Don’t know what everyone else is reading but my book isn’t worth 5 stars.
Just didn’t feel it.
The first 300 pages she is with someone else.
I thought they would be on a bus touring, didn’t happen.
To long to slow to boring only to find out there is another book.
So cliffhanger, that wasn’t necessary.
Should have been done in 1 book
Can’t be bothered to find out the end.
Was promised a sexy book, missed that part.
Said I needed tissues, no missed that part too.

Don't waste you time.

Terrible and way too slow. Bunch of cry babies. I skimmed through it because it just droned on and on. Good thing this book was free!!

"Madison Prescott was the music in my life. More real than any note on a sheet of paper could ever be. More than any chords from my guitar."

Sam Stevens thought he had it all and was on top of the world until one night it all crashed down. His wife walked right out the door on him and their little girls without so much as a glance back at them. It has taken him two years to get back to a somewhat normal life. One day his friend Riley shows up and tells him it is time to make music again. Sam is very straight with Riley telling him the girls come first and if he wants him to do a six month tour the girls are to be with him which results in Riley hiring a nanny. The last thing Sam expected was to be rocked to his core when his eyes lock with the nanny for the first time.

Madison Prescott has lived a life mostly on by herself other than her sister and her parents. She has agreed to meet with the country superstar who needs a nanny for his little girls and is taken aback by his reaction to her. After being offered and accepting the job she gradually starts spending time with Sam and his girls. She doesn't miss the way her body reacts to him when he is in close proximity to her nor does she miss him sneaking glimpses at her from time to time because she does it to.

These two....oh boy these two with the push and pull between them. The tension that is so freaking hot I thought my kindle would melt. This has got to be the slowest burn I have ever read in my life but I was there for all of it. I loved the many, many moments these two would have and you would think they were finally going to give in and it didn't happen. I found myself wanting to yell at them but then I realized that by the author having all these "almost" moments with them it build their story so much more, it made it that much better. POSSIBLE SPOILER...............these two fall in love without ever even having an actual date. Their attraction is so intense that just by being around each other 24/7 and trying not to fall in love has them falling in love. It is so beautiful!

Of course, if you are familiar with Emmanuelle Snow's works you KNOW it is never an easy ride for her couples. Sam and Maddie were a little bit more gentle on the readers. I honestly thought I was going to get through one of her books with my emotions in tact and then I was smacked in the face with emotions (that tends to happen with her books). I will admit I thought she was going somewhere else with the story and I am so glad she didn't go the direction I thought.

Legend and Country is a tale of single dad getting a chance at real love and a young woman finally having someone lover her the way a man should love a woman. Maddie fills the void that Sam's ex-wife left within his heart and his daughters! This story that will have you reaching for your tissues and possibly cursing Ms. Snow a couple times will leave you with a happy heart when it is all said and done!

I really enjoyed the story; I didn't want to put it down waiting to see if any lines would be crossed. The chemistry was there, the longing was there, but duty and morals conflicted. Ready for book 2.

Emmanuelle has a way of writing characters that are very relatable. I was so immersed in their story. I cried, laughed, got nervous, worried, and sad. All the emotions. Their story was absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say there is not one story or couple I love more than the other because they each have such strong and amazing stories in their own ways.
Emmanuelle writes such strong woman.

[2.5 Stars😑] I picked up Emmanuelle Snow's Fallen Legend as part of Amazon's Stuff Your Kindle Day because the premise intrigued me. However, I felt let down by the dialogue and writing. Overall, this story was forgettable, but because this one ended on a cliffhanger, I read the second book. I'm unsure if Emmanuelle Snow's writing is for me, but I might try to pick up another book by her soon.

felt like book was drug out. same thing over and over. started to get better towards end… then ends on weird cliffhanger telling you to get next book. next book is not on kindle unlimited so you have to buy, which would be fine but i’m worried it’s going to be lackluster and drawn out like this one.

I can’t get past the SIX year old talking like she’s 20 years old… has this author ever been around a 6 year old???

The book itself was boring… i kept waiting for something, ANYTHING to happen. Not much.

Also: Why did they never go on tour??

Major waste of time. The book dragged on forever only to end on a cliffhanger. I don't even know if you could call if a slow burn it was so painfully slow.
Huge negative for me that the first book of the series is on kindle unlimited but the second is not.

I really enjoyed this book! This is part one of a two part story.

