Havoc Killed her Alpha

Rate this book
Never again will I be that little girl who dreamed of a pack to sweep her off her feet... I'm the omega who killed my alpha. The day I found my mates, I thought I'd found my home at last. Instead, I was kept from them and left to suffer. For months I clung to scraps of information, and I fell in love with each of them… Angel, Kai, Caspian and Bane. But when my worst nightmare came, I faced it alone. Found beside my alphas body, my pack has claimed me at last. But they're too late. Now I’m trapped in their home with them. My mates. But there’s no happily ever after, because it won’t matter to them if I had a choice or not. The man I killed was their pack brother, and they hate me for what I've done. And it’s up to these four men to decide my fate...
This is a spicy adult standalone HEA where the Havoc doesn't have to choose between lovers (MMFMM). It contains dark themes, adult language, intimidation, violence, and triggering situations detailed in front of the book. For mature readers.

This book has a good idea, but it’s delivered with such a chaotic execution that it made me assume this MUST be from a first-time author who doesn’t know how to tell a story. I’d be willing to cut her some slack and maybe give this 3 stars if this WAS her first book. But apparently it’s not! Apparently this mess comes from an experienced writer!

It’s an RH omegaverse, and the plot is exactly what the title says: the omega’s name is Havoc, and one of the alphas in her pack cornered her, kept her trapped in a room for a few months, and abused her, so she killed him. The other alphas in the pack had no idea that the evil one even found their omega, kept her from the rest of them, had her imprisoned (or that he was evil). So, they don’t trust Havoc and they think SHE’S the problem and the evil one (since they think she killed their pack brother randomly, for no reason).

That's a good concept! This has the potential to be angsty. But the way that this story unfolds is chaotic. So the angst didn’t land. It took me into 20% in to even feel like I had a lay of the land – who was who. This pack has some very specific dynamics: 2 of the guys are in an MM relationship within it. One guy is in danger of losing his “alpha aura,” (a bit of worldbuilding that is poorly explained). The only likeable guy (Bane) is an outcast in his own pack, and his pack brothers know very little about him even after living with him for YEARS. This isn’t clear why for a long time.

All of these things are revealed too slowly – not in a way that feels deliberate, like this plot is unfolding like a mystery. More like, this author does not know how to share all this information about the characters with the reader. If this was a series, it might be okay that the characters are established slowly. But for a standalone, the characters need to be established sooner, so that the reader can sit back and enjoy it, rather than being like, "Wait, who is who, and what's going on?" quite far into the story.

The story begins AFTER Havoc has killed the evil one, when she’s living with her pack of alphas and they’re trying to decide what to do with her. There are SO MANY italicized flashbacks to her time with the evil one before his death. Not only was this annoying, but it felt like a very amateur writing style. This story should have started earlier in the timeline, instead of doing all the italicized flashbacks. (We even get italicized flashbacks to the guys pasts too at some points - and it adds nothing to the story to give us the info in this way, and makes it feel even choppier).

Havoc doesn’t have much of a personality beyond being a doormat for the mean guy, being scared, and behaving irrationally. For a long time, when the guys ask her why she killed their pack brother, she gives them different answers. So, they think she’s manipulative. It’s hard to blame them! Even if she thinks they won’t believe the truth, why doesn’t she try telling it, and stick to her story so that it becomes clear she’s not lying? I don’t need a heroine to behave perfectly. But I DO need to understand her behavior. And Havoc’s behavior is just erratic.

It also gets tedious because even after they find out their dead pack mate was evil, they keep finding things out that he did and being all, “No way! Surely he couldn’t have done that!” These guys are kind of dumb, and not in a fun way.

The worldbuilding is muddled and incoherent. Usually in omegaverse stories, the world is the same as our real world, except that there are alphas, omegas, etc. Or sometimes, the worlds are more sci-fi. When an author doesn’t establish what kind of setting this is right away, I have no idea what to even picture, and it’s hard for me to get into a book. This one was very muddled. It seems to be set in the real world, but it also had supernatural elements – one of the guys is a seer, and one is losing his “alpha aura,” and it’s not really fleshed out what these things mean.

