It was supposed to be harmless. One fake date with an off-limits football player I'd never date for real.
Plot twist—Harry Westbrook is the exact opposite of harmless.

My first mistake? Underestimating that boyish smile, those playful eyes, the charming words on those perfect lips. He claims to have a crush on me.
But, as hot as he is, I'd bet he's scheduling booty calls like a dentist booking teeth cleanings.

I'm Nadia Chester — in-house lawyer for the Paragons football team. Queen of logic and compartmentalizing.
Resisting him should be easy.

But then my slimy ex rolls into town, determined to hijack my favorite charity event and turn my life upside down.
Suddenly, six feet two inches of wide receiver muscles might come in handy after all.

I need a fake boyfriend. ASAP.

Harry would make the perfect gala date.
It's just one night.
It's all for a good cause.
What could possibly go wrong?

Just about everything, actually.

Because I start getting to know him. And that's when the real trouble starts.
How am I supposed to resist the guy who makes late-night pharmacy runs for his grandma? And bakes cookies with his brothers?
The hopeless romantic who's saving his V-card for his dream girl?
And what's this magic that happens every time his lips touch mine?

I'm realizing that I was all wrong about him. I thought I knew what I wanted in a man. But Harry's the wild card I never saw coming.

Too bad fairytales don't last. And a hard dose of reality is hurtling toward us like a freight train.
Maybe I could survive losing my reputation. Maybe even my career. But could I survive losing Harry?
I'm not so sure.

The Wild Card is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, opposites-attract, fake dating small town football romance. It is set in small town Iowa and is book three in the Wild Westbrooks series.

Disappointed

This book was a huge miss. Harry deserved better. Nadia was way too whiny for a grown adult woman and I cannot tell you the number of eye rolls she made me do. Plus the book could have ended at 54% so the rest of it dragged on. I also could not with the insta-love. It's never my thing but this was especially not it for me. If you didn't read Katrina's book you missed all the vibes Harry and Nadia have and they're glossed over in this book that's supposed to be theirs. I felt more for Harry's parents and poor Davis and Alana. Definitely think this book needed an editor because the timeline is vague, The therapist was awful lol, the ex showing up randomly was unnecessary drama to fill word count, Liam was out of character rude to Nadia for plot, and also a noticeable amount of words are missing or out of order. Like she didn't publish the right draft of the book. I'm invested in how Davis and Alana figure their stuff out so I'll read their book probably but I'm bummed Harry's book ended up like this.

Enjoyed it

I enjoyed reading Nadia and Harry's story. It was filled with laughter and heartbreak. Harry has been saving himself for the perfect person. When he first met Nadia, he felt like he had been struck by lightning and knew she was his Dream Girl. Nadia always brushed him off for so many different reasons. The main reason was that she thought he wasn't being serious. When her favorite charity gala arrives, she is forced to ask Harry to be her date. Of course he jumps at the chance to accompany her. After the gala, one thing leads to another and they end up married. This ends up causing complications and now Harry just needs to show Nadia that they belong together.

Full of passion, sweetness, acceptance and love

I loved Harry and Nadia’s love at first sight, age gap, virgin, accidental wedding with a side of job complications romance. This is a heartwarming, hilarious and steamy romance full of lovable and relatable characters with just a touch of angst. Harry is a professional football player and knew Nadia was the one the minute he met her. Nadia is the lawyer for the football team. Despite Harry’s repeated attempts to get Nadia to date him, she just keeps turning him down. Then there is charity gala that she is told she has to go to and Harry will be her date. Harry agrees to go to the gala as her fake boyfriend, there follows copious amounts of alcohol, and a drunken wedding. On their path to their HEA, like any accidental marriage trope, Harry and Nadia have to figure out how to navigate from the surprise wedding to the true marriage and partnership. The book does a good job of taking us on the journey of Harry and Nadia as they struggle to transition from their fears and insecurities to learn to jump together as partners. The messy journey included steamy scenes, sweet moments, stupid choices, supportive friends and family, painful pasts, and simmering and overwhelming feelings, all wrapped up in swoony heart squeezing love. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I’ll definitely keep reading this series.

