Sequel to Silent Child

Thrilling and brilliant!

Better than the first book and the first book was bloody excellent.

Couldn’t ask for better characters they were great even the evil ones.

Lots of twists and turns and turns and twists, which I loved and kept me on my toes.

Stolen Girl will keep you hooked until the final word is read.

It was so emotional for me to come back to Emma and Aiden's story. I thought it'd be difficult writing from their perspectives again, but it was like putting on your comfiest pair of shoes. These two characters mean the world to me, and I truly hope you enjoy the conclusion to their stories.

Aiden has a voice in this sequel, and he has to use it in order to bring his family back together. It felt like the perfect way for his arc to end.

Also, Aiden's Story is included in Stolen Girl, so you can read that short story set between Silent Child and Stolen Girl too.

My Review:
Loved!!!!! It was so dark and twisted. I read it in just a few sittings. There was so much going on and what I thought I knew was happening really was not. This book really through me for a loop. I didn’t know how this author was going to top the first book in this series but she came pretty close. I thought the first book was the end to their story but there is always more to it than what we know. Now I truly feel that this is the end. What more can we possibly want to know. I know all my questions were answered. I have to say that this author does not disappoint. I get so lost in her books and the storyline. I literally lose chunks of time while reading her books. I don’t know how she does it. I can’t wait to read more by this author. There is one last part of this story I have to read which is Aiden’s Story. I am very much looking forward to learning what happened to him in the bunker. It is a short story and I can’t wait to dive into it tonight.

In conclusion, the plot, the characters and all the twists in this book made this book an enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend it and happily give it 5 Hearts❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved it!

I don't know if it was as good as the first book but it is still good! You kinda saw it coming, except where the little girl was the whole time! Still it makes your blood run cold, thinking something like that could happen to your own child!! Scary!!

We return to find Emma, Aiden & the now 4-year-old Gina, still trying to navigate their way through everyday life since that traumatic day.

Gina is beautiful, vibrant & untouched by the past, but how long can that last?

Aiden learning to adjust to his new norm and finding his voice.

And Emma, trying desperately to regain the control she lost, but with all the pain, grief, and emotional upheaval they have all been through, something will surely break!

I loved Silent Child. It reminded me why I love Suspense/Thrillers so much and so, Stolen Girl had a lot to live up to!

Did it? OH MY GOD, YES!

First, I love being able to hear Aiden's voice. His feelings, emotions, hates, desires, everything that he doesn't say outloud we hear it.

I am sure like most, the title is an indication of what happens, but to say that is just the tip of the iceberg, is an understatement.

For me, I really enjoyed the 2 different POVs (Emma's & Aiden's) both giving the readers plenty to think about, ponder over, and even come to your own conclusions and I made plenty of those.
It is another roller coaster of a ride taking you through all the highs to the lowest of lows. Feeling a plethora of emotions towards both main characters, sometimes, not anger but annoyance wishing you could jump into the book and stop/help them.
And just like Silent Child, you think you know, that your crime-fighting inner detective has worked it all out, but I can promise you this book has even more twists & turns.

The final thing I will say, I loved how the relationship between Emma & Aiden developed. From the perspective of a parent, as crazy and irrational as some of Emma's decisions are/were I completely understand where she is coming from.
From a reader's point of view, I might have wanted to scream at her (and Aiden, too) because you know what they aren't privy to.

WOW!! Stolen Girl by Sarah A. Denzil totally blew my mind! I absolutely love missing person cases and this one had a totally different spin on it. Stolen Girl is a follow up to Sarah’s Silent Child book. I admit to not reading Silent Child (oh I wish I had though) but you can easily comprehend Stolen Girl as a standalone.

Ebook Launch did an incredible job creating and designing Stolen Girl’s cover. It is absolutely beautiful.

One thing I loved about Stolen Girl was that Sarah included Aiden’s story at the end of the book. We got to hear his side of the story in his own words. For me it made it more personal and summed up a lot of loose ends.

Unlike any missing person cases I have read prior I enjoyed knowing that you knew who kidnapped Gina. However, It was oh so twisted and such a good storyline as to the motive behind it!

My heart went out to Emma so many times within the storyline! No mother should have to be put through what she had to endure.

