One bite seals my fate—a lycan witch sentenced for death.
Everyone knows not to cross Gideon Disantollo, the dangerous alpha of the Silver Wolf Pack, and every witch knows not to enter his territory. But gambling at his bar is the only way I can raise enough money to pay my little sister’s tuition to the Academy of Witches—as long as I make sure I win.
But I wasn’t expecting to get caught, especially by Disantollo himself. And I definitely wasn’t expecting to get bitten.
Now, I'm desperately hoping that the bedtime stories my grandmother told me about a magical wishing well are true… because only death awaits a witch who becomes a werewolf.
And I have to stop thinking about Gideon Disantollo… but the more I try to fight the strange pull between us, the stronger it becomes—and the more he seems to hate me.
I would've given this 1 star but I actually finished this book even though I didn't really want to. It was like a car crash... I couldn't stop looking... 😳 Everything was just so.... bad!
And I paid for the Kindle book... a whole £0.78 but still, its the principle of the matter. And I don't judge a book by its price. I have read some trully awesome & amazing books that were only £0.99!!
But yes so... this story. Omg. It felt like the author was racing to get through the story. There was no getting used suddenly being a wolf or learning how to handle the change (she just knew!?) or character development! She was SO whiny & he was just a super asshole.
She's a witch, they fight/hate the wolves... bit she goes to their bar to cheat the tables & make cash to save her sister from their abusive mother. But the wolves know from the start she's cheating AND that she's a witch. So they just dont do anything??? Until finally the alpha decides to punish her for cheating by biting her 2 seconds after meeting her - knowing that his bite to a witch is a death sentence... but who cares?! Wolves hate witches, right!? Bit extreme....
Then he realises she's his mate as soon as he bites her!!! And now suddenly wants to keep her around & "teach" her how to wolf. I use the term teach VERY loosely coz all he does is get her read some books while he drinks whisky at his desk, brooding. But he lurves her....??? I mean COME ON!! Bit of effing romance please!! And not to mention the ICK factor... he's like 500+ years old & shes only 19 (who'se been abused her whole life & totally vulnerable!) !! 🤦🏻♀️ What the actual!!???
It was all just wrong... just all wrong & no I will NOT be reading the rest of the series. I thought this would be a bit spicy but it was so PG.... just why bother!? 😒

Amazing start to a great series. Adara is a witch but when she meets wolf Gideon she Learns she's more than she imagined. Kaylus is the raven. Binged this in two days. Highly reccomend it.

Holy cliffhanger!! Bitten Witch was a quick but captivating read! Even in the short time we get to know Adara, Jules, Gideon (and his pack, shout-out to Frank because I love him), they are well fleshed out characters. This book established a lot of world building in a short amount of time, but was thorough.
**Side note: the wolf graphics are so beautiful!!
I can’t wait to read the next book. Hopefully, I am lucky to receive another ARC 😅🥰
Concept was good but the execution was lacking. No real action happened until 89% of the book was done. No real ending. I received an ARC in exchange for a review. If you look at my other reviews I'm usually all about the praise. This book has so much potential. Immortal lycans, truly terrible parent, evil witches. It was a nice twist. I'm fine with books that are a series where the main part of the story finishes at least somewhat and then the next book has a newish adventure. Zero closure. I will read the next book because I did enjoy the story overall and want to know what happens, just not happy with the lack of any real closure.
Bitten Witch is intriguing, exciting, and at times heart wrenching! You'll dislike one character within a few chapters, and want to see that same character die a particularly gruesome death by the end of this volume. The bloodlust won't be satisfied in this volume however. I'll be patiently, well no, I'll be anxiously waiting for book two.
4.75⭐️ Omg what cliff hanger!!!! I can’t wait for the second book to come out! This was such a quick read and the world was beautifully built in this book! It’s so exciting and had my heart racing at times! Other times I caught myself tearing up feeling the pain these two have been through!
I had high hopes for this book, but it was sadly a let-down. The story felt rushed and there wasn't truly any depth to the story. There were also a ton of plot holes! The one that bothered me the most was Gideon's photograph. It was of his family from 509 years ago, but was later stated that a witch created it for him. Photographs weren't even invented then; how would they know to make something like that? Also, he supposedly started the Salem Witch Trials in retaliation for the murder of his family. But he waited almost 200 years for his revenge? Make it make sense, please.
Despite all of this, I'm going to attempt to read book 2, purely for curiosity's sake.

The back and forth of the enemies to lovers is amazing!! And the ending will have you screaming for book 2. I seen Monique betraying her but I’m praying Jules got out safe.