Ah Virginia! Touch me like you do!

Only oldies like me will likely remember that song… Book Three of the Wild Westbrooks Series, Cassie-Ann L Miller turns the V-card on its head — in a very good way. I loved the reimagining of this classic romance trope.

Harry plays pro football and is a wonderful guy, who plans to get married only once. Nadia is a hot mess who has spent her adult life running towards men who treat her poorly. She runs from Harry, but luckily for both of them, Harry has had a love at first sight crush on her since he first met her. When she needs a date to show she’s not devastated by her ex’s deceit, love is bound to happen when you live in a place called Sin City.

It’s a lovely story; both Harry and Nadia build their trust in each other (and themselves) and learn to forgive and commit to each other in deeply selfless ways, while becoming what they were meant to be. The family and their grannies help them get there in fun and funny ways. The Westbrooks are indeed a wild and crazy family!

I highly recommend this book! It is completely standalone, but reading books one and two first makes it that much better. Enjoy!

I'm a fan of this entire series. The second I saw the third book was out, I grabbed it and read it.

I wasn't sure if I'd like Harry, but he completely took over the show. Nadia was a very vulnerable and relatable heroine. I was also a bit sceptic about the reverse age gap and hero v!rgin tropes, but both were executed really well.

I always enjoy Ms. Miller's writing, so if you're wondering where the missing star is, it honestly just comes down to personal preferences. For my tastes, I'd have loved angst until the final moment, but most things felt resolved around 70%. That said, I'm a very demanding 'angst reader', so no fault lies with the author. If your angst levels are normal, you'll absolutely adore this book!

POV: Dual, 1st person, present tense.

Tropes: v!rgin hero, reverse age gap, hero falls first.

💔 Angst: 3/5
🔥 Spice 4/5
👤 Character development 5/5
🌍 World-building 5/5
📝 Plot 5/5

Dream girl

Harry calling her Dream Girl is swoon!!!! And their first kiss!!! My my my! Wow. No build up just out of the blue was so perfect. And his reaction! Would that all men wear their worshipful hearts on their sleeves.

Both main characters were written well. Nadia's insecurity was a bit grating. But I know people like that. So it worked.

I'm so happy the tiny angst near the end didn't last long and they came back together. I was a bit shocked at Luke but it also made sense considering how he was at the gala.

Speaking of the gala. Swoon! This story was so well written.

The only thing I would change about this author's books is descriptions of the characters. I think Nadia was a woman of color, with her golden brown skin and deep brown n*pples. There were also coils mentioned. But it was still hard to get a good visual. I wish more authors put both leads on the covers. I of course knew what Harry looked like based on the cover. Overall, this was a good book.

Harry was a disappointment. I was so hyped for the male virgin hero but honestly he was a letdown. He complained that she thought he was immature, but when she didn’t tell him confidential information that she legally cannot tell him based on her job, he threw a tantrum about it, saying how she put her job first. She had the whole issue with how her ex had a problem with her being a successful woman, and he said he would never be like that, but the second things got hard for him which was not her fault. He started shitting on her job and saying all she cared about was her job after saying he always had her back. Honestly, he was kind of weak And anytime something difficult happened. He would just run away and ignore her and stop talking to her so yeah, he was definitely immature and kind of a letdown.

Do you beleive in love at first sight? Well this is Harry and Nadia's story, heartwarming, sexy and real.
Harry is the football player, full of swagger but with such a tender heart for his grandmother, his mother, his brothers and sister, he is the most sensitive Westbrook and also a virgin. Nadia is the Paragon's legal counsel, jaded by love with her past relationships going awry not open to dating a man seven years her junior and an athlete who can have a possy of women. He wears his heart on his sleeve but she doesn't want to give him a chance until she needs a plus one to a charity event. Together they are a power couple, but her armour is in place and she won't let herself feel. Passionate, entertaining story of finding your one and only.