Sam Stevenson is a country music legend. He shot to fame young and has lived large. He finally settled down with his wife Lisa and started a family. Abruptly, Sam stepped away from his career to care for his girls when Lisa couldn't anymore. He spent two years being a good father and repairing his broken heart before his best friend and fellow music industry pal swooped in and told him it was time to stop licking your wounds. Rylie made arrangements to help Sam and his daughters Justine and Mikayla get on to the next stages of their lives. He arranged for Maddison a well revered nanny to go on tour with Sam and his girls to sort of be their teacher and nanny in advance of the tour.

Madison is loveable, responsible, and whip smart. She's had more life experience than most do by the age of twenty-one, and relates to the trauma the girls went through losing their mother. She quickly falls in love with the girls and the girls with her, and they become inseparable. Except when she realizes she's got feelings for Sam, when she shouldn't, her best friend/ "not"boyfriend Jacob doesn't like it and calls her on it, tossing around ultimatums. Possessiveness does not look good on you, Jacob.

I love the push and pull between Sam and Maddie and how the author presents Sam's heartbreak and struggles. I do wish at this point in the story that we got a bit more of Maddies story. We are slowly getting there, but I think she's still a bit of a mystery to the reader.

I love the integral roles fatherhood plays in Sam's life and that his daughters are always number one, even over his own wants and desires. That's so commendable and makes him even more swoonworthy. Justine is cute as a button, and Mika is 6 going on 16 and giving her daddy a run for his money.

Right now, I am anxious to read the second book because I have so many theories about what's about to go down between Sam and Maddie and the girls. I just can't wait. I'm greedy and wish this was all written into one book.

One thing I really enjoy about Emmanuelle Snow's writing is that it's heartfelt and well thought out, but it's also straightforward and to the point. There's not a lot of fluff and extra stuff that doesn't need to be there. Which I am thankful for. She's not trying to appeal to everyone and put stuff where it doesn't belong. You can tell she writes from the heart.

So if you like:
🩷 age gap (he's 9 years older)
🩷 celebrity romance
🩷 falling for the nanny
🩷single dad - minus the dad bod
🩷kids present and important.
🩷song lyrics
🩷 Found Family
🩷past trauma
🩷angsty/ tension/ slow burn

Then you will love this book as much as I do.

Formerly Legend and Country (Carter Hills Band 7), now part 1 of the Lonesome Heart Duet.

I absolutely adore Emmanuelle Snow - all of her books (I’ve read all 7 Carter Hills Band series now), and her as a person. She’s just so incredible! A brilliant author (amazing!), and such a kind and beautiful person.

Legend and Country - WOW! This one has so much depth, so many layers and emotions … so much going on here. It really needs all 580 pages for you to experience everything and heal along with the characters.

Sam, musician extraordinaire (nickname “Legend”, formerly friend of the Carter Hills Band, and who we know from previous books, a tiny bit), left the country music scene when his wife left him and his two very young daughters because being a wife and mom just wasn’t for her, leaving behind three broken people.

Fast forward two years, and Riley (manager), who we know and love from the previous books, tries to bring Sam back from the depths of depression and barely surviving, by getting him to think about getting back into music and touring again, with a nanny he’s heard of. Enter Madison… who changed everything, even though she’s had a hard life, and things continue being extremely difficult with twists that no one could have ever predicted (because every Emmanuelle Snow book has to have extreme circumstances that bring out all the tears, even for this non-emotional reader, and that’s just life)!!

It’s absolutely incredible, heart-wrenching, tearjerker (get tissues and chocolate and wine ready), and you won’t want to put it down so make sure you have a really long block of time free. One of her absolute best, and one of the very best books around, and probably of this whole year (yeah, I know it’s only January)!

I received an advance review copy from the author, and this is my honest feedback.

Every Emmanuelle Snow book I read, I keep thinking to myself, they cant get better and more completely heart wrenching then this, right? WRONG. Legend and Country is a true emotional rollercoaster that is the perfect blend of women's fiction, contemporary, romance and spice.

Sam "The Legend" Stevens is angry, grumpy and mad at the world - and he has every right to be, his wife left him and their two young girls without any reason, leaving him to be the sole caregiver. As he is a country singer, he hires Maddie, a nanny to take care of the girls. Maddie's positive attitude starts to rub off on Sam. Romance ensues.

Emmanuelle has this uncanny way of creating characters that feel so completely realized, that when they experience emotions and experiences, you share in their trauma, in their happiness and in their pain. The very first chapter I had tears in my eyes, which is quite a feat! This book was a perfect slow burn - the romance and spice was perfect, but the emotional connection was even better. I have always loved the way that Emmanuelle is able to create such deep connections between characters - this heavily realized through themes of healing, centering, chasing dreams, understanding and empathy. It really does go beyond the traditional romance.