There's even simple stuff that's hard to picture - like, where the guys live is described as a house at one point, but later it suddenly has an elevator that neighbors are in, and it's an apartment. What?

There are also a lot of concepts that are revealed too late. Like, it’s supposed to be an angsty and dramatic moment when it’s revealed that one guy is a “rogue.” But it’s so unclear what being a “rogue” means in the context of this world. So, it just ended up being an info-dump of exposition about what that means. Why weren’t we told what a “rogue” is in this world sooner, so that we could feel the angst of that moment? The story is FILLED with stuff like that.

The writing itself is fine. There are even some interesting concepts in this that I haven't seen in other omegaverse reads. But this feels like a story that REALLY needed to be put through another draft or two. If it had been, it could have been good.

“You’re so beautiful when you cry, Havoc,” Logan’s voice sang in my head.

Havoc Saint is a gold pack omega who just killed Logan, one of her alphas. Seeing as she is a scent match for Logan’s pack, the police let the pack decide what to do with her, and they decide to take her home until they talk about it as a pack. The rest of the pack met her for the first time when she arrived at their home after killing their pack leader, so it’s putting it mildly to say that they hate her, but at the same time, she is their scent match, making is really hard to resist her. As they spend more time with her, and some flashbacks are revealed, we understand better what happened between Logan and her, and what pushed her to kill him in cold blood.

“I waited every night…” I tried to throw the words at him with hatred, but they just sounded as weak and pathetic as they were. He was all wrong. He wasn’t supposed to hurt me… “Y-you were supposed… to save me.”

The first 20% of the book was confusing, and I pushed through because I loved the author’s Sweetheart duology so much, I wanted to give this one a “fair chance”, but it took a while for me to get invested in the story. After the 20% mark though, the pace is good, and the story is engaging enough for this book to be a quick read despite being over 500 pages. Overall, it was an intriguing concept, but the execution was weak in some parts, and the first 100 pages felt chaotic.

I really like Havoc, she is cute and naïve, without seeming too childlike or immature. She lived a very sheltered life and has to navigate the reality of a big city now, with the movies she watched as a kid as her only referent. It created some funny moments, but again, she never felt like a child, simply a little naïve or unaware of some social basic skills, which made her cute and likable.

She was worried about Caspian, I knew that, but she didn’t understand something. The more you pissed Caspian off, the more likely he was to fall in love with you. … Or kill you.

The alphas were okay I guess… Honestly, I didn’t like them that much. I liked Kai’s intensity and slightly unhinged side, but I would have liked to know more about his power and his past. The 4 alphas all felt pretty shallow, despite us getting information about them and their past. I just never really connected with them. Caspian’s sudden change of heart annoyed me, and the fact that his shitty behavior was forgiven without any true groveling was disappointing too.

The pack of alpha was dysfunctional, as is often the case with these types of books, but contrary to Pack Darling of the Sweetheart duology, I didn’t feel true bonds or connection between the alphas here. Kai and Angel love each other, and it showed, but despite being told that Kai and Caspian shared a past and were like brothers, I didn’t feel it. Bane felt like a random addition that didn’t fit at all with the rest of the pack, and nobody made any effort to get to know him in all the years they’d been together. They didn’t just feel like a broken pack trying to save themselves, they felt like a bunch of random people living together because Logan brought them together, but having no interest in being together.

Overall, this was not my favorite book from this author, but I will still read her other works because I like the angst and the slightly different world-building she created with the different bonds and the gold pack omegas. It’s not a bad book at all, but I feel that it needs some extra editing maybe to render the plot less confusing in the first part of the book, and the love interests more likable in general.

It was ok.

You know when you read a book where the characters all create a plan, and as the reader, you know that it's a stupid plan from the start and it makes no sense, but you still have to observe the characters proceed with this awful plan and then be surprised when everything goes to shit? That was this entire book. I have no idea why the pack thought it was a good plan to wait until the ball to claim Havoc--it was dumb and served no purpose.