I totally could sympathize with Emma when you say you are fine but you are not telling the whole truth. You tell people what they want to hear to make them happy. I totally get where she was coming from.

Stolen Girl is the follow up to Silent Child & it packs a similar punch. We follow the same main characters Emma & Aiden as, I'm sure it won't come as a shock with the title, Ginny gets taken. As you can imagine if you've read any Sarah Denzil it's not as simple as that & there are plenty of twists & back stories that draw you further in to the action. For me this had a little more action than Silent Child & I really liked the tension that ran through the drama.

It was great to hear the story told from both Emma & Aiden's perspective, helping to explain their actions & increasing the scope of the story.

This book is awful. I gave 3 stars to Silent child even though Emma constantly peeves me off. She’s still irritating as hell and screams at Auden a lot. Hello Emma, you moron, that is not how you get through to a mentally scarred abused person🙄

The plot fails, its boring as all get out and some characters just appear for no reason but to fill the wholes in the plot

I loved this book it was so good at times Emma annoyed me but I adored Aiden in this one seeing him all grown up was lovely to see it felt like I knew these characters like I was with them from book one and Sarah makes them so loveable that you feel them as if they were your neighbours next door irl because they felt real and this thriller was so good I wished we could see them again one day if there was a book three

I wanted to review the books after I read them both. They were good. The twists in them were toward the end but the story kept me going. The first book was told by one POV and the second was told by three. I liked the different POV’s in the second book. It gave me a better understanding of the characters and their thoughts.

I rounded up to 4 stars from my 3.75 rating. I had wished for more twists in the first half, not wanting to wait until more than halfway through.

All in all both were well written. Emma sometimes was a little annoying but other than that I enjoyed them both.

Emma’s second child was kidnapped. She’s been here before with Aidan. What started with Aidan has happened to Gina. Someone wants to rattle Emma’s nerves.

It’s been four years since Aidan’s returned to the land of the living. He’s adjusting to his life and the famous status the public has warranted him. Although, Aidan gets crucified for his captivity. People don’t think he understands the world because he lost touch with the world for ten years.

All Emma wants to do is shelter her children from the world. She keeps Gina on a short leash and Aidan in a controlled environment.

Stolen Girl begins four years after Aiden was found in the underground bunker with Hugh. He’s twenty years old, yet he has no direction on his life.
Stolen Girl picks up where Silent Child ended. I was curious how Sarah was going to create a second story about Aidan. In some ways this is Aidan’s way of showing growth while also showing how Emma can face the same challenges she did when Aidan was taken. This experience is a learning curve to the both of them to help bond them as mother and son. It’s a way to get back the lost time. Both become amateur coach detectives as they piece together pieces of their past.

Sarah navigates a realistic set of circumstances on how Emma and Aidan deal with news outlets, police investigators, and social media during this critical moment in their lives.
Eventhough it’s been quite a few months since I’ve read Silent Child it was easy to pick up this book and get right back into the story. Sarah added the necessary details to help assimilate the key notes of information pertaining to the first book into the second book this transition helped bridge book 1 into book 2.

Idk why I’m Reading this because I hated silent child. Maybe I thought Aiden would have more development. But this book is awful.

Emma is annoying as ever. If I hear her talk about how every part of her body is exhausted or how she ate toast one more time… of course she doesn’t listen to anyone.

The cops took their phones and they didn’t check out this “faith” person sooner?

Aiden doesn’t suspect this Faith of talking to press about the ransom note? He’s THAT stupid after being abducted that he doesn’t suspect an internet rando of being a liar? Especially bc she’s always talking shit about his mom?

Emma hasn’t figured out by now that biting Aidens head off isn’t the way to get through to him?? And she hasn’t checked his IG chats by now? Your kid is missing and he’s naive AF. I’d have checked that shit. Sorry not sorry.

Rob exists as a sad plot device and not an actual person. It’s annoying.

Also this is an audiobook and I know everyone loves JF but i can’t stand her overacting and quivering voice. It doesn’t fit. And the voice they chose for Aiden is terrible.

I haven’t finished it but 99% sure I’ve figured out the “twist” already. Will update because I can’t DNF this one, I have to know if I’m right haha. But I’m skipping through all the repeats.

