I never dreamed of living in Beverly Hills, Or dating a rich, hot doctor. Those fantasies would be a waste of my time. They're too far out of reach for a broke single mom like me.
But when my friend lands me a gig housesitting a mansion, I get a chance to live out that very fantasy firsthand. Still, I know that's all it is. Soon, I'll have to go back to my real life.
Until then, I've got a big problem on my hands. A six-foot-tall problem with chiseled abs and dark stormy brown eyes. His name is Dr. Christian Beckett. That's right. The Christian Beckett. As in one of the hotties on the staff of the famous Bardot Hospital.
He works odd hours, and so do I. We keep running into each other in the lonely early hours of the morning. At first, we just have innocent chats. But our talks quickly spiral into something not so innocent.
This isn't a fantasy to Christian. He thinks I belong with him in this world. I know better. The question is… Does my heart know that?
Lauren Wood loves to read and write about irresistible alpha males who are naughty and dirty. If you like bad boys, sexy neighbors, billionaires, and swoon-worthy romance, you've come to the right place. Her alpha males are strong enough to make the hard decisions in life, but sweet enough to melt for his mate.
She is a big time fashionista, loves trying new hair styles, and if she is not writing, you will find her in a gym working on her body to get the attention of her very own bad boy. *-*-*
Now we’re back to our regularly rated 4. I’m not going to lie, I was still bitter from how Christian acted with Brett in the last book. I was hesitant to read his story because he didn’t paint a very good picture of himself in the last book. I know I didn’t like him, so to find that his story would be next I wasn’t sure. Something must have woke him up between the time when the last book ended and his story, because he was a completely different person. I liked him in this book, and did not care for Olivia. I didn’t think she would get her story and I also thought she was younger than she wound up being. Actually, I kind of forgot about her until she mentions Lexie and Rowan then it clicked. While I enjoyed learning about who she is as a person, she had huge trust issues and stubbornness. When Christian starts seeing her, she was fighting with him pretty much the whole time. She was argumentative, sensitive and bitter. I can understand this maybe once, or twice but to have it happen most of the book, well it got old. I wanted her to wake up and realize that Christian will be different, even though at first I couldn’t blame her, especially after the last book. With all of this combined, you still get tender and emotional moments between them, moments that I wish she wasn’t so defensive and against. Eventually she does come to her senses but it wasn’t without a fight. It was her attitude and the way she handled this that I give this book a 4. If Christian could change, then why couldn’t she? I’m approaching the last book in the series and I’m curious how it will go out.
Olivia and Christian meet over a misunderstanding. However, its not long before sparks are flying. Neither of their work schedules are normal and they end up having chats a random time as they are getting in. Olivia is just housesitting for a bit she doesn't belong in the world she is living in at the moment. However, Christian hasn't figured that out. Will he push her away when he learns where she really comes from?
This is a great story that will hook you in the first chapter. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
Christian and Olivia meet when he catches her breaking in through the neighbor's window. It is a misunderstanding one that starts them along their path. Christian leads a lifeless lifestyle. To him it is filled with darkness, but Olivia brings light to it. As they navigate their path to happiness, they have to weather twists and turns that both have to overcome to get there. Do they have what it takes to weather the storm? Christian and Olivia had me cheering for them to get their chance for happiness. I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
With the exception of quite a few typographical or grammatical errors, I found this story to be quite interesting, exciting, certainly heat filled, and worthy of being placed in my to read again pile. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and I've read several in this series so it was nice to have names brought up from other books I have read. My only complaint is the typographical and grammatical errors which caused me to have to read certain passages multiple times to find out what was actually being said.
I love this story from beginning to end. Olivia is a very strong woman, her life has been difficult, for many factors. Christian in successful doctor, feels that his life has meaning only when he is practicing his profession. But their lives collide and there they realize that they are the complement to each other. Christian is sure what he wants to, but Olivia has her doubts. This story has a HEA.
An enjoyable story, touching, interesting and steamy.a romance story story of Christian and Olivia..two different people both had issues..A single mom/bartender and a strong woman who love her son dearly but still grieving and a successful doctor but doesnt have a life outside his job..but when the two collides spark fly and there is hope for the future only if he can convinced the woman who makes him alive...I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Good book the only thing I didn't care for is the lack of relationship building between Christian and Rowan. How can you be so heads over heels for someone and not try to have any relationship with their child. He was ready to move them in without so much as having said a hello to the kid. First time author, would read again.
This was a good read. Olivia is house sitting for Christian's neighbor. She is a single mom who is just trying to make it. Christian is a playboy. However, meeting Olivia makes him change his mind. They have some complications but in the end everything works out for them.
Now, this, was a Great read! FYI - I L.O.V.E.D. that party scene at the end of the story! It was AWESOME! 😁😁 THERE ARE a few years involved here but I guarantee you'll LOVE the HEA! Thank you for your time, talent AND THE STORY!
