Angels and demons shouldn't mix, but that's what makes the drinks, and the romance, taste so good. Sylvie has always liked a challenge, and when she runs into an angel at the bar where she's harvesting sin, she finds herself involved in the most fun one yet. Teresa knows better than to mess with an envy demon, but there's something irresistible about Sylvie that she can't ignore. Can they overcome their differences over a cocktail of sin? - A Cocktail Of Sin is a standalone story in the Forked Tail series, a light-hearted urban fantasy romance with angels, demons, cocktails, and an f/f romance.

Who knew that an envy demon and a faith angel could actually get along.... Sylvie and Teresa find out when they compete for customers at a neighborhood bar. That sets up a friendly competition - who's more successful at procuring virtue or sin - with various prizes at stake and from the outset there is a tantalizing attraction between the two. This much too short read from Tape has lots of humor, enticing cocktails, flirting and a whiff of mild wickedness and daring evolving to more. Cocktails and entrees to titillate the taste buds but only with a dash of sin or virtue applied. The angel and the demon wonderful together for now! Sinful cocktails indeed. Go ahead delve into this series and lift your spirits with this quick, fun read.
This novella was entertaining but it didn't really have a conflict, it was just like a little slice of life. If you like that kind of thing this might be for you, it wasn't for me unfortunately.
This was fine, there really wasn’t much to it. It being so short left much to be desired, it’s hard to build a world and believable relationships in such a short span. Even still, this was entertaining enough.
This world might be one of my favorite fictional worlds. The idea that Angels and Demons need to feed on virtues and sins is amazing and in this book we actually get to see how it works. I really liked learning a little more about harvesting and the different sins and virtues in general and I especially liked that it never felt like I was lectured. The characters in this book are incredibly playful and that makes the entire book playful. And even though one character is a demon and another an angel, they're also their own person and not a walking stereotype. I could therefore easily understand why they would fall in love with each other. If you haven't set a foot in this world yet, this might be a great book to start with to see if it's something you might like too.
cute read for a short book (it’s a prequel so yep). the MCs were wholesome and funny. i enjoyed their nervousness around eachother and then their moments together.
This was such a cute great story , the characters had a lot of depth for such a short book , the story was original. I need so much more of this book, if it were a series I would buy every single one.
This is book six of The Forked Tail series and is a side story of characters already mentioned in the main series, faith angel Teresa and envy demon Sylvie. Sylvie is the ex-girlfriend of Lana, the chef and owner of The Forked Tail restaurant and they didn’t exactly part of good terms. Teresa and Sylvie meet at the bar of a popular restaurant, out to collect their virtues and sins, but with a bit of attraction between them they decide to make a competition of it. Angels and demons don’t usually mix and Sylvie isn’t used to being around angels, nor does she know much about the virtues that they collect. Both of them in their youngling days had tasted what tickled the opposite person’s tastebuds. But neither knew how to taste them in the best manner, such as with Lana’s recipes and dishes. Demi and Lana are on the outs in the relationship part of their partnership and are only partly in this story.
Sylvie likes a challenge and is willing to try something new and this challenge seems like fun. Teresa feels an attraction to Sylvie and just because she shouldn’t be with her, doesn’t make her stop. They play a few games of giving names to the customers and choosing who they will target. They have to play by the rules and can’t deliberately twist the target’s emotions to gain what they need to feed on. The prize for one of their games is an invitation to an angel only cocktail bar and Sylvie can’t wait to see what virtues should really taste like. The reverse is available for Teresa when she is taken to the Forked Tail and gets a taste of sin on her food, from Demi’s recommendations. A short story showing an angel and a demon going against the norm and finding a common love for each other and not being afraid to test the boundaries. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
I’ll have an Angel & Demon, please. Shaken, not stirred.
The below is soooo true even IRL: ‘Virtue tastes better when it has resisted the temptation of sin’
I’ve read many books, nay, many series by this author yet I’ve NEVER laughed so hard while reading all of those put together as I did by the middle of the second chapter of this one. The attitudes, the banter, the competition, the drinking, the envy, the flirting, etc. Well played.
As usual, the author gets me thirsty – thinking of making myself a Dirty Mary made with Faith while I await ‘A Sprinkle of Greed’ (expected 30 July).
don't be fooled by the cover, this is actually kinda cute. the writing feels a bit strange for a bit as they explain how sins and virtues work as well as the dynamics of angels and demons, but near the end it starts flowing a bit more naturally. aside from all that, i think it's kinda sweet how in the end everything falls into place and teresa and sylvie work things out between them

I enjoyed this book and I hope there will be more to come with Sylvie and Teresa. While it is a standalone it would be more enjoyable if you had read some of the Forked Tail series. This book is about two opposites coming together. Sylvie and Teresa shouldn't be friends let alone anything else but by looking past their obvious differences they can find common ground. This was a fun read.
This is a companion stoy to the main series. The characters are Sylvie (Demi’s ex) and Teresa - an demon and an angel. And believe me, after you’ll read this, you’ll not longer think of demons and angels in the same way. Seem more funny that the demons stories. Almost.

"There was no denying that Sylvie was intoxicating and I wanted more of her."
I really enjoyed this novella. The world building and magic was really cool. I feel like Arizona Tape took a common concept of angels and demons and turned it into so much more. Harvesting sin and virtue and then infusing it in food and drinks was really cool. Teresa and Sylvie had great chemistry.
Angel vs Demon This time, Sylvie’s stirring up trouble hanging out with angel Teresa. Between competitions and drinking wild cocktails, these two are rivals who’s rivalry because something more (something spicy!). I loved the shenanigans these two got up to! A fun read for sure.
I really liked this book. Sylvie and Teresa's Story was funny. An Angel and a demon betting against each other and seeing who will win. Favourite part was when Teresa had to take Sylvia to the angel bar. A fun read.