The first 35% of this book had a really confusing writing style that made it difficult to follow. Within the same chapter, the author was jumping between present and past timelines, as well as between different character POVs. I found it really confusing how they had flashbacks in the middle of a dialogue between 2 characters. If the author wanted to tell Havoc's story through flashbacks, that's fine, but it should have been done as separate chapters spaced throughout the book or else all at once. The way the author chose to do it made the writing seem choppy and confusing.

Also, I have no idea why Havoc didn't even try to tell anyone what happened to her until about 55% into the book. If these characters communicated just once, they could have resolved so many things. Additionally, sometimes, Bane or Kai would suddenly just know something about Havoc's past, and I was confused as to how they made the leap. I literally would have to reread pages because I was like, huh, how do they know that now? Just from gazing into her eyes?

Finally, the world-building was reaaally confusing. I've read my fair share of omegaverse, but this one was hard to follow. There were 2 different types of omegas, but 1 of them is bad (the gold pack omega--which sounds like it would be good, but apparently they're bad). You become a gold pack omega if you don't register with the omega institute once you perfume, and your eyes magically change to a gold color. Then towards the end of the book, we learn that there are rogue alphas which are illegal alphas who can't control their "aura" and are the children of omegas and betas (or something), and they must all be imprisoned from birth because they're a danger to society (seems kind of twisted, but ok?)? I don't even know--I genuinely could not follow it. Then there were 3 different ways that omegas could be bonded: a dark bond, a normal bond, or a princess bond, which basically range from slavery to being a literal duchess, and it basically just depends on if your alpha is a huge douchebag or not. And apparently you had to be fated to be mates, but also apparently that didn't matter when Eli was building his own pack who were not supposed to be pack? I don't know but it was really hard to follow. There was random magic at times throughout this book that was not explained at all. The whole aura sickness thing was hella confusing--why did it randomly start happening to some alphas and not others? Some of them just lose their aura randomly if they don't find their omega and then turn into betas? What happens to their knot when they turn into a beta? And finally, what is a seer because that played 0 part in this story, but they kept talking about how Kai was a seer? I don't know. I really could not get behind this world-building.

Also, a final side note that is probably just a "me thing," but I thought all of the men in this were described to be really unattractive, but I think they're supposed to be hot. His beetle black eyes??? For Caspian, I spent the entire time picturing him with a colonial man's low ponytail and little black eyes (like a squirrel). Angel was described like he was literally about to die, and his name being Angel was confusing because I feel like "angel" is often used as a pet name for the FMC in reverse harem books. I also have 0 clue what happened to Caspian at the end that Havoc needed to save him from--is he a rogue, and if so, why would it hurt him to shoot the gun if he's technically not bound to society's magical laws?

Anyways, I'm rambling so I'll stop there. It was fine. I actually read it super quickly, so it kept me engaged, but I was mad about so many parts of it, so "it was ok" feels like a good summary of it.

I received an ARC copy of this book.

After the emotional damage Pack Darling gave me, I didn't think I would ever be able to read another omegaverse and fully enjoy it. I'm happy to say Havoc Killed her Alpha positively surprised me.

I loved the relationship between Bane and Havoc. He immediately knew something was wrong but still respected her wishes and kept her 'secret'. When the truth finally came out the pack believed her and rallied behind Havoc, which was a nice change to other books I've read.

However, I would have liked a bit more elaboration on the characters themselves. I feel like I know the basics of every one of them, but I don't KNOW them. Havoc being the MC would normally mean she's the character you get to know best but I don't feel like she got much more going on than 'scared out of her mind' and 'horny as f*ck'.

The same goes for the guys. We know what some of them do for a living and basic character traits for all of them but that's it. There are so many questions that I would like answered like WHY does Kai need a leash? Or HOW did Bane get adopted?

Issues didn't really get addressed. Havoc would mention bad behaviour by guy A to guy B, guy B would be grumpy.... And that was it. If someone threatened me to throw me off a balcony I would like some outrage on my behalf, thank you very much.

