When Zara and Lessie finally escape the Hellmouth, the last thing they expect is to wake up in Muza's hidden lair. There, they stumble into an impossible secret that just might be the key to defeating their enemies, reclaiming their home, and freeing the dragons from the dragon-rider slavery bond once and for all.
But the Dragon God, thwarted from regaining his true form, is out for revenge. And if Zara and Lessie are not careful, they may end up being swallowed by his mighty shadow after all...
The first book was far and away the best of this series. The characters were so vivid and alive. The rest of the series, including this book, was just okay. I felt there was zero chemistry between Zara and Tavarian after the first book. Everyone was boring. Lessie wasn’t witty or funny or anything. These could have been so much better.
Fun series available on kindle unlimited (AUS) Enjoyed the dragon rider X magic/mages fusion The 6 books could definitely have been squished into 1, plot was regularly entertaining but found the ending quite underwhelming which was disappointing. Would have enjoyed the series more if the final part (Book6) wasn’t rushed and lacking in completion (other characters, unmentioned outcome of magical items like the heart pieces, amulet, horn etc, future of dragons and dragon riders)
This was a really good conclusion to the series. I did feel that the "big" fight scene was a little lack luster and a bit rushed but I get it. It definitely had the shock factor for one thing that happened. IT was a good wrap up though a bit to happy Everly after. To be honest, this series could use some reworking and instead of 6 okay-ish books get it to 2 Very good books with a bit of refinement and polish. You can kind of tell it was a indie published series as each book had a small recap of what happen in the story and it felt like a waste of a chapter. Overall the story is really good and thought out, some of the plot points were really good while others were just okay. overall I would say this series is about a 3.75 to 4 stars.
Perfect conclusion to a really fun series. I’m honestly pretty sad it’s over. Zara and Tavarian are such a cute couple, Lessie became the sweetest and most entertaining character, and hot damn has Zara gone through it.
While these books aren’t literary masterpieces, they are super fun and entertaining, and I found myself really falling in love with the core characters.
There’s not much I can say without spoiling but definitely a solid ending. My only complaint is that the demise of one of our antagonists was way too fast and easy but oh well!!
Thank you to the author sir sending me the first in the series to review and getting me hooked:)
This entire series could have been so much better if the writing hadn’t been so simplistic and rushed. Every time the characters find themselves in a bad situation, it is solved in almost no time. There was no real tension because you knew everything would be solved in a matter of a few pages. Sometimes danger was averted before it even happened. And without details, many relationships felt fake because the reader rarely gets to see any interactions that don’t have something to do with saving the world.
The plot and characters were just interesting enough to keep me reading, but I did end up skim reading much of the last two books.
Overall this is a good series, it’s not the one that will keep you on the edge of your seat and dying to know what happens, but in its own way it’s a beautiful story about a woman and her dragon soulmate that go through a lot of trouble to live their best life, defend their country and why not, save the world. Also it has a splash of romance that it’s an added bonus but not a pretty relevant part of the story (not a romantasy). I enjoyed very much and although I think it could be a few books shorter it’s a nice story, not very complicated and easy to read.
I literally could not put this series down! Granted with my work schedule it took me a little over a week to finish the entire series but it was 100 worth it!!! This is EXACTLY what I'm looking for in a dragon rider book! It was so sweet! I just love the character development and the plot. I love how the end to finding the solution & the happily ever after at the end. It's just perfect.
Wow! This series is stunning! The adventures, The friendship, the dragons! Absolutely one of the best reads I have had in a while! I am a little heartbroken that it is over and hope for more maybe a spinoff? This world building adventure was too good to let go of! Please make more! And if you haven’t read this series do it you will not regret it! Underdog to champion just absolutely one of my favorite series!!
The End. I'm finished. What can I say to conclude this series?
It was amazing. I loved the characters. I appreciated how many characters reappeared later in the series.
From start to finish, the series was an adventure. And what an adventure it was. From thieves and adventures to dragons and lords, to war and calamity. From gods to wonders.
I do not believe I have ever read a book with such adventure. So seemlessly brought together. Packed full of love, friendship, and sacrifice. Four days I have spent reading this, and although I struggled to get into at first. I am grateful I carried on. Incredible read!
Honestly… at every turn the whole series has made me smile, laugh and smirk at the jokes
Jasmine is an excellent writer - she imbues her characters with such amazing warmth that you love them and can’t read fast enough to read how they save themselves
Oh yea! This book is awesome!!! 👏👏👏🙂 There are so many twists and turns (and dead ends!) They you never see things coming! I did not feel a single "this is boring" moment! Loved it! ❤️ I have really enjoyed this entire series!
One of the best Dragon Series I have read in a long time. I'm about wore out reading it but soldiered through. Thank you so much for creating such a riveting series!!!
Back to back adventures! A lot of ohhh’s and ‘whaat!” Caught up and involved in each novel beginning to end ! What a writer Jasmine Halt is!! You will not be disappointed!!! Thank you for this inspiring page after page of entertainment!!
Overall I think this series would’ve been better as a duology, but I appreciate how each book was 250 pages or less, which made the reading time go by a lot quicker and got me out of my slump! A quick, easy and fast-pace read, but an enjoyable one!
I loved this series so much. I loved the political scheming and spying, how she used strength and smarts to get out of situations, the dragons, and magic, and love, passion. this series got me back into fantasy and romanticy again ❤️
This series left me eagerly awaiting the next book!
I couldn’t wait to read each new book in the series. The character development was masterful and the ongoing storyline kept my attention to the very end.
I really enjoyed this series. It had all the high points of a good series. Interesting characters, really bad guys, and an interesting and well written story. My only complaint is the cliffhangers. Everything else was 10 out of 10.
Dragons are the best as these writings prove, to me at least. Although I don't like a long series normally this is one I had to chase to the end. Thank you MS Walt!
I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure that Zara and Lessie embarked on! It was full of twists and turns with an extremely satisfying ending and all loose ends tied up neatly in a bow by the end of the series.
So many tosses and turns into this that had my heart rate up! But the sweetness and chivalry and love intermingled was the best touch. Absolutely stunning.
I really enjoyed all the twists & turns in all 6 books in this series! Please tell me there will be more books to come in the Dragon Riders of Elantia series.
