Oscar: An Enemies to Lovers Small Town Romance

Rate this book
A mountain man, curvy girl romance.

Sapphire

I run a tight ship at the Mount Break Kennels.
A crazy, capsizing ship, but a tight ship nonetheless.
I may not have time for everything, but at least Gramps is safe and the dogs are taken care of.
So, naturally, when a complete stranger ends up stranded at my property... it's a challenge.
He's rough around the edges.
He's abrupt.
He's ruining my business.
He's not welcome. He'll throw my entire schedule out of sync.
But I have to put on a brave face. Or at least try.
The last thing I need is for him to report me to the cops for nearly killing him.

Oscar
Life is simple, and that works for me.
By day, I keep the streets clear in Pink Ridge.
At the end of the day, I sink a few beers with the guys.
It keeps me busy. Too busy to sit and dwell on what I did to Dad.
And that's enough for me.
When Sapphire near enough ends my business and my life in one fell swoop, I'm pissed.
Not to mention, I'm stranded in her home - where I'm clearly not welcome.
If we make it through the night without killing each other, it'll be a miracle.

There's plenty to like about Pink Ridge. Pink sunsets, babbling brooks, and scenery that looks like a picture-perfect green screen. It's the ideal place to settle down and find love. And while they say that love conquers all, life can be hella resourceful. This mountain man romance series revolves around enemies and lovers finding common ground, and broken couples who get that second chance at instalove.

The Mountain Between Us is a three-book, steamy small town romance series that features younger girls and older mountain men. Cozy up in bed, grab your e-reader, and take a glimpse into Mount Break, a stunning mountain range where Pink Ridge sits nestled in her shadows. There's no cheating and no cliffhangers here, and each of these steamy short reads can be picked up as a standalone. You'll get the most out of reading them in order, though!

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Sapphire’s life changed during the pandemic in ways that she has found difficult losing her parents she only has her grandfather to consider and of course the dog boarding family business. However, with the snow causing an obstruction due to the plough that has been dwindling when her clients are unable to find them, and with her list of growing repairs she knows that she need to find a way of keeping her driveway clear. However, when that backfires and she meet the man who has been causing her all of these problems is nothing like she thought he would be will she be brave enough to take a chance and trust him or will all she has lost cause her to lose a chance at love?

Oscar doesn’t love his life, but it is what it is, his last link with his father is the snow plough that they bought together and his livelihood the highlight of his life is meeting up with his friends and sinking a few beers. That is until he very nearly runs into Sapphire, he knows that he is in trouble from the moment he sees her eyes and even though she nearly killed him he knows that he would forgive her anything but will this little gem let him into her heart and life or is this another battle he is about to lose?

Short and sweet read from an author that I have missed reading from. Sapphire is a sad character, but she has plenty of fire and Oscar is grumpy but lovable. 4* Read

This was Oscar & Sapphire’s book. At the end of the day, I sink a few beers with the guys.
It keeps him busy. Too busy to sit and dwell on what he did to Dad. And that's enough for me.
When Sapphire near enough ends my business and my life in one fell swoop, he's pissed.
Not to mention, he's stranded in her home - where he's clearly not welcome. If we make it through the night without killing each other, it'll be a miracle. It was an entertaining read. And am voluntarily leaving my review.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of two loners, Oscar and Sapphire. The story keeps us turning the pages with exhaustion, anger, connection, realization and steam.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fire

When Sapphire is fed up with the snow plow blocking the road to her kennel business she takes matters into her own hands. She blocks the road with her truck to get his attention. This ends up being a mistake and having the snow plow guy be in her life forever.

Love this story of Oscar and Sapphire. Both of them have recently experienced loss in their lives and have shut out others. Sapphire has her grandfather but is very protective of him. When a snow plow accident brings them together they realize that maybe it’s time to open up!
