A Case in Oak Haven

Rate this book
It's the autumn of 1937, and there's a new business in the small New England town of Oak Haven... Nelson Whitley, Private Investigator, has set up shop. In a bid to save his sanity from big city corruption, Nelson's best friend from college and his sister have convinced him that small-town life is the way to go. Unbeknownst to him, it turns out that small-town living is full of, shall we say, interesting characters, as Nelson's first case in town involves a missing veteran, a man who thinks he's an angel, and an overeager reporter who wants to join forces. It's shaping up to be a fall season unlike any other for the young detective, who's finding out that the simple folks of this town aren't quite as simple as he expected.

Good book for what it is--a short vintage mystery. Happy to support Jake's work, I like how he is keeping the throwbacks alive.