Ok I swear I remember at least moderately enjoying the first two books in this series. Like they weren’t the great American novel, but they were at least fun (except the name Sparkle for a baby. That’s just dumb). This one rubbed me wrong in so many ways, I can barely count them all. Including but not limited to lines about queefing on a chin and “heavy globes” as a euphemism for breasts. I mean, I expect that nonsense from male writers but come on.

Not to mention all the insane red flags flying. Harry was kind of creepy and pushy at the beginning, then there was some weird insta love on Nadia’s part, followed by a whole lot of gross fetishization of Harry’s virginity and a cute little move that should get Nadia disbarred.

Huge miss all around.

Love Harry and Nadia amazing banter

Harry is a professional football player, and he’s totally in love with the teams layer Nadia. Nadia has decided to be logical because emotional always gets her in trouble. She attracted to Harry but there are just too many reasons for them not to be together. Nadia has to go to a charity gala and her ex boyfriend will be there so her boss tells her to bring Harry. The gala is when things start to change and they both see a different side of each other, but will logical Nadia win? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. Absolutely love Harry and Nadia. The supporting characters are the best. Love the sarcastic humor and all the feels.

"Your love was the wild card I didn't see coming."

OMG! The first time we met Harry, let's just say I didn't think he had the 'nards to get the girl. He was such a goofy idiot. Well, well, well....times have changed and so has Harry. There was no way in Sin Valley or Honey Hill was Nadia going to give the ever persistent, Harry a chance. First of all, the age difference. Oh, and that pesky conflict of interest thing.

Gah, this was such a great book. The brothers, their significant other's and the granny's. OMG, the granny's. Those ladies were something else. I laughed out loud a few times over their antics.

This book and this whole series are a total must read.

My heart is so in love with Harry and Nadia.

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Harry but man I loved how sweet and charming he was. He also had some balls on him for going after what/who he wanted aka Nadia.

Nadia on the other hand grew on me as the book went on. She is vulnerable, smart, well put together and the team's lawyer. She was hurt by an ex and had a hard time trusting that Harry wasn’t like other men. Boy did he prove her wrong by loving her all the right ways.

Their chemistry is undeniable and it’s one of the reasons I could not put the book down! I am looking forward to continuing this series with Davis and Alana’s story!!

Harry & Nadia

Love Harry - he is the romantic of the family. He also has been saving himself for that one special woman in his life and it comes in the form of Nadia.

Nadia is the in house lawyer for the Paragon football team, she loves her job and has no room for romance, especially since she has been burned before. When Nadia meets Harry, who is actually on the football team she works for, he instantly knows that she is the one he has been waiting for.

Sweet and sexy story with a small age gap.

Uuuu... Reverse age gap, virgin hero, yum. My favorite kind of book!

Okay so I understand Nadia's first reluctancy, I mean Harry pursue her HARD from day one and it's easy to think he's joking. I like how when Harry decide to give up, opportunity show up and he's make the best of it.

What I don't understand is, how easy Nadia switch from "no thanks" to "i love you!". It feels like there should be a bridge between two. Also I kind of turn off with Harry when he upset Nadia's didn't tell him something that supposed to be on lawyer-client privilege.

The Westbrook boys make for an interesting series. I think each book is better.
But… Nadia is kind of annoying. She’s so smart. So put together. But she let a douchecanoe ruin her self worth and she absolutely cannot see the gem in front of her, Harry. He’s so genuine. Such a nice guy. And he clearly loves her.
There’s a comedy of errors and miscommunication here. And the story feels long. Like maybe you should skip ahead or skim, long.
Next, we get Davis and his ex-wife.

A cute sports romance must read!

A cute sports romance must read! Harry knew that Nadia was the one for him from the first meeting, but Nadia says otherwise with her no at every turn. Will she give Harry a chance? One click to find out in this fun romantic story that didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the likable characters and their push and pull relationship that had me cheering from the start for his forever with Nadia.

