That day Alexandra bought a Video/Computer Game from a nearby Store, It was Titled "Comatose", a two player game. A strange game, with no instructions on how to play. Once the game begins both siblings find themselves completely lost. According to the Internet, "Comatose" doesn't exist.
Upon checking out the game, they figure out that they need to give verbal instructions through the microphone. However, the strangest part was the main character "Jack", he felt alive as if he was a real person with real emotions, he would often defy direct orders and would react humanly. After a lot of brainstorming they realise that the main character has amnesia and their purpose is to help him regain his lost memories.
A sort of tension hung in the air. They avoided talking about "Tricia". Something had caused a lot of agony to the twins, leading them to emotionally drift apart from each other as well as their parents, the twins don't live with their parents anymore. As Alex and Ben solve puzzles in the fictional world, they begin to open up to each other in the real world.
Who was Tricia? What happened to her? Why is there no information about this mysterious game on the internet? Do the answers lie in the game or in the real world?
Comatose is a contemporary fiction, filled with mystery, thrill and drama. In the story, the game comatose depicts how life doesn't give you any instructions on how to lead life, one has to use their own intelligence, solve puzzles, face challenges, heal and move on because if you don't you will be lost like "Jack".
This book was gripping, thrilling and fast paced. The author did a good job by not letting the story drag at any point. The Plot was new, different and exciting. It was a good pick. I was so engrossed with the book that I lost track of time. The story revolves around only half a dozen characters, which was a plus point as it saved us from reading unnecessary events or backstory.
Overall, 'Comatose" was a good read and it is one of a kind.