It's bad enough to have one child taken, but both of your children??? Emma no sooner got back her son, when her daughter is taken from school. Turns out her old enemy from the first book in the series, Amy, had a master revenge planned for Emma. Although you could possibly read this as a stand-alone novel, it's best to read the first book in the series before this one. It makes the story easier to understand if you know the previous history. Emma is again faced with fighting to get her child back and will stop at nothing to do just that. A good story with some action. Not as many big twists as in the first book, but I still enjoyed this one. It's a nice continuation into the family and what their future holds. It's also a reminder that the "monsters" in their past can come back to haunt them in many ways. A story of tragedy, jealousy, revenge and survival. A good read.

This was a sequel to The Silent Child and another audible listen with the brilliant Joanne Frogatt.

Following on from Aidan’s ten years in captivity and escape in the first book this one sees Emma, Aiden and Gina struggling to settle back into normality. Notorious from the events in the first book, and with Emma keeping her children within arms reach at all times Aiden tries to assert his independence by going on a chat show to introduce his recently published book of paintings. Whilst at the TV studios the unthinkable happens and another of Emma’s children is kidnapped. Reaching breaking point can Emma go through all this again, discover who is behind the kidnap and save her daughter.

A worthy sequel to the first book that ties things up neatly whilst taking you on a rollercoaster. An extra star for the marvellous Joanne!

I liked this quite as much as the first! Denzil just writes gripping thrillers and I cannot stop listening to the audiobook performance by Joanne Froggatt. This time she is joined by two new voices, Rosalie Craig and Gerran Howell, who were also outstanding. If I had to be critical, I suppose the story wasn't as impactful as the first had been with Aiden's disappearance because we were familiar with most of the characters already, and Emma's introspection did honestly become a bit repetitive. But I definitely appreciate the resilience of Emma and her clever, fighter's spirit. It was also great to see Aiden develop and grow into adulthood, slowly but surely.

Such a great sequel

I read the first book in this series awhile back but when I realized a second book had come out, I reread it and then immediately moved on to this book...
What a great read. I couldn't put it down and it really was an excellent way to continue this story. Although the first book wrapped things up nicely, I do enjoy the continuation and having so many of the first books main and side characters returning made it that much more enjoyable and cohesive.

There was so much going on in this book.

I don't remember much from the first book in this series, only that Aiden had been kidnapped and held for a long time and escaped, so I had to play catch up for a while. I didn't remember Emma leaving Amy alive.

With that said.. This book was entirely too far-fetched for me. None of it seemed realistically possible because there is no way that Emma would have left Amy alive in the first book. Had she not done that, nothing in this book would have happened.

So I had a hard time enjoying it because that's all I thought the entire time.

Imagine living your worst nightmare twice. Reading this book I kept thinking “not again”. You get this insight into how Aidan is coping with life after the bunker and it’s not this happily ever after which I loved because real life isn’t like that.
I felt like I just couldn’t connect with Emma the same way in this story as I did in Aidan’s. After the events of the first story, Emma becomes neurotic and overbearing. While I think this is probably very realistic to how a mother would actually react, it goes a bit far at times.
The way the story plays out is great overall though.

Evil exists

Evil exists in the world and children are often the target of such evil. Be it kidnapping, abortion, or abuse. This book brings it all to the forefront. Trauma isn't something that one simply walks away from. I'm glad that mental health and therapy were touched on in these books because the trauma of what surviving go through has to be something they should have to walk alone.

I bought this in an airport because I finished another book. I didn't realize until I started reading it that it was a sequel. At times, I felt like I didn't know what was going on. But, I was able to figure it out enough that the story was very good. I enjoyed reading it.

The story moved along at a good pace, had a couple of unexpected twists. The end, after the mystery was solved, was kind of slow.

I would read another book by Sarah A. Denzil.

fully recommend reading this after silent child

I really enjoyed this book, having read the first book, silent child, I had built a fondness for the characters, wanted to learn how their lives took shape, hoping for them to have a happy ending. I also felt the writers writing had really really improved in this book, although brilliant in the first book, I felt in this book she had upped her game. A really enjoyable story
