An anonymous connection twisted, a chance encounter with two men with a specific request. But when communications go wrong, and the lines are crossed, what will happen?
I signed up to work in a club to earn some extra money - everything anonymous, whatever the client desires. But what happens when it goes wrong?
Umm 🤔 I realllyyyyy don’t know wtf to say about this one. I guess if you like watersports and are in the mood for smut and only smut with some crazy weirdos then this is for you? It’s 68 pages and took me over a month to read because I kept falling asleep. 🤣🙄🤷🏻♀️
Also, I knew what this was about but ew. I guess I prefer when people fuck the piss out of one another but not when they drink it straight from the garden hose like it’s the nectar of the gods.
Are we even surprised I read this? There’s nothing I won’t read atleast once. I’m still unsure on the watersports and what I thought of it but I just couldn’t stop reading. But besides that I thought this novella was actually really well written. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶🌶.5 MMF dub con/non con Water sports Lots of fluid play
This is so not my kink. I gave it a high rating because I knew it wasn't going to be my kink but read it anyway.
Sammy works for a club where they make sexual fantasies come true. She signed up to be pampered by two men, but due to a club error, she ended up in a captive/noncon situation. Zavier and his lover Jiro had reputations to protect due to being billionaires. They sought out this private club to act out one of their fantasies. Not realizing that Sammy didn't actually want to participate, they drug her and take her home. When they figure things out - everything changes.
It's MMF and seemed more focused on the M portion of pleasure. There were golden showers, a ton of bodily fluid exchanged from ALL orifices. Rimming and probably a few other kinks I've forgotten.
If it's your thing - enjoy! No kinks are shamed here!
I don’t mind the piss kink (otherwise I wouldn’t have picked it lol) and all in all it was pretty intense in a good way but the story just really wasn’t it

🏆Review🏆 Definitely something different to read. Lots of triggers and content warnings. Sammy (h) was kinda annoying but, Zavier (H) and Jiro (H) made up for it. I kinda wish I saw how they’re relationship formed and how they discovered their kinks. Sammy (h) had no self-worth until she met the guys. She also thinks that being able to use Google Maps is being “tech savvy”. Such a cute epilogue with their wedding and wedding night.
⚠️OVERALL IT IS UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT TO READ THIS⚠️
Showers, anyone? I mean… the title says it all. The writing is amazing and the dark spice is spicin’. Make sure you know what you’re getting into before starting though. It’s a very goldeny wet time hahaha
The writing was okay and the description did the story justice, however I felt there were many unexplained things and the story itself wasn't all that interesting to me. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Curiosity led me to read this novella. Though the description said taboo, the words ‘watersports play’ in the synopsis/bio caught my attention. I had no idea what it was. Thus, I read this accepted this Arc and read it to feed my inquisitiveness. Boy, did I find out. I was like ‘wow, oh, so that’s what it is.’ Where I’m from watersports play is called ‘golden shower’. I was more than satisfied to find that out. I patted myself on the back after reading Golden. I didn’t even bat an eye and read through it without a flinch. That called for success. With that said, it was not my cup of tea. All the sports play talk. Everything else was interesting. Even though it was short.
Sammy worked at an erotic club, catering to clients of various kinks. One night, she filled in for another worker and met two gorgeous mystery clients. What she was told was different from what they ordered. This led to an entire catastrophe. A world of kink awakening and all those good stuff.
‘They were marked. Mine.’ My go-to thought for this statement was he wanted to bite or leave actual marks. Low and below, it wasn’t. Most of this book reminded me of a dark romance. I guess it could be classified as such either way. Zavier was a devil. A delicious devil when he wasn’t doing you-might-want-know-what. I couldn’t help but love Sammy. Even in her circumstances, she showed strength. The fact she was not portrayed as meek made me yelp with joy. Thank you, S.B Haze. I adore you for showing the world that women can be strong even in the darkest of situations. Most authors can learn from this.
Jiro was a greedy charmer. A bad influence on Sammy. He was okay when he wasn’t being gluttonous. Minus the kink, I loved him and Zavier’s relationship. I could sense how close they were, how comfortable they were from Jiro’s point of view. The overall story was both enlightening and intriguing. The smut was a plus. The HEA tied up everything to my liking although the shortness of the plot made me want more of the story. Even so, it was a good read. I would recommend this to all readers who can tolerate a good watersports play because this one was just…a lot to digest.
Of course, I'm leaving my honest review after receiving a copy of this book.
I nearly gave this five stars, “Well why in the world are you only giving it three?!” Um, well, I can’t decide whether the sex was the plot, or the plot was actually supposed to be there. Outside of the hot sex, nothing else really made sense. And actually, sometimes that didn’t make sense. Sammy agreed to be a damsel within a scene. Except she was greeted by quite the opposite. There’s no hesitation, it’s dirty right out of the gates. Especially since it’s non-con without the other party’s knowledge. I think a lot of my lack of stars has to do with the time jump. They had 18 months of time locked in a house together. So we went from dub-con to full consent without understanding the situation. I’m also really bummed that more focus wasn’t on Jiro and Zavier. They had a beautiful bond, and it was just skimmed over to remain focused on Sammy. This was not my jam, it’s not even my jelly. If this was about the ability to explore limits safely, why was the focus on only one kink? I just really wished for more. Especially with how much interest I had in the characters outside of the bedroom. Their dynamics didn't make sense to me, because we had no time with them.
Not sure why people have picked this up without researching into the triggers more and then rated so low. They are very clearly explained. I think the disappointing part for me is that there are hints of a plot (MMCs dangerous family, MMCs being billionaires and from mafia background, FMC having sick family) but as it is a novella you don't actually find out any more than a hint. I think if writing a novella the author shouldn't elude to a wider possible plot, as it just leads to disappointment. The epilogue also created disappointment for me, as you miss their entire relationship and it skips to the . BUT the story itself I really enjoyed! I loved the MMCs and their dynamic, and the kinks explored.