Not bad, if not a bit rushed. I like the concept and I don't mind the characters but it felt like it was a bit rushed, only for not a lot to happen.
Adara is a witch with weak magical abilities, who is essentially deemed useless by her mother, so she is forced to stay at home and do all the cooking, cleaning and tutoring her sister, who has an abundance of magical abilities. When her sister gets accepted into an academy that will teach her to fully utilize her abilities, Adara disguises her scent to play cards in a wolf bar. In this universe, witches and wolves have a long rivalry of each other, the witches slaughtering the wolves in attempt to gain their immortality. When the witch is caught by wolf alpha Gideon, his punishment is biting her, thus beginning the transformation of her shifting into a werewolf. Now the problem is that because of the hatred, she will never be fully accepted by the wolves who find out she's a witch, and will be experimented on by the witches if they find out she was bitten. What i liked about this punishment, ironically enough, is that he discovers that this witch is his mate, fated to him by the gods. What i didnt like is that he made no real attempts to get to know her or for them to earn each others trust. After her first shift, she seeks asylum with Gideon. He offers her a job but because neither of them trusts the other, she doesn't tell him the causes of the scars she carries. We learn more about Gideons back story, including the tragic story of his late wife and daughter, how he started the Salem witch trials, and how he has only ever found one witch he could trust. I liked the concept of a familiar in this story, a raven who seems to be able to talk, and I like the sisterly love in the story. What I don't like is that we see all these examples of her being abused by her mother, and nobody stands up to the mother. By the end of the story, we actually get a really big plot point and then the story abruptly ends. Don't get me wrong, I downloaded the second one. But I'm hopeful that maybe the author will work on pacing for the next few installments in this series.

Ok so there’s so much to say and yet, I need to control myself because I’m not a fan of spoilers- but I am a fan of hints lol. Adara (ps this is a cool name) is a witch that lives with her mother and sister. Right away, you fall in love with Jules- baby sister. And seriously- ima slap her momma. Monique is something else. I understand so much of Addy’s insecurities and negative self reflection. Sure her powers are low and her spells don’t work right- buttttt I bet if momma tries to actually help her things would be different. Anyways, enter the wolves. Adara just wants to send her baby sister to the academy to help teach her because Jules is talented and Monique refuses. So she goes to the wolfy bar to gamble… witches and wolves hate each other andddd she’s sneaking out of her damn window because she’s an adult with a psycho mother to go there. And then the unexpected happens. Gideon doesn’t kill her when he catches her. Also- I’m team Kaylus for real. I need one of him!!!! Poor addy. So much of this one is getting her to understand that some things, no matter how talented can never be undone or changed or fixed. Not going to lie, I was absolutely hooked. I have so much hope for addy and Gideon. I really like frank and Mila. Jules is adorable. I need Monique to die horribly and a happily ever after eventually lol!
Absolute banger intro poem. It set a good stage. I hated the ML and plot start. Really stupid he bit her knowing its punishable by death for him. He could have done anything else. Wish the FML was atleast 20 and not still a teen to be paired with a dude that is 500 and some years old. The typical woman trying to get the ML to like her was annoying, it was his choice to be around her. And it was so obvious she was bad but he was dumb and didnt suspect her of anything. Male lead is a dipshit dumbass that thinks the mole in the pack is the fml even tho whoever snitched will get her killed. And then asks her why shes a bitch when hes been an asshat. The ML is genuinely a piece of shit that emotionally abuses the FML. And the FML is dumb as shit for trying to not see the witches as the bad guys when she was brought up with how witches murdered wolves for immorality. And what they did to her. You guys aren't good people? Idk how the FML could be so dumb. Especially judging him for killing the people that murdered his family. She judges him and leaves yet alwaya comes back for help. The FMLS moms abuse was not written well. It was set up to be pretty heavily physically abusive but she only pushed her around a little. It never showed how she got the scars type of abuse. I could not get into this book

