A stage IV breast cancer thriver, you can find Emily enjoying free time with her family, getting lost in a good book, or redecorating her house depending on her mood.
I’ve only read TWISTED so far and it was sooo good. Read it within a day and a half so it was a quick read but it was so spicy, so much drama, betrayal and love. Definitely recommend if you’re into Villian gets the girl type of books!
i don't understand what sort of sick, depraved, loveless audience this was written for. actually, i have a theory that the writers of books that have the characters fucking like animals in every other chapter are trying to overcompensate for their dry love lives. because there is no way in hell that a person can actually write something like this with a straight face unless they have never experienced getting laid or the touch of anyone from the opposite gender. but if you do strip down the annoying, unnecessary smut that was clearly put in to increase the word count to qualify this thing as a novel, you get a crazy story where all people do is kill each other. like i've read my fair share of horror and gore, but i don't think i've ever read so many books where the main characters kill random people just for the fun of it. and then to top it all off, they go and have sex on peoples' dead bodies. i'm not quite sure what emily was on when she wrote this, but i can assure you, it is impossible to be sober typing even a word of one of these books. eight bottles at the very least.
This is a dark and mature reimagined series featuring some of our favourite villains from fairytales such as the Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and the Wizard of Oz etc. If you hate seeing the villain have a HEA, this is not the series for you Where do I even begin ? This series is a whirlwind of addiction, chaos, action, seduction, forbidden romances, and heart palpitating tension. My favourites were definitely 'Hooked' and 'Scarred' - there's just something about an unhinged villain who is down bad FERAL for their girl that they are willing to do ANYTHING to see them happy. The chemistry, the character development, the *spice*, the plot and the pace was just *chefs kiss*. I devoured these books in a matter of a few hours !!! I think my least favourite was 'Crossed' just because it contained an embedded religious theme- don't get me wrong l'm not religious but I feel like you need to have a certain mindset when starting this so I highly advise reading the disclaimers to see if you're up for it.
Awesome, Awesome retelling series. You will fall in love with the villains and you will love these stories. Unexpected twists, you will laugh, cry and love in the great journey. Some of it forbidden and unforgettable. Go for it.
Emily is a very good author! Love love the fracture fairytale vibe and twists all her books have! The best part, the villain keeps the girl! My favorite ones are Hooked and, her most recent, Crossed! The whole series is 4/5 overall, Greta intro to dark romances
These books were really good! I loved the dark fantasy romance feel to these books! And let’s just take a minute to enjoy the attention to detail for the original “inspiration” of the stories! And morally grey will always have my heart!
This series is amazing! Definitely gives our classic villains their version of a “happy ending” *wink*wink*! Once you start one you can’t stop! Emily has a way with words! Amazing books! Can’t wait to see if she makes more villains!
This was a cute dark tale with a slight nod towards hook, for all the readers wanting villain gets the girl This is a book for you, Quick read and has good foreshadowing too,
Loved these books so much. Plots were on point, spice was good and the twist on the classic stories was intriguing. Favorite out of the 4, probably Hooked. Each are standalone books.
I loved every single one of these books. They hooked (no pun intended) with the plot lines and stories loosely based off of my favorite movies growing up.
Hooked- How could you not fall in love with the villain?! I fell hard for the MMC and was rooting for him the entire time! The banter, the stalking, the spice 🥵
Scarred- sign me up. Honestly. Let's go, give me a castle, I am ready for the rebellion. Again, villain, yesssssss!
Wretched- MY FAVORITE in the entire series so far. Spoiler: a lady villain! Say no fucking more. The yellow brick road, the spice, the freaking desk scene. Hi yes 🧎🏼♀️ I want to be her when I grow up.
Twisted- I loved the love between the FMC and her father. With his best intentions and all she tried. She really did. But the villain won out and remind me to always befriend the morely gray men with large snakes 🐍
