Finding Anna

Rate this book
ANNA
I’ve been living the life of a dead girl since I was ten years old. It was part of my mother’s plan to keep me safe. But after nine years, they’ve finally found me. Oliver Wright, my captor, has the answers I seek, but at a price I’m not sure I can afford.

I escape him, only to find myself captured by a different man. This time, the price I’ll pay is much higher. My new abductor, Dylan Lorenz, wants the real me. He wants Anna Velasquez, the girl I used to be. He strips away my false persona, opening my eyes and body to a part of me I never knew existed.

Will he help me find myself?
Will he keep his promise to protect me?
Or will I get so lost in Dylan’s dominance, I lose everything?

DYLAN
I thought I could use the girl to finally take down Oliver Wright, the man who stole my sister, killed my mother, and destroyed so many innocent girls.

After I take her, I realize she’s not the woman I thought she was. Now, instead of using her to find Oliver, I want to help her find herself. I’m going to bind her to me in ways that will make her never want to escape me. With one kiss, I wake my sleeping beauty, and I plan to awaken every single part of her. She is strong, yet submissive. She’s confused by my methods, but she craves them none-the-less.

Oliver will never forget her. He wants his revenge, and he won’t stop until he finds her. I need to finish this. She’s finally living her own life. I can’t let him take that from her.

Will she let me pull her out of the darkness?
Will she keep her promise to trust me?
Or will I get so lost in Anna’s submission, I lose everything?

Heart-rending and Sexy

LM Terry, I am unsure how you amass so much into one book. I was on a roller coaster of emotions. The descriptive writing was like "watching" a foreign film with subtitles. I couldn't stop reading. I am addicted to these characters and I want to help them myself. So now I am taking my passport and going on the adventures of LM Terry....

Intriguing, dark, emotional and leaving me a sobbing mess at the last chapter!!

Well written debut novel in the dark romance, non con captive genre with elements of consensual BDSM and one terrific love story. Fans of interactions in the world of human trafficking such as Pepper Winters Monsters in the dark and CJ Roberts Captive in the Dark should enjoy. To my relief was not a cliffhanger and every detail tied up sufficiently with a HEA, but the saga is to continue in the next book which gratefully the author is currently working on! I will be pleased to recommend to friends, acquaintances and fellow genre lovers in my Facebook groups.Especially since noting that although the reviews rate highly, there are way to few!
I will advise regarding some brief confusion I experienced early on as the storyline pivots abruptly and changes with little explanation of how the heroine arrives from point A to point B. However I soon caught on but clearly that transition could have been more detailed and fleshed out for a smoother progression of a major plot twist. As always,I prefer my reviews to be spoiled free so other than revealing this dropped my rating to a 4 .5 star,I will not reveal specific plot details.
Thank.you LM Terry for a dark, intense, sexy, enjoyable reading experience just as I prefer and get dealing on book 2,Finding Addison! XXOO

Before we start, make sure you read the trigger warnings for this book as it definitely addresses the darker sides of humanity. Among other things, this story addresses the difference between dominance play and abuse and while it is obvious the difference for most, I think this book could be helpful for some who are questioning the morality of certain sexual acts. I could see where some would expect Sarah/Anna (the main female character) to favor a submissive role due to her experiences with traffickers, but I caution against that line of thinking. Dylan (the main male character) provides a safe environment in which Sara/Anna can explore her feelings and define who she is, which would not be possible without trust.

Terry also explores the blurred lines of good versus evil. Can good people do evil things? Can evil people do good things? Is anything ever that simple?

Definitely jumping into book 2.

living a lie

For nine years Anna is living as another sent away by her parents. When she turns nineteen she finds herself alone with only a letter. Then she is kidnapped by Oliver where terrible things happen!

Dylan has been trying to find his missing sister for years and is tracking Oliver. When the FBI get Sarah/Anna back Dylan takes her planning to use her to get to Oliver. Sometimes the best laid plans don’t go as planned.

I felt for Anna that her whole life she has had to be something she wasn’t. While it was a good story I just want not super engaged but I think that was more me rather then the story. It is well written. With the suspense of both Dylan gets revenge for his sister and Anna finds herself to her being kidnapped. The D/S I felt was alittle forced into the narrative. Over all good book so rating it a 4 ⭐️.

Started off ok but once Dylan kidnapped Anna it all became ridiculous.

Dylan goes from hate to insta love in a freaking second and is over the top madly in love m lust. Its just too unrealistic n stupid. He's all over her like a rash, breakfast in bed, cooking her meals n generally wooing her. Which I guess some would find romantic, me, after a day of kidnapping her I just find it unbelievable and its spoilt the story for me.