The Wild Card is Harry Westbrook’s book and this fake relationship, age gap story will give you veritable whiplash especially with Nadia involved.
I really enjoyed this book. Harry seems to be this larger than life Football player with a heart of gold and a crush on a certain someone. Needless to say when Nadia needs a plus one for the charity gala, who does she ask? Harry, of course. These two are honestly fire, however Nadia being his football teams lawyer, could a relationship be a conflict of interest? Sometimes it doesn’t matter but what the heart wants and with Nadia not having much luck in the past with men, she does tread lightly. Harry is nothing short of determined in her regard and honestly I thought he was quite the man stepping up for what he wants. However, sometimes when communication is lacking, could this be the end? Or is there still a possibility of a future for these two potential lovebirds. Go 1-click for yourself to find out!

Fantastic! Hilarious! Crazy! Sweet! Swoon worthy and heartbreaking. I went through a whole spectrum of emotions reading this book, Harry and Nadia were definitely worth reading and will be reread many times. Loved the 'Easter eggs' and cameos! Cannot wait for Davis and Alana. Incidentally, I received a free copy of this book and am giving my honest opinion. Psst, love the author so much, I bought my own copy!

Oh my gosh, how can you not love Harry?? And Nadia? This book has it all:

✅ hot football player waiting for the woman who will rock his world
✅ smart, independent, cautious with her heart lawyer
✅ hilarious, scheming grandmas
✅ dedicated and interfering family and friends

Harry is definitely a new book boyfriend 💕💕 This is a sweet story of allowing yourself to love and trust and fall.

I love the Westbrooks, and Harry is so exception! However, for the large majority of the book, I was rotting for him to walk away from Nadia and find someone else. I didn't like how Nadia treated him, and I think he should have cut his losses and moved on. At times, he kinda came off as a stalker haha But honestly, by the end, I was glad they got their HEA. I still think Harry might've deserved better in some aspects. It was nice to see them happy in the future.

Cutest age gap ever!

Nadia refuses to give young NFL star Harry a chance. Throwing every excuse in the book at him, but he won’t quit. He keeps telling her how amazing she is until one day she has to listen. That is the day Nadia needs Harry to pretend to be her man in order to dissuade her horrible ex from approaching her. It all blows up in their faces but love proves to conquer all!

wow

Wow, just wow! I absolutely fell in love with Harry and Nadia. If we could only clone Harry, he is the most perfect man ever. What more could a woman ask than someone who’s loving, caring, loyal to a fault, and an all around sweetheart. Nadia had had some bad previous experiences and it took her a little while to come around to Harry’s charms. Can’t wait to see what happens next with the Westbrook boys

Harry has the hots for his dream girl Nadia and hasn't exactly been subtle about his crush on her. Too bad for Harry that Nadia has a million and one reasons why it's never going to happen for them. The Wild Card is a fun rom com full of laughs, heat, heart and all the feels that had me rooting for Harry and Nadia to be together!

Love Harry! and Nadia too!

I absolutely love finding a story that breaks the norms where the man isn’t some playboy who hooks up with everything that walks. Harry is an amazing character who wears his heart in his sleeve. Nadia is a strong independent woman and we need more of those characters too. 5 stars Cassie on this amazing story.

This book came to me at the right time. I have been waiting for this book for awhile and was when is it coming and it came. It surprised me has me grinning. She was older. My only complaint is the constant advertising of old books I wish it was just in the beginning.

Also I forgot to add HES A VIRGIN.

Wild Ride ♥️🏈💍💙

There’s some great parts to this book, but overall it was too long for me.

Nadia and Harry make an unlikely couple, but they work. I especially liked how he had to work for his wife. Unexpectedly married, but that was the only easy part, until he won her over.

A cute sports romance with an HEA.

Really great story

A feel good read! I absolutely loved Harry and how dedicated he was to the love of his life. My husband treats me the same tho Harry really has the words to convey his deep love and commitment. Nadia is a strong educated woman who loves her husband’s softness. Loved reading the epilogue too!

enjoyed it

I really enjoyed this book overall but was disappointed that we didn’t get to read about when Nadia told Harry they weren’t going anywhere; when they were in the playoffs; when they went to the super-bowl. I feel like those were all moments that the whole book built up to and we ended up missing out on.
