Pörgessük föl a cselekményt jobban, kedves szerző.
Started and finished this book in one sitting. I was completely captured by the plot and characters. I loved the relationship development between Fenn and Serena. It made me smile and cry. I was on the edge as things began to unfold and Serena’s decisions lead to more intense moments. The end was intense but what an ending. Need to know more about what happens next. Great job.
It was not bad for a debut, but it wasn't as gripping as I thought it would be. It was cheesey and predictable in some places of plot. There wasn't much depth to the characters. But I loved the friendship that grew between Fenn and Serena. Couples who train together, stay together 🤭 The scenery sounded beautiful! I'll continue the series, but I'll admit it took me a while to complete this.
A lean shifter romance! Wahoo! Granted, some of the modern barbs and verbiage felt out of place in this fantasy world and we still don’t know the significance of the fox feather or the location of his sister. Overall, it’s a great story.
I received this for free and as I love paranormal and romance as well as a good story with a great plot I was very glad I chose this particular book 📕 to read. It had all the above mentioned and even some funny moments and unexpected moments as well. I just downloaded book 📕 2 and I hope 🤞 that I will enjoy it as much as I did this one in this trilogy as I don’t read many of them because I usually like to read books 📚 as a single book and not a continuous read in a series but I’m going to give this one a try as again I really loved this story. 😊📕🩵
This is a good first book from K.S. Gerlt! It's an easy read, flows quite nicely and has enough back story to keep the story line in sync. The descriptions are great and truly add to the world building. Serena is a good fmc, she's strong, savvy, not whiny and willing to help those she cares about. All in all its a cute clean read!
this deserves more than 5 stars tbh. the story was so good and the romance I WAS DYING pls if u see this read it bc it was so good and yeah i need all my friends to read it so they can experience the awesome goodness of this story 🙏
The Werewolf's Mask by K S Gerlt Known in town as the girl with foreign, flaming-red hair, Serena finds solace at the Ranger's ranch, caring for and training their horses alongside her childhood friend, Chris... I was actually quite pleasantly surprised with this one. Usually I don't go in for werewolfs but this one actually had a lot more Beauty and the Beast vibes than werewolf ones (no pack mentality, no sniffing, and only one use of the word "alpha"). Finn was a great brooding hero. And the best part was that this book is completely spice free (although there is some mild language.) A series I'm interested in continuing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quote: "His black hair was all mussed, as if he’d just woken up, but there were dark circles under his eyes in his too-pale face. It was the best sight I’d ever seen."
At first, this felt a bit like a Beauty and the Beast retelling - isolated castle, big hairy beast (although Fenn appears to her in his human form). Add in her hooded cloak and scary woods and it seems like Little Red Riding Hood. In the end, it wasn’t like any fairy tale.
Serena was a likable character although maybe not the smartest given how she was “caught”. The bad guy was extremely villainous and his motivation lacked depth. The final battle seemed a bit too easy and the “twists” were easy to spot.
The romantic element is mostly non-existent so the declarations of love in the final pages felt over-the-top.
Still, a well-paced story that kept me turning pages even if it lacked excellent execution.
The Werewolf's Mask kept me hooked through the twists, turns, and intricate loops woven throughout it. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Serena and Fenn, especially as their relationship progressed. The plot twist in the book shocked me, and I loved every bit of it. The conflict between Serena and the antagonist, Lester, held my attention as it pushed me forward through the narrative toward the answers I desperately sought after. The stakes are high, the relationship sweet, and the conflict enthralling. I definitely recommend reading The Werewolf's Mask and its sequel, Daughter of Wind and Moonlight!
I really enjoyed this story, loved the characters (well, some, not so much but you know what I mean).
I wish I could see Fenn’s place with my own eyes, it really sounds magical.
I really struggled to find time to read, because some days my daughter woke up or interrupted as soon as I picked it up so I feel like I can’t describe it as good as it deserve.
But all I can say is it’s definitely a book worth reading! Can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!
Kept me interested but the writing was very weak. I felt like the author was high school age. I liked the story but would've liked better editing. Just an example:
"A little brass bell tinkled as I opened the sturdy wooden door, and warmth from the massive stone oven enveloped me in a comforting embrace. The baker, Mrs. Thompson, was busy attending to a couple of customers by the front counter, so I made my way over to the display shelves."
I didn't feel as though it was necessary to state Mrs. Thompson was the Baker after walking into the bakery. It felt redundant.
As an adult I enjoyed this book but would never recommend it to anyone under 18. I understand the pull of a dark and malevolent villain but some descriptions should be toned down due to the audience. This villain was evil enough that his plans for her after the wedding were best left for the reader to imagine to the level they could handle. I would consider a trigger warning if the genre cannot be changed.
This was a quick one-sitting read for me that I found on Amazon Kindle Unlimited when I was looking for a werewolf story. This one was different. Yes, I am aware it is YA, and so, I knew I wasn't getting Pulitzer Prize winning fiction, but I still found the story engaging and easy to read.
This is book 1 in a 5 book series, and so I already downloaded the next in the series. I'm curious where the series will go.
Fairly decent take on a beauty and the beast retelling. Slow at times, but picks up speed at others. Still, a good read.
For my clean readers: some language-no f-bombs. Violence-fighting, kidnapping, attempted murder, hints of rape tossed about, assault, torture-not just men, but women and children(no details though), murder, and assassination. Romance-kissing, discussion of rape, but few details as it's kept to the reader's imagination.
A new author and I must say I'm really impressed and pleased. Right down my alley so to speak. I loved it and can hardly wait for the next book. For me she knocked it out of the ballpark. So interesting I could hardly put it down. I thoroughly will be reading the rest of this series. Thank you.
I don't often read paranormal but picked this book up because a friend thought I should read it. I did enjoy the story though it was predictable at times. Some of the writing felt a little repetitive, but the author captured the friendship and loyalty of the two main characters well. I enjoyed this aspect of the story.
I had a hard time putting this one down. It has all the elements.... villains, lost family, heartache hope, love, action, good overcoming evil... highly recommend.
Great book! I loved that the main character was resourceful and smart. I thought it set up the world and the rest of the series nicely. It was interesting enough for me to read within one day and didn’t drag on.
3.5/5 STARS! More werewolf stories please. This is fantastic. Fun plot, interesting & complex characters, fast paced, & a really good werewolf story that isnt overdone or corny. I definitely enjoyed this audiobook & recommend to anyone wanting a good paranormal romance.
Great story. Being that this is part of a series, I'm going to assume we will find out what happened to Fenn's sister. It was definitely a quick read for me. Action packed, which kept me from putting down.
This was all just nonsense and the ending was so packed with stuff that absolutely didn't need to be there only to suddenly end. Lester's misdeeds were also just too much. We already know he's bad. It was all so unnecessary.
