Emmeline teaches high school biology and always thought of magick as chemistry with a flair. But after she releases Gryphon, a sexy lavender-eyed witch, from an ancient Witchbox, her whole world is turned upside down. Now she faces a once in a lifetime battle with magick she never knew she possessed and the chance to get even with her bitchy boss.
Gryphon, an Earth witch, was next in line to lead the Coven MichAudha. But Megara Caroline, a Fire witch, casts a dark spell to imprison him. With the heir to the throne out of the way, she can grow her power and take the coven for her own.
An ancient prophecy reveals a “Key” will arrive to help Gryphon. They discover it will take their own special chemistry to battle Megaera. In doing so, they save the coven, return the balance of light and dark to the world, and find a forever kind of love.
Although I am not a fan of the romance genre (previously enduring for weeks a romance novel by a leading author), a friend hands me a copy of Sandra Ramsey’s The Witchbox and says it’s worth reading. Imagine my surprise when I can’t put it down! The Witchbox has it all: A plot that unfolds in different times and effortlessly unites the parts, a villain I absolutely despise, endearing characters, a deliciously idiosyncratic sense of humor, and a supremely satisfying denouement. Of course, Ramsey gives readers the hot sex scenes that are part of the genre, but she does so with unparalleled originality. I love great stories, especially love stories, and I will be reading anything Ramsey writes.
