‘always remember we do this because we love the sport, we don’t do it to torment ourselves!’
this was definitely for younger audience - which ig makes sense lol (i got this in a bundle of other horse books i wanted to figured i may as well read this one too haha)
a few things i learned:
- good confirmation = think of horse in a box
- using a cloth to wipe fly spray on face is genius
- need to start remembering to clean my bit after riding lol oops
- clip horses in winter if working a lot to reduce sweat when being worked + long coat = takes longer to dry = get chills
- lateral work
- half halt = works/engages hind legs which is where power comes from