I love stand alones but this might have been better as a duet.

This was an omegaverse unlike any I had read before. For the best reading experience, I recommend going in blind. For that reason, I will be intentionally vague in this review. What I can say without hesitation is that once I started this book, I was hooked.

The facts: Havoc killed her Alpha and is now being held in the home of the remaining members of his pack, who must decide her fate. Why would she kill her mate? We find that nothing is as simple as it appears at first glance.

This story is high angst with betrayals from mates and forced/broken bonds. If you have triggers, read the content warning at the beginning of the book.

As an enemies-to-lovers romance, the steam progresses at a medium burn pace. Once the relationships settle, the spice cranks up high with MF, MFM, MMF, and group scenes. The FMC experiences preheat and true heat with all the associated s3x (including slick, knotting, and eventual mating bites). There is MM content, with two of the alphas having a preexisting relationship prior to the omega joining the pack.

While this book is a standalone, the author left the potential for an interconnected standalone to be written at a future date with a return visit from the characters in this story. I recommend this story to lovers of OV who are looking for something new from the trope.

3 Stars - Beware of Triggers!!!

📖 4 Stars for Quality of writing and storyline
💔 1 Stars for Enjoyment (my feelings only)

I really really wanted to love this book. I was prepared for some light bullying and mild intimidation. I can handle that much. I cannot handle heavier bullying from a love interest, brutally terrorizing a FMC, or death threats from a fated mate. I can’t handle anything unforgivable from a love interest, and I’m not a super forgiving person in the first place. Anyways, I’ve finished the book and I’m still thrumming with anxiety and panic on behalf of the FMC. It’s not a good feeling.

I’m not sure I can verbalize why this book triggered me so hard. Maybe it’s the fact that even after the guys learned the truth, even after three of them "begged" for forgiveness, their bond was still crap (pack bond and relationship to their omega). They didn’t grovel in a meaningful way. They didn’t do anything to prove themselves to her through actions, only words... Or maybe it was because everything about their relationship was toxic.

There was also a lack of balance between all the bad stuff happening versus good stuff. Most of this book was all “bad stuff.” We only get teeny tiny glimpses of anything happy. Even the ending was just a quick glimpse of happiness. I didn’t get any sweet, or nice, or loving vibes from the story or the characters. No doting alphas, cuddles, or calming purrs. They hugged a couple times here and there I think…she gave a blowjob…and then sex. The story was too entrenched in its misery for me.

This book includes hate sex. She loses her virginity to hate sex from one of her fated mates. This scene was really triggering for me because it felt like this terrible, awful, mean, hateful alpha was taking advantage of FMC in a vulnerable moment of pre-heat. Orgasm denial for FMC while the male finished…the whole scene sent my anxiety screaming. I dislike hate sex normally. Hate sex between alpha and omega, because of the power imbalance, isn’t something I can deal with. Also, orgasm denial for a virgin omega who is in heat it beyond cruel. The consent here was dubious.

The flashbacks from the FMC’s time with the alpha she killed also ruined me. I wasn’t prepared for any of that. I didn’t want to read about that stuff happening. It was too awful for me. I think it would have been fine if that alpha was someone else (ie not a fated mate)…but reading about an omega being abused in such a way by HER alpha was traumatizing.

A lot of people will love this story. It was really well written. The storyline is unique and exciting. If none of the issues I mentioned above trigger you then read the hell out of the story, you’ll love it. I just need to go and read something extra fluffy now.

- Multiple first person POV
- A/B/O omegaverse
- 4 alpha mates (non-shifters)
- Virgin FMC omega
- 🔥 med/slow burn (75% is first steamy scene)
- 🌶 1/5 spicy stars - there are two sex scenes. One was traumatizing for me so it doesn’t count. A non-reciprocated blowjob by an omega who had been mentally, emotionally, and sexually abused also doesn’t count. That was less sexy and more triggering. Too much power imbalance and not enough love.

First off I adore her writing. Her worldbuilding is so unique and wonderfully crafted. She has 4 men who are suffering for all different forms of trauma while also creating a woman that is surviving her own trauma. And I am enraptured.