There were some of my FAVORITE tropes - such as age-gap, grumpy-sunshine, forced-proximity, slow burn, second-chance-romance and my new favorite dad-nanny heyyyy. I have also added another book boyfriend to the roster - and can I say, I have never had ANY interests in Country romances, yet here I am, every time Emmanuelle has a book come out, completely devouring it. I am 100% a convert.

Thank you Emmanuelle for sending me this ARC - all the thoughts in this review are my own <3

“Whether we want it or not, we’re tied together by some invisible thread neither of us can escape.”

Emmanuelle Snow has done it again! Legend and Country is an epic rockstar, single dad & the nanny romance. This powerful, heartwarming, slow-burn love story will break your heart on page one and slowly piece it back together. I live on the fence when it comes to age-gap romance; though nine years is not a big difference in the grand scheme, it all depends on the ages and seasons of life of the main characters. Though Maddie and Sam are in vastly different life stages, her life experiences, brilliance, and worldliness have shaped her into a dynamic character with a maturity beyond her twenty-one years. Sam’s recent devastation sent him on a path of robotic routine, his daughters the only joy in his life. Until he meets the effervescent, enchanting Maddie. Her beguiling, endearing, kindhearted nature brings light to his daughters’ lives and melts the icy walls around Sam’s heart. I loved Sam and Maddie’s sizzling chemistry and journey to their hard-fought HEA. Emmanuelle threads music through each story of the Carter Hills Band series and I love every lyric! Mikaella and Justine are darling kids who instantly steal Maddie’s heart. Legend and country is a heart-wrenching, refreshing, and lovely opposites attract, age-gap romance.

2.5⭐️ ??

I don’t know… I wanted to love this, but it was really annoying that the MFC was with another guy for the first 70% of this book. Honestly, I felt bad for the other guy - he was madly in love with this girl, but she wouldn’t sleep with him or commit to him because “her heart would be broken” when she left on tour to be the musician’s nanny (the MMC). She friendzoned him and the guy deserved so much better than her immature ass.

By the end of this book, the two main characters only had one make-out session. I understand that it’s a duet, but they’re both secretly in love with each other and NOTHING HAPPENED. They haven’t even left for the tour yet. The book literally ends with the MMC jerking off while thinking about the MFC.

Sigh. Will I read the second book. Definitely - but I expect payoff! Am I adding anything else by this author to my TBR? Absolutely not.

Fallen Legend by Emmanuelle Snow

I really enjoyed this book. This is Sam and Madison’s journey and you are going to love it. Sam is a country music legend. One that had managed to keep his personal life extremely quiet. Sam stepped away from the spotlight when his wife left him and his two girls behind. Now years later his manager is trying to get him into his music and touring. This is where Madison comes in. Madison is hired to nanny and teacher while they are on tour with Sam. I loved that she related with the girls over their experience. I loved the dynamics between her and the girls. Once she develops feelings for Sam things get a little complicated but I love that everything works out in the end for all them. I loved this book and would highly recommend.

Sam »the legend« Stevens has had his entire world destroyed when his (ex) wife walks out and leaves him to raise their 2 girls.

He's closed off and is doing all it takes to make sure his daughters are taken care of. But now the opportunity of a lifetime is presented to him and he wants to take it. Enters Maddie who’s a young girl, who's had a rough childhood and when she's presented the opportunity to work for Sam and help take care of the girls, she's all in. These two have a lot to workout in order to make their relationship work and I'm here for it.

Nothing happened in this book, literally nothing. She had a different boyfriend for 80% of the book and nothing happened between Madison and Sam except one measly kiss. It repeated itself over and over again, they kept going on about how/why they couldn't be together so often it just got annoying. Worse of all it ended on a supposed cliffhanger but I honestly don't care enough to read the next book to find out what happens.

The kids were cute though.

Sorry but if an author is doing books that aren’t stand alone, SAY. IT. AT. THE. BEGINNING.

I’d have never gotten this book had I known it was a cliffhanger, you must read the next one or two to finish the story.

This wasn’t my favorite story and I’ve no intention of purchasing the next.

Sorry.

I’m here for gooey romance, and the grump to happy, I just feel there was a lot that didn’t need to happen.
A whole other man involved, crazy deep emotion from nowhere - it’s your basic romance, good feeling reading but it’s never going to be the ultimate read. I’ll go onto book 2, purely for the plot line, but it is what it’s sold as.
