Bestselling author Timothy W. Long delivers an up-all night zombie thriller brimming with action.
Jackson Creed and Joel Kelly are back in their biggest adventure yet!
Having escaped a massive horde of undead, Jackson Creed, Marine Sergeant Joel "Cruze" Kelly, Anna, Christy, and their faithful Z-killing dog Frosty find a place to call home. But how long will it last? Tasked with a quick and simple supply run into the quiet streets of Portland with a new and unknown team, their mission quickly goes south. Now trapped without weapons or supplies, they must navigate a town rapidly filling with an unimaginable number of zombies.
Along the way, they stumble upon a doctor with the CDC and her words are tantalizing. She has a cure that will protect against the disease ravaging the country. Will Creed, Kelly, and their new friends be able to survive the night, let alone have a chance to deliver the cure?
When not sitting around watching Rick and Morty reruns in a bathrobe, Timothy W. Long writes stuff. He has a predilection for weird literature and sometimes drinks Coke for breakfast. Don't tell his mom.
Tim is the author of over 30 novels in genres ranging from cozy/Isekai, to all manner of post-apocalyptic because no one has managed to take away his word processor.
Tim is an active member of SFWA, HWA, and Thriller Writers. He recently signed a three-book deal with Aethon Books for his Dark Lord Reborn Series.
4.5 rounded up. All the good stuff I've come to like in this series. Jackson's snark. The sense of brotherhood and the sense of chosen family. Kicking zombie butt.
But this one delves deeper into the world Long has created. We see that there are some agendas. People who may be (probably are) more than they seem. Hints at a dark seed to how the whole zombie apocalypse happened here. This one moved the story forward a lot more than the other two books before it, so that was cool.
Joel “Cruze” Kelly, Jackson “fu@“ing stupid” Creed and Co. Have made it to the newly established military base on one of the islands in Portland. Joel had finally found his unicorn, a unit that was fighting back or at least that’s what he thought, why does nothing ever go as planned? So when offered the chance to go on a straightforward supply run (no seriously it’s going to be easy) Joel volunteers Jackson and himself to tag along. It’s a step in the right direction right? O r it would have been if everything went according to plan. Once again Jackson meets more new people, the vast majority are already dead and unlikely to win any beauty contests. Although he does meet, a doctor, an okay guy and a jerk and they have shocking new information. I’ve binge read this series in under a week, an often gory zombie saga that’s well worth reading.
Creed, Joel, Anna, Christy, and Frosty make it to a safe haven. An island off of Portland, Oregon where for the first time they feel safe. Joel and Creed agree to do a short run into Portland with Alan and DJ. What could go wrong?? Everything. This book was action packed and full of wild action. New types of Zs attack and they run into a small group of survivors with news that is shocking. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. Great series and I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you Timothy W. Long for an action packed day of reading.
Interesting story and characters, crappy proofing & editing!
I like the characters and storyline but the inferior proofreading and sheer boneheaded plotline mistakes really subtract from the overall experience and enjoyment. Add to the fact that I am former military and know a lot about the branches and equipment, makes most of the mistakes that should have been proof read out, very easily, glare at you all throughout the books, just frustrating! On the plus side, the story and characters keep the books interesting enough to keep reading. Thank God for Kindle Unlimited!!!
I was so excited when I saw the new Z-Risen book available! It's been a minute and I was so looking forward to seeing what happened! This one is a little different. It's still action packed and back to back but its nowhere near fast paced.
I liked this book because it had good character development and a decent plot. It has a lot of humor in it. It is weird to laugh while reading about a zombie apocalypse. I couldn't help myself. It has the kind of quirky humor I adore.
So I have finished book 6 looking book 7 and I am enjoying this story and if I wasn’t I wouldn’t have read the last 6. Take chance read the books and enjoy
It’s nonstop action with humor thrown in. Great characters and storyline that comes alive. Author is great at writing and keeping the reader involved and interested