Marie has a way of creating characters you can't help to love. Not to mention her ability to create flashbacks in a very natural way. I read this book in 2 days flat. I cannot wait to get ahold of Viper's Story. I need it yesterday!

This was so freaking sad for so much of the book.
Plus it was a slow burn. We don’t get even a kiss until like halfway in, and then nothing else really happens for another good 10% or so. And even then we only get that with one of the men and it’s sort of a hate fuck, honestly.
So.
It’s emotionally taxing, with hardly any relief. Figuratively. And literally. 🫢😂

I did like the characters.
They were all so damaged in their own ways and they came together, slowly, but in a really nice way.

Really the only reason I’m giving this 3.5 stars is because I just wasn’t as prepared for the angst in it as I should’ve been.
I spent most of the first half and a little of the second with tears and snot running down my face. And then the romance was really just the last 30% or so.

I liked the characters.
I liked the plot, though it was so harrowing.
The relationships were all unique and went at different paces, but ended up really satisfying at the end of it all.
The sex, when we finally got to that kind of connection, was hot, but not super memorable.
I liked it.

Im just not the biggest fan of so much angst in one sitting, especially when I wasn’t ready for it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The main protagonist let another alpha go down on her while pinning after her four scent matches. It only made things worse when she told the alpha that it was the last time they fooled around because she wanted to try to make things work with them… 🤢

I received the ARC copy of this book.

This is easily my first 5 star read of the year. I loved each of the characters and it felt like the relationships developed naturally. One of my biggest issues with a lot of Omegaverse books is that the whole pack falls in love at once. That is not the case in this one. Havoc has to create a relationship with each member of the pack and navigate their issues together.

The flashback scenes of what Havoc went through were well done, at times hard to read emotionally, but well done. My heart broke for Havoc so many times throughout this book. Marie Mackay did such a wonderful job of showing how Havoc had to navigate what happened to her.

Also when the pack realized what had happened to her was a 10/10 moment.

As always I of course had a favorite pack members and for once they were not the last man standing who fought against it. Nope! It was the slightly psycho but well meaning one, his reactions to Havoc were all stand out moments in this book to me. Additionally there was Bane, Bane is everything and he needs no explanation for why and how much I love him. Just... Bane <3

This is the first omegaverse I have read in a long time that I will likely re-read again and it will join my list of comfort reads.

I liked this one. It was dark and intense, but I loved Havoc. She was sheltered and sweet. The little situations she would get into or react funny to because she had been so hidden away from the world cracked me up. Havoc was a strong, resilient survivor and I love those kinds of heroines. I also really liked all the alphas. Bane and Kai hold a special place in my heart but all of them were great guys. Each one was fully fleshed out and different. No homogenized blur of men in the RH. Great job and I can't wait to read more from this author.

Trigger warnings: This was very dark for a good bit of this. There was noncon, ow and om involvement, and psychological torture. But if you can get through what was done to her, there is also a lot of healing and bonding.

This book drops you right into Havoc having killed her alpha … Logan, and the story unfolds as the book goes along. And just wow … the ride was unique and so well done.

Havoc is sweet and naive, and her scent matched mates all gave their own interesting back stories.

What Marie did with the character of Logan was absolutely brilliant. She created one of the most devious and manipulative characters ever.

Vipers story will be so good 😈😈

Look Deeper

The story of an Omega who k3lled her Alpha and the Pack members who found her.

Havoc was Mated to Logan, Caspian, Kai, Angel and Bane. Except the latter 4 knew nothing of Havoc's existence because Logan their leader/Alpha kept her hidden in secret taunting and tormenting her for his amusement and pleasure.

Havoc and her remaining mates didn't have the type of relationship and Alpha and Omega should have because they didn't trust each other. Havoc blamed her mates for not finding her and saving her; not knowing that her mates didn't even know she existed because Logan kept her a secret from them.