Waste of a potentially good story.

Oh n what a surprise, in the back end of nowhere he goes shopping to the small town n there just happens to be a sex shop? Seriously

Nope not for me

Okay, as someone that has read L.M. Terry's Skull series, this was a disappointing read. The book was unrealistic and it felt like Dylan was taking advantage or an inexperienced girl (he like the fact she was a virgin) who was traumatized by having just been kidnapped ans assault and on top of that saw someone she cared about die just after finding out her family's dead. Then, moving onto Anna, she felt like she was just a ball of insecure lust which is fine I'm not saying she can't have lust but her character didn't have enough depth to dive into why as someone that has JUST gotten out of a sexual assault experience would want a man that she can find a lot of parallels with her kidnapper. Also the way Dylan jumped from hating her for being engaged to Oliver to being obsessed. He was dumb. The thought she would have been forced never passed his thoughts, and he's not the only idiot I'm this book. When your kidnapper calls to threaten you, maybe you should tell you "protector" as soon as possible.

Finding Anna book 1 of the Hidden Series by LM Terry came as a refreshing surprise for me. I had not read anything from this author before so I had no idea on her writing style.

I found Finding Anna engaging, entertaining, and easy to read. I was drawn in from the first chapter. The storyline flowed seamlessly. It had me intrigued and curious. Though this was about human trafficking, there were aspects that I related to as far as fear, social anxiety, sexuality and trust.

I loved her strong character along with her weaknesses. I understood the social anxieties that held her captive. I know the hardships of learning to trust in someone completely after such an ordeal. Hiding within herself to get through the horrors that was plaguing her. It's all so very real.

I was captivated with this story because it was relatable, not in a direct way, but relatable none the less.

OK, so it was interesting overall and flowed well.

But I had a lot of plot problems with this:

* the switch between virgin h and her enjoying BDSM whipping level happened way too quickly for me. Same with her falling into submissive type. She was kneeling/calling him sir, kinda out of nowhere.
* the love was way too insta; I don't mind insta-lust, but here it just didn't work for me.
*she was raped twice, and one time (BJ one) was too glossed over; arguable the second time was more we were told not shown, which kinda diminishes the resolution impact.
* was strange mixture of tone between some light heartedness and really heavy topics. Idk, maybe just me?

To keep her safe Anna is forced to live her life as Sarah, but as she turns 19, she finds herself alone and in danger. She escapes her evil predator but finds herself captured by the brother of her childhood friend who wants to use her as bait.

Dylan has plans to use Anna as a means to lure Oliver out of hiding, but soon changes his mind and wants to protect her.

L M Terry never disappoints with her dark stories with bright flecks of light shining through, Finding Anna is packed with action, tension, danger, trauma and love. The epilogue will leave you desperate for the next book.

great captive romance

I chose this story on my “kindle recommendation” page after reading similar stories. I liked this because it had a main female character being taken captive and then rescued. One of my favorite types. Great writing and the characters were nicely done as well.

amazing story telling!

I can’t get enough of her books! The characters are amazing and make you feel for them. I love the way she is able to tell a story about trauma and healing from trauma without making us as the reader experience the trauma, that’s hugely
Important to me. It gives just enough of dark, healing and spice to be a can’t put down book!

I had a love - hate relationship with this book. Dylan’s character was too overboard. From kidnapping, to insta love, to his kink - it didn’t quite work. The timeframe between what Ann went through and her, let’s call it sexual awakening was way too compact. However, it was an interesting storyline and the writing was a nice, easy read.

There was something about the pacing that I could just not get over. It felt a little too forced and the timeline jumped around too much for my liking.
The book was not terrible, but was not enough to keep me interested in the rest of the series.

Finding something worth fighting for....

A dark twisted romantic story of what humans divide love and to love. A mother's love, parents who have loved and lose. Then evil people who want to abuse and destroy love in every way possible. Then the beauty of love between two people who discover their own love. In Saving Anna weaver and read about all of these within the pages. From page one to the last word. You won't be able to put this story down until you read what happens next. I wanted to laugh, cry and throw my kindle at the wall all at the same time. If you want a dark roller coaster of a ride read this. Read how Anna and Dylan found their happiness thru all the evil together. Saving their love and others in the process.

Good quick read

The storyline for this book was really good. It kept me interested and I had a hard time putting it down. The BDSM wasn't for me. But the storyline made up for it. Can't wait to read her other books.

I really enjoyed this book and the storyline involved. However, the spelling and grammar errors drove me insane. I had to re-read sentences multiple times to understand what it was trying to say, due to the lack of commas.
