I received a pre-release advance copy of this book which I found both easy to read and genuinely helpful. Never Enough is a great book for anyone struggling with food addiction or simply seeking a deeper understanding of the complex and often misunderstood relationship between food and addiction. Author Sandra Elia offers a compassionate and insightful exploration of her own struggles with food addiction, as well as the personal stories of others who have battled with the same issue. She also provides practical advice for those looking to break free from their own addictive patterns, offering strategies for building healthier relationships with food and finding greater fulfillment in life.

Sandra’s writing is accessible and relatable, and she shares her story with a level of vulnerability and honesty that is truly inspiring. Her message is one of hope, and she shows that recovery from food addiction is possible with the right tools and support.

Overall, I highly recommend Never Enough to anyone who has struggled with food addiction, as well as to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the complex interplay between the brain, food, and addiction. It is a thought-provoking and ultimately uplifting book.

Sandra Elia’s book Never Enough could not come at a better time for society as we begin to confront the long-known science of the impact of ultra-processed “food like substances” on humans’ addiction to food, and its devastating impact on our health and wellbeing. Whether it is from the practical exercises in each chapter, the first-hand accounts of every day people getting to the other side of food addiction, the 3 pillars to shift from food addiction to food serenity, or numerous other nuggets of wisdom from Sandra’s life experiences and professional work, there is something in these pages for anyone at any stage of their journey to find neutrality with food. More importantly, through her powerful combination of real talk, science, lived experience, client testimonies, writing style, and a ton of pure love for people, Sandra provides a highly accessible way to help people finally confront the required ‘inside work’ that they have either avoided, or that has been unavailable to them for years, if not decades.

As an atheist, this book has a bit too much "God loves you" for me. Sandra's experience does resonate with me, and there are some great tips to managing cravings and finding peace with food and cravings. I didn't technically read the whole book, but I did focus on particular sections.

wonderfully helpful

I would recommend this book to anyone who has “failed” on diets more times than they can count.
Making self love an action and a habit of mind makes so much sense.
The exercises were worth doing and the message hopeful for those at the end of their rope with food.

I received a pre-release advance copy of Sandra Elia’s book, “Never Enough: The Three Pillars of Food Addiction Recovery.” This book is written both clearly and concisely and sheds important light on the often misunderstood topic of food addiction. Sandra takes the reader on a journey through her own life and the impact that food addiction had on her own life and it provides invaluable insights on how she was able to take control of her food addiction and regain control of her life.

The forward of the book is written by Dr. Vera Tarman who is the author of the book, “Food Junkies” and she validates the underlying premise of Sandra’s book and that is that food addiction is just like any other addiction whether it be alcohol or drug addiction and that it too can be overcome. The first thing that people should do to recover from food addiction is to accept who they are and to have unconditional love for her/him.

As examined in more detail in Sandra’s book, there are three main pillars to overcoming food addiction and they are: 1) Eliminating your trigger foods is the first pillar of achieving food serenity; 2) Developing spirituality and mindfulness is the second pillar; 3) Establishing and belonging to a support network is the third pillar. Sandra expands on all three of these fundamental pillars of food addiction throughout her book.

Each chapter provides the reader with useful insights and practical strategies that will enable a person to better understand and live a much fulfilled life with their food addiction. Although, Sandra’s book would be an invaluable resource for someone who you may know who is struggling with food addiction or for someone who simply wants to maintain a positive outlook in regards to their weight.

One of the most insightful parts of the book was Exercise #1 which challenges the reader to reassess their relationship with their scale and Sandra claims that if a person’s relationship with their scale is quite negative and toxic then they might want to consider breaking up with their scale!

I highly recommend this book as it is an invaluable resource for people who want to fundamentally change how they see themselves and it provides the tools that will empower them and bring about true and lasting change in their life.

It took me a little bit to get into this book — maybe I was afraid to face my own addiction — but once I did, I found “Never Enough” to be an insightful & practical book on food addiction and how to overcome it.

The author, Sandra Elia provides useful strategies in each chapter that will enable a person to better understand & live a much fulfilled life even with their food addiction. The exercises were worth doing and the message hopeful for those that find themselves at the end of their rope with food.

My favourite part of the book was that it really focused on love — self-love & acceptance, and even loving & accepting others. As well, in this book there’s no one meal plan suggested; but rather, Ms. Elia tells us to love ourselves regardless of what we eat or how much, she wants us to love ourselves at our highest weight, no matter what our bodies look like. It is all about love. Love from our Divine/God/Allah, loving ourselves, loving others.

Such a powerful message & inspiring call to action for anyone dealing with food addiction — maybe I’m not cured, and that’s okay, because as she says in the book relapses happen, but this book will help me to stop beating myself up.

I would recommend this read to anyone that struggles with food addiction. 🍎❤️

(Read advanced copy) Sandra Elia’s book “Never Enough” is a powerful read in our journey of self love and unhealthy relationships with food. The tools and mental exercises she gives us are so valuable. She challenges us to dig a little deeper and through this vulnerability we see amazing growth and transformation. The raw beauty and pain we feel in the personal stories show that we aren’t alone in this journey and there is hope. Sandra’s simple but powerful three pillars system reminds us change is done from a place of love not shame. The three pillars are built on a foundation of compassion and self love; eliminating trigger foods, practicing cognitive spirituality/mindfulness and having a support network is key to finding neutrality and peace with food. Highly recommend her book “Never Enough” and also recommend her 28 Day Intensive Program, life changing, absolutely AMAZING!

Just finished an advanced copy of Never Enough and I couldn't put it down. If you or someone you love struggle(s) with food addiction, this book is a must read. Blending the author's own personal experiences, anecdotes from her clients, and loads of practical insights from her years of experience helping individuals recover from food addiction, the book explains why diets don't work, why food addicts don't "lack will power", and how the food industry fuels compulsive eating. Perhaps most importantly, the book explains how a compassionate, loving approach to addiction and science-based understanding of trigger foods can help struggling individuals find food serenity. Highly recommend it!

Never Enough is a must for people who have food addiction and I would like to recommend this book for anyone that would like to explore tendencies in themselves that prevent them from setting healthy boundaries, people pleasers, recognizing their own thoughts that keep them disempowered. The tools are in the book. Sandra writes this book with kindness and love with complete understanding as she has been through everything she teaches.

I hoped to like this book. It had little bits of encouragement that resonated with me, but it just wasn’t interesting enough for me to even finish it. I skipped through the second half of it. I was looking for more in depth emotional eating causes. It just didn’t dig deep enough into the psyche, instead gave more ways to lose weight like 12 twelves and her 3 pillar model. Hopefully it works for you.

Overall, the writing was direct and meaningful. I felt that some sections were repetitive, which is why I gave the book 4 stars. I had body dysmorphia in college, so I was a bit nervous to read this book, as I used to not have a very healthy relationship with food. Now I know it fuels my mind, body, and soul, which Sandra touches upon.

I loved how she stresses that food is fuel to fill up your body, and to love your body and self no matter what weight or shape you're in. I also loved how she stressed ditching the scale, as it isn't about numbers, but how you feel. (YAS QUEEN. 👏)

If you'd like to learn more about food addiction or growing a healthier relationship with food, then this book is for you!