Slowly but surely secrets began to surface which caused tensions to flare and angst amongst the Pack. When a "friend" comes to visit the guys after Logan's funeral, loyalties are tested when the truth about Logan is revealed and Caspian, Angel, Kai and Bane find themselves at a crossroads at discovering the man they viewed as a brother was truly the villain in disguise and the villain they believe Havoc to be was truly a victim.

It was a long road ahead for Havoc and her mates. Before bonds could be established; trust needed to be earned and before any of that could happen Havoc and her Mates needed to reveal their secrets to one another and release all of their past hurt and pain.

The theme of this story was simply: Things Aren't What They Seem. Loyalties were tested, Bonds shaken, Brotherhood on the verge of ruin all because of one Pack members obsession with Power and Control.

I really did enjoy this. I liked all the characters in this novel and although I didn't always agree with their choices, I could understand the why of it. I liked that the heroine was always herself and although she spent part of this figuring out who that was and how to overcome what had happened to her, she was not timid. I can't wait for Vioer's story.

I'm not keen on the writing style, the POVs were too soon.

My pet hate is long internal dialogue, with this book we have 3 timelines going on with the characters yammering to themselves. This would have been palatable if we knew what the hell was going on. We read a lot of feelings we can't reconcile with or even begin to care about. We aren't given a chance to connect with any of these characters before their cares are front and centre.

I'm all for intrigue, but my brain refused to entertain this level of mess especially when the POVs were just repetitive.

I appreciate the author's attempt to start in media res, but I didn't vibe with the writing style and pacing of things. There was also a lot of repetitiveness, and I never fully got fully invested. Could've easily been edited down to 300 pages and it would've helped with the pace.

RATING: 5 HEARTS!

Havoc Killed Her Alpha is a dark and deliciously captivating enemies-to-lovers romance, a brilliantly written original take on omegaverse filled with raw emotions and a tantalizing mix of sweet and heat. Havoc, despite the heart-wrenching hand life has dealt her, is one resilient heroine, making our hearts ache for her from prologue to concluding chapters. Her romance with her alphas—Bane, Kai, Angel and Caspian—despite its antagonistic start compliments the plot with the same angsty verve as their passion.

Overall, while the dark theme is uncompromising in its approach, this book is also a heartrending journey of healing, forgiveness, and love—wholly riveting and unforgettable.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I can't believe I haven't read any of her previous books.

Havoc's story was heartbreaking, disturbing, and beautiful. Havoc is a sheltered traumatized omega. Due to choices being made on her behalf she's forced into being an outcast within their society with few protections. She's come out of everything a fighter and a survivor. The alpha she was fated to wasn't a prince charming. He toyed with her and enjoyed hurting her. When she was finally pushed too far she ended him. Now her fate lies with the rest of his pack. They are cruel and seek to punish her. So much more is at play though and her dead alpha's poisonous web expands over them all.

Each alpha is unique and each has their own idea as to what to do with Havoc. They're saddled with secrets from their past and grief. In the end will they choose Havoc or finally break her?

There's so much angst and heartbreak. While there are 🌶 scenes that were freaking 🥵 they happen later on in the story. It's very much a book where the relationships must first get past their dark beginning. I want to learn more about different characters introduced so I'll definitely be picking up the next book. This society and the different types of bonds sounds absolutely fascinating. It unlike anything else I've read in other omegaverse books.

I received an ARC copy of this for an honest review.

First off, I absolutely love all of Marie's books, I fell inlove with all the characters in dusk wall series, then she comes out with an omegaverse book (her poisonverse)and can I just say I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.

I think I finished this book in 8 hours, I literally could not put it down. I really enjoyed the layout of the book, with the little sight into the past in-between what was happening in the moment, it gave you that context to the back story.

Can I just say I cried for Havoc, she had been through so freakin much and to still be able to let herself hope for a good future ugh, I just loved her.

I think we can all agree that at first our favorite men were Bane and Kai I mean like give me them now, I need them in my life, Angel slowly grew on me. But Caspian... I was so freakin pissed at him for like 85% of the book, I just wanted to reach into the book and smack him upside the head, but then you got the sweet moments with him and just *sigh* the wait was worth it.

