Viktorija’s easy techniques and helpful hints will show you how to hone your people drawing skills, add colour to your sketches, and develop your own personal style.
Drawing People is the springboard to unleashing your creativity and building a unique collection of artwork.
I picked up this book from the library to better understand Viktorija’s teaching style, especially her approach to portraits and people.
This isn’t a step-by-step course but a collection of 100 prompts, ranging from quick sketches to more detailed exercises, all focused on people and what makes each unique.
The book includes a few brief insights into who the artist/author is and how she works, along with an introduction to mark-making, shapes, composition, proportions, and more. It’s a really versatile resource - perfect for experimenting and playing around.
I haven’t tried the exercises myself since it’s a library copy, but I definitely plan to buy my own so I can dive in fully. As an artist, I find these sorts of books often offer little sparks of inspiration that are great for creative breaks.
Highly recommended for both beginners and seasoned artists who enjoy drawing and want to explore different ways to capture people.
