gain the evolving of reoccurring characters. Jack is the main character and what a wonderful, kind, wise character, despite his awful early years. I became so attached to the main characters in each book and each brought some wonderful life lessons. I'm thankful for being guided to these books. They're appropriate for most age levels.
Another great novel in the Twigs series! Life has its twists and turns for each of us. We get touched by a thought, action or tragedy and we either act or react to it. This book has all the feels, emotions and memories that make for a great story. Family and friendships are the perfect motivators for this novel as well as greed, suspense and unimaginable grief. I loved it and when you read it, you will know why!
A 13-year old girl befriends a new male student that has just moved to town. He is very quiet, but finally tells her his family has moved twice in the last few months. He has not been told by his parents while the family has moved and has also been forbidden to contact his old friends. The girl tells him she will help him with an email address so he may contact his previous best friend. The results of this contact proves to be deadly.

I love the characters in this story. Each event is so real. You do write young peoples characters so well. The reflections about life in general and when things go bad are so true and very helpful to think about. I love this entire series. I love the lessons learned in each story. Forgiveness and expressing love are the things we all should do daily.
I have enjoyed all of the books in this series. At first I thought the author had too many storylines going but he did a wonderful job bringing it all together. I was not at all surprised to learn that he taught teenagers for many years since he was especially good developing the young people in this book.
Not the best of the Twigs series, a comfortable read but predictable. I am sure the story and the worthwhile lessons of growing up and maturing in a difficult relationship environment will find favor among YA readers.
Another fabulous adventure of a young girl and how she was affected by Jack Turner in learning the importance of family and friends. Seize the day… enjoy life everyday with those you both love and need and share that love with everyone!
I enjoyed his first book (Floating Twigs) more... I may not finish this one... Too contrived, parts of the plot was not logical... Example: If the cop was that bad a guy how did he become chief of police... or the way he did should have been part of the storyline.
It's such a pleasure to read this new Twigs book..each of them has been wonderful.. I'm amazed how smoothly Mr. Tabb connects each book and its characters to the previous book. I'll definitely look forward to the next one!
Mr. Tabb, you did it again! People out there in the Reading World: please read this book! You Won't Forget any of these Life lessons! Charles Tabb is Excellent at what he does! He IS a writer! Can I say this better than ******/ Stars! : )
I read all four in the series and each book was better than the last. Love the characters and the plots. Each book pulled emotions from me and could hardly put down anyone of them. Definitely needs to be on everyone’s reading list.
Please read all of the "Twigs" books! Each one gets better than the last! I love all of the characters in the books, and the complexities of each individual brings out the uniqueness of each person. I keep wanting to know more abouy all of the people!
I got hooked in this series, read all the books and wish there were more. I feel like I made friends with the people of Denton Florida. To me that is the very best kind of story and I will miss them.
I have enjoyed this series and understand the author is working on more. As the characters are aging (and some have already passed), I'm not sure how sequel books will hold up for me. This one almost didn't. But I'll give the next one a try.
This was a very good series, and any adolescent would love this too. It has so many emotions for me. I did not want to put it down. Some places I had to put it down cause it touched my heartstrings. I would recommend this series to everyone.
Charles Tabb you are a incredible author. Your talent is so much appreciated. This book is so very good. It really hits your heart and emotions. The characters and storyline are wonderful. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
This is a great book that slot of thought went into. Great thought provoking material and something I guess we should all strive to achive. Ill be looking for the next book in this series.
This story keeps you wanting to know what is next for each character. It is interesting to hear the story of Maureen’s life and know her connection to past characters.
I enjoyed this book so much! From the characters to the story. It was so interesting and I really got close to the characters. Maureen is a very smart girl and she really made you love her! I would recommend this book to everyone!
These stories have such complexity and depth. While you love, relate or just learn from the characters it helps you think and understand situations in your own life. Charles Tabb you are a wonderful author and story teller!
Characters were well developed and the different subject matters suicide, rejection and tragedy were handled respectfully I recommend this book highly..
This series is irresistible!!! I've read 2 books so far and can't wait for the next one. I even think about the plot and characters as I go about my day.