HEA(?): Yes Relationship Type: MMF Heat: 3.5-4/5, but weirdly enough it was hard to read the scenes, lots of words but hard to picture but what I could picture it was pretty hot. Romance: 2/5 Pacing: Brisk Drama: 1/5 Suspense: 1.5/5
The writing is kinda hard to get used too and also hard to picture, this is definitely a book that needed depth and more breathing space. I didn’t get to fully know the characters at all, to actually really enjoy them to the fullest.
I read another erotica with this particular kink, and I didn't necessarily like it. However, this was very steamy and a quick read. And I wasn't as disturbed as I thought.
I definitely wouldn't be able to recommend this book to anybody. I also won't read this type of kink again.
Fuck yeah! This was filthy. If you don’t enjoy golden showers, won’t be for you. But the way it was done, the degradation of it all and mixed with MM, MMF and yeah was a vibe.
I saw this as a recommendation on a group and I thought “why not?” But it definitely wasn’t for me. I didn’t like Sammy at all, and it just wasn’t for me. It was a quick read though!
I enjoyed this book more than I probably should have haha.. is something wrong with me?? It was definitely spicy and I am so intrigued in learning more.. The writing was decent but definitely held my attention throughout. It was a quick and easy read with a HEA!
The story opens on a very interesting high concept, that is, a company offering services of ‘scripted and consented role-plays’ intended for customers looking for extremely ‘peculiar’ sexual experiences.
As a female reader, erotic literature always gives me food for thought about female perspective over sexuality and the notion of consent, especially within the field of ‘dark romance’ (which ‘Golden’ clearly is a part of, without question), even if those kinds of deeper questioning are not necessarily a part of the author’s storytelling angle in the first place.
‘Golden’ tells the story of a sex worker unexpectedly finding herself in a situation of a non-consensual violent encounter with two ‘customers’, as a result of a misunderstanding with the company she works at.
With a pitch like this, your mind naturally takes you to some obvious issues: as a sex worker, what is your limit? How clear is the line between consent and abuse?… It’s interesting to have stories exploring these types of extremely important questionings. Even if it’s not the main focus, the author obviously had them in mind, which is clear with a line like this one, for instance: “Well, with enough compensation, I would do a lot. That familiar sensation twitched in my chest, that one that reminded me how little I valued my body, my life”.
However, it should be noted that the timeline is a bit frustrating because there is an extremely rushed 18 months-long ellipse toward the ending, during which you have absolutely no idea what happened between the characters, and how their relationship actually ended up evolving to something different than what they were to each other in the beginning of the story. In other terms, there is kind of an “off-screen” relationship development.
To be clear, this is not a dark romance novel with a proper character development, like one where the whole captivity trope would create a real basis for psychological character development and a progressive switch of mental structures, beliefs and feelings all along the story.
As for ‘Golden’, the very short length of the story suggests that the author obviously wanted to focus on a succession of descriptive and explicit (and really, REALLY kinky – check the TW) smut scenes rather than on a deeper and more complex storyline. And it is not a bad point at all, because, let’s be honest, a lot of readers are looking for quick and fast-paced smutty reads.
That’s a totally understandable choice of narrative, and when it’s well construed and written (which is the case here), this type of literature is super enjoyable. As a reader, you just have to know what you’re looking for through your reading experience, what you like or don’t like, because you can’t blame an author for a writing style that simply does not match your preferences.
[I received an ARC copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily].
Don't let the 3 stars fool you. It's not a bad Novella, just a VERY niche taboo that's written here. Honestly, though, I expected nothing less from S.B. Hazel. Check your triggers because I honestly asked myself at least 5 times throughout this Novella why I was reading this.😂 I'm still unsure about my feelings on the🚿 but I'll read anything once 😅 S.B. writes in a way that you have to finish it, then you'll close the book/eReader and ask yourself, "Wtf did I just read?"
[*edit: I closed the ebook and immediately tried to delete it from my head a while ago, so I forgot that I wrote the below annotation about how the non-con trigger warning was *poorly placed in the wrong spot* by the author and that the author **intentionally chose** not to mention the TWs in their summary—or even a “check the trigger warnings inside the book” type of thing that many, many authors do, especially for incredibly triggering content like on page sexual assault.
copied note from annotation: the non-con TW was nowhere in the description, and kindle app opened this onto the first page of the first chapter. so didn’t even get to see the trigger warning list that was before the table of contents. Author should have listed a fucking massive TW in the description, because how the fuck would anyone know about the non-con trigger warning until they’d already purchased it. the kindle app part isn’t their fault, but I wouldn’t have had that issue in the first place if they’d appropriately warned people before they gave the author money so author can go fuck herself]
review: on page non-con with details about how no one can help her, fearing for her life, and all the failsafes/safewords/signals are ignored while the two guys gleefully tell her they enjoy that she’s not consenting—they initially believe they’re all in a dub-con scene, but they didn’t change their behavior when they realized they actually her violated consent (sexually but also drugging and kidnapping) so I noped the fuck out (I’d thought it was going to be revealed as dub-con retroactively but nope. well dub-con isn’t for me anyway. the summary/blurb made it sound like a little miscommunication instead of the full on assault that happens). I get that there are people who enjoy dub-con, like I can sort of understand when the characters and audience all know that it’s just pretend and is still SSC….but how anyone considers genuine non-con spicy/sexy makes me feel sick and is incomprehensible (and I’m actually perfectly fine not understanding the point of view that would make reading about assault enjoyable/arousing)
