It's summer in Maine, and the sun shines on old friends, new neighbors, and secrets by the sea as mothers and daughters start over in Bay Harbor.
Amelie gets a surprise visitor from the past and finally has a chance at uncovering an old mystery that changed her life. Depending on what she finds, she might have to share a secret of her own...
After drifting apart, sisters Kimmie and Sisley start to reconnect when their new bond is suddenly tested. As if that's not enough, a major life event digs up Sisley's past - and Kimmie is driven to a decision.
Newly divorced, Mela has to find her way in a new relationship - and she's always busy bringing friends and family together in the small seaside town of Bay Harbor.
This series is sooo cute and cozy! This book is made for those of us who want to escape to a dreamy seaside to learn about the gossip and lives of the people who live there.
I love all of the characters! I want to be in their life and be their friends. I want to go see the bees. I want to eat the desserts. This book fully immerses you into the story and their lives and I am just obsessed. I'm excited to see where the next book takes us!
A heartwarming return to Bay Harbor where we get to reconnect with the amazing characters of the first book in this series, Seaside Friends. The focus shifts a little to Amelie, Mela’s friend, as her past catches up with her and she finds herself at a crossroads. She is a great character because she is so easy to relate to and strong and loving in an understated way. Bennett is a loving son to her and quite the clever investigator. Can’t wait to see how he will like returning to Bay Harbor and what life might have in store for him. Perhaps he could help solve a particular mystery that still haunts Mela? Mela and Peter are growing ever closer and enjoying their second chance at love to the fullest. Sisley and Kimmie grow closer, and their bond as sisters is as affecting as it is inspiring. They are both coming out of a relationship, and though their experiences are vastly different, they support each other and heal in the beautiful town of Bay Harbor.
Peter’s brother, Charlie, returns to Bay Harbor and has a surprise up his sleeve. I loved what his presence in the seaside town brought to the story! I also really liked that Peter and Charlie were able to mend fences by sharing truths and shedding new light on the past. The focus of the series is very much on the women protagonists and their amazingly strong sisterhood, which is all kinds of wonderful, but it was lovely to see these brothers reconnect too.
Finding family, friends, love, and a new way forward in an enchanting beachside town. That’s what this series is about. Recommend!
This beautiful novel is a continuation of a storyline started in Seaside Friends. Mela (a divorced mother of 3 adult children) has returned to the last place she lived with her mother before becoming an orphan. Her two daughters, Sisley and Kimmie have joined her. The intertwined lives of these three women, an unexpected aunt, two long-time friends, a new baby, a new boyfriend, an old boyfriend, and the beginning of a honey business, combine to produce a story that is sure to keep you entertained. The ending leaves room for the next book, without being a cliff-hanger. Thanks, Nellie Brooks, for supplying me with this lovely story. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
I like good stories with good drama and dialogue. This one fits the bill. I like how it began where the previous one left off. Things like this don't happen to ordinary people like me, so it gives me the warm fuzzies when I can delve into my imagination and live the lives of these characters Ms Brooks so deftly describes. I look forward to reading more of this story line in the next book, which I will start right away. These are the kinds of books I love to read.
Return to Bay Harbor and an amazing group of friends and family. This is a wonderful story about friendship and love. Many great characters with a wide range of emotions. Relationships from the past definitely have an impact on the present and the future. I couldn’t put it down and look forward to the next story to continue with the happenings of everyone. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
This book is a little undulating like the ocean waves. The characters go in an out of a page. Once you can finally understand it all, it is over. I think the characters are well portrayed and the storyline is interesting. my only problem was was with the pace. I nearly stopped in middle of a few chapters many times. I will give this author another chance in future reads. This book just didn’t do much for me.
I just settle back and read. I can almost hear the waves crashing down against the rocks. When a writer gives you so much of a visual sensation when you read a book you can't put it down . I have to slow down or I will finish it all too fast and like the tides it will go out and I will be on the sand alone. Can't wait to see what happens next.Enjoy!
Again I so enjoyed book 2 as much as the first. Reading it is like a balm to the soul. A nice clean book and a look into the lives of the characters portrayed is so fun to see and I can't wait to read the next one. if you need calm in your life and a smile on your face I recommend this series for your. Get ready to relax and enjoy 😊
I absolutely loved the first book in the series, Seaside Friends, and couldn’t wait to read the next book. I loved the characters and felt like I really got to know them. However, she introduced way too many characters in the second book and has everyone and their brother moving to Bay Harbor…a little far-fetched and over the top.

Mela thought moving to Bay Harbor would be a calming, relaxing change of pace, then her daughters both moved to town. I enjoy reading about the family and the changes they go through. This series has been romantic, heartwarming and very enjoyable.
I am enjoying this series of books so much. Nellie Brooks brings her characters to life in a way that makes you feel like you actually know them. And she is bringing in additional characters to compliment those we already know. Great read!
In Book 2 Mela who is going through a breakup comes back to the little home her had owned. From there a new life emerges. We travel through the ups and downs she goes through....enjoyed the 2nd book very much.
This one isn’t for me - I DNF’d at about 15%. It wasn’t catching my interest like the first. The multiple POVs were too much. I felt like I was being told the story and not experiencing it, if that makes any sense.
I'm addicted to the characters and the stories. I can't wait to purchase the next installment! Highly recommend this book. It is bright and happy. Just what the doctor ordered!
This book is simply wonderful. I can't say enough good things about it, the characters are very likable and supportive roles. It makes me want to bask on a beach .
Another great adventure in Bay Harbor. Mela and all the family and friends take on new and exciting challenges as they explore new and exciting times together.
I'm really enjoying this series. In some ways it gets better and better as I get further into it. Love the characters the story and the scenery. Would love to live in this town.
I love stories about family Dynamics. We should all be so lucky as to have a large family. These are great books and I can see the houses and smell the flowers.
Charlie and Amelia Reconnect! 4.45***** Spoiler Alert
As Mela's family/ tribe grows on Seawater Lane, Sunny, confirmed to be Julie's older adopted half sister, underwent her hip surgery and was recuperating under Johanna's care in Mela's house. Kimmie flew off to South America on a human trafficking story, leaving her house for Sisley and Lovie to live in until her return. While Charlie purchased the house Amelie loved, so Meredith can live in her own house without stressing Amelie any further with her weight issues and hang-ups. Mela and Peter continued to live and grow into each other while renovating the motel with Charlie, his rich younger Aussie cattle rancher brother and tending to bee colonies.
Great easy, family, feel good, quick read, with interesting characters, but we are left wondering what Morris is coming to Bar Harbor with his piano?!? Here money is making life much easier.... And the mean banker is eating crow... ;-)