The storyline grabbed me from the beginning, and kept my interest until the end. I can't wait for the second book to come out! There were twists, magic and love and tragedy that keep you interested, but there's still mystery around parts of the story that keep you wondering how it'll play out. Both Gideon and Adara's stories tug at the heart strings but explains their strength and keeps you rooting for them. Even though Adara's behavior to her mom is understandable, it's still frustrating and got me almost yelling at my kindle at times, but you can see her becoming a stronger version of herself. Definitely a quick read that will stay on your mind for quite some time after.
Let’s start with I finished this book within 24 hours. I couldn’t put it down. Adara is a low power witch who is mistreated by her mother; beaten and mistreated to be their slave at home. Reminded me of the evil step mother in Cinderella. Adara love for her baby sister pushes her to steal from a werewolf pack only to get bitten by the alpha. Who turns out to be her mate. I love the enemy to lovers quarrel between the two characters. Getting both point of views of Gideon (the alpha) and Adara was great and made me love the characters more.
Great fast read. It read smoothly and entertaining. Can’t wait to read book 2!
Poor adara can't catch a break. All she wanted was to save money to send her sister off to the academy. Instead her life changes one night and with it a death sentence. I gotta say i didn't like Gideon for awhile. Both fighting agaisnt the bond is one thing but Gideon was a huge ahole about it. Give the girl a break she's very obviously broken. I definitely enjoyed the book just wished Adara was a little more bad ass and let some positivity in so she can start to heal faster from how broken she is. Can't wait to see her growth in the next book and how her and Gideons relationship grows.
Honestly, I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. It started out a little slow, but quickly picked up pace and kept me interested through the entire book. Very strong FMC, dealing with an abusive/neglectful parent. Gideon comes across as the bad/tough/emotionless guy, except when it comes to Adara. And Adara, immediately pushes him away, believing all the stories that have been told about him. I did not want it to end on that cliffhanger!!! Seriously, cannot wait for book 2 to be released so I can read more on Gideon and Addy's bond and story.
The characters…. The development is a rollercoaster.. some passages it’s easy to get lost into their turmoil and in others is so wishy washy that I have whiplash.
For a centuries old werewolf, maturity is lacking. I can’t even blame the sheltered teenage girl, but the aged wolf… yeah I can.
I’m hooked to see how the story goes but I’ve been skimming chapters and will probably continue to do so until til I’ve had enough of the mediocrity.
*ARC Copy* What. A. Cliffhanger. I definitely didn’t want this story to end! A witch, forced to become the one thing her kind hate, and find herself questioning everything she grew up learning. An Alpha determined to keep his pack safe from threats, finding himself entranced by his enemy. Bitten Witch is an awesome, quick read to set up for a wicked story. I can’t wait for the next book in the fall!!
*ARC Copy* The cliffhanger.... Whyyyyy! Serious review, though. This book was a FANTASTIC read. I could NOT put it down. The start to it was a little slow, but it just continues to build throughout. The enemies to *hopefully* lovers (because cliffhanger) and the morally gray, do first and don't ask questions MMC meets his match with the seemingly shy, button pusher FMC and it is FIREWORKS from the start. I love the building of their relationship and am so excited for the next book!
I received an ARC from the author. What a cliffhanger this book provided. Bitten witch was a quick read but really good nonetheless. Even though it is a book on the shorter side, it established a lot of information about the world and well fleshed out characters.
I can’t wait to read more about Adara, Jules and Gideon and his pack, and I really hope I am lucky enough to get an ARC for book two🤩
I was in the mood for an alpha werewolf story finding his mate, and this most certainly fit the bill for the mood I was in. He's hurt, and angry, and here comes this sweet innocent little witch, who loves her sister so much that she's willing to face the wolves to try to earn money to send her sister to the witch academy. But she didn't know what she was in for! And neither did the alpha wolf who bit her and now has to face the consequences.
While this book isn't what I would typically read it totally sucked me in and was a quick, easy read! I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it! Even though I love a quick read part of me also wishes this book had more "meat" to it and more magic. Also I'm not thrilled about the cliffhanger ending but I will be eagerly awaiting the release of book two! Thanks for the Arc!
I can't wait for the next book. It is a quick read finished it in a few hours. I was drawn in right away, love the characters and the supernatural mix in such an interesting way I haven't read before. It does feel like it's missing something but I can't quite figure it out.. still a great read can't wait to see how it proceeds. Love the wolf details for each character.
Bitten Witch captures your attention from the first page and holds it throughout. The characters are strong and intriguing. Whitney Morsillo weaves a story around the point where two worlds collide: witches and werewolves. Ambitious yes, but she delivers. A captivating story which left me in anticipation of the next book in this series and the further adventures of Gideon and Adara.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Bitten Witch was an enjoyable read and kept my interest from the beginning. I haven’t read many witch/werewolf books so it was very interesting to see the lore the author included. As the story went on, I got more invested in the characters and am very interested to see what happens in book two.
This book crossed my path from a one of the publishers emails featuring the current discounted books they have. I have to admit I went in to this with pretty low expectations. It turned out that I really enjoyed it and will be continuing the series plus looking in to her other works for sure. I am so glad I picked it up.
First book I’ve actually gotten into for a while since my reading slump I really enjoyed this and the bond between Gideon and Adara is just chefs 💋 Monique is a bitch of a mother I hope she gets what’s coming to her for treating adara like a slave and not a daughter plus please don’t let anything happen to Jules ❤️
The world just makes sense for me when I can pick up a book, or my kindle, and read beautifully written books that have strong stories with vivid characters. I'm grateful I found this book. I also appreciate that in your world werewolves are immortal. It's so annoying that that is not the norm lol.
It's a good storyline, however nothing Romantic really happens between the H and the h in this book. Buts she sure is a writer for me to finish reading the book and not have to read the other one naturally to see what happens when they finally get together. BUT if nothing happens between them by halfway in that book I'm out.
I love Adara and Gideon! The chemistry is fire!!! The storyline pulls you right in and keeps you interested. Only complaint is, it doesn't describe the pack very well. I'm not sure how many members or where they live?! Hopefully, this is addressed in the coming books. Great start to a good series!