The world building and the character building was on point as it usually is with Marie MacKay books.
I cannot wait until Viper's book!!!

"It's like lava flowed through my veins."

The omega who killed her alpha. The omega who was tortured by her mate. Whose only hope of survival was a dream that her mates would come for her. But things never go as you dream of them. Do they? Her dream shattered when she was found beside her alpha's body. The alpha who was the pack brother of her mates. Now it's upto them to decide her fate. How long till the truth comes tumbling out.

This book is so f**king perfect that words aren't enough to describe how I'm feeling. I needed to breathe this beauty to get on with my real life. I was unable to put it down. Every waking moment of mine was consumed by this book and every dream was about the next scene and the possible outcome.

How each and every character grew into the book and intertwined with your heart is mind blowing. And those nicknames 😍 I'm a sucker for guys who nicknames their mates. It just gets soooo...I don't know what to say..

To be honest I was not going to sign-up for this ARC as my competitive exams are so close. But I had to have it. And I'm so very glad that I did.

This is a masterpiece if you are into MMFMM or not. I highly recommend you all to read it.

Top tier omega trope. Absolutely one of my favs so far and that’s saying a lot.

Soooooo good. Cannot wait for vipers story.
I wish I could reread this from scratch and not know anything that will happen.

God the grovels were good. The love was good. The sort of rejected mate thing was soooo good.

Absolute amazing writing and I loved the pack

Now I want about 10 men who loves to pamper me and gives me princess treatment 24/7, but I would definitely not prefer that kind of relationship in real life, though. There's something special about the fictional ones

Havoc, a beautiful omega, sheltered by her father, did not attend the institute to teach her the omega ways; instead, she has become a lesser-valued omega with specific markings around her eyes. In this tale, there are three kinds of bonds to alphas. Each carries specific elements that can either harm or help an omega. When her father is murdered, she is on her own for a time, then she attends a place where she is surrounded by alphas. One, in particular, has caught her scent, a fated scent. She will suffer immensely after taking his bite; he promises her the world and her fated pack as long as she complies. Her fated pack, the four others who are supposed to rescue her; where are they? Why have they not saved her? When she kills the alpha that claimed her, the pack will have to decide her fate~ She will experience so much suffering and pain at their hands; they have no clue what the truth is~ Once the truth comes out, they will all realize what sick and narcissistic games this alpha played~ They are all broken but it will take one special omega to help heal them all~ Is she up to this task? Or will another come in and take what is supposed to be theirs? A heart-wrenching story that makes the reader want to protect and shield Havoc through all she experiences and wanting her to find the love, peace, and freedom she seeks…

I’m so surprised this book has so many bad reviews. This was great. I think this is up there for favorite shifter stories and favorite dark rh. Sure it didn’t go as in-depth as some that are series (obviously it’s one book) but it was a solid story all around. Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼

EPIC OV 💜💚🩷

This book was so good. It gave me chills, had me laughing and crying. All the good feels. It has all the good OV bits - nests, knots, bites.

Havoc lived up to her name 100% 🤭💜

I can’t wait to continue with Vipers book 🧡🧡

I DNFd this book at 79%. The first 30ish percent was completely disjointed (multi POVs with all the main characters, flashbacks in the middle of a scene, confusing and minimal world building) and it caused me to lose out on that initial connection with the characters or plot. The only reason I made it to 79% was because my hiking app lied to me and the trail was longer than expected and I kept telling myself "just give this book to the end of the hike". Some of the narration was a bit off and the accents yanked me right out of any immersion I was feeling.

I received an ARC for this book.

I was thrilled to read this book! And safe to say it did not disappoint me at all!

This PNR reverse harem was the best of its genre I’ve read till date. The Plot was just amazing. It made you on the edge wondering and wanting to devour the book to find out what happened next!

The characters were amazingly written and each had their own dark pasts that were explored in a well-written way slowly and gradually.

The coming together of Havoc and her harem, the tension and the slow burn was absolutely amazing and I loved to see them all together✨
